The past can’t be fought in the ring, but it’s a damn good place to start.
Violence has always been my outlet, my escape. It’s where I’ve buried the anger that’s been eating me alive since I was a kid. But lately, it’s not enough. The chaos is creeping closer, threatening to tear apart everything I have left—everything I have with Lakey. When Cloak introduces me to the underground fighting circuit, it feels like stepping into hell. The masks, the blood, the raw brutality—it’s everything I’ve been running from, and somehow, it’s the only other thing keeping me grounded. Fighting isn’t just about winning money; it’s survival. It’s how I take back control of the rage that’s always simmered inside me. But as I rise in the ranks, I start to see the cracks in the system. This isn’t just a place to fight your demons—it’s a place where demons thrive.
There’s power in wearing a mask, but there’s even more in knowing who you are beneath it.
Cam is my constant, the only person who’s ever seen me for what I really am—a beautiful disaster, forged in fire and sharpened by pain. When he started fighting, I didn’t understand it, not at first. But watching him in the ring, I see it the rage, the pain, the determination to control what’s been controlling him for so long. It’s something I understand all too well. So, I join him, revelling in the mask that hides his face but reveals his soul, becoming part of his world in a way I never thought I could. We were made for this. The fighting... the masks... they don’t hide us—they remind us of who we are.

This novella is the perfect addition to the series in between books one and two. It gives you more insight into Cams life and the decisions he makes. It makes you fall in love with the person he is with Lakey. I can’t wait to read more of their story and watch how it all unfolds
