Running into my childhood crush after thirteen years and accidentally hitting on him isn't my finest moment. But Hayden isn’t how I remember him. Now he's Haze, the resident playboy of the Serpents of Chaos MC. And the worst part? I'm stuck with him protecting me. I should distance myself before I get in too deep. Before I get hurt. Hayden already broke my heart once, but Haze? He just might ruin me.

❤ Forced Proximity ❤ Small town romance ❤ OW Drama ❤ Found family ❤ Spice ❤ HEA ❤ Biker romance ❤ Possessive OTT hero ❤ Childhood crush/ Boy next door ❤ Musician hero/ baker heroine ❤ Second chance romance
Haze is book two in a sexy new biker romance series by New York Times Bestselling author Chantal Fernando. It can be read as a standalone. Intended for 18+ audiences only.
I became interested in the characters through the first book in the series and I was hooked. I've been having problems with giving up in the last few readings and this story held my attention until the end and reminded me of the author's first books.
Darn. This book was completely ruined with the FMC panting over every dick she came across. She get's kidnapped and for some reason the author thought it important for the FMC to mention how handsome her kidnapper was. This author definitely has better MC series than this. The FMC was basically a copy of the previous FMC from the first book. They're horny and promiscuous. Always commenting how hot everyone is. How am I supposed to take the MMCs relationship serious when that's what I'm reading. It's completely shallow and surface level, and feels like the FMCs can walk away anytime because they're into every male they come across. I honestly don't understand it. 🤷 Anyways, a bit disappointing as every character is a carbon copy of each other. This couples HEA just wasn't satisfying. I felt zero connection. Too bad.
Wow!! Just…Wow!! Talk about a childhood friends, to enemies, to lovers this book gave it all to me with plenty of steam. Haze and Luela had know each other since they were younger with Haze always being there for Luela. Then one day he is gone, never to be heard from.
Now years later they meet again but this time things are much different when Haze knows who she is but Lu isn’t certain that he is the same boy she had loved for years. Everything is so different now with Haze being a member of the Serpents of Chaos MC and going through so many women he can’t even count them.
Lu runs a bakery that just burned down so she is at the clubhouse with her best friend Ora who happens to be the pregnant Old Lady of the Prez. When Haze leaves her behind with two women you would think it would be over before it began again.
This was a book that I couldn’t put down because the storyline was amazing and the steam was out of this world. As for the rest of the brothers in the MC there were times when I couldn't keep from laughing at all of their antics. This book had it all. I can’t stress highly enough that I recommend this book for all MC lovers.
Haze is the next book in the Serpents of Chaos MC and focuses on our resident bad boy, Haze and our sweet baker, Lu☺️
Lu knew Haze when they were teenagers and he was her best friend and crush. He leaves town suddenly with his family and now, years later they reconnect in the most unlikely of places.
I loved Lu and her feisty nature but also all the bikers who behave more like naughty toddlers in their mischievous antics but definitely less PG🤣 I loved the banter and the story and how it all unfolds. A few surprises which has me eagerly awaiting Lore next.
I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️🩹
Absolutely loved Haze and Lu's story! The tension, the passion, the hot bikers.....just perfect. I binged this, kept me hooked and I didn't want to put it down.
Her MC stories are not super dark or old school, meaning that whilst some rules definitely still apply, women are not quite the second class citizen they used to be. I appreciate that. Nothing rages me more than a man who treats his woman like shit.. gives a sad effort of an apology wrapped up in his me man its the way it is bullshit and they live happily ever after. Thankfully, this is not the case, but for those wanting that raw gritty old school, I feel... maybe this isn't for you.
Luella grew up knowing that Haze would be hers one day. Her best friends brother but also her friend, her protector and her solace. Until one day, he just disappeared from her life. fast forward some major live events and trauma, and my girl is getting back on her feet and wanting a night on her back for fun. Of course, the man she drools over happens to be Haze unexpectedly. I really enjoyed Luella. I found her to be very likeable with a good balance of fiesty and reasonable. she was hurt but nit stupid and she didn't take shit from Haze or any of the men despite being a sweet treat queen.
Haze my guy... he had some trauma. This man and his saviour complex was something else but I was here for it. He was intentional with what he said and honest regardless of it hurting. He loved Lu for forever but didn't think he was good enough. sighs... he was more than enough let me tell you. Haze and his possessiveness.. man, my guy was on fire, and I was swooning my heart away.
These two had a river under the bridge but also very relevant drama in real time to navigate through. It wasn't easy, it never is, especially when the history is so vast and the emotion so big. They bickered and clashed until the clashed and crashed and then by that point tensions where a swinging and the undeniable could not be avoided. the chemistry was INTENSE. I was here for it. But that connection they had was so sweet. the fact she knew him well enough to know his struggles and the work he put in to get to where he is. The fact that man bought a whole damn building for her dream!!!!. I cannot.
The side characters are 10/10. I need Lore now but also.. the twins. Blade... there are so many. I really did love the dynamics they brought with their larger than life personalities and big hearts despite the hard exterior.
I love this one... my only complaint is the end was a little abrupt, and whilst there was an explanation, my brain needs more fleshing out personally.
Haze is one of those stories that is so filled with heat, passion, chemistry and sensuality that you might be tempted to skip past the heart, emotion and love that develops between these two but if you look past the eroticism of their physical reconnection you will understand just why these two were destined. Luella has had a lot of let-downs in her life, from crappy parents, to losing those she loved and being abandoned by friends and lovers, but she has finally found her place in life with her girl-squad and the MC that has taken her in. Now she just needs to accept that the man she never forgot is back in her life and determined to claim her, no matter what he has to do to earn her forgiveness and what hurdle she makes him jump to reach her heart again. Haze never forgot the girl that captured his heart at sixteen, but when she roars back into his life, he has to work to prove to her that nothing and no one will ever be more important than her in his life. With forces around them trying to keep them apart, mistakes and misunderstandings leading to fights, and passionate drama leading to explosive encounters, neither Luella nor Haze are truly prepared for the changes coming to their lives. The fire and chemistry between them are undeniable and despite the fighting (or maybe because of it) their sensuality is at peak almost every moment they are together. I loved their story, even the sad moments because i was positive they would find their way into an HEA and a future filled with love and laughter. I cannot wait for Lore’s story because the little glimpse we got tells me that it's going to be just as crazy explosive and filled with mystery as Haze’s was, and i can only hope Chantal gets it too us quickly.
Attention, lovers of hot motorcycle romances! If you're looking for a story full of passion, drama and second chances, then "Haze" is an item that is sure to draw you in. New York Times bestselling author Chantal Fernando is back with the second installment of her Serpents of Chaos MC series, but don't worry - this story can be read without knowledge of the previous one. The main character meets her first childhood love after thirteen years. The problem is that Hayden, the boy next door whom she remembers, is a thing of the past. Now she faces Haze, a fearless and possessive playboy from a motorcycle club. As if that weren't enough, a confluence of events forces them into a forced intimacy. He must provide her with protection. What particularly attracts in this book is the dynamic relationship between the characters. We watch as old feelings collide with a new and dangerous reality. Hayden has already broken her heart once, but Haze, with his reputation and dark aura, might just ruin it. You can feel that the stakes are high, and the heroine must decide whether to give in to the chemistry that sparks between them, or escape before it's too late. If you like themes like second chances and possessive protagonists, then “Haze” is a hit. In addition, the romance in a small town and the atmosphere of a motorcycle club give the story a unique charm. This is a spicy book intended for an adult audience, so be prepared for hot scenes that will heat up the atmosphere.
I had the absolute privilege of beta reading Haze and diving straight back into the Serpents of Chaos world—it honestly felt like coming home to a group of chaotic, slightly unhinged, but fiercely lovable friends.
The story picks up right where we left off, with Ora and Lu now living in the clubhouse—and Lu suddenly face-to-face with her childhood love. Then there’s Daisy, who crashes into the middle of Lu and Haze’s already complicated dynamic, adding chaos and turmoil in the most hilarious way. He’s the club bicycle (yes, he’s been with everyone), and she’s the sweet, sassy baker with a fiery side. Their banter and tension are pure gold.
I really loved Lu and Ora’s friendship in book one, but Ora truly shines in this installment. She’s fiery as hell and more protective than ever, dishing out savage, laugh-out-loud one-liners that had me cackling. Watching her come into her own was one of my favorite parts of the story.
Chantal Fernando delivers once again with the perfect blend of heart, heat, and humor. Haze is the ultimate bad-boy cinnamon roll, and the emotional, messy build-up between him and Lu made their happily ever after all the more satisfying.
The Serpents of Chaos series continues to pull you in, wrap you in leather and attitude, and make you feel right at home in the most unexpected of places.
I am a fan of this author since the beginning. And I am glad that we are getting new MC stories. Haze was another story added to my favorites.
Luella (Lu) has her own baker, but because of some problems with a friend of hers, who is connected to the Serpents of Chaos MC, her baker burned down, and she is now under the protection of the club and living at the clubhouse. Which is where she runs into the boy from her childhood. The only guy who was there for her through her teenage years, but who also left her behind when his sister needed him the most.
Hayden (Haze) was in love with Luella since they were teens, but his sister went down a dark road and he needed to be there for his family, so he left her and his heart behind. Now that she has come back into his life, he will do whatever it takes to keep her by his side.
But unfortunately, it seems like his sister isn’t done with interfering in his life…
Story was awesome. Both Lu and Haze were totally made for each other, but they also had a lot of past hurts and drama to first get through before they could find their happily ever after.
I absolutely love every one of these characters in this story. I think that the twins and Lore are my favorite. But Ghost totally intrigues me and I am dying for his story 😊
Eat your heart out former best friends, next door neighbors, the one that got away. They are clearly soul mates who couldn’t get it right when they were younger, now they have a second chance to get it right or throw it all away -again. Hayden aka Haze. Luella aka Lu aka Cupcake. Haze is a member of the MC and a well liked brother, Lu is the owner of a bakery and Ora’s best friend(we met her in WAR.) Haze can be read as a stand alone, however, you deserve to read the whole series and it’s worth it. Stellar Series. Haze and Lu have a lot of chemistry but it’s a slow burn to their eventual coming together. Haze felt the need to prove himself, and quite frankly he needed to. Haze is good at screwing things up when it comes to Lu. The tone to this MC is very friendly. They like each other, there is a mutual respect. This respect extends to the brother’s women - their old ladies. Great friendships within this group. I enjoyed the banter. It wasn’t corny. Book 1 holds a special place for me and it’s also super hot. Really enjoyed this book and am desperately awaiting Lore’s book and each and every brother i have read about so far. Skull, Bones, Suit, Ghost(oh my), Pres, Romeo, Blade, and the two brothers that just joined the chapter…
Haze... Book 2 in the Serpents of Chaos MC Series!
Haze is up! Our resident bad boy, playboy and musician gets his second chance at love. With who you ask? Well... Our sweet baker Lu of course. According to Haze.... "You're my one who got away. No one has compared to you, Luella, and they never will."
Swoon... The way this man wholeheartedly loved her.
Lu never forgot about the boy who broke her heart when they were teenagers. Hayden (aka Haze) was her best friend / secret crush until one day he and his family simply left town without a word. Now, 13 years laters the last place they both expect to run in to each other is at an MC clubhouse. But here we are! I loved the reconnection between these two even when Lu tried not to make it easy for him. I can't blame her feisty sass at times.. but girl.. we knew you didn't stand a chance. Their second chance journey had drama, angst, found family, spice, friendships, love and of course a little suspense and action. The banter... OMG these men have me literally laughing out loud at times. Their antics, ribbing and stirring of the pot banter is always top tier.
Why are the main characters acting like 15 year-olds?
The chapters are so repetitive in dialogue. Thankfully this was less than 200 pages because anymore of Luella’s “I hate him, but notice me” and Haze’s “i love seggs with other women, but Luella’s mine” schtick and I would have been bald from pulling my hair out of frustration. The amount of times Luella was “shocked” at Haze’s claims that she’s his is actually absurd considering he and every MC member says it every time she’s around. This girl is suppose to be a smart entrepreneur but apparently 2+2 is too hard.
Also I will never get the story logic of keeping a character like Daisy who’s has had a history of being problematic around the club to cause more problems. It’s pretty insulting to the reader’s intelligence to add conflict to a story in such an obvious and unsophisticated way. And then to have the main characters be shocked later on that she did something bad to them? Why turn your own characters into dummies who can’t even see through an obviously bad person? What’s the point of that
Book 2 in the Serpents of Chaos MC series and we have Ora’s best friend Lu taking centre stage with non other than playboy of the year Haze, and I loved every minute of it. Lots of drama in the clubhouse when Lu moves in for her own protection (and for Haze’s sanity). They’ve known each other for years, but lost touch, both still carrying a torch for one another. Is there a possibility of them starting something up together? Maybe, but there are so many stumbling blocks in their way, drugged up sisters, pregnant flings, as well as the ongoing drama with a rival club. Their challenges just might make them stronger. I loved Lu, she was a strong character who was very much in touch with her feelings, she also spoke her mind, a lot. No messing with her, she knows what she wants, and she gets what she wants. I’m loving these sexy bikers, they’re a fun bunch. Great characters throughout. Be warned, lots of sexy time in and amongst - nothing is taboo in the club house. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
This will be a short review because this was a short book for me before I start.
Hayden was one of the best characters I read about which made me relate to him because of the way I want to be treated his protectiveness of Lu which I liked a lot because a man who knows how to treat a woman right is the right person for them.
I read the 1st book and this was better because I liked the past between those two because it made sense how they belong together and Hayden was not giving up on them which made me happy because some men don’t know how to treat a woman right.
Lu was the best fmc because Chantal’s writes a perfect fmc with a backbone which I really liked and to know when to put the other woman in her place I’m not giving spoilers for what happens and what I can say is I really liked her character because she goes after what she wants with no regrets.
This relationship between the couple was perfect and I could not ask for something to be written any better I liked everything with the chemistry streaming between the couple which was really hot.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...
I really enjoyed this book, but do love a second chance romance as well as childhood friends to enemies to lovers slow burn romance.
Hayden, aka Haze, and Luela have known each other since they wee kids and Luela had deeper feelings for Haze then one day he disappeared from her life. Fast forward to now, Haze is the playboy of the Seprents of Chaos MC and Luela isn’t sure he’s the same boy she remembers, but her bakery has burned down and she needs some help. It turns out her bestie Ora, is the Prez’s Old Lady and now she is back in Haze’s orbit and things take an interesting turn for these two.
I like Haze and Luela together, their bond was deep and you could tell connection was never broken. However, Haze didn’t make it an easier transition, he is a major playboy of the MC and he made some questionable moves around Luela, but I’m glad she didn’t let it slide.
I loved the camaraderie of the MC, I laughed a lot with these guys.
I Was Hooked From The Very First Page! Haze is so Intense and Exciting! This Story is so Good!!! I love stories of childhood friends who secretly loved each other, and this story is that and so much more!
Haze (Hayden) and Lu (Luella) had a difficult childhood. Haze was always there to help Lu until life eventually got in their way. Now it's years later and the feelings for each other are still so strong despite the betrayal they both feel.
I love that most of the addictive drama revolves around Haze and Lu rather than the Motorcycle Club. Don't get me wrong, some intriguing things are happening within the MC, but I love that the story was more about the couple. I couldn't get enough of them.
Haze and Lu share an undeniable passion that heats the pages, but Holy Moly, the MC Members also have lots of SPICY 🔥 moments, plus they have things happening that make me want the next book now. I love it... Bring on Lore's book!!!
Childhood friends to almost lovers. He moves away, ghosts the h. H proceeds to be a biker/rock-star/man-whore, who needs to sleep with multiple women each night because he needs to “chase away the demons”. But…he’s supposedly hung up on h, writing an entire album of songs about her yet never reaching out to find her/apologize. So when h sees him performing years later and makes a pass at him he walks off with two club whores, making out with them. Why? Because he thinks the h doesn’t recognize him. Makes sense, right?
Add in one of the club whores is pregnant and claims it’s his child. No one really knows though because she sleeps with all of them!!!
Books like this are depressing because we know the h will end up with this gross guy and be forever reminded of his past. Such as this scene wherein the pregnant club whore says “He likes to have one woman ride his dick and another on his face. I’ve seen him with one riding each of his hands, too—”.
DNF after that.

These Serpants Of Chaos Bikers are all kinds of delicious, dangerous, dirty and addictive. I can't get enough of this exciting new series.
Haze and Lu have history they're childhood friends who reconnect and DAMN!! do they have undeniable chemistry. I loved their connection it was intense, smoking hottt but sweet and romantic too.
Haze is all kinds of yummy, musician, song writer and dirty talking Biker. He has a caring nature too, he's loyal and a protector. Lu is a great girl, sassy and strong and I love the nickname the Brothers chose for her. They are perfect together.
There are so many of the Brothers I'm excited to know more about, especially Ghost and Angel. I find these two the most intriguing but I love Lore, he's hilarious. I can't wait for the twins and blade also, infact who am i kidding, I love them all. 😂
I have loved Chantel and her words since FOREVER...
I have been not so patiently waiting for Haze when we learned read about him in book 1. I just loved his and Lu (Luella)'s story. Childhood friends turned Lovers --- what's not to love.?
Lu was best Friends with Aspen.. who just so happens to be Hayden (Haze's) sister.. but when Aspen gets herself into some serious trouble, Hayden has no other option but to help pick up his family and leave.. and in leaving, it breaks the heart of Lu. Both Lu and Hayden have been in love with each other but neither says anything..
FF to present day.. Lu has a bakery ( and as we know if burned down in book 1) She is under the protection of the Serpents of Chaos.. as her new bestie Ora is with the Serpents VP War.
I loved everything about this book.. and I CAN NOT WAIT for Lore.. but what I Really want is GHOST!
This book. Ok seriously THIS BOOK. 😍🥳 I had to be like “calm down girl, stop reading so fast” when I started to rush through the book because I really wanted to know what was going on and how the book was going to end. It had me hooked from page one.
I loved their love story. I’m a sucker for second chance love stories with a dash of OWD. This book had spice, drama, chemistry and the main characters actually tried to be mature even though they had struggles and history that made it difficult - refreshing that they actually stod their grown and that the FMc had a backbone and no doormat. 😚
I truly enjoyed this book and I’m exited for the next one in this series. So far I think Haze is my favorite. 🫦🤩
I received a copy of this book (ARC) by the author but the opinion is my own.
Thank you for the arc Chantal Fernando! This is my unbiased review!!
I am always here for best friends protective older brother and Chantal delivered. I loved WAR, but this book was even better in my opinion!
Haze and Lu had amazing chemistry and you could feel the longing they had for each other through the whole book. I love how Haze basically will not let them not work. Even with hurdles to overcome (Thanks Daisy 🙄). Got to love a mature MMC who wants to work through problems 🩷.
This book was an amazing follow to WAR, and has all the best tropes:
•found family •best friend’s brother •age gap •touch her and d!e
I just finished reading Haze and I was glued to the book instantly. Which isn’t hard, I love Chantal Fernando books. I don’t even know where to start. There is active addiction, sister. We have baby mama drama, voyeurism, alpha men who will protect the ladies of the club at all cost. And a lot of smex. Chantal was able to bring a lot of characters together, but still be able to keep Haze and Lu the center of the storyline. Like with War, we get to meet the club brothers and their proclivities. All in all, you will be pulled in and invested in The Serpent MC and cheering everyone on to have their HEA ending.
Haze pulled me into to the story from the start. This book steamed up my kindle, made me laugh, blush in embarrassment, and kept me turning the pages. I could not put Haze down. I read this book front to back in one sitting. Lu is a strong, independent, capable woman. Haze is a strong alpha male. Together these two have a past, feelings, and serious chemistry together. They are cute together. I enjoyed watching these two find their way to each other and their happily ever after. Haze was a good read. I cannot wait to see other characters find their happy ending as well. Advanced reader review
Loved the 2nd book in the series with Haze and Lu. Lu is a strong FMC throughout the story. Owning her own bakery she’s forced to come back into Hazes’ life after many years of being apart. They were childhood friends that were forced to be apart. Haze is a bit is a wild man in the MC and lives up to his reputation in the club. He’s never forgotten Lu though and it will take him changing his ways to make her believe he’s different. This was an excellent match from the beginning.
.age gap •best friend’s brother •found family
I received this ARC through the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing this book, opinions are my own.
Bikers and drama—two things that never end. Haze and Lu bring snark, banter, mischief, laughter, steamy moments, and plenty of drama as their love story unfolds. Lu is the kind of woman you want to wrap in a hug and cheer on for her strength. And while it was a relief when Haze finally wised up, there were definitely moments you wanted to smack him. The witty banter will have you laughing out loud, and the bond between the men is truly admirable. And let’s not forget the female friendships—strong, supportive, heartwarming!
Just got to finish this book and i must say Chantal’s books get better and better!Haze, a troubled child with the world in his shoulders and a hero complex tries to punish himself for the cards he was dealt with! But as soon as he realizes God owed him two he stops punishing himself and makes everything possible to get his happy ending! I love these men in the new series! Alphas that try and make the distance! Hase gets everything he deserves and lets noone get in between! The story keeps you locked wanting for more! Well done Chantal, well done once again!
