Alpha Lust #1

A Wolf's Embrace

Rate this book
Having traveled back to her long-forgotten home town for the funeral of her distant father, Celia finds more than a few familiar faces waiting for her. After attending the wake, and drowning her sorrows with one too many drinks, she meets the confident, strong, and assertive Corey, and can't resist his animalistic charm!

After a whirlwind sexual encounter, Celia wakes to find a large scratch on her back, and little memory of the previous night. As her behaviour begins to grow stranger, and her lustful appetite for the carnal pleasures grows stronger, will Celia realize in time that her picturesque hometown isn't what it seemed, and that she herself is becoming something very far from human?

This steamy 15,000 word novelette is the first book of Ashley Spector's thrilling paranormal erotic romance series, Alpha Lust. Intended for an adult audience, this enthralling tale follows a young woman, returning to her hometown after a ten year exile, who's about to uncover a beastly underbelly to the quaint family existence she once knew; her childhood sweetheart, desperate to ensure her safety; and his rival in more than just love, who aims to claim Celia as his own prize. This book features a host of lurid, shapeshifter-infused, sumptuous sex scenes! Pick up a copy today!

Teaser chapters only, stops as story is starting. A grieving and feisty h has a good time with a shifter after her father's funeral and does it again the next night with a different shifter. Not romance.

A quick and to the point story. Very short, with few details. Predictable..
Not enough meat to the story to encourage me to pay $2.99 for the second 15,000 word installment in this mini- series..

2 no thank you stars

Nothing really to say about this one, nothing about it grabbed me enough to want to continue to the next series. It was a short quick read but wasn't for me.

Good

With the death of her father she sneaks behind her mom back to go to his funeral. Why he abandoned them she will never know. She see grey her childhood love and is greeted by him in a cold way. She leaves to bar and has a one night stand with her father friend son and awakes to new life. Good book need book 2 to know what happens next

Writing isn't great

The story is hard to get into. Sentences are rambling, consistently much longer than they should be. Run on sentences just make it hard to follow. Some words are used incorrectly. I am going to try again, because the plot seemed interesting, but it's DNF as of now.

Humm

Read the novel once then forgot about it then read it again.... not enough back story or plot to work with. Yes there is a part two, but what’s the point really when nothing is happening.

I downloaded this awhile back and finally read it. It ended on a cliff hanger and I've been looking for the other ebooks. Please help!

Good start to this parts series: Quick read that left me wanting more.

Who knew coming back and going to your fathers funeral, running into your teen crush/love not happy to see you, getting drunk in a bar and having wild hot one-night stand sex would change Celia's life....

Ohh btw..shhh that's the plot. Celia has hot rough sex with the sexy Corey all night. She just happens to get scratched during their sexathon and goes home the next morning none the wiser that her whole world is about to change.

Being tired, running a fever, dreams and that sudden urge for raw meat and blood doesn't mean anything to Celia. Until Gray, the afore mentioned teen crush/love, discovers that Celia is about to go through her transformation to. .dun dun dunnnn. .. Werewolf.

He takes her to a secluded spot in the woods to help her understand what is happening to her. Oh and hell this is an erotica shifter story where these two were drawn apart so of course we have another round of hot sex this time with Gray who she's always wanted.

This leaves you needing a little cooling down but ready to jump into the next part of the story.
Got this as a Amazon freebie and yes I want to read on so I hope all parts are out so I can buy in a bundle.

**ohh side note warning for those who dislike unprotected sex. Yes unprotected sex with both men/wolves and no talk of stds or anything.

I gave this story a two because I liked the idea of it, though I thought the execution left much to be desired. The characters are easily forgettable (I can barely recall their names), the plot is just splayed out and very predictable, and most of the story is just summarized in chunky paragraphs. What's more, not much is solved other than two sex scenes with two different men (not that the main character is a slut or anything, somehow).

The story ends in a cliffhanger, but it backfired for me. Although I really liked the main idea and the concept, it seemed to me to be rushed and not well developed. As a result, the story itself suffered. It's hard for me to recommend this; I love wolves and shapeshifters and even with my bias, I wasn't very satisfied. It is short and free, so if you are interested, it's at least worth a shot.

This book was ok but hasn't really got me that excited about the series as a whole.

Was a quick paced story that revolved around Celia returning to her home town for her fathers funeral. You quickly learn she was sent away and it looks like it was done to keep her away from waring pack families.

She catches the eye of two men (one from her past and one complete stranger) and very quickly falls into bed with both of them. The two scenes however seemed like a repeat of each other but at least she gave herself a day between the two of them. Having said this is was a good easy read to chill out to.

Was good. It's part 1. Read in about 2 hours. Celia was sent away as a teenager to live with her mom. She didn't want to nor understood why. She left her child love (Gary) behind. When her dad dies, she come to the funeral without her mom knowing. Gary shows up and demands she leave. She doesn't but goes to a bar in town and hooks up with Corey her dads friends son. She wakes up sick and tired. She sleeps for 2 day ax Gary shows up and freaks out when she has been marked by the wolf. He takes her away to learn about the wolf.

I'm guessing this is the first part of a serial. Be warned that this novelette does not tell a complete story... not even half of a complete story. The problem with serials is making readers feel satisfied by the the portion they read and want to read the next one. This did not happen for me. It was mainly sex with one guy and then another. The plot was predictable too. Not sure I will continue the series even though it was hot. Part two sounds more intriguing than part one though...

While agreeing with some of the comments on not particularly into the female character's actions, what I believe they failed to understand is that is what creates the basis for the next installment. She is in love with the guy from childhood but because she was changed by someone else- she will now have an intense pull/attraction to the one who changed her. That is what the next installment delves into- how they deal with that, etc.

Eh, they try and hook ya every time

It was ok, but I'm so tired of these tiny little part 1, part 2, etc stories where you don't get enough backstory of the characters...and they leave ya hanging. I much prefer those series where each character has his own book, a complete story...and no cliff hanger for those two main characters. These aren't very satisfying. Not even sure I want to continue this series.

This is one of those I liked it but didn't love it, glad it was free Shifter storyline was fast paced and intriguing but not a lot of depth and background. And hello, what is Celia's deal? What about being mad at your lost love (Gray) makes it alright to sleep with another sexy guy (Corey) and then you sleep with your lost love? It was just an okay read.

Way too short

You barely begin to understand the characters before it ends. I see that there's a sequel and maybe they should have just been incorporated as one complete book instead of two short stories. It's decent writing and I read it in one sitting, so it kept my interest. I just felt it ended to soon.

Not really sure what the deal is with Celia’s parents or why Gray went crazy on her still. Short but also not giving much of what was going on. Still not sure why her mother didn’t want her back or why her father sent her away but I guess you can find out in the next one. I doubt I’d read the rest though, a bit too boring and filled with meaningless details that told me nothing.

This was a short story that didn't seem very thought out. I was underwhelmed with the lack of dialog and when there was it was poorly written and punctuated. I know there is more to this story but I will not be looking for it.

Curious as to why the femAle main character acted so reckless during her return home...typical rebellion at things she was told to do. Lots of unanswered questions...of course...to get you to read the other books!

Other than the mentioned above....I did enjoy this book.

This book actually kept me up and I have never read this author. At the end, it did feel unfinished so I was BIT disappointed.

Two guys. Two male Wolves. One female. One Town. A lot of sizzling in the bedroom scene.

I want my time back

The story started out alright then it started going down hill fast. The guy tells her that she is going to turn into a werewolf, then they start having sex everywhere like bunny rabbits. I don't even read part two if it's written the same way.

Too short

This book could have been good. I read it for free but it's pretty much a setup to get you to pay $2.99 for about 44 pages. The cliff hanger left a bad taste in my mouth. This makes me sad because it has potential but I don't recommend reading it.
