This volume was really good! I think they really do a good job at writing realistic situations (and people)- ignoring the whole dragon thing. Some people just won’t like you, and just want to find a reason to complain.

I’m looking forward to the next volumes once I get the chance to read them!

As a 25 year old this story cements my belief that high schoolers are just scary

I feel like these volumes pack a lot of story in each one. We learned more about Ruri's dragon powers, along with more information about what's happening in the background and who might be watching over her. I do get a bit lost in keeping track of the classmates, but I do really enjoy that you get to see Ruri interacting with different people each volume. It feels like the story is unfolding nicely as her own social world expands. One critique I have is that sometimes these high schoolers feel very emotionally mature for their age, and are able to clear social barriers a bit too easily. And now a bonus: am I detecting low key Yuri vibes?!

Thank you NetGalley and Viz Media for this arc

I really enjoyed this volume! I like seeing how Ruri continues to grow her friendships and become more aware of how she treats and interacts with others. Its nice seeing her become more relaxed and gentle. Seeing how she is learning to not only control her powers, but also help others using them is really fun. I'm excited to see where this story goes from here, and to learn more about her dragon heritage!

Ruri has a third dragon skill show up and uses her first skill to control the weather so the Athletic Festival can occur as scheduled.

Along the way, Ruri makes some more friends and challenges a few who think she's 'gross'. She also tries out a major dragon physicality change that I was surprised happened so quickly.

Another great read in the Ruri Dragon series. I really enjoyed the weather scene. I love how the author has made the mom so nonchalant. It is perfect. I am still looking forward to meeting the dad.

Chapters 16-24 read on Shonen Jump App

This series only continues to improve! It's really great at being a slice of life without too high of stakes while still keeping you engaged

This series is very low stakes and cozy, which is nice but I don’t think it’s for me right now. I’ll just watch the anime when it comes out.

More of a 3.5 star rating;
Read the official English translation through an app called “MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA”.
This volume focused a bit more on Aoki getting more involved with the school’s committee/student council and interacting with more students from different classes through that. I really liked seeing the different dynamics amongst the schoolmates when they all interact with Aoki and how her friends are always so supportive of Aoki in one way or another. It was really cute and even more amusing seeing Aoki and Maeda truly become friends over the course of this volume. Something else I really liked was seeing Aoki developing a new power and becoming more in tune with another power that she has, to the point where she chooses to actively help her school with the upcoming sports festival.
It was all just very interesting to see play out and I’m eager for the next volume to reread how Aoki, and everyone else at the school, navigate the sports festival.
