Wow! 5 stars!
This book was a journey! I had no idea what was happening, but I was so completely along for the ride.
Stephany has created a world that is beautiful and utterly unique, filled with so many different creatures and beings. And the magic system? It's unlike anything I have read so far. I loved it!
Sarita, our FMC, had such a great character arc. I honestly did not like her that much in the beginning, but just like everyone else in this book, I think I’m in love with her.
If you're looking for a book that will surprise you and take you on a journey, then you absolutely have to read this!

I could shout it from the rooftops how much I loved this book, and I likely will for the next few weeks 😅
Stephany Hilley did an amazing job keeping me guessing throughout this book. I’m honestly so impressed that she was able to foreshadow certain things without giving away what was to come. I love a book that is able to keep me on my toes!
I typically struggle with world building, either due to not understanding or just boredom, but I had ZERO issues with that while reading this book. Stephany had me hooked from the beginning.
To ensure I don’t spoil this wonderful book for others, I’ll just say that the author didn’t follow the typical tropes/template for your average fantasy/romantasy novel. The first half feels very romance heavy, while the second half is very fantasy driven. Both halves were superb, surprising, and kept me wanting more.
Sarita is a very relatable character and I didn’t feel like I was screaming at her through even half of the book, so that’s a nice change from most books I read 😂 I really liked her and loved watching her grow, but not peak. I know there’s so much more in store for her in this series.
The relationships the FMC finds along the way are complex, but authentic. I love many of the side characters as much as I love the FMC.
My ONLY negative and the ONLY reason I give this a 4/5 and not a 5/5 is the editing. There was some obvious poor grammar that was missed when this book was edited. It bothered me, however it also goes to show how much I loved this book because I was willing to look past it every time. (Also I don’t have perfect grammar, so who am I to judge)
I cannot wait to read the next book. I feel like I found a new author that I will be harassing for more books 😂
To Stephany Hilley, thank you for writing this book. I hope your pillow is always cold on both sides, because you deserve it 🖤

This was the first fantasy book that I’ve ever read- because I thought I never liked them. I guess I was wrong.. This book is amazing!!! It wouldn’t let me go so many times. I’m so excited for the second one.
