HIS ANGEL

I was born into a secret society known as the Lords. There is no limit to their depravity. If they want to be respected, they have to earn it.

Women like me are merely allowed to exist in their world … until they no longer need us.

I’ve spent most of my life wishing death would find me. That I’d be granted an escape from the reality I was forced to endure. But luck has never been on my side. It seemed I was destined to never be anything more than a failure.

I VOW. YOU VOW. WE VOW.

Then one night I took control of my life. It was my first taste of freedom, and I wanted someone to notice me.

Turns out, that was a mistake, and my father had been right, I didn’t deserve to be seen.

A Lord—Kashton Landon Pierce—saved me, and I offered to pay him the only way I knew how—with my body. After he finished with me, I ran.

Now he’s back in my life, wanting to pick up where we left off.

The problem with that is I’m no longer the scared woman I was when we met. I’ve spent years digging myself out of a dark hole, and I refuse to allow any man to drag me back. Especially a Spade brother. Even if he is promising me everything I’ve ever wanted.

I underestimated him. Kashton inserted himself into my everyday life and invaded my dreams.

He needed a pet to keep chained in the basement. A toy to occupy his free time. His brothers were busy living their lives, so he decided to take over mine.

What I didn’t expect was for him to make me feel loved. To be taken care of and put first before anything else. After being told you’re worthless your whole life, it’s hard not to believe it.

Kashton made me feel cherished and accepted me for who I was—unworthy.

For a moment, I found myself hoping for a future that I knew wasn’t possible. One where I could be what he needed. But our world has a way of teasing happiness before stripping it all away.

I need you to ask me if I am well. Because I am so fucking unwell. I literally just finished Chaotic but it's more like Chaotic finished me and I have been staring at a wall for the last 20 minutes contemplating what to do with my life next, you know what I mean? This book is EVERYTHING we have been waiting a year for. Trust me when I say, Kash's book is so worth the wait. This book is literal perfection. It's everything that I wanted and everything I didn't know I needed.

If you know me at all, then you know that I live and breathe for the LORDS series. This series is my Roman Empire. It consumes every single thought and fiber of my being. I live for my LORDS watch. If you follow me, then you know that there was nothing that made me want Kash's book next after reading Madness. I was full steam ahead on the Adam train (which don't come for my baby, I will accept no criticism on that man). But now that I have read Chaotic, I am currently bound and gagged on my knees for Kashton Landon Pierce saying, I Vow. You Vow. We Vow. because this man had me falling head over heels in love. I thought it was going to be Adam to knock my beloved Ryat off his number one spot, but nope it was Kash. So yeah, I am eating my words. Kashton was the MMC that I didn't see coming. He has my whole entire heart and that was not on my LORDS bingo card for the year. He was everything that I was wanting him to be but also nothing that I expected.

That is all you are going to be getting from me for now... just know this book, this couple... hands down my favorite in this series. They have my whole entire heart. I will be thinking about this one til the end of time.

Savor this one. And I will see you on the other side ♠️🪽

This book really pulled me in and kept me hooked. The emotional journey was intense love, anger, sadness, and plenty of tears. I was fully invested. That said, the book felt too long. Some parts were repetitive, while other important moments felt rushed or dragged on longer than needed.

The FMC’s story was heartbreaking, and I truly felt everything she went through. She’s strong, resilient, and easy to root for. The MMC was intense, possessive, and deeply devoted, which I really enjoyed. Their relationship was emotional and passionate, but at times it relied too much on physical scenes instead of deeper emotional development.

The writing did get confusing at times with frequent POV and timeline jumps, which affected the pacing. There was also a lot of internal monologue and repeated intimate scenes that made the story feel longer than necessary.

What kept this from being a five-star read for me:
• Some scenes felt underdeveloped
• I was hoping for a stronger revenge arc after everything the FMC endured
• A side character was treated poorly, and I wanted more explanation
• I wished there was more focus on friendships and sibling relationships

Overall, this was an emotional and addictive read that made me cry, but the pacing, repetition, and length kept it from reaching five stars.

I'm so excited, i feel like throwing up.
I don't care who this is about i just hope there's no sharing. I couldn't read Carnage but I love the rest so much I'm literally obsessed 😭😭😭😭

Thoughts while reading:

NO SHARING!!!! My prayers were answered. Thank you Shantel. 🧎

I absolutely love how obsessed Kashton is. That man is so possessive!
I hate that he still fucks other women even though he keeps talking about how long he searched for her and how obsessed he is. In the same chapter he started with fucking another woman (mentioned not showed) and then calls Eve his future wife and gets extremely mad when someone mentioned that she’s fucking someone else. Like ok double standard.

I always appreciate Shantel’s humor. I can’t even tell if it’s intentional or not but every book made me laugh so hard. It’s my type of humor.
The FMC is finding a target to kill, at a bar, a piece of shit that she lets flirt with her to bring him to her hotel room and butcher him all while the MMC is trigger happy watching her, full of anger and murderous energy wanting to break the damn door and kill the guy because he thinks she wants to hook up with him…that girl will make the poor man die from a heart attack one day.

Exactly what I was fucking saying. I started laughing so fucking hard when Elli pointed a SIG P220 at Kash’s face in the middle of the night when he appeared at their door even though Sin let him inside. We know who wears the pants in this marriage and it’s definitely not Sin. I love that man so much, I can’t even choose a favorite MMC. They’re all so fucking lovable 😭

I’m 100% not a fan of all these flashbacks. Give me their story not the past MC’s

I like how Kash has a whole relationship, marriage and future plans with Eve in his own head while she has absolutely no idea about it. He’s so insane. He’s one of us!

My blood is boiling. I saw on tiktok the Ashtyn scene. Charlotte might be better than Eve for not threatening the whore to knock her teeth out but Eve is even better than me because I would fucking do it. “You might be pregnant but your face isn’t.” She’s a queen. I want the whore dead since I funcking met her in the series

Never thought I would ever say this about a Shantel Tessier MMC but Kash is fucking ADORABLE. Like wtf this man is already head over heels for her and she talked to him once after meeting him again after so many years. For fucks sake, he is literally making life decisions around her and only her WTF THIS DUDE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO BE THIS STINKING CUTE 😭

Eve injecting Kash with something to escape him, he wakes up face down in the dirt. With a note from her saying “don’t fuck with me. I fuck back”
The first thing he thinks when he sees that? “my future wife has a sense of humor. It’s adorable” sir you just woke up alone in the graveyard face down practically eating dirt because the girl you obviously want to marry, decided to stab you in the neck with a needle and put you to sleep…Shantel’s humor is always so good 🙂‍↕️
I’m laughing so fucking hard. She STAPLED THE NOTE ON HIS BACK.

WE ARE SO BACKKKK 🤪 I got GOOSEBUMPS reading the prologue oh how I have missed this world. Kash’s book did NOT disappoint. This story was dark, gripping, disturbing, consuming and unputdownable. Each book gets better and better Shantel how do you do this 😫

Some of my absolute favourite moments were Sin and Kash, Sin proving why he’s my favourite MMC, he was CHEFS KISS in this book. But KASHTON LANDON PIERCE? He was EVERYTHING, he lived up to my expectations and deserves all the love. He’s a dark golden retriever with feelings, the way his character was explored was *perfection*. It got a bit deep at times (which I was not prepared for) and I just wanted to hug him so bad because he’s NOT alone 😭 Now our FMC? I was NOT PREPARED. AT. ALL. She is such a badass and I can say with certainty my favourite FMC in the series. I loved Kash and our FMC together, while they had their struggles they persevered and the way Shantel wrote these two you could feel everything.

As always, the plot at large was INSANE and incredible. I was UNWELL so many times, screaming and crying, Shantel is a mastermind and I’m still reeling from this book. She writes the best secret society no one can change my mind! Kash was most definitely worth the wait! Now, can we talk about Adam.. I don’t know what to do with my life now, this book consumed me and I will be in a slump for the foreseeable future.

It is time…Time for Kashton Landon Pierces BOOK! And what a ride this book what. First and foremost. Please read the authors notes before reading this book. As always this is a dark romance and this contains contents that might be unsettling to some. Now If I had to pick between my favorite Spade brother’s book. It would have to be between this one and Haidyn’s book Madness! I feel like in this one so much comes together. I when from wanting to binge the book because I needed to know everything to never wanting it to end so I decided to slow down my reading. I verbally shouted YES! Multiple times!!! There have been multiple times I Have wanted to reread this series but haven’t and now because of Chaotic I am going to do this. I am not ready to let it go…SO the reread is going to begin of the whole L.O.R.D.S universe. And I have a feeling that at the end KASH is going to be a top contender for a favorite. Because I JUST LOVED Him and his girl in this book so much!! Who is his girl? Wellll you need to read it ;)

I got to 10% and it was trying so hard to be badass instead of just telling a story. I've found The Ritual and The Sacrifice to be my favorites of the series, but every book after those two just seem to be trying too hard. Every book is just a ton of child abuse with added trauma and hardcore sex. It's annoying at this point.

ETA:
I think I figured out why I this book annoys me so much, especially its characters. FMC wants revenge against someone/something. She's allegedly devoted to her schemes and consumed by her revenge. So why is she offering sex to a stranger? Is she recording it to blackmail him later? Is she seducing him to use later? Or is she just horny? Every show I've watched, book I've read, and in real life, people don't engage in relationships, because they are so consumed by rage and the need for revenge that people are peripheral. The only time they even notice people is because they surround them or are thought of as pawns. So Everett just getting it on with a stranger for no reason makes absolutely no sense.

Why is Everett trembling when she wants to show loyalty? You'd think she would've practiced feigning confidence, so as not to show weakness in front of the people taught to identify and exploit every flaw.

MMC is no better - he slept with a random stranger, but the dude has no assurances that she doesn't know who he is, if she'll lie about what happened, or that he let his objective go. If FMC wouldn't have killed the objective, MMC would be a literal failure, because his brain stopped working because "pwetty woman; dick making decisions OF SURVIVAL."

I also want to point out that you can be dark and edgy without child abuse (Ryat, Alexius by Bella J.). I also want to point out that just having infertility as another sad experience is dumb. Why not have the characters make the choice to remain childfree, because they don't want what they went through to affect any children they may have. That's character-driven, instead of forcing the plot by stupid decisions.

Movies/shows: The Glory, Zemheri, Arafta
Books: Lothaire (Kresley Cole), Pleasure Unbound (Larissa Ione)
Real life: Zhang Kou Kou

I dnf'd at like 10% and I'm not going to read OVER 800 pages of stupidity and sex, when the book has nothing new or fresh to offer. Did Tessier get jealous of Alchemized or something? There's no way a book with characters as stupid as these will accomplish anything worthwhile, even with the extra allotted time.

I wish authors would stop giving ARCs to the same 5-star people. They aren't going to rate them accurately. Assign it randomly through a book review company.

I loved the book but.. it was my least favourite so far. I’m not sure it needed to be that long if I’m honest but I powered through because Shantel is a mastermind and I needed to know everything.

The Mmc & fmc were written really well. I enjoyed finally seeing things from kashtons pov. The twists and turns in this book is crazy and you constantly never know where it’s going to go so keeps you on edge.

However it was disappointing to read the change of other characters, especially Ashtyn. I don’t know whether Shantel played into the all the hate or what, but to see her portrayed how she was, was such a disservice to her character. Don’t get why you’d ruin another fmc from book you’ve already done. I don’t know whether it’s because kash and haidyn had to dislike her so they could be happy with someone else and it be believable? I just don’t get it. Making it sound like saint was exhausted of her as well it was just such a let down. Trying to put a bow around it on the end wasn’t even enough because I knew that it had already ruined her, even the epilogue. “Ashtyn is just Ashtyn” The same with Adam to be honest, even in the end his character took a bashing. I will continue the series and I hope in Adam’s book there is redemption for both him and Ashtyn as this book ruined them.

What can I say…
If you’ve read one book in the L.O.R.D.S Series you’ve read them all🤷🏻‍♀️.
I mean the plots, tropes, secret sibling, fake deaths and “goodbye” letters are so similar at this point all the books just blend together.
Don’t worry tho Ashtyn is still a shady bitch but now so is Adam, must be a sibling thing.

Here we go again.
I really thought that this time it would be different but I don't know what drugs i was on when i decided that. Probably the drugs that they give the girl before they fuck them.
I dnf-ed this book at 43% and let me tell you this book is not small. It's 822 pages of pure smut. Now, don't get me wrong i love me some smuty books but this is not the smut that is enjoyable for me.
I've read the last 6 books from this series and they weren't any better honestly. The only books i enjoyed a lil bit were The Ritual and Madness.
Now for the review, i went into this thinking that Kashton is going to be my favorite MMC from this series, but alas i was proven wrong....again.
I've read almost 400 pages of this book and I just don't have it in me to finish it. I feel like nothing happened in these 400 pages except the MMC tormenting the poor FMC.
My problem with Shantel's books is that she writes the most god awful men I've ever read, and i have read around 250 books. And she writes her females like they're a breeding stock and that are only good for that. Also in most cases the FMC's are dumb as a rock.Like i said i love smut in books but i also like some story with it.
I have no words for the things that happened to Everett and i feel the most connected to her than most FMC's. I liked her character but she obviously couldn't develop next to Kashton. If you read this you know she was a part of the dollhouse training system and program and she managed to get out at 20. After she decided to fight for women who were in the same situation as her by killing the men from the organization.
But Kashton decided that the job was too much for her so he decided to make her his by chaining her to a wall in his basement. Wow what a gentleman.
That's where i decided to stop.
Every time i read one of her books i get this... uneasy feeling in my chest everytime because i feel sorry for the women because they have no other choice in the books but to be the mens "whores". In most cases the either end up married to them or knocked up.
And her explanation is that they didn't have another choice or that their life is now better as their wives.
If you ask me i think that's total bullshit.
There was a line in this books where Sin from The Sinner says that he HAD to break Elli in order to have her as a wife and that not only was it hard for her but for HIM also. If you don't remember Sin made talies on Elli so her future husband saw how many times he made her come and told her that her husband wouldn't want her now, later Elli tried using bleach to wash her skin.
Do you hear how fucked up that sounds? He later made a comment how it didn't matter if that broke her because he was gonna have her anyways. I don't know if dislike Sin or Saint more.
Also Shantel writes her FMC's so they hate eachother. I think she purposefully made Ashtyn so fucking annoying that nobody would like her. She had all three brothers but now when they all have their wives she is jealous of them because she doesn't have all three of them anymore. It's like one husband to her is not enough. OMG she's so fucking annoying she chased Haydin so much in this book, but ohhh she just wants to be his baby girl again. I really hope that Charlotte fights her later in this or in the next ones because I won't be reading them.
I found Kashton so annoying for tormenting Everett every chance he got. Like Everett said to him "Kashton stop following me, get a life." he literally doesn't. And i hate that his "brothers" pointed out that she would be useless as a Lady because she can't have children.
I really hope Shantel changes her view on babytraping as MMC's way to keep their women. Also it would be more accurate if she gave ARCs to random readers and not the ones that rate her every book a 5 star read.

Remember that this is my opinion and if you liked this books there's nothing wrong with having a different one. I support all readers opinions and i really hope that this is not the case for you and that you liked this book💋

I’m very emotionally conflicted.

Everything that happened to Eve was absolutely horrendous. She is so strong to have survived all that and come out an absolute badass. But her chapters of her past just killed me. No one deserves to go through what she did. I truly wish Haidyn had known about her sooner. He would have protected her with his life. And it gutted me how many times Kash was right there in front of her without knowing.

I will say that Kashton seems like the kindest of all the bunch. It pained me to see how hurt he was that Haidyn shut him out of his life. He always felt so alone. I love how he went to bat for Eve. He didn’t let anyone fuck around about his girl.

My emotional conflict comes in with how Kash treated her grooming. I DESPISED when he told her she needed to be used to feel good. I get it was kind of trying to say that’s how she was groomed/trained and there’s no shame in feeling good about orgasming that way but I just hated that at times it felt like he was just another fucked up man who used her. I know Kash loved her wholeheartedly but I hated how physical their relationship mostly felt.

I don’t like how the endings of the last two books have felt so far fetched. The whole twin thing already happened in Madness and now it is being used again?! Just feels like something out of a telenovela. And you’re telling me that Bill is this mastermind …I still don’t trust him or Adam. In the previous book, I thought Adam was going to be the good guy who takes out the LORDS but I hate him after this book. He’s hiding so much and all that BS he pulled with Eve. Kash should have shot him a few more times. I’m willing to give him a chance in his book but I feel like all that happens in his book is also going to be far fetched.

Ughhh, but the entire part where Kash thought he lost Eve really broke my heart. I sobbed nonstop for all those chapters. I will say, might just be me ….but maybe the first thing to do after being shot and seeing my husband is NOT to have rough sex…..but that’s just me 🤷🏽‍♀️

I actually started skipping all their sex scenes about halfway through because it was just the same thing over and over. I just wanted to know more about the bigger plot. The book could have been at least 200 pages shorter I would say.

My favorite part was all the Ashton hate because I too hate bitch. Ooooof, when she said what she did to Eve…she lucky it’s words on pages because I would have beat her ass otherwise. Saint 100% deserved better.
I also absolutely adored Sin and Kash’s friendship!

Kashton Landon Pierce has officially claimed the title of my favorite Spade Brother so far, and his FMC right alongside him!
I love the way Shantel’s mind works. This story is absolutely phenomenal, packed with trauma, raw emotional depth, and everything that makes the LORDS series so unforgettable.

I’m beyond honored to be part of Shantel’s street team and to watch her continue to grow as an author while seeing this series truly blossom.

This series will forever be my Roman Empire and one of the reasons I fell so deeply in love with dark romance. Shantel, I couldn’t be prouder of you, this is a true work of art with everything coming together perfectly. I’m already counting down the days for Adam’s story. 🖤

If you’re new to the LORDS series, it is a dark college romance, with heavy emphasis on dark. Please check your trigger warnings.
This is book seven, and it’s highly recommended to read the series in order.

So this thick boy could have seriously been reduced in pages. The plot- perfection. The FMC - the best one yet. Kash- My fave.
I absolutely loved the fast pace. The story was perfection. All of the cross overs with other books and series I so enjoyed. Loved seeing Jasmine and Cross.
Many questions answered. Many left unanswered.

But, and I get this is a Shantel book, but the sex between them became too repetitive. I would say 20% of that could’ve been left out.

Also. I’d love more backstory on the twin. Like WTF? That’s all we get?

I would also love a Novella of Haidyn, Charolette and Muffins. 😂

Lastly. Ashtyn’s still a bitch.

ETA: Not a fan of all of the past and present with memories etc.
The abuse is also getting repetitive in this series.

First off, this had no business being 800 pages long. I am EXHAUSTED

Secondly, Kashton… who knew you were such a romantic??

Eve is now my fave FMC in this series but boy did they break my heart with her life story

Im about to spend the next few hours staring at a wall..

This was more like a 4.5 ⭐️ just cause I felt like it dragged on forever but otherwise, I loved it.

This book was a complete whirlwind and I honestly think Kashton just took the top spot for my fave MMC and knocked Haidyn and Tyson off without a second thought! And without spoiling anything about who our fmc is…I’m just going to say that I am so in love and obsessed with her as well!!

As usual, Shantel gives us so many twists and surprises which made me want to keep reading and occasionally throw my kindle lol. This book was also full of so many emotions and I was definitely crying my freaking eyes out too. This series just keeps getting better and better and I will be thinking about this book for a LONG time. Enjoy Kash daddy babes!

6 stars. I’m unwell. This story has forever altered my brain chemistry. 🖤♠️

Chaotic absolutely consumed and destroyed me.
Kash and his FMC’s story tore me apart and put me back together. The tension, obsession, and emotional wreckage hit so hard.

I’ll need at least a business week to recover.

5 Stars | 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 Spice

Chaotic by Shantel Tessier was a genuine rollercoaster in every sense of the word. It was chaotic. It ruined me. It left me emotionally wrecked in the best way. I cried. I gasped. And yes I absolutely needed some alone time with my husband afterward.

From the very beginning Kashton completely threw me for a loop. Unlike Haidyn and Saint his pursuit of Eve was not about punishment or control. It was desire devotion and love. He chased her because he wanted her because he loved her and that distinction matters so much in this world. Watching him choose her over and over again was powerful and devastating all at once.

I loved how their story unfolded across time. Meeting in different ways in different moments with connections reaching back to Carnage and Isabella. Those threads weaving into the present made everything feel intentional and layered like puzzle pieces finally snapping into place.

That said this was a hard read mentally. The trauma runs deep and the themes surrounding mental health and suicide attempts are heavy. Please please read the trigger warnings at the beginning. This book does not hold back. It is raw painful and emotionally intense.

Now let us talk spice because WOW. I knew Kash was a mouth man. I just knew it. Eve being a pain slut added an edge we have not really seen in the other LORDS books and it made Chaotic stand out in such a bold way. Every scene hit and honestly there are absolutely going to be a lot of babies in nine months.

As for the connections to the LORDS universe buckle up. From discovering who Eve is related to Haidyn to Dollhouse Adam the Founder and that pregnancy twist my brain was doing gymnastics. I will definitely need to reread and maybe even map it all out but that is not a bad thing. That is exactly why I love Shantel Tessier’s books. She keeps you guessing keeps you spiraling and keeps you on edge.

Chaotic is truly chaotic but beneath all the darkness is a fierce romance. These Spade brothers and Lords will burn the world down for their wives and I will never get tired of reading that kind of devotion.

Oh Shantel.

What a rollercoaster of a book. Just when you think you know what’s happening she rips the rug out from under your feet and proceeds to smack you round the face with it.
So now what happens?!

Highlights ⚠️ Spoilers

“It was one time.” “It was the first time,” he promises. “You won’t get away from me this time, Eve.”

“I’m not as forgiving as Saint is.”

“When will this end?” “When I die,”

“Don’t you have a life?” “I’m looking at it,” he answers, eyes on mine.

He’s a man—the thing I hate most in the world.

Saint deserves better.

“Aw, is that jealousy I hear in your voice?” He smirks. “No. It’s revulsion.”

“You may be pregnant, but your face isn’t, and I will knock your teeth out of your fucking mouth.”

“Honey, Kash took what Saint offered him. I let him take whatever he wants. We’re not the same.”

I know Charlotte has doubts in her mind, but she tries to convince herself there’s nothing there. And I believe there isn’t… for Haidyn.

“Want to beat the shit out of me?” he screams. “Do it in the fucking car. Not in public.”

My angel is officially an angel. I may not believe in heaven, but I hope that wherever she is, she’s getting the rest she needs. She deserved to be loved longer. To know what it felt like to be important. To know that she was my world.

Lords don’t believe in heaven and hell. And I know that even if they did exist, I’d be sent to hell. Where I’d burn. Rightfully so. I earned that. But another life? I will hold out hope that that’s a possibility. And if so, I’ll find her sooner than I did in this one. No matter what. We were meant to love one another. In this life or another. Death will not keep me from her.

The smile remains on her face, and she lowers her hands to her growing belly. “At least I can still have children.” THIS IS NOT A HAPPY HIGHLIGHT THIS IS TO REMIND ME THAT THIS WOMAN IS AN ABSOLUTE COW
