I knew I wanted her since the first time I saw her at that kitchen counter sobbing. I could see the pain in her eyes, and I knew she had never been loved right. She probably never had someone console or love her the way that I knew that I would. I couldn’t love her then. My heart wouldn’t allow me to, knowing that everything or everyone that loves me ends up leaving this earth.
I love Quasim Inferno. I want to love him, heal him, and be everything he never knew he needed. I’ve never been afraid of going after what I want – including the things that were bad for me. With Quasim Inferno, I could see my entire future in his eyes, and it excited me. A man as strong and hard as him, he needed the soft and gentle… and crazy. I wanted to be that for him.
I’m just going to have to wait until this series is finished, like I did with Capri, because I don’t care for all cliffhangers. While I understand they both had baggage, I feel like them finally getting together took too long and ended up feeling anticlimactic. I was hoping everything would be wrapped up by the end, with just a few teasers of drama for the next story. Instead, it feels like this author drags the story out by sparingly revealing minor details to build suspense and anticipation. If the story is written well enough, that suspense should come naturally it doesn’t need to be forced.
Also, I didn’t care for the playlist instructions. Honestly, just put the songs in order of appearance instead of giving us vague instructions to start certain tracks at specific moments. I’m a digital reader, so now I have to leave the Kindle app, open my music platform, search for the song, start it, and then go back to reading. That’s a hassle sorry, but it’s wack!
The back-and-forth between him and Blair left me wanting more. Given their ages, their trauma, and everything else they’ve been through, I expected them to show a little more sense. I didn’t need them to be together by chapter two, but why drag other people into their mess knowing what they know? Both of them are bringing baggage, suitcases, moving vans full of issues and yet they thought it was a good idea to add another uninvolved party to the chaos just because they weren’t getting the attention they wanted? Blair really could’ve used some time off from the dating scene to focus on herself. She talked a big game, but much like Capri, she folded like a futon.
I also wasn’t a fan of the way sex was used to avoid their problems. Sim, I know your fingers are cramping up from all that “Blair splash pad” activity, but TALK TO HER ALREADY. Stop the nonsense!
Overall, I think this author is incredibly talented and creates some really entertaining, interesting characters. But I feel like she focuses too much on “world-building” instead of just telling the story. When you have strong characters, a solid plot, and minimal grammatical errors, the world will build itself. As readers, we don’t need an introduction or caveat before the story starts—we know what to expect when we’re diving in. But by the end, I’m just left feeling unsatisfied.
I might need to take a break before reading this. My goodness.
Pre-read:
OKAY. I didn't know that this is connected to the Delgato world, but best believe I WILL be reading this after or before Capri. If not at the same time. Idk what to do but it will get read.
First of all, I love Blair!! She stood on business until Quasim was ready to be fully in with her. No matter the outside voices Quasim and Blair knew it was always going to be them. Elijah being a part of there was the cherry on top. All the beautiful, heartbreaking flashbacks show their journeys and why they need each other so badly! I can't believe this ended the way it did, and I have an idea of who the insane person was that did this, but omg, I hope everyone is safe! Quasim is about to go nuclear!
You know I’m locked in with these people and I couldn’t put this one down. So glad we’re getting to know Sim and Blair. I’m not gonna hold you Sim was one my nerves and I get he’s working through things but he was denying himself and my girl the happiness they both deserved. I’m so happy to get to know Blair and she’s a bit stronger than I thought she’d be. She made her stance very clear but we all knew she couldn’t deny Simmy. I adore the relationship between Sim and Eli and I hope his raggedy mama gets what’s coming for her. Glad to see Capella and Aimee in a better place, so happy about M_ _ _ too. Looking forward to the next part. Hopefully we get that tomorrow!
Jahquel’s writing is questionable. She makes women look weak. Blair spent 68% of this book chasing a man who was emotionally unavailable because he had yet to find healing from the loss of his girlfriend. Blair was dating - DATING- a rapper who was willing to wait for her. But she chose to chase and BEG Simmy for love to only end up settling for sex? This is the same storyline each and every damn time.
First things first I’ll never look at a sprinter the same again. Second I’m ready to book a flight to Bali. King Infernooooo! Jahquel this man is PRESSURE. I loved the way this story unfolded & the groundwork that was laid before we got what we all wanted, which was Blair & Sim being officially together. The intensity behind their love is incredible. This cliffhanger is too much cause I know Blair better be ok. I’m so locked in!
This was one of my most anticipated books of the year, and I found this book disappointed me a bit, and it may be because of all the anticipation I built up for it. Quasim's relationship with Elijah was the highlight of the book for me. I did love the look into Sim's backstory and the emotional moments we got to see between him and Blaze, but I was severely disappointed in Blair's portrayal. We were led to believe that she was going to be strong and try to move on with her life because of Sim's indecisiveness, but baby girl was thirstier than a dog on a hot summer day. She repeatedly said that she wasn't going to keep begging him to be with her, and literally all she did was beg. I was like, "Girl, STAND UP!" And I honestly grew tired of it, not to mention her leading Zay on. I'm going to read the next book because I am still interested, and I want to know how that mystery at the end ties up.
Mannnnnnn JAH let go of my damn edgessss! My emotions were all over the place. I have never cried so much with a book😩😩😩 Quasim, Quasimmy, Simmy Jimmy lorddd bless his heart he has been through so damn much. His book touched me so much and I just know it’s going to get even worse before it gets better.
And Ms. Blair omgggg Anjooooooo 🥹🥹 I’m so happy for my girl. BECAUSE STAND ON YOUR SHIT MS MAAMMMM. She deserves nothing less than what she’s receiving. As always let me stop my review here before I right another book about a book🤣
MRS. JAHQUEL I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NEOWWWWW. That cliffhanger got me scratching like Elijah mommmaaaaaaa!
WHEW—this was a slow burn, baby! We’ve been waiting for Quasim to get out of his own way and love Blair the way she deserves to be loved since Cappadonna (Book 1)—and FINALLY, we got it! Quasimmy had us suffering with blue balls for a minute, but when he finally put it on my good sis Blair? Whew, he rocked her world!
But in all seriousness, this book took us on an emotional ride. Learning about Quasim’s past added so much depth to his character. We knew his late fiancée had been hurt and murdered, but getting the full story through flashbacks was gut-wrenching. Being in his mind during his darkest hours—losing the love of his life and his daughter—made me love and root for him even more. Seeing his growth was everything.
The storyline of Quasim caring for his neighbor’s child was such a refreshing touch. It felt like he was getting a second chance at fatherhood, and I’m such a sucker for found family. That aspect of the book was beautifully done. Blair’s journey was just as powerful—discovering the truth about the past with Tookie brought out so many emotional moments.
Now, I’ll admit it—there were times I was rooting for Blair to move on with Zay because Quasim was dragging his feet! But ultimately, I loved watching her step into her power. She went from the quiet girl in the background to one of the strongest women in the circle alongside Capri, Aimee, Zoya, Joy, and Erin. Her growth was amazing to witness.
Overall, Quasim delivered everything I wanted—emotional depth, found family, second chances, and finally the love story we’ve been waiting for. Jahquel J. did her thing with this one! 💕
4.5/5 ⭐️ — I’m happy to be immersed into the world of Quasim & Blair, finally. I loved the way the story was laid to build our anticipation for the inevitable, Angel and Sim becoming one. — I loved how Sim was coming behind Eli, he needed him so bad. — It was great to see Capella and Aimee is a better situation.
Babyyy Quasim & Blair stressed me the hell outttt 😅 Blair didn’t stand on no type of business when it came to Sim, she folded every single time 🤣 I completely understood both perspectives of it, but I’m glad they were able to work things out
Sim’s story had be crying so bad 😭 the flashbacks, the scene with Meer in the bathroom 😭 ohhh my heart couldn’t take it! We have seen glimpses of his story in the previous books, but we really dive into it in this book & it was very emotional. Quasim has had some terrible experiences & been through some of the most painful things. My heart truly did hurt for him & the grief he is still enduring. The pain truly never goes away & he is slowly but surely learning how to navigate emotions & feelings he swore off for so long. Quasim gets all my grace. He really is an amazing man. Like the way he takes care of Elijah, my goodness 🥺
Blair also dealt with some traumatic experiences. Tookie gotta get his for all the trauma & pain he inflicted on Blair! Blair has known for so long that she wanted Sim but she could not make the same mistakes as before. She could not wait on him forever. I understood why she had a hard time waiting for him. She could not chase another man & she deserved to be loved wholeheartedly. I never doubted that Sim loved her, he just could not express it verbally. He definitely showed her through some of his actions that he cared for her on a deeper level than just friends.
Blair definitely wasted Zay’s time 🫢 she knew that she didn’t want him on that level. I think she felt like she needed to prove to Quasim that she could date someone who wasn’t him but we see how that worked out 🤣 Sis did come off a little hypocritical when she felt some type of way about Zay being pictured with Grace as if she wasn’t giving Quasim the goods 😅 and had been ducking Zay after they returned from Bali.
Although this was definitely more emotional than the previous seasons, Jahquel J still brought the humor that the Delgato/Inferno crew is known for. One thing about it, Capp goin have a new job title, Meer goin still be pissy, & Erin not messing with no dolphins 🤣 I love the way that she introduces characters and their potential storylines for their own books. This entire universe that she is building is truly unmatched.
To understand Quasim’s story and Blair’s is actually heartbreaking. I truly think Jahquel J has mastered every type of emotion through out all of her books on the Delgato and Infernos.
This really set the tone for what the next two books are going to be like 😩 I don’t want to speak too soon but I think Quasim might be my fav out of the Inferno brothers - he has soo many layers to him and what we thought he was doing in house. You really get a sense of the calmness before the crazy. Him and Blair really are a perfect match. Also Jim taking Eli 😭 I just think is too cute 🥰
The ending though 👀 we love a cliff hanger but please I don’t know whether I should cry or be extremely pissed at who is responsible ☝🏾 All I know is they are gonna 💀
QUASIM. QUASIM. QUASIM. Yeah, I’m yelling, ‘cause that man ain’t come to play—he came to snatch souls and let it be known who’s really running things. This season started off with a bang, and baby, I was locked in from jump.
Quasim is that man, PERIOD. Big energy, big pressure, and not one second of hesitation when it comes to Blair. And Blair? That’s my sis. She the one. But babyyyy, the way she had me hollering “STAND UP!” every time she got soft after hyping up rapper dude? Girl, be serious! You sitting on platinum and worried ‘bout fool’s gold. Don’t play in Quasim’s face like that!
And Simmy? Sir. If you don’t get it together—he had me ready to run up. But shout out to Blair for keeping it pushin’. Sis ain’t stay stuck. She moved with grace, even when her heart was on tilt.
Now let’s talk about lil Elijah. My heart was torn up. That baby been through too much, and the way his mama moved? Nawl. I was ready to slide on her. Fast.
And Mina with Papa Inferno? Oh, that was no accident. That was fate, dipped in drama and sprinkled with spice. But I ain't even finna spoil that—you gotta read to feel it.
This the type of story that makes you feel—for real. It's not just a plot, it’s an experience. The characters got layers, the love is grown and gritty, and the culture? It’s in every damn line.
And them chapter song drops? Jahquel was playing with our emotions. Like, why would you do that? Now I’m crying over pages and having flashbacks I didn’t sign up for.
Five stars. Heavy on the five. This one was spicy, soulful, and straight from the block to the heart. Read it. You won’t regret it.
The first read was so emotional that I had to spin the block to see if I missed crucial details. One thing this reread solidified is that I adore the Inferno men! 2/23/25 I loved Sim before I started his book. I found his and Blair’s situation frustrating but how can you be mad at a man that’s been through everything he’s been through? I love how Quasimmy eventually allowed himself to be with Blair. I do need Blair to really step into her Bad bitch era so she can represent like Queen Inferno needs to. I loved how Quasim interacted with Eli. Peach is the scene stealer of this series! I love that little girl so much. I was definitely in my feelings as we unpacked Sim’s trauma with him. The song notes at the beginning of certain chapters were amazing and absolutely intensified the emotions of the story. We saw a little bit of Sim’s crazy at the end of Capri but I was excited to meet the real crazy man all the IG’s talk about. He showed us some of his crazy in this book but I know we will see all gas no sense King Inferno style in the next book. Once again, Jah made me laugh, cry and smile all big like these are real life people that I know. Can’t wait for Quasim 2!
I love how they handle business and have fun. A drunk Quameer is even more hilarious than his usual self. Jahquel be killing me with these “to be continued”…
Noooooooooooo because let talk about it…….. First before we get into Ms. Jahquel J… YOUR PENNNNNNNNN: 👩🏾🍳💋 👩🏾🍳💋 👩🏾🍳💋 when I tell you I was giggling, blushing, and screaming 🤭🤭🤭. This book was 5 ⭐️🤏🏾🙂↕️ and you deserved every bit of that. Now on to this book
Quasim: sigh the man you are 😊….. but the rollercoaster you put us on 😐…. The push and pull you gave this whole book was soooooo unnecessary. Like if you couldn’t voice your feeling you should’ve wrote it down on paper and passed it like a note THEN to turn around and do just that…… I hate you kept pushing Blair on Zay then to keep telling Blair “I want you” 😐🙄. Now if she fell in love with Zay and moved on you would’ve been hurt and felt like you don’t deserve to be loved. Then telling Birkin bag (sorry sista I ride for Blair 😬) that you will keep in touch…. Yeah she going to be a problem that could’ve been nipped in the bud and if you use her to push Blair away we gone be tussling TUSSLINGGGGGGG And another thing I thought we learned our lesson in capri about tying up loose ends. Like whyyyy leave tookie butt alive.😐 He will be a problem and to me it will seem like another Cherie situation where something will happen and she will be caught up with him and cause problems Side notes loved that you took Eli in 🥰 but honestly you need to find a way to adopt him cause his mom going to be a problem and I don’t Ike that for Eli
Blair: For majority of the book sista I felt like we was here:🤞🏾🔒but at times we was ✌🏾🔓 Like for one I hate you kept leading Zay on like that. Like I know you want to find love and have a husband and kids but if you know Quasim was going to be in your head 24/7 say that, why start some with Zay. Then to get upset he was hanging around grace when you was with Quasim… why 🤨 And another thing STANDDDDD UPPPPPPP. Yes I know you love the man but you shouldn’t have to deal with that push and pull. Likeeeee seriously. The loving on you one second then not speaking for a while the next was exhausting. Then to keep saying you not going to beg a man to be with you then turn around and beg….. I didn’t like that for you sista 🫤 Quasim is a grown man that needs to voice his feelings. You shouldn’t have had to beg and plead the man to tell you he wants to be with you. Honestly you should’ve made the man grovel for you a little for the rollercoaster he put you on
To my side characters DONT PMO. Havoc and Yasin go get yall women. How you tough in the streets but when I comes to want the women y’all scared to say some like be soooooo for real 😐😐😐😐
Now im not going to lie you changed the pace with this book. There was a lot of emotion and not a lot of action like in season 1-3 …. That’s was different and I loved that 🤏🏾🙂↕️ 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
To end this review the cliffhanger: 😔🫤🙄🤨😬🫢(no words) Drop the next book NEOWWWWW sista. THANK YOU 😉
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Quasim was well worth the wait. I expected it to be emotional, but this was way more emotional than any of the other books. The flashbacks really helped understand these characters. There was so much pain and suffering between them, but they fought to keep going and found light in the darkness. Sim’s road took a little longer, but he got there. Elijah truly did help heal him and I loved their relationship.
Sim & Blair were stressing me out with the back & forth, but I can appreciate the character growth in the end and get why it happened. They’re definitely made for each other. The ending??????? Not sure why anyone wants to play with this man, but Diablo is about to crash out. Can’t wait to read the next one. Also, I am really thankful this was pretty much a dual pov book.
This book took me through it ! I felt every emotion known to man from sadness to love. I cried damn near the entire book lol but i laughed & swooned just as much. I’ve never wanted two people to win in life so bad & if you add Elijah that makes 3 . They all deserve peace & love. Jahquel did an absolute amazing job with placing Quasim & Blairs past within this beautiful and complex love story. It honestly made me root for them more and understand their trauma. Such an amazing story about two troubled souls who find the light within each other . Great job Jahquel!
Quasim wants Blair and Blair want Quasim but past trauma hold them at bay from pursuing the relationship. We knew that! Now Ms. Jahquel says she is going to provide their prospective and to let her cook. All I’m saying is we have had three seasons of action, and now the wrap up is moving slow. Reactions: I hate that they refer to children as seeds, is that supposed to be a hood thing or a New York thing? Not only was Tookie abusing her but he was a drug addict too…girl why did you marry him?? The things we do to feel needed SMH These outfits are crazy, white linen pants, gray t-shirt and Jordans, who is wearing linen pants and Jordans??? They could’ve at least been linen shorts wth the Jordans. Why is always the dark brooding asshole that piques the lady’s attention Blair got it bad for Sim…my girl having flashbacks when she is kissing the next dude…crazy! She got it Myrtle Urkel bad To be delusional and in love the Delgato wives are permanent residents of delulu So you burned down the Inferno God’s house??? Y’all about to die!! And Harpo, who this white woman??
Turns out I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was for this book… So much happened and my heart was in my ass for the majority of this book like I felt so many emotions most of them being sad and crying that I didn’t think I would be able to form a coherent thought after I read. And honestly, thank you because I needed that. I knew that quasim and Blair’s book was gonna take me through it. There’s so much pain and suffering that both of these characters had to work through to get to the point where they were and I enjoyed seeing the background of how we got to where they are. I also really liked that Elijah plays apart and kind of helping to heal Sim. There were so many sad moments but equally happy moments the jokes never stop and that’s what I enjoy about Jah’s books. The way she paints a picture with her stories and her characters really makes you feel like these characters are real and like they’ve been in your life for years because I don’t wanna get too much away. Y’all are gonna have to go read this book to just experience it for yourself because no amount of explaining I do will let you know how great this book was.
This was a great, much-anticipated opener to Season 4 of the Delgato (now trending into Delgato-Inferno) series. Half of this book focuses on the back and forth, will they-won’t they between Blair and Quasim which populated chunks of Capri’s season. The summary is that they eventually do and when they do, it’s a little anticlimactic given all the building across several books. Yet they’re a delightful couple together. Elijah is adorable and the twist with Mina Inferno (Quasim and Quameer’s mom) was a real delight.
I enjoyed the emotional content and flashbacks and I think the depth of Quasim’s grief was captured really well by the author. I wanted a bit more of Blair’s backstory and I also wanted a bit more of Quasim and Blair together building bonds beyond physical and kind of clicking in the way we got to see Capri and Quameer doing so. This felt like after their intimate hook up, a lot was taken for granted. This wasn’t as “clutching at pearls, gasping and falling out of your chair” as Capri’s season openers. This felt a lot more low-key even with the cliffhanger at the end. That said, I didn’t mind this at all though, and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
King Inferno!!! Quasim and Blair may just be my favorite couple in this series. Book one focus’s on their past and their beginnings of them finally coming together. This book is about how loss and trauma affects people in so many different ways . We see how loss and guilt keeps Quasim from accepting love from Blair. We see Blair coming from loss and trauma still holding space to love and be loved We see the beginning of 3 people building a family. I loved how Jahquel has so many layers to her storytelling. I cannot wait for book 2, because the storm is here.
i just knew. I KNEW that i needed to wait for all of the books to come out before starting this series because WHAT THE ACTUAL!?!
if there’s one thing jahquel j is gonna do, it’s serve us with a damn good cliffhanger. i’m jumping straight into the next book because i just NEED to know what happens next.
i can definitely say, i missed these characters badddd 🥹 seeing all the babies, and the whole found family AAAAHHH i love them all smmm <33
I loved every minute of reading about Quasim. The emotional rollercoaster that Jahquel took me on in this book was incredible. She perfectly portrayed the backstory and struggles that Quasim is facing. Blair was unapologetic in her love for Quasim and made her intentions clear. I enjoyed seeing updates on familiar characters as well as introductions to new ones. I highly recommend the Delagato and Inferno series.
Listennnnn I have been waiting since the day after Capri 3.5 dropped for this book. & baby this book did not disappoint! We have all wanted to know more about Sim we got that and some !! We also wanted him and Blair to take things further and we got that too !! Yes there were definitely tears but there were smiles as well .Jah my good sis you have done it again !!!
I thought that Blair and Quasim would never get it together, I felt they both knew what they wanted each other but had too much baggage. Quasim has been through a lot of heartbreak and is still dealing with the death of his wife & daughter.
