I began reading my mom’s Harlequin Presents in the fifth grade, and from the first story I knew I wanted to write romance novels.
I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate high rollers. I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box. I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.
I’ve been pretty fortunate in life to experience some amazing things. I’ve lived in France, traveled throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
I am a mom to an amazing boy. I live in Los Angeles, surrounded by friends and family. I hate washing dishes but I love cooking. I hate washing clothes but I love wearing them.
Writing my bio is difficult because I never know what to say so I hope you like this one. My favorite color is red but I look best in black (it’s slimming). I hate people who don't pick up their dog's crap in public places, people who don’t use turn signals, and I really hate people who are rude and condescending. I especially hate discrimination in all and every form. And although I love holding a book in my hand, I absolutely adore my e-reader, whom I’ve named Ruby. So many books at the touch of a button!
Also, Elizabeth Monvey is my pseudonym for writing steamy MM romance. LOVE is LOVE!

I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on:
If you like sci-fi space ménage futuristic. Then you have it. I am always hesitant to read a couple becoming a ménage a Trois. But as usual Beth D Carter showed that it is possible to add a third along the way. I fear the third would be a caveman but I was wrong. The story made sense, even if I found here and there few inconsistencies because the story was short. I always have a problem when a character fall madly in love within few hours/days. But the author made it work to transform lust into love. The captain’s choice was another moment that did not sit well for me. How they became fluent within 6mo too... Now, this said, I loved that both guys were not friends at first. Loved it! Such a nice change. I enjoyed the relationship. I enjoyed the back story. And it was well writen. This is not a new published book but definitely worth it to read anytime!
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
When I read the blurb for Proposition by Beth D. Carter, my curiosity was piqued. After all, it’s not typical for a ménage romance to begin with a happily married couple who then add a third. I wondered how Ms. Carter was going to make this trio work and would I find it believable. Fortunately for me, Ms. Carter did an amazing job and I not only bought these characters as a triad, but found myself cheering for them to find their happy ending.
Geoff and Keirah are happily married but Earth is dying and Geoff resorts to desperate measures to ensure his wife’s safety. He has found an alien world that seeks out human mates for breeding and an auction house that will accept married couples so the two can still stay together. After their shuttle is attacked, Keirah comes to the attention of Captain Krig who is instantly attracted to her. Krig wants Keirah as his mate and is willing to accept Geoff for now. Everything changes when they are attacked by an alien bent on revenge and the two men have to work together to ensure Keirah’s safety.
Since cheating spouses is a definite turn off for me, I was worried if I would be able to accept Keirah being with another man. Turns out I shouldn’t have worried because Ms. Carter did an admirable job in allaying my fears. By having Geoff and Keirah discuss their own thoughts and feelings about the situation, I was able to look at the relationship between Krig and Keirah with acceptance. In fact, their discussions mirrored my internal struggle with the concept so perfectly that it was almost as if Ms. Carter could read my mind.
The story is full of emotion and I felt for each of the characters. I understood Geoff’s sacrifice for his wife, Keirah’s struggle between her love for her husband and her attraction with Krig, and Krig’s own desires for Keirah. The connection between the three was scorching and I completely bought into the idea that this relationship could work. I appreciated the fact that Ms. Carter gave enough attention to the relationship between the two men to help me accept that they could put their jealousy aside and work together to ensure Keirah’s happiness.
Proposition is the third book in the Planet Alpha series. Proposition can be read as a standalone without any confusion but I would still recommend reading the other books in the series if for no other reason than they are entertaining and fun. I have read several of the books and enjoyed them all. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this exciting series.
This was a lot different to the others in as much as the heroine was already happily married before meeting her Alphan mate. I liked the way Beth managed to show how the two guys interacted with each other without making the whole story clichéd and sloppy. I hope that the Planet Alpha stories continue to be this good.
