At 200 kindle locations this first part of a serial simply cannot amount to the 17 pages boasted in the blurb, at least not 17 printed-mass-market-paperback pages. I am a fast reader, but this one took about five minutes of my time.

The few lines available for the reader are enough to give a very general idea of a fantasy setting, to outline two potentially interesting lovers and to show a fluid writing. They also show an alarming tendency at inconsistencies (in people's physical traits) that forebodes trouble in a supposedly long narrative.

Be it as it may, even accepting the concept of an ongoing novel, published instalments should be decidedly longer than this.
Especially if the price is going to be $3,65 for each of them.
This sheer lack of pages coupled with the outrageous price are the reasons for the negative rating.

I'm not even going to rate this one. This is like reading little snippets of a story a book at a time. If it was all put into one book it would be more enjoyable. Altogether the stories amount to 20,768 words which would cost 2.97 which is very doable so why not put them all into one book? I don't get it when authors do this. Then there is a book containing books 1-3 for 2.99. Huh? Seems like a pretty good story (got book 1 free at ARe) but no thanks. Sorry.
