Girl Code: A Single Girl's Guide to Sex and Dating

Rate this book
Girl Code is what I do every day so I can respect myself as a person.
- Tanisha Long

Girl Code was born at the first Paleolithic slumber party 2.5 million years ago. Over several eons it has been sculpted and refined as mothers, daughters, sisters, and girlfriends have passed it down across millions of generations of women. But it’s been a secret . . . until now.

Never so bluntly discussed until the hit MTV show, this hilarious ultra-candid book is deep dive into the issues every single girl faces in this complicated world.

Should I have sent that text? Is the wrong guy the right guy right now? Is this sweater too slutty…or not slutty enough?

Girl Code doesn’t tell us how to be a good girl so much as how to be good at being a girl. If there are rules, they are flexible—and don’t apply at all when you have your period. Living the Code is being awesome without making other girls hate you, never settling for less than what you deserve, knowing how your body works, so you can teach him how to work it, and, once in a while, letting guys think they're the smart ones.

Occasionally, we make poor choices. Hopefully we learn from them. Through it all, we share our experiences with other girls and stick together. With Girl Code, you can learn to get through any situation with as little drama as possible. Because it’s not about what you did the night before, it’s about owning it the next day.

I go back and read parts of this book when I feel like I just don't understand what I want (typical women I know) . I always laugh and feel so much more better and empowered to go be a girl.
