An elven religious warrior is quested by his god to retrieve an item only its owner, another god, and a mysterious human mage can touch. The mage is a friend of Wahoo that he hasn't seen in years. This is the story of how the drunken womanizing elf take his pious nephew to find Karis, the mage. Along the way the pair visited several places where Wahoo thinks he might find some friends who will help. Lots of recalls are told of dealings with the mage who scares the gods.
