Bollocks!

Rate this book
Bollocks as a word is a little naughty. It’s a little cheeky. It’s a little rude.

And it’s the tongue-in-cheek theme for this collection of short stories celebrating all things English.

You'll discover a bonk is not a typo for somewhere to keep your money.

A shag isn’t something thick and plush under your feet to keep them warm, though it is guaranteed to heat you up!

And as for a snog, the boys of Bollocks! can assure you it’s worth finding out what that Brit term means.

The stories will make you laugh.

They’ll make you snort.

They’ll make you blush.

Sigh—they’ll probably make you shake your head.

They may even make you want to catch the next flight to England to find something a little British of your own!

It's not just cricket, or jolly hockey sticks, it's more… it’s the very British, Bollocks!

The E.S. skipper person was a fraud. Review taken down. Do not read books written by that author. Nothing to do with a Wayward Ink. They were used and frauded by this person.

I was very excited when I was presented with this anthology filled with all things British. Even though I'm American, I've always been fascinated by British culture, the accents and definitely the men, so this anthology was right up my alley!

Overall, I thought the anthology had a good mix of stories covering a variety of topics like shape shifters, best friends falling in love, and meeting the man of your dreams in the unlikeliest of places.

Healing by Tabitha McGowan - 3 stars
When shifter, Immanuil, seeks the help of an elusive healer who can help mend his badly infected hand, he learns that the healer before him is not only a kind and helpful soul, but is also hunted by others because of his special talents.

I liked the easy rapport between the MCs and appreciated the vulnerabilities both characters displayed. The underlying message of people who are hunted or sought out (to eventually be destroyed) due to their differences from what society deems "normal" is more relevant today than ever.

Sheep's Clothing by Elin Gregory - 3.5 stars
Werewolf and plumber extraordinaire, Darren Murchison, has just moved to the Welsh countryside for a change in scenery and to help hide his secret. Little does he know that he now lives in a village of shifters, particularly a tall, bear of man, Gethin, who is rough around the edges, but definitely has a soft side.

Even though I knew, going into this story, that it was about werewolves, I found the choice of animal to represent the village shifters refreshing, different and unexpected. The relationship between the two MCs developed at a good pace and I could almost feel the sexual tension rolling off of them in waves.

It Could Be You by Anyta Sunday - 3 stars
Cute story about childhood friends and roommates. Ted has just won the lottery for £15 million, but cannot remember where he put the ticket. He and his best friend and crush, Jenson, retrace their steps, but Jenson has something very important he needs to get of his chest.

This is a cute and uncomplicated GFY story. Readers learn how the MCs became so close and get a glimpse of their secret feelings for one another. A nice, quick read.

Just Like Pulling Teeth by L.J. Harris - 4.5 stars
When Aiden Cooper visits a new dentist to have his wisdom teeth removed, he never imagined the man would be one of the sexiest men he's ever met. Tall, dark and handsome, Sebastian Gibbs is enchanted by his patient and hopes they can get to know each other better...if only Aiden could be as brave and forthcoming without laughing gas!

This is an adorable story that I really enjoyed. All of the characters are very likable and I found myself not only rooting for the couple, but wishing I had a Sebastian of my very own. Sebastian speaking Portuguese was extremely sexy and, like Aiden, I immediately fell under his spell.

DIY Delights by Taylin Clavelli - 3 stars
Nice story about an established couple, Duncan and Mike, as they renovate their new home and Duncan explains his immense love of bollocks...in all forms and meanings.

In the Blue Moonlight by H. Lewis-Foster - 3 stars
Simon and Mark first met under rather comical circumstances. Some time later they are properly introduced and develop a comfortable relationship. The only problem is that Mark, a police officer, never comes to Simon's house and never invites Simon to his. Simon begins to worry that Mark isn't being as up front as he should and decides to end things. Is he just overreacting or does Mark truly have a deep, dark secret?

Sweet and uncomplicated, In the Blue Moonlight is a nice story with nice characters. I sometimes felt like the story was a bit rushed, but overall it was an enjoyable, quick read.

It's Written in the Stars by Lily Velden - 4 stars
Sebastian Robson is encouraged by his best friend, Declan, to try out for the dating show Written in the Stars. Sebastian is very reluctant, but Declan, who also happens to work on the show, assures him that he'll help Sebastian put his best foot forward. However, when the cameras start rolling, will Sebastian stick to the coaching he's received or go his own way?

Adorable, funny and silly, It's Written in the Stars had me chuckling out loud. I liked how utterly awkward Sebastian is, but at the same time I respected that he could only be himself when it came down to it. I wouldn't mind reading about Sebastian, or even Declan, in a future story since all of the characters were quite likable and relatable.

The publisher provided an ARC of Bollocks! in exchange for an honest review.

Anthologies can be hit or miss with what you get, generally I consider it a good one if most stories are in the 3 star range, with a few ones or twos, and a few fours and fives. I really only loved one of these stories, so I wouldn't consider it the best anthology I've read, but the majority were enjoyable. Certainly if you see that a handful of the stories on here catch your eye, I think it's worth getting the grouping instead of buying them individually. I read this quicker than usual since I was reviewing it, but this would be great to keep on your Nook or Kindle for when you want an easy and quick read, and pick and chose which stories you want to read over time.

Healing by Tabitha McGowan 2.75 stars (fantasy, no sex) - This was a really interesting story about a young healer in a world where witches are dissected by the government when caught. Bartholomew forms a bond with a man he heals, although unfortunately, it ends when it should begin! There were a lot of components here that I think could have been fleshed out really well into a full length story with some real meat to it.

Sheep's Clothing by Elin Gregory 3.5 stars (paranormal romance, shifters) - This was a sweet and funny little story that gives us something different from the usual werewolf shifter stuff. I believed Darren and Gareth's connection. It felt a tad fast but they brushed over a few weeks between the initial get-together and the climax, so that put a longer time frame on it, which I appreciate.

No Worries Mate by E.S. Skipper DNF (contemporary) - Very odd story behind this author, not sure if it affected how I felt about this story, but I just couldn't get into it. Jake was an ass, about pretty much everything. Then Rangi was an ass, about Jake accidentally almost bringing two grains of wheat onto the island. It was just weird and I really didn't care at all. Maybe I'll try again later.

It Could Be You by Anyta Sunday 3 stars (contemporary, friends-to-lovers, GFY, no sex) - This was a short and sweet story from the POV of a young gay man who is on love with his straight BFF/roommate. Certainly a plot I've read before, but still enjoyable. Ted's explanation for all his lucky numbers (and that most of them have to do with Jensen) was really sweet.

Just like pulling teeth by L.J. Harris 3 stars (contemporary) - This is a sweet little story. It was a little slow to get going, with a few too many boring details about Aiden's life. But I liked seeing him and Sebastian interact once things got going. And the sex was certainly hot with a little unexpected role reversal. I didn't love everything, I'm not a fan of when a character is constantly "gasping" and dropping things and weak kneed simply from looking at an attractive person, and no one should be pressured into getting a tattoo . But overall a good short story.

DIY Delights by Taylin Clavelli 4 stars (contemporary, pre-exisiting couple, humorous) - This a short, fun, and silly little snippet. I'm not usually a fan of pre-existing couples, but since this spanned Duncan's entire history with the word 'Bollocks!' we still got a lot of variety. "Mike and I were like a bair of bollocks. One on it's own would be functional, but lost without the other."

In the Blue Moonlight by H. Lewis-Foster 2.5 stars (contemporary) - This wasn't bad, it was just a bit dull. Off to a fun and flirty start, things fizzle a bit once Simon and Mark actually start dating. I appreciate the authors attempt to put in a genuine relationship obstacle in order to make it feel more real. But I didn't find Simon's ultimatum playful , and I found Mark's final reveal awkward and anti-climactic. Unfortunately by then I had lost steam, so the sex scene didn't do anything for me (and I actually skimmed it!)

It’s Written in the Stars by Lily Velden 5 stars (contemporary, no sex) - Ohmygod with the motherfucking cuteness! I thought this was going to be a sneak-attack friends-to-lovers with Sebastian's friend Declan, but nope!, he really does go on the game show! Sweet and funny and sympathy sweaty palms, I thoroughly enjoyed this and had a smile on my face pretty much the entire time!

With this intriguing and eclectic blend of m/m short stories Wayward Ink Publishing has come roaring out of the gate and has me excited for their future! The majority of the stories in this anthology are contemporary in nature but there are two that put a paranormal twist on their storytelling with nice results. There's also differing degrees of sexual intensity ranging from merely sweet to super steamy which gives a little something to every reader. Ultimately, while there wasn't a story that I didn't like, some worked for me better than others with writing styles more polished than others....

Healing was an intriguing and atmospheric fantasy read with a premise that immediately grabbed my attention as a deformed young man with magical healing talents is on the run from persecution when he runs into a man with secrets of his own that puts his life on the line for him. This one left me wanting to scream as it was just getting good when it ended and I ssssoooo want to see more of these two and their struggles to reach a HEA. If, or when, Ms. McGowan revisits this world I'm definitely there.

It Could Be You is a sweet story that put a smile on my face as a young man spends the afternoon looking for his lost lotto ticket while trying to tell his best friend he's in love with him. There's awkwardness, laughter, and lots of warm fuzzies as they both dance around each other trying to define their relationship. Virtually no sex but lots of sexual tension that made for a feel good story.

It's Written In The Stars is by far my favorite courtesy of its delightful banter and fun and timely premise of TV dating shows. The lead character gets roped into being a contestant with his friend grooming him to be victorious with unexpectedly hilarious results. Sebastian is immensely likable with his outspoken nature and irreverent way of looking at things. This one was all about the foreplay, verbal that is as there's no sexual contact, and considering how enjoyable I found the banter I didn't miss the steam at all.

From start to finish I found this to be an enjoyable read with a collection of stories that meet every readers needs with their variety of sexiness and genres. Some felt more well-rounded and polished than others but all of them show great promise to the authors themselves and this new publisher as well. Fans of the m/m genre will find this an immensely satisfying anthology and will want to keep an eye out for what this publisher plans for us next.

The Sinfully Sexy M/M Reviewing Team got together and chose two short stories each at random to review. What fun we had and you can read our thoughts on each story below and for each short story wrote a quickie review.

Healing by Tabitha McGowan

Monique’s Quickie

I have to be honest here and say I am not very good with anthologies, or should I say short stories. I am one of those readers that needs to connect to the emotion in a book and with shorts I seem to come away either unsatisfied or left wanting more. With Healing I definitely came away from it with the latter. It felt like a moment in time, a teaser into the lives of these two men. We don’t actually see the romance either, just the promise of what could come. I loved the whole premise of this short, and found myself curious about the world they lived in and totally smitten with both Tol and Immanuil.

This is a paranormal romance with a dystopian feel to it, again, I so want to explore this world they live in. Tol is a healer who unselfishly, and at the risk to his own health has dedicated his life to helping and healing others, but it’s not only his health that is at risk but also his life. Tol is resigned to his fate, but not in a bad way because he has such a big heart and vibrant personality, he’s funny and embraces life regardless of the dangers he faces. Immanuil, comes across as a warrior, fearless, a loner, but somehow Tol touches a place inside him that warms the coldness he seemed to be shrouded in.

Healing was a fabulous introduction for me to Tabitha McGowan and I was totally impressed with her writing in this short. All that remains is… When will you be writing the novel???

Well the thing with choosing stories at random is you never no what you’re going to get. I always say I’m seriously not into shifter stories and when I knew that I had got one firslty I thought “oh bollocks” then I said well lets give it a go. If I’m going to trust any author then it’ll be Elin. I’m delighted to say that I was not disappointed. This shifter story is based in Wales and there are weresheep. So I guess I liked the irony in this for a start, if it’s going to be in Wales then you can't have a story without sheep – lol! Darren is a werewolf and plumber, disillusioned with his pack in London has moved to Wales. One problem as a werewolf and lots of sheep around then you would think he is in werewolf paradise.

Well, he starts to make friends and is attracted very much to Gethin a local farmer. When he changes and goes hunting one night he is defended off attacking a flock of sheep by a couple of very aggressive rams. They turn out to be weresheep and Gethin is one. As he falls for Gethin he is put in a complete quandary about how to control his urges and not harm the sheep when he changes and therefore comes up with a plan with Gethin to keep himself contained so he can’t go sheep worrying. I just loved the whole idea about Welsh weresheep fending off werewolves sort of made the story for me. It was very well written and enjoyed it very much. So my first successful foray into the shifter genre – thank you Elin.

Oh, I liked this one too. How you can so easily confuse bullocks with bollocks. The Blue Lagoon meets M/M Romance. Jake goes to New Zealand as a photographer and is taken to a remote island protected for conservations reasons by a ranger called Rangi a local Maori. Again I loved the humour here, Jake is going to an island with no modern facilities, so city boy meets the country and this causes for some really funny moments. Well, I suppose if you’re on a remote tropical island then there is always the danger of attraction. But my did the fireworks fly with chemistry between these two very different characters. The place and setting was a dream, who couldn’t get all romantic and as for Rangi – phew!!! What a hunk!

I just loved the way Rangi would tease Jake about his lack of knowledge of surviving in the wilds so to speak. They spend a wonderful couple of weeks together, but alas Jake has to go back. Although Rangi loves his island he is torn when having to lose Jake, the loneliness of the island I reckon hits home. All is not lost and they find a way to be together with a very nice HEA.

It Could Be You by Anyta Sunday

Tina’s Quickie

What would you do if it FINALLY happens and YOUR numbers are showing up, your lucky numbers for years and you turn your pockets inside out and realise you must have lost your bloody ticket and fifteen million quid?

You’d scream BOLLOCKS, I’m quite sure you would.

That’s exactly what Ted does… Ted, who is madly in love with his best friend and roommate Jenson… Jenson, who is surprised when he learns about the meaning behind those numbers and has a few secrets of his own.

Anyta’s writing style is cheerful and witty and I really enjoyed reading her easygoing and entertaining short story. It kept a silly smile on my face from the beginning to the end. Those two were just too cute to be real and I didn’t want this little glimpse into their life to end. Brilliant done!

Just Like Pulling Teeth by L.J. Harris

Macky’s Quickie

Okay I think there was a conspiracy going on at Sinfully because I kid you not, in about two weeks I'm going to the dentist for an extraction and some work on a wisdom tooth.. So guess who got the story about the dentist?

"OH BOLLOCKS!!!!"

Mind you if my dentist was half as hot as Aiden Coopers new one in this cute short story then I'd be on the blower asking if they could bring my appointment forward ASAP! Oh my! Dr Sebastian Gibbs...tall, dark, tattoed and half Brazilian. Pass me the 'sucky up thingy' the nurse puts in your mouth because I'm drooling just thinking about him. When was the last time a dentist whispered these words in your ear:

"You're doing well, meu querido," (said in a sexy, deep, caressing, 'wafty' way!)

Mine just mumbles through his mask "Everything okay, down there?" while he pokes around and I try to answer his questions with my mouth wide open.. "Ahm oh-ay, ankoo"

Poor Aiden's having a hell of a time with all four of his aching wisdom teeth so who better to make it better and as painless as possible than Dr Seb. With his tattered jeans, tight tank top, gorgeous green eyes and his wafty dulcet tones. Aiden's going to lose all four teeth in the long run but he's also in danger of losing his heart as well!

This was a fun, sweet smexy read that had me smiling (wincing at times)and sighing happily as Adrien got his sexy man— in a slightly more unusual way. Let's just say Aiden losing his inhibitions under the influence of laughing gas gave Sebastian a snippet of information about Aidens anatomy that he probably wasn't expecting. *snort* A story of Ouch's...Owww's...Ahhhh's and Awwwww's! Oh and quite a few cries of " Bollocks!!! " as well. Very enjoyable!

Oh and there's a Brazilian Jaguar and a British lion too... What have those got to do with dentists? Read it and you'll find out!

I can only say this story was a load of bollocks!! No... really ...it was...but not in that sense of the word! Haha.

Do you remember the scene in the film Roxanne with Steve Martin, when he comes up with the

'20 different ways to insult a big nose?' Well Duncan, the MC of this funny little short, does the equivalent throughout the story with the different situations you would use the word "Bollocks."

Accident...Frustration...Wonder...Statement...Action...Description...

Dunc says "bollocks" a lot! Mind you when he and Mike purchase their first house together, a little cottage they call Gayden—love that name—they pretty much go through all the above

Basically this is all about them lovingly renovating their quaint but dilapidated new home whilst living in a caravan as they do it, so there's lots of instances when those different uses of the expletive"Bollocks" gets put into play, as you can probably imagine. For example: at times they have to move back in with Duncs mum and dad and trying to have sex with the 'rents around is obviously going to produces a few frustrated cries of "Bollocks" from our two guys. Duncs favourite use of the word is when its used as 'Fact'...you'll find out why when you read it and I'm pretty sure its Mikes favourite way of using it too because our Dunc has a fascination with bollocks in the true sense of the word *cough*

"Bollocks are my kink, I love them. Walnuts don't do it for me. Give me something big, heavy and slapping."...

Aaaaaand, I might add, in the trouser department, Mike ain't no slouch! Lol.

Nice, laid back, fun read.

In the Blue Moonlight by H. Lewis-Foster

Monique’s Quickie

More than Bollocks were on show when Simon decides it’s a good idea to drop his trousers and moon the local constabulary, all harmless fun on a night out with his younger brother Sean and his friends, but totally out of character for our lonely, old before his time, boring accountant Simon. Now as students you can understand this moment of revelry from Sean and his mates, but Simon is a thirty year old, deputy finance officer, nice house, car and good standing within the local community…

And according to his best friend Chris…

Chris peered over the top of his spectacles. “You, my friend, are having a mid-life crisis”

The solution…
“…You need to meet someone. I’m not saying you need to marry him. Just have a dance and a snog”

The Place…
“We are having a night out at Preston’s."

The last person Simon expects to meet there was the cute blond bobby who was more familiar with his bare arse than he was with his face…
“I didn’t recognize you with your trousers on”

This is a sweet, small town, rural community love story… and coming from one of those myself I could appreciate the humour and the issues both men faced in their budding romance.

It did all seem a little rushed, but it’s a short story, one which was fun and quirky, and overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You say it was fate.

That led you to that date.

You call it kismet.

That made you take that bet.

Maybe destiny’s the word.

You would have preferred.

Doesn’t matter which you use.

It’s Written in the Stars.

Oh yeah, Written in the Stars!

Every time Sebastian hears this opening tune he knows it’s time for the Sunday TV dating show ‘Written in the Stars’ his best friend and roommate Declan loves so much. This Sunday is special, though. Declan is determined to coax Sebastian into applying to the show.

Of course Sebastian thinks that Declan’s idea is bollocks, because he is gay and ‘Written in the Stars’ pair up only guys and girls. If there wasn’t the Valentine special coming up where they are doing a guy meets guy episode. Sebastian gives in and the way is open for the most hilarious TV show ever…

Guys… I won’t go into more details but Lily’s short story is just… the dog’s BOLLOCKS! I enjoyed it immensely and can’t recommend it enough. Thanks Lily for this really funny read.

British anthology, stories include:

Healing by Tabitha McGowan (1-8% - 8%)
Blurb: Werewolf meets human healer, and snuggling ensues... but not till the danger that's threatening them both has been dealth with...

A snap shot of a dystopian world where a hurt man meets a healer and I guess a bond is created. Too short to really mean anything, but long enough to make me want to know more. Kudos for cool names, Bartholomew and Immanuil. Alternating third person point of view.

Sheep's Clothing by Elin Gregory (8-23% 15%)
Blurb: Meet Darren Murchinson: self-employed plumber and reluctant werewolf.
** 2 stars **
Wales, werewolf and surprisingly (for me) . Too long, not very interesting, didn't get the feel for the characters. Liked the Welsh name Gethin, though.

No Worries Mate by E.S. Skipper (23-42% - 19%)
Blurb: "Who needs a partner when I have this?" Rangi said, opening his arms out as if to encompass the entire island and surrounding ocean. Who indeed...
*** 3,5 stars ***
Setting in New Zealand! Jake, a wildlife photographer, visits an island off the mainland meeting the ranger/caretaker of the island, Rangi. Heated feelings between the two on the island alone. Liked the description of the island too. I liked it, but it was a bit long, though.

It Could Be You by Anyta Sunday (42-49% - 7%)
Blurb: Ted has just won 15 million quid. Or at least, he would have won 15 million quid if he could find his bloody lottery ticket...

Game show alert! Find your next date through a TV date show. This story was short, funny and sweet. I would have loved for it to have included more story after the game show ended, but sadly not. I enjoyed it all the same.

I bought the paperback in Bristol and have it my purse and read it when I'm out and about.
So, this might take a while.

HEALING by Tabitha McGowan
This was such a great teaser, I loved the world it was set in and wanted to know so much more. But it was wayyy too short.
I was invested and interested and then it *sniff* ended on me!

SHEEP'S CLOTHING by Elin Gregory
OMG, I love shifter, and I love different and unusual shifters.
This one has that, it was a cute and fun read, and again I wouldn't have minded it being longer!

Top three stories:
Sheep’s Clothing by Elin Gregory

It Could Be You by Anyta Sunday

It’s Written in the Stars by Lily Velden

These stories are worth buying individually, but if you're going to do that, for about the same price you could probably get the whole anthology and you would get another couple of cute stories on top.

This was a very British anthology showing the various uses of the word Bollocks. All the stories were good, some were better than others but none were horrible.

Healing - This felt like the beginning of a very cool story about a crippled young healer and a shifter. Hope there's a continuation.

Wolf in Sheeps Clothing - Enjoyable little story about plumber who's moved into the country after being bit and turned only to discover he's moved where there are weresheep. Yep, weresheep!

No Worries Mate - A photographer goes to an almost deserted island, falls in love with the "caretaker" and they live HEA.

It Could Be You - A young man hears the lotto numbers and they're his but he can't find his ticket. While looking with his BFF they discover they're in lurrrrrve.

Just Like Pulling Teeth - Probably my favorite of the bunch. Hot dentist, guy with a tooth infection, laughing gas....really sweet.

DIY Delights - Funny story about all the ways bollocks can be used while a couple fixes up their house.

In the Blue Moonlight - Cop and a man he first men with is pants down. Cop closeted, no sex until he fesses up. Cute.

It's Written in the Stars - Funny story of a guy who goes on a dating show only to have verbal diarrhea when asked the questions. Still gets his man!

Bollocks! is the first book released from new publisher Wayward Ink Publishing. The anthology includes a mix of m/m stories from 8 authors and is extremely entertaining. Three stories really caught my attention:

No Worries, Mate by E.S. Skipper - first ever published work by this author
Just Like Pulling Teeth by L.J. Harris - first ever published work by this author
It’s Written in the Stars by Lily Velden - established author

I'll definitely be keeping a look out for more from these authors.

A highly entertaining, diverse collection of short stories from around the world, all incorporating the concept of the highly versatile "bollocks"! As someone who does not speak "British as a first language," I really enjoyed reading these great m/m romance tales, ranging from laugh-out-loud funny to steamy-tense-erotic to sweet-loving-wonderful. Well worth the price of admission for these stories alone, but now I have some new favorite authors on my TBR list: Lily Velden, L.J. Harris, and E.S. Skipper, to name a few.

I'll be reviewing each short on their separate pages except for E. S. Skipper's, which wasn't republished for obvious reasons (her fraud, etc.). I enjoyed the story of a English photojournalist falling for his Kiwi forest ranger/tour guide. 4/5 but I'm glad I got this through Hoopla and didn't directly pay for it.

REVIEW OF - NO WORRIES MATE by E.S. Skipper
4.5 STARS

Fascinated that is the word I would use to start off this review. Why? Because a good friend of mine told me I should check out this new author. He’s only written a story in this anthology but is working toward his own novel release.

So I was happy to pick up this story of him to read :)

I really liked it. It’s compelling and it has you reading steadily through the whole story. The style is easy and comfortable yet unique. He tells us a very complete story in a short time.

We meet Jake who is on his way to an island that’s only occupied by a ranger named Rangi, who is a native Maori and runs the island, taking care of it and protecting it (as Rangi would say).

Jake, not being used to any of this, is an easy victim for Rangi and his attitude. Some parts had me openly laughing as Rangi knows exactly how to tease and rile up Jake.

The attraction between the two men is instant but there is some serious dancing around the issue:). When they “man up| to what’s there, it is smoking hot! Kudos to the author for writing a shear perfect coupling between these two men when they finally come together.

When the time comes that Jake needs to get back, we are presented with a whole new level of questions and answers. When choices need to be made the author knows to deliver them in a sincere and understandable way, leading to a wonderful HEA.

I am happy to have come into contact with this new author and will definitely be keeping an eye out for his novel that is hopefully coming soon.

In this timeless tale of love lost and found again, Matthew finds himself still grieving over the loss of his husband Sam who had died two years earlier. Devastated and broken, Matthew never really lives his life from that moment on but just survives at best going from day to day. That was until Elliot came into his life. Slowly Elliot starts making his way into Matthew’s life first by bringing him coffee at work every morning then nudging him to go out and have lunch. This becomes a routine with them. Yet one week, Matthew doesn’t show up for work and Elliot goes to check on him at his home. Finally breaking through the last wall that was built around the heart of one grief stricken male, Elliot was able to help Matthew heal.

Even as this story was very sad at the beginning, The ending was great and the path that these two characters walked on together from start to finish gave hope that there is life after such a great loss. I found myself truly griving for Matthew but so happy and cheering for both Elliot and he that I actually had that butterfly in my chest feeling. This story was full of so much emotion that I couldn’t put it down. A must read for everyone who enjoys a good love story.

An anthology of eight short stories, loosely connected by the use of Bollocks! in the stories, ranging from use as expletives to a full glossary of how and when to use!
As a Brit, this is one of my favourites for when things go wrong.
In the stories, we range from shifters, healers, lottery winners, game show winners, game wardens, DIY, dentists and mooning policemen - a wide variety of fun, enjoyable stories.
As with most anthologies I really liked 4, found three fine and only one difficult to get into, so overall a win at 3.4* average.
