This Halloween, while others celebrate with candy and costumes, brace yourself for a different kind of horror.
They call me Devil for a reason. I thrive in chaos, relishing the power that comes with death and destruction. I roam the shadows, a predator in the night, driven by one leave no witnesses.
Emory and her little girl, Mina, thought they’d enjoy a weekend of laughter and festivities. Little did they know, fate had a far more sinister plan in store. Now, their innocent night at the festival has spiraled into a nightmare – and I’m at the center of it.
When the moon rises and the darkness deepens, I’ll ensure that this Halloween doesn’t just pass—it becomes a night to remember. If I can't take them out, perhaps I'll just keep them. Even the Devil can be tamed.
What’s scarier than ghosts and monsters? The reality of a darkness that walks among us...
Harley Wylde is the International Bestselling Author of the Dixie Reapers MC, Devil's Boneyard MC, and Hades Abyss MC series.
When Harley's writing, her motto is the hotter the better -- off the charts sex, commanding men, and the women who can't deny them. If you want men who talk dirty, are sexy as hell, and take what they want, then you've come to the right place. She doesn't shy away from the dangers and nastiness in the world, bringing those realities to the pages of her books, but always gives her characters a happily-ever-after and makes sure the bad guys get what they deserve.
The times Harley isn't writing, she's thinking up naughty things to do to her husband, drinking copious amounts of Starbucks, and reading. She loves to read and devours a book a day, sometimes more. She's also fond of TV shows and movies from the 1980's, as well as paranormal shows from the 1990's to today, even though she'd much rather be reading or writing.

This mafia romance set on a spooky Halloween isn’t your usual candy-and-costumes read—it’s a dark, gripping romance that blends danger, obsession, and unexpected tenderness. They call him Devil for a reason, and the author does an incredible job making you both fear and fall for him. The tension builds beautifully from page one, a slow burn that keeps your heart racing until the very end.
Emory and little Mina add such depth to the story—what starts as a night of innocent fun for Mina trick-or-treating in her fav unicorn costume quickly twists into something much more sinister. As fate would have it, they are destined to meet Luca. Their witnesses of him in a compromising position reveals the reason for his name. It’s sparks and intense drama from the start! I loved the push and pull between Devil’s ruthless nature and the glimmers of humanity that peek through. This character was very well written and the story unpredictable! I was honestly torn, hoping for a happy ending but bracing for heartbreak. (No spoilers here!)
Another knockout story from this author! Loving the return to the mafia world! 👏👏👏
Emory and her daughter Mina were ready for Halloween. Mina, in her unicorn costume and Emory in her cat ears. Filling her pumpkin basket with candy at each home. Luca was not a good man. He wasn’t called the Devil for nothing. When a mother and daughter are a witness to a murder, he has to decide what to do with them. Being taken and held captive is one thing but no one touches Mina. You think the story is going to be really dark. In a way it is. Emory and Mina getting taggled up with the Moretti mob. But it is more then that. We learn about how Luca came to be the way he is. There are other forces seeing his taking of them as a weakness. Emory breaks down his walls and finds the man that has honor. Luca sees Emory’s strength and what she will do to protect her daughter. It’s a fun story. I like the spin and it shows that a woman can be strong and find the softness in a man.
31 Days Of Trick Or Treat Bikers and Mobsters brinks us The Devil's Embrace. This is Emory and Mina Scott and Luca "The Devil" Moretti's story. HOLY HADES what a story! Emory and Luca most definitely didn't have a conventional meeting and definitely didn't start off on the right foot. Luca bringing innocents into his world wasn't the norm anymore than Emory subjecting Mina to danger was, but here we are. And what a freakin ride it is! From start to finish this story is jam packed with excitement, danger, intrigue, twists, turns and drama and ALL of it keeps you on the edge of your seat every second. This is a fantastic addition to the 31 Days of Trick or Treat Bikers and Mobsters world!
"The Devil had found something worth protecting, something more valuable than power."
Harley has outdone herself again with this dark, gripping, and oh-so-delicious novel. I loved it! The pacing is great, the world-building is amazing, and the characters are super well done.
Luca is a cold, calculating guy living in a violent world, but he has a strong sense of right and wrong. Emory is a single mom to her cute little girl Mina (who LOVES her unicorns) and she’s strong, caring, and doesn’t take any nonsense.
When these two meet, things aren’t exactly smooth sailing, but the slow burn and sizzling chemistry totally pay off. And yes, the HEA is everything you want it to be. Honestly, Harley is always a safe bet if you want a character-driven, intense romance.
This book is a little different from what Harley usually writes. Her characters usually have a pull to each from the beginning. With Emory and Luca, they meet under less than ideal circumstances which leads to Luca taking Mina and her daughter. Mina shows her strength by attempting to do anything to protect her daughter. This is what catches Luca’s eye. This leads them all on an unexpected journey. Luca is a hard character to like at the beginning but trust the author to turn your thoughts around.
He comes by his name honestly and his calling card is always death. He's a man you love to hate but he does have some redeeming qualities as well especially when it comes to Emory and Mina. I loved this story it is descriptive and has a lot of depth in the character development that kept me glued to the pages. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
Luca Moretti is a made man that was raised Mateo to be his successor. Emory is a single mother who sacrifices so much to make sure that her daughter has an amazing Halloween as a unicorn. Emory and Mina see something that shouldn't be and end up in Luca's care. Luca and Emory are from different worlds, but it's enough to set them on a course to see what can come from it.
A dark, twisted, raw and gritty ride to go on. Luca, Emory and Mina did not meet in the best of ways and what transpires after will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you breathless in the end. I absolutely enjoyed going on this intense adventure with them.
unfortunately, I didn't like the story or the characters, especially the heroine, and ending with skimming the last chapters. I like the other Mafia books from this author, but this one was really awful, well for me anyway. so very disappointing, since I was looking forward to revisiting the Mafia world
This book was so good. You want to hate Luca and for a moment you do until you realize what he would do for Emory and Mina. Emory is torn because she shouldn’t want what she wants. Mina is the cutest!
OMG! This book was so good!! Good characters and storyline along with so many twists and turns. Keeps your attention from the start, didn't want to put it down! Way to go Harley Wylde!
Great book. Very different from what Harley usually writes. But different is great. The ending could use a second epilogue. I need to know what happened with the proposal and new baby.
Luca was always called the devil til Mina and Emory caught him in an alley. He protects them from his uncle. I loved the interaction with Luca and Mina. Emory falls for Luca and helps him. I loved the mafia book. I can't wait for more
