Ragoru Romances

Night's Bride

Rate this book
Chosen to be one of the first sent to the northlands as a bride for a triad of monstrous Ragoru, Emily Duert was determined to keep an open mind and make the best out of an unknown situation. Although she heard much about the aliens, it was difficult to know what was rumor and what was fact. To further complicate matters, rather than a triad, she was mated to a pair of twins without an alpha between them. It wasn’t what she was prepared for, and yet she was surprised to find that the males were attentive and endearing.

Truth be told, Vikt and Vrel were nothing like what she imagined Ragoru to be like. Quiet and shy, neither male was aggressive much less a monster whispered about by humans. Despite the challenges presented by not having an alpha in their family, Emily found love and comfort with her mates only for everything to be thrown into uncertainty with the arrival of a lone male in the midst of a snowstorm.

With the Withering Nights approaching, can she protect her family and her heart from an unknown male? Is it her fate as a midwinter night’s bride to find her happy ever after in the northlands, or will it lead her to only pain and regret?

Night's Bride is 41k holiday celebration novella with some violence and graphic sexual scenes not intended for all audiences.

I liked the whole misfit thing with the twins. They were very sweet and awkward. Emily was definitely one to roll with the punches and gave them some security in their identities. Nash was a sweetie pie and a misfit in his own way. I liked their dynamic together, but the length of the book kept me from feeling like I got to know all the characters.

Spice: 3/5

Triggers: violence, blood and gore, death, threat of gang rape (not from MCs), mentions of infanticide, mentions of emotionally abusive parent, mentions of parental depression, feelings of isolation/otherness, attempted kidnapping, pregnancy

4&1\2 terrific🌟's for Night's Bride

Emily, Vikt, Vrel, and Nash a story of love, acceptance and belonging. It was an heartwarming tales of the early years when the Ragoru first settled on the planet. Their was still working technology and the Hunters were slowly gaining power. Emily's family along with another were the lottery chosen brides for Ragoru that were looking to claims mate. Emily accepted the position even if she's didn't have much choice but she hoped it would be a good bonding and shed find some happiness. What she got was so much more. I the beginning it was only Two not the traditional triad that came to collect her. Both Vikt and Vrel were twins and rare and shunned among their own kind. But they were sweet loving and protective of her and Emily soon found herself willingly bound to these males. Then a a terrible winters night Vrel found Nash a huge alpha Ragoru in the snow Nd their life were forever Changed. this book is all about finding your place, the place where you fit in and belong a place where you are loved. This was excellent and if you like any of the Ragoru stories then I highly recommend you give this a read! 🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟🔥🔥🌟🔥💖🔥🌟💖🌟🔥💖

Two pump chum equivalent…

I’m normally addicted to this series, but this particular instalment was a bit of a let down.

Still worth reading, just not up to the same calibre as most of the others.
Way too rushed, particularly the start.
Much of the romance was missing, and instead replaced with sex.

Still sweet and loveable, but so much of the details and world building was absent.
I get it’s all been established in previous, but I still want the ‘alien’ feel and cultural differences.

The villain story was told and resolved in less than a chapter, and very reminiscent of past plots.

For you gramma nazis, beware, it’s in desperate need of clean up, many errors.

While I’m always pleased to not have to wait extended periods between books, I’m willing to cope with a bit longer, in exchange for better quality.

SOB
this pains me because I adore the Ragoru books but this one wasn't doing it for me.
The entire story felt too easy. FMC was perfectly fine being married off to strange wolf/alien/men creatures and even all for jumping right into the act with them.
Then an alpha falls into their mix and wink wink let's go with it. The twins were manipulating their mate to slip the alpha into their group, which was so wrong. It didn't matter that she was "developing" feeling- which again- how convenient!

I ended up DNF'ing this story. Which was disappointing.

2.0 / 5.0

This read like recycled bits from previous stories and didn’t have an original plot. The bit about the twins was interesting, but other than that, there’s nothing new here. The sex is whatever, somewhat stilted and robotic. There are typos and grammatical mistakes throughout the story. The ending is strange and anticlimactic.

Overall it’s just meh and not at all memorable.

Night’s Bride

I enjoyed how the story involved “rejects” from the alien race and how it can be difficult for them. Twins is not something is common for them nor is it rare for an alpha male to be alone for so long. Im happy how this story turned out and how we saw Evelyn and her triad again.

My favorite storyline

I absolutely love the Ragoru storyline and especially this book. I loved the vulnerability and longing portrayed in this story. I wasn't sure how it would work out but I was happy to be there for the ride. I loved how the characters fit, especially how Nash fit in with the three. Great story!

So sweet and cute

I love this series. Red will probably always be my favorite but this entire series is delightful and each new addition is an immediate comfort read, with such sweet males and loving connections.

Always

Always a pleasure to devour a Sanders tale. I won't give away the plot, but as in all of the Ragaru books I was quickly immersed into the storyline and appreciation of the characters. Have fun!

What a great book, held my interest from start to finish. Great world a character building. Emily and the twins building relationship develop into friends to mates. All my checks were done: mystery, romance and danger. Love this series

Another great addition to the Ragoru universe. I really enjoyed this one. Short and sweet but still long enough to satisfy. SJ Sanders never disappoints!

Awesome!

Night’s Bride is another exciting Ragoru tale. Lots of action, adventure and sweet love. How the twins and Nash came together with Emily is tender and dear.

It's good !

Even though the reader is left to fill in the blanks left by not having a complete back story , it was still interesting and keeps the reader engaged.

So I enjoyed this story but it was my LEAST favorite in the series.
I saw the author noted she is going to do a restructuring of the series and I think this book was more on the filler side than actual story progression.
While not poorly written the characters were overall forgettable.
