Summers in Seaside

Summer Break

Rate this book
It’s summer break for high school English teacher and single dad, Miles Harris. Although he and his daughter love their home, he’s decided to make a big move. He fell in love with Seaside, Oregon after helping his friend move to the coastal town. Making this move is a chance he’s willing to take in order to give his daughter a better life. He’s not looking for a relationship, but when he meets Sophie Hyde, all bets are off.

Sophie is on a summer break of her own. But not from her job as the owner of Booked at the Beach, one of Seaside’s favorite local bookstores. She’s declared this summer a break from dating. She’s tired of the slew of crude men she’s encountered on dating apps, so she’s vowed to dedicate the summer to herself––no men.

Then she meets Miles. He’s everything she wants in a man––kind, caring, educated, not to mention attractive and one hell of a kisser. But she’s promised herself a summer break from men. She can’t allow herself to cave to the first man she meets.

Sophie is determined to stick to her summer break, but will Miles’ determination win her heart?

Welcome Home

Miles decides that moving to Seaside will be the best place to raise his daughter, but he did not expect to find Sophie. The chemistry between these two is magnetic and hard to ignore which added a little pressure to their self-expectations. Despite the promises made to themselves they agreed to enjoy the summer. I could not get enough and enjoyed every minute.

This is a quick read that packs a punch.
From the first read you want to know what happens with Mike's and Ariel.
When Mike's decides to move to Seaside to raise is precocious daughter Ariel, doesn't think his life will change.
Sophia has decided to change her life by swearing off men and dating apps.
When these two meet the chemistry is immediate. Neither was looking for this buf neither can deny it.
You'll get so wrapped up in these two you won't realize you've read ths entire book.

Miles & Sophie
Miles has been lonely as a single dad & is moving them to the town of Seaside to be near his friend. Sophie has decided to have a summer break from dating due to a string of dud dates. There is chemistry as soon as they meet & with some subtle help from friends they spend more time together. It is quite fast paced but it doesn't feel OTT or unrealistic. Sophie's interactions with Ariel are well written & lovely.

This was a good summer reading book. I enjoyed the characters with their interactions. I felt like this book was over so fast, totally immersed in the story.
