Gabrielle Fields was doing great in her life. With a flourishing flower shop and loving family, she couldn’t ask for more except a man to call her own to make it complete. Gabby was waiting patient for the right man but she had her eye on one of her clients; too bad he always came in ordering flowers for other women. Who knew that while she was attending a luncheon, her crush would come and sit right next to her?
Dexter Young was tired of having one night stands with the same type of girl. He wanted a relationship; a relationship that would last. So when he sat down at the wrong table and bumped into Gabrielle, she was the breath of fresh air that he needed.
Gabrielle and Dexter soon grow closer and Gabrielle felt she might have found the one and so does Dexter; that is until one of his best friend’s opinion’s gets in his head. Will Dexter walk away from Gabrielle even though she is everything he has been looking for and can Gabrielle show Dexter that she is the Something Different that he is needs?
I wasn't sure how I would feel about this story but I'm glad I downloaded it. Dexter is a black man that mainly dates white women because they're his "type". He surprisingly ends up falling for Gabby a natural, curvy, black woman. The main characters, their friends and families were very likable...except for Keith! Ugh such a jerk! It's a shame that some black men wouldn't consider a black woman their type but that's the world we live in. I loved Gabby and how she was super creative with her dates and really the perfect fit for Dexter. I liked how the author gave Gabby and Dexter a chance to explore other people when they broke up. It was good to see that both characters really missed one another. I loved the proposal.
In my opinion I don't care for the book cover and I think the woman on the cover looks super thin when I envisioned Gabby to be a bit curvier. I just can't picture a woman with such a thin arm to be the curvy beauty described in the text. I know women come in all sizes and shapes but I think if the cover was different it might motivate more people to download the book on Amazon prime. Just saying...

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! How Gabby and Dexter meet is odd considering he's always buying flowers for different women, but once he really opens his eyes to Gabby it is magic! I loved how their different personalities complimented each other so well. They were a great team! Glad they worked their issues out in the end. Another enjoyable work from Ms. Crooks!
I couldn't do it. I skimmed through the book. It was riddled with errors and I thought it was poorly written. The synopsis was very captivating and had great potential but it fell flat to me. Gabby knew Dexter and was familiar with his ways, but she barely thought twice about agreeing to go on a date. I've read from this author (and her sister) previously and I'll definitely read from her again!!
Great story people say never judge a book my it cover that so true for people as well. Dexter listern to what this friend Keith thought and almost lost the love of his life you should alway follow your heart not what other people feel they don't always know what good for you
I’m still trying to process how I feel about this book. Gabby was just a little too soft for me. I felt like she settled. She knew his kind and still allowed him to get to her. She made too many excuses for him and I it just annoyed me how she went after him to ask what’s wrong with her. I was disappointed that she didn’t drop him.
Oh my, I liked the story. My only complaint is the way the author continually used the characters names, even when it's clear whose speaking. Overall, it was a good read.
This was a good read. There were a few errors in the book. One was where she showed her sister the pic of Dexter and her sister Monica had already met him. It was a great read.
This book actually touched onto real life situations, such as black men, preferring white women over their own race of women. I'm glad the main male character came to his senses.
