Rate this book
Blending the cosmic giggles of Discordianism with the reality-warping wizardry of Chaos Magic, this book is your ticket to the wildest magical ride this side of the multiverse.

Step into the swirling vortex of Chaos Witchcraft with Thumper Forge's mind-bending guide and prepare to have your magical reality turned inside out as you dance with Eris, the cosmic trickster herself. Forge, a Chaos Witch extraordinaire and Gardnerian Wiccan, serves as your witty tour guide through the topsy-turvy realms of Chaos Magic and Discordianism. Learn to bend belief like a spoon, craft sigils that make the universe giggle, and summon parking spots with the grace of a sorcerer.

With a wink and a cackle, Forge teaches you to embrace the absurd, harness the power of paradigm parkour, and discover why sometimes the most powerful magic comes with a side of laughter.

I appreciated the disclaimer in the front of this book
claiming that this may not fill a psychological need
that the reader may have. Some folks go into some
books seeking answers to questions that may best
be answered by a trained professional.

“The concept of paradigm shifting or using belief as a magical tool is an unmistakable hallmark of chaos magic…”

“Chaos is not, nor has it ever been the opposite of Order. The opposite of Order is disorder”

The author talks about people hearing the phrase “chaos magic” and think that it’s evil or disorganized when in
fact, in many contexts, chaos means, “action based”. I
truly liked the “Discordian Dance Breaks” which were single pages flipped upside down to give you a different perspective or offer a piece of history (think, House of Leaves).

The author has a very humorous way of explaining the subject matter which really works. Thumper talks about Ethics and ethical decision making for the chaos witch. Quoting, “Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should”(not his words).

Thumper talks about the Jungian concept of the Id in
performing ‘shadow work’ and says how as humans we
tend to ignore or reject parts of ourselves that we don’t
like.

I was given this book by a dear friend and I didn’t
know what to expect. I learned a lot and really enjoyed it.

My only disappointment in this book is that it didn't come out sooner! In 2021/2022 I was itching for some good witchcraft/pagan books on Eris, goddess of strife, and Discordianism in witchcraft but it really felt like slim pickens. I love the focus on chaos, chaos magick, and doing what feels right.
I also like the reiteration that chaos magick does not have a set sense of morality and principles. They are more adaptable to the beliefs needed. Such as converting religions for certain spellwork or learning and converting to something else once the experience has served you.
I really loved this book and felt it had a lot of good learning opportunities towards chaos magick that I may not have come to easily on my own. I also like how un-concrete all of the advice is. It is all really if it works, do it, if it doesn't, do something else. Try and see. I love that.

I only read half of this book....that is about 125 pages. I didn't enjoy the book obviously but it is all me. The book told the information that the author wanted to share but I was lookiing for a story about Chaos magic with a story about things that she might of accomplished with use of that field of magic.

Instead it was a look at the philosophy behind chaios magic and how to implement..the attitude if you will

i have to applaud Thumper for writing the first witchcraft related book that i've actually enjoyed during my recent venture into occult literature. hoping there will be more like this that have the same effect on me. completely held my attention, fabulously written, very interesting and genuinely helpful. sucked this one up in 24 hours which is unheard of when i'm attempting to read anything that isn't fiction lol

Mid at best. I could give five reasons why but that would be too aneristic. I don't know whether I don't vibe with discordianism or whether Forge's tiktok wit just does not translate to the page. The best part of the book is the section on lithomancy, and I guess the general chaos confidence he tries to bestow upon the reader to just fafo.

One of the most in-depth meditations on "Discordianism and what it means" that I've read in a while, especially since I kinda collect these books now. Beautifully printed as well
