Antoine De’ Lune, the old werewolf King, was killed by his son, and no longer poses a threat.
Jessica has taken her place as the white wolf ruler, and now the wonderful life she has always dreamed of is in her grasp.

I loved this book. This series has kept me intrigued throughout. The story was still strong. There is danger, deceit, love, loss and triumph! I will continue with this series. I find it refreshing and a different take on werewolves. Which pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Jessica is still strong and sassy which makes me love her still. If you enjoyed the first two stories this one will not disappoint. I recommend this to all supernatural readers there is a little everything witches vampires wolves and hunters.
Mikael that boy sure knows how to pounce on his woman, "in the space of a breath, he was stalking towards me, his towel lost along the way, as he climbed across the bed to get me." Can you say hot!?! He says the nicest things, "the sexy as hell grin on his face had me turning in his arms, and climbing back on top of him again. "hell, if I didn't know any better I'd say you were like a b**** in heat right now." Upon seeing my pouty face starting up, he added on, "not that I mind at all." He's so playful when he's with his woman and I loved it, "Mikael had come into the room and made a bee-line straight for the bed. He leaned over and playfully bit me on the butt. "And what a fine a** it is!" I had other highlights and notes in the book but then I realized I can't really talk about those as it gives s*** away so you got the sexy good notes (*winks*) Once again you wouldn't need to read the next book in the series as it ends on a note that would satisfy you, well, I mean the main characters are good, but there's a tad bit of a lead for the next book.
so awesome. seriously best one in this series. cannot wait for book four to come out. everyone needs to read this book and this series. I want all these books to be turned into movies!!!
Gah!!!!!!!!!! LOVE this series! Can't wait to read the final book! This one was just as good as the others and I am falling in love with this author! A must read :)
I got my answer in this book about the bad one's theory. Hopefully, we will get to read about his happy ending from the last book. I wondered what else would happen since the team had already defeated the main enemies. Will it be something related to the elder hunter?
I'm interested to find out more about the Locks. It sounds exciting and dangerous. Also, I wish we would get to read about Jess's daughter fast-forwarded to a few years, at least. I can't wait to find out what comes next!
This was good. Maybe not quite as good as the last book but then that was awesome. Also I think perhaps I'm missing pieces of the story, maybe there are some short novellas hidden somewhere because occasionally something will be mentioned that implies I should know about it already or hints at something else going on... anyway, that didn't put me off, this is still a great, easy read series.
This series just gets better and better. We now know that Jess' true mate is Mikael and they are very well suited. Despite his heartbreak, Evan concedes that Mikael was the better match and despite their previous hostilities, Evan and Mikael joined forces to bring down their father. With the King dead, you'd think that all their troubles were over..... not in the slightest!
We encounter Serena a lot more in this book and between her and the previous white wolves, we learn so much more about the history of the werewolves. Jess is still at risk because Malachai and his little crew which also included Zach and Sophia were able to make their escape and become fugitives in the process. After an unexpected event, Jess wakes up from a drug induced sleep to find herself captive in a cage for the 3rd time and at the mercy of Sophia and Zach.
At no point does the story slow down and the twists are plentiful. We learn that vampires exist along with the werewolves and witches and that they actually originate from the witches themselves. Both Ashley and Jess find themselves pregnant whilst Sierra finds herself raising a baby boy.
I was so engrossed in this book that I read it in a day instead of doing my decorating! I really hope that book 4 gives Jess her happily ever after.
I'd give the latest book in this series 4.5 stars. While book 2 ended up on a non-cliffhanger, this book picks up right where book 2 left off. Jess is coming into her own as a leader, earning the respect of the elders of the rest of the clans. Well most, because if everyone just fell into line, where would the story go? I loved watching the relationship between Mikael and Jess grow, he not only loves her but respects her as well and truly completes her as a person. It was interesting learning more about the first white wolves, and actually the original wolves and the origin of the species. I'd love to learn even more about the witch siblings and the dark ones. I can't wait to see more of the new characters, especially a certain snarky male. And I hope we see more of Evan and Natalie :) There was one part of the story that failed to capture my attention 100% but that could be because I was too eager to know the answers to some other things and was getting impatient. :) This book didn't end on a cliffhanger either, but I can't wait to get my hands on the next one because there are just things I need to know!
Jessica sure has her hands full with being a new Mate, leader, and White Wolf to the supernatural world. She has much to do with dealing with her persistent and vengeful enemies and building back up the werewolf population.
On top of all of that, things are heating up between Jess and Mikael. Many surprises are in store for them in this third addition to the Ancients series, as well as many trials to face. But they will be stronger for the challenges they endure, and more determined than ever through their little surprise.
Loved reading this series had to keep going one book after another.
Really enjoyed this series love the other world type stories. found it hard to stop reading as wanted to know what was going to happen. feel these books.are suited to late teens thru to what ever age. any one who has an appreciation of.the imagination and the possibility that there is something else.
This is the third in a series of books about a clan of werewolves and a woman who becomes the fulfillment of legend as the “white wolf”. It is a paranormal romance – with her love interests being two werewolves who are “ancients”. I have read the first three in this series and would like to read more.
I have read this series and so far it does interest me the way the story is told. it has mystery romance and thrills to be thought about as you read.I look forward to the next book.
I have to say that this book was slightly disappointing compared to the last two I feel as though there wasn't as much detail as was in the rest of the series so far. A good plot continuation but just not as good in my eyes.
Once again Christine Butler has delivered! There is just as much action, drama, romance, and intrigue as the first two books. If you like any of those, then you won't want to miss Branches of the Willow. Make sure you read them in order though! They are definitely not standalones.
I love Jess and Mikael!!!! Even Evan redeem himself. Ashley is the best!!! This story was a great continuation ofbthe series and I fell in love with the characters and story even more. Good Read!!!!!!!
I always enjoy a strong woman character and that's Jess. I really enjoy the relationship between Jess and Mikael. He completes her. This book has everything. Action and romance. Love the characters
Ok I am happy to have an explanation for Mikael's behavior in the first book which actually makes some sense given his seemingly complete character change in the second book.
