A curse. A college class. A paired-up assignment. And the one guy she swore she’d never fall for.
Clara Healy is convinced her family is cursed.
After witnessing the relationships of those closest to her fall apart, she’s determined to avoid being the curse’s next victim by staying away from the root cause: falling in love with a cliché love interest.
Leading up to college, Clara has managed to steer clear off of them—be it the bad boy, the academic rival, or her kryptonite, the star athlete.
But when she arrives late to the first day of American Sign Language class, and ends up sitting next to Colton Reed, the college star baseball player, her streak comes to an end. Things only get worse when they have to partner up for an assignment.
But Clara isn’t going to let the curse get to her. She could handle seeing Colton on a weekly basis, right?
As she ends up practising with him every Wednesday, with car rides home, and an unexpected night out together, Clara slowly starts to realize that escaping the curse was going to be a lot more difficult than she thought it would be.
A sweet and cozy debut that had me smiling way too much 🧋✨
Clichés and Curses is soft in all the best ways. Boba on Wednesdays, unexpected friendships, ASL (American Sign Language) lessons that quietly build intimacy and a romance that blooms in silence and small gestures.
Clara is determined to avoid cliché love interests, which makes it even more fun when she’s paired up with Colton, a literal star baseball player for her ASL class. Their routine meetups (with boba of course) are filled with adorable tension and awkward pauses.
That said, I kept waiting for that one moment. The scene where it’s crystal clear that Colton is falling hard for Clara. While he’s consistently sweet and thoughtful, I didn’t quite feel that emotional punch or shift that usually makes me go, “Yup, he’s gone for her.” Maybe it’s just me, but I would’ve loved one or two more intense beats from Colton’s side to really seal the romance.
Also, I personally prefer a bit more hesitancy or tension in the build up. I felt weird at the beginning on the physical touch given that they are just friends at the time.
Overall it was a cozy read for me. Congrats Deidre for the debut!
Clara, our protagonist, is doing her absolute best not to fall for a cliche love interest. She’s been burned before, watching her parents’ and sister’s relationships fall apart has made her wary. But fate's like, “Not today, Clara.” Enter Colton Reed, college baseball star, charming to a fault, and impossible to outrun.
What I really enjoyed about this book was how light and breezy it felt. There’s a solid dose of college life, the pacing is fast (you’ll fly through it), and the characters act their age, which is refreshing. Clara and Colton’s relationship kicks off when they’re paired for an ASL class project, and from there, it’s hangouts, easy banter, and all the soft glances you could ask for.
Sure, the plot felt a little thin in places, but the character dynamics more than made up for it. I especially loved how they brought out the best in each other, and how Clara eventually chose to take that leap of faith. That’s what this book leaves you with, really. A quiet nudge to take the leap, to trust the unknown. And if it doesn’t work out? You start over. But at least you tried.
I’d definitely recommend this one to anyone dipping their toes into the romance genre. It’s cute, it’s light, and it’ll leave you smiling.
When Clara begins to believe that her family is cursed with happily ever after, she begins to avoid every cliché romance trope. But on her first day of college, she’s paired in ASL class with Colton Reed, the charming baseball player she swore she’d never fall for. Between bubble tea study sessions and quiet car rides, Clara wonders if some curses are worth breaking.
First of all, congrats Deidre on your cutesy debut!!! The moment we all have been waiting for😛😛😛.
Okay now bubble tea, ASL, and a baseball greeting fate? Yes, please. Watching Clara run away and seeing her panicking while fleeing away from dreamy athletes and bad boys only to end up pairing with a baseball player makes me chuckle.
I couldn’t help but smile so much reading this. The banter with Colton? Warm, charming, fizzing with gentle tension. That slow build, those small moments made me think, maybe curses can be broken with kindness and slow-brewed feelings. But I totally get Clara’s fear. Watching relationships implode around her makes love feel like a trap. Sometimes I wish she’d let go faster but then she lets herself be open, even when it’s scary made the whole thing worth it.
The downside is that Clara’s inner monologue can get repetitive. Her fear of the “curse” and overthinking sometimes slows the pacing. The romance is a slow burn, which might feel too drawn out if you prefer faster development. Not just that, the stakes are fairly low, maybe some more drama or plot twists might be exciting.
Nevertheless, it is a cliche love story, much like the title itself. If you want to read a soft and fuzzy college romance, this is for you. Now where do I sign up for ASL and get boba with a baseball player?🤪
Thank you @penguinbookssea, @chai_n_books, and @bookstore.baby for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review.
It's a straightforward story without complicated drama. I love Colton and Clara, and all the side characters. The writing is good with minor typos, and the story flows smoothly without awkward scene jumps.
I enjoyed the story, probably because I'm in the mood for a good romance. It makes me smile silly and makes me feel happy and giggly.
AWW!! This is hands down the fluffiest rom-com I’ve read this year!!💕
The story follows Clara Healy, a college student who’s sworn off clichéd love interests, and Colton Reed, the charming star athlete at her college. While Clara believes she’s safe from falling into any “cliché romance” trap, fate clearly has other plans. She gets paired with Colton Reed for her ASL (American Sign Language) class, the walking, talking cliché she’s determined to avoid.🤭
From the very first page, I adored Clara. She’s such a relatable book girl who loves reading romance novels, sipping bubble tea, and cozy rainy days.🥰 Her easy, happy energy flows right through the story. After witnessing her parents’ and sister’s relationships fall apart in repetitive, cliché patterns, she starts to believe that such love interests are a curse on her family, and she’s determined not to tempt fate.
Colton Reed is an absolute green flag forest!!😍 Every gesture of his screams gentleman, opening car doors for her, buying her pink flowers every week just because she loves them, and turning bubble tea into “their thing.”The little details made their connection so endearing. The side characters, Nina and Miles, added the right amount of fun and sweetness too.😄
The plot is fast-paced and engaging. It starts with Clara waiting for her first ASL class when Colton takes the only empty seat beside her. They begin as friends, and their relationship slowly blossoms through their practice sessions, filled with adorable moments, lingering looks, and subtle tension that pulls them closer.😇
That said, I did feel that a few parts dragged a bit when not much was happening. I also wished for a defining moment from Colton’s side, that “Oh wow, I’m completely in love with her” realization scene that makes your heart flip. The transition of his feelings felt a little too smooth, without that one spark moment.🙂
Still, Clichés and Curses was a sweet, feel-good, and fluffy read. I loved how it ended on the note that it’s okay to take chances, to turn toward the unknown, even if you don’t know where it leads. Because not taking that chance often hurts more than trying and failing.💖
first of all, congratulations Deidre for your debut book <3333 SUPER proud of you!
it's like the author knows that tealive (a boba drink) has me on chokehold. this book will be the enabler to your boba addiction. the MCs get boba tea every wednesday when they're together!!!! to do what? TO PRACTISE ASL god deidre knows what gets me. i always have a soft spot for books with sign language, Deaf/deaf, Mute/mute themes so when i read that the class that clara (and colton ofc hehe) signed up for is ASL, i was soooo excited!!
my favourite scenes are definitely when clara and colton converse in ASL, ESPECIALLY when (might be a minor spoiler towards the end?) . GOD. it's giving but BETTER because the conversation is silent and PRIVATE only both of them knows it bcs they're signing!!!! i do wish there are more details on clara and colton's sign language lessons between them, but i do also understand that it may not be as much because none of the characters are actually Deaf/Mute.
OK NOW. YOU DESERVE EACH OTHER BY SARAH HOGLE MENTIONED. if it's not obvious enough, i LOVE You Deserve Each Other it has a SPECIAL shelf in my heart yall it's not even mentioned once, the plot points were referenced for A FEW TIMES (if you haven't read the book yet, what are you waiting for). AND WHEN COLTON MADE A *CASUAL* REFERENCE TO ONE OF THE SCENES WHEN TALKING TO CLARA OH GOD HELP I PHYSICALLY FANGIRLED. (ask Deidre for proof of me DM-ing her my reaction cus boyyyy that caught me off guard)
colton actually seems like a decent guy and a gentleman, so it's no wonder that clara found herself falling for the 'real' colton. on the other hand, apart from the casual hand-touching or holding hands, i can't clearly see how or when colton's feelings towards clara bloomed or became apparent. i'd love to read more indications of colton being overly awkward or nice to clara and only to clara, so that my heart gets the reassurance that colton likes me clara. however, the interaction between clara and colton became cuter towards the end and i found myself smiling alone in my room *cries in single*
i do NOT remember if i was just hallucinating but i'm pretty sure i saw that acts of service is the author's love language.. i can't be wrong because this book is definitely for the acts of service people!! the "i'll drive you home or i'll drive you home", getting boba tea and flowers, etc.
the romance as a whole however didn't really catch me because i'm someone who enjoys reading subtle physical touch rather than obvious ones. in this book, there are a lot of instances of clara and colton holding hands as 'friends' (before any confession or whatnot), which is not usually my cup of tea. i'd definitely enjoy it more if there's no physical touch between them, only subtle, awkward, do-i-touch-or-not ones. i feel it cuter that way, because the hesitation might've made it more apparent of their feelings towards one another. this is totally more of the romance preferences btw.
overall, a light and wholesome read—one that you can fly through. there's a lot of specific scenes/plot that i enjoy, though i think the romance as a whole could be developed further. you might enjoy this book better if your love language is physical touch or acts of service love language <3 some people ask me whether this book is 'clean', i'd say yes (holding hands and kissing—i mean, this isn't a spoiler right?)
thank you so much Deidre, Chai, Mishti, and Penguin Books SEA for sending this review copy to me, you have no idea how much i appreciate this <3!!!!!
After her parent's divorce and her sister’s failed engagement, Clara’s dream of a “happily ever after” kind of fell apart. She developed this fear of cliché love stories and started believing her family was cursed. Since then, she’s done everything she can to avoid falling for the typical rom-com love interest. But of course, fate had other plans—enter Colton, the college star athlete. Flowers, rides home, bubble tea every Wednesday, and a borderline obsession with ABBA? yes. The book was a lighthearted read at its best!
It’s so refreshing to read a romance where the main characters doesn’t act rude or arrogant every time they interact. Colton and Clara actually act their age with their cute banter, accidental flirting, soft glances and all of it made their connection feel so genuine. I loved how they brought out the best in each other. Colton isn’t just some star athlete—he has his own quiet charm, and seeing Clara slowly become braver and take a chance on their relationship was one of my favorite parts of the book. Like the book says, falling in love can be scary, but so is letting the right person go. The book also doesn't heavily focus on plot—it’s more about their journey, especially how their relationship grows when one of them is scared of love and heartbreak. Also, I absolutely loved the ASL aspect. Watching both of them learn and actually use sign language in their daily lives was so sweet especially that scene at the baseball game. It was such a cute moment.
That said, the one downside for me was how often Clara brought up her fear of cliché love interests and it started to feel a bit repetitive. I get that it’s a big deal for her, but every time she mentioned the curse in front of someone, I winced a little (but honestly, aside from that, the book was great!). If you’re someone who prefers higher-stakes drama or more intense conflict, this might feel a bit too simple for your liking. But Clara’s fear felt really human and relatable for me. It wasn’t overly dramatic—it was just real, and that’s what made her story so relatable. Solid 4 ⭐️ Thank you @timesreads for the lovely review copy!
Okay wow. This was the fluffiest romcom I've read in this year. 😮 Romcom girlies, you can add this book to your never ending TBR list.
Ahh reading this book took me back to my college days - crushes and guys and eye contacts and drama and gossips and giggles. What an aga that was! A perfect bridge between childhood and adulthood where real life is just around the corner, exhilarating and full of adventures. Oh no! I'm getting nostalgic now 😁.
Coming to the story, as I said, it's a fully fluffy mushy cute college love story. If you are expecting drama or angst, don't. I did kinda 😁, and that kept hindering my reading experience. Thanks to my booksta girlie @clo, I was able to understand the theme of this story : a feel good soft-core story. In fact, if you are going through a lot irl, this might be the perfect escape worthy book.
The protagonist Clara reminded me a lot of myself in certain aspects - pig headed, overthinker, semi social, pizza lover, obsessed on crushes, loves Wattpad romances and most importantly, uses her close ones' experiences as signs from the universe 😂. It was so fun to see her doing the very things she wanted to avoid because of how unexpectedly things were turning out. At certain points I absolutely wanted to strangle her for behaving so irritatingly (like why would you text and lead him on if you knew you were romantically cursed with that particular person?). But finally, after knowing the real reason, I totally got her. Happens, girl, happens. We are all powerless when we have a crush on someone 😂.
And imagine if the said crush is even better than your imaginary build up! That's Colton, our leading guy. Tbh, he seemed too good to be true and seemed quite fictional at times. This thought made me so sad after voicing it out loud. The things Colton did in this book are everything a girl wishes her crush to do for her and they are definitely not too much to ask. But I can't even imagine a single real man ever doing these kinds of gentlemanly things for anyone. The ASL moments added to the sweetness! The best part was the small twist at the end about his side of the story and that tied up a lot of loose strings for me - like why he's randomly dropping a girl home after barely meeting her. . There's a beautiful lesson I got from this book : feelings, love, life - everything is beyond our control and there's no way to know the future. Whether it will bring us tears or lead us home, only time can tell. In the meantime, the only thing we can do is to put a little of faith in the process of the universe and hope that the experience will be worth it. After all, everything makes sense in the end. . Romance and romcom readers, I am recommending y'all to read this one definitely. Cynical me was getting cringe vibes and was missing twists, I won't lie, but sometimes it feels nice to read about something we actually want but not possible irl. A perfect simple escape!
𝔸𝕓𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕓𝕠𝕠𝕜 :- Clara has made it her mission to avoid anything remotely cliché especially when it comes to romance. Colton, on the other hand, is a walking stereotype: star baseball player, charming, too handsome for his own good, and everything Clara thinks she doesn’t want. But when they’re paired up as ASL partners, fate has other plans… and let’s just say, the sparks are fluent in sign language.
𝕄𝕪 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤 :- This is Deidre Issac’s debut novel? Yep! Because it reads like the work of a seasoned pro. The writing is heartfelt and structured so beautifully that I devoured every page with a smile plastered on my face.
I adored the characters. Every single one from best friends to roommates added heart and soul to this story. It’s a slow burn, but there wasn’t a single dull moment. The plot may unfold gently, but it carries you effortlessly through each sweet, funny, and emotionally-charged beat.
Clara felt like a version of me on paper ambivert, bubble tea lover (maybe not), anxious overthinker. Her inner monologue was so relatable I kept nodding like, "yep, same." And Colton is the greenest of green flags. The kind of book boyfriend who makes your heart ache in the best way. He gives her his baseball jacket, texts her about missing ASL practice, and this part had me swooning he reads her favorite romance book!! I mean, come on!
The slow-burn tension had me kicking my feet and mentally screaming every time they tiptoed around their feelings. Their DMs, ASL convos, and all the stolen glances were adorable. This book truly knows how to serve serotonin.
Bonus points: the book is perfectly floppy. Yes, I’m that reader. And yes, I loved physically holding and reading it. Plus, shoutout to the music and book references so many gems! I now have ABBA on loop and added a bunch of new romances to my TBR.
This is everything you want in a wholesome YA sports romance with humor, emotions and characters you’ll want to befriend.
A huge thanks to @penguinbookssea , the lovely author @inabookdaze , and of course @chai_n_books & @bookstore.baby for sending me this ARC. 💖
“But that's the thing about being in a relationship with someone, you know? When you start to fall in love with them, you don't know when it will end. That's why it's called falling—not fall, fell, or fallen—because it's a continuous thing.”
Clara Healy is sure her family is cursed when it comes to love. After watching every relationship around her fall apart, she’s sworn off romance especially the cliché kind. No bad boys, no rivals, and definitely no dreamy athletes.
She’s managed to stick to her plan… until she shows up late to her college ASL class and ends up next to Colton Reed, the golden boy of the baseball team. Of course😅
This book made me smile so much 🥹 It’s one of those stories that’s just sweet, cute, and full of that classic college romance charm. Clara Healy is such a relatable MC - I love that she’s a reader and can understand why she was so caught up in the curse, but at times I did find myself a little frustrated with how much she let it take over her thinking.
Still, I’m glad she found her way and let herself be open to love (and Colton!! 💕). The chemistry and banter between them had me hooked, and I loved the slow build of their connection - the car rides, the Wednesday sessions, the little moments 🥰
A massive congratulations to Deidre Isaac on such a heartwarming debut! I’m so excited to see what she writes next. (Manifesting a book about Nina or Eliza next, please!!✨)
Perfect for fans of cozy, cliché-in-all-the-best-ways college romances. I’d recommend this for anyone looking for something fun and easy to escape into for a weekend read💖
Thank you Penguin Books Sea for sending me this review copy :)
Imagine reading this as an early 20s college student, with the youth and happiness of finding your own path in love and life ✨ But it seems different for Clara Healy.
When she meets her crush “accidentally” and then becomes his partner in ASL class, what a miraculous coincidence! 💫
It feels like a blessing for a young girl to get the chance to mingle and pursue a friendship with the man she adores 💕 It’s hard to believe that a sports star like Colton Reed would take her seriously—and that their story wouldn’t turn into a cliché. Clara carries deep personal issues long before she even understands love itself. The impact of her parents’ divorce and her sister’s situation feels almost like a “curse” to her.
I love everything about this novel in general: the supportive circle, the positive personalities, and the gentleman who treats her well 🫶 Deidre Isaac creates a very logical and non-problematic love story, which feels refreshing. The character of Colton reminds me of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice 🤍 Total green flags! 💚💚💚
The conflict is personal and touching, and it is solved with the help of the people around her. The novel shows that a healthy way to grow is by finding solutions through your close friends, siblings, and parents 🌷
Most of all, Clara is meticulous and responsible as a student, a very considerate housemate, and mindful of her own needs. Don't forget, she has taste like music preference, fav food, and hobby (reading romance)!
There are no complaints about this book. If I could request a sequel or duology, I would gladly give it 5 stars! 🥰✨
Cliches & Curses is a breath of fresh air. It cleverly plays with cliché tropes & heartfelt tale about Clara, having her trauma because the divorce of her parents. To escape the curse, she avoids cliché romantic clichés like falling in love with the bad boy, enemy to lovers thing, or falling head over heels with a star athlete. UNTIL she accidentally met their baseball star athlete, her forever crush, Colton Reed.
The 3️⃣ Things:
📈 𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉 Cliches & Curses isn’t just a love story; it’s also about a young woman wrestling with her beliefs, letting go of fear, and learning to be vulnerable and take a chance on happiness. But I feel Clara is so hard on herself, and she’s a really complicated person. Haha! Sorry, Clara!
🤟🏻🧋𝑺𝒊𝒈𝒏 𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒈𝒆 (𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒖𝒃𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒂) This story makes me want to learn ASL and buy boba tea right now! I love how the author includes sign language as one of the best influences for the protagonist. Just like Clara said, sign language is as beautiful as any other language.
🤗 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒔 The connection between Clara and Colton feels real and sweet. It’s a slow-burn romance filled with nervous glances, vulnerable moments, and growing trust.
Simple and straightforward, yet meaningful, especially for those like Clara who are afraid to move forward and paranoid because of the heartbreaking stories of their loved ones. 🩷✨
Thank you @penguinbookssea @chai_n_books and @bookstore.baby for the gifted copy! The pub day is on 17th of June 2025. ⚾️🧋Congrats @inabookdaze for your debut!
This is a debut contemporary romance which ticks off all the sweet and adorable moments of a perfect romance book but with a refreshing and unique idea of "curse". Yes, you heard it right! 🤭
The story follows Clara, who believes her family is doomed to go through the failure in their love life and decides to break the loop by avoiding any cliché romantic interests in her life and why is so confident? Because she is a romance reader like us! So, she strongly believes that with the knowledge of romance books and movies, she can easily identify and avoid all those typical cliche romance interests who might lead her to a doomed relationship making her fall right into the curse.
Inbetween all these hits and miss, she miss out one guy, the one she has been liking since a long time and thought won't be the usual romantic interest in her list. The fate definitely has its own tricks up the sleeve for our protagonist.
Its interesting to see how slowly yet beautifully both the characters started to interact and blend in together. I can easily say this protagonist was so easily relatable and the bond started to bloom slowly yet it was so good that each interaction left me smiling and giggling like a happy little girl 😁 all those small yet meaningful gestures were so pleasent and satisfying to read. After a long time, I read a book that left a huge smile on my face and a wholesome feeling in my heart.
This was an absolute gem….I’m obsessed with Colton Reed!🔮✨ This book was Smart, sharp, emotional and so original. It felt like breath of fresh Air. Cliche tropes meet language in the most creative way, with characters that are going to stay with you long after the last page.
I adored all the characters especially Clara and Colton🥺💖 Clara is such a relatable character, She is embodiment of all book girlies who spends their day nose buried in their romance books but in real life are scared to open up for the love. Clara meets Colton who is a cliche love interest, Campus heartthrob and star baseball player but his character has so much more depth then that. Now they are paired for a ASL(American sign language) class and they are supposed to spend some time together to practice the language. How this close proximity going to turn out?? We all know the answer for that🤭
This book gave me all the gushy , swoony feelings. Such a cute romcom with emotionally intelligent characters and best side characters. This is going to bring you back to your college days with all the feelings of having that first crush.
If you love language, storytelling, and a touch of cliche magic with emotional resonance then this is definitely your read.
The book in a nutshell: Clara having witnessed her own parents marriage and her sister’s relationship, in shambles; she convinces herself that her family is cursed when it comes to romance. Determined to shield herself from heartbreak, she vows never to fall in love. Enter Colton, the star athlete, whom Clara has a secret crush on. Will fate intertwine? Will there be sparks flying? That’s the rest of the plot.
As a fellow hopeless romantic, I found this story to be an absolute treat. It’s filled with tender, heart-fluttering moments that were simply delightful to read. The interactions between Clara and Colton were cute and enjoyable to be read.
I do understand Clara’s apprehension given that the things she witnessed as she was growing up. It made sense that she would build her own emotional armor, convinced that protecting herself was safer than risking heartbreak. Whereas Colton, was understanding and gave her the space and time she needed. That was adorable.
Overall, if you enjoy cheesy, feel-good stories that carry the charm of a Hallmark movie, this one is definitely worth picking up. It is the kind of book that warms your heart, offers a blissful escape, and reminds you why love, despite its risks, is always worth a chance.
Okay but... this book completely surprised me — in the best way possible. I went in expecting a cute college romance, and it is that, but it’s also so soft and emotional and full of heart that I didn’t see coming.
Clara’s character really pulled me in. She’s an overthinking, book-loving, emotionally guarded girl who genuinely believes her family is cursed when it comes to love — and watching her try to protect her heart while slowly letting someone in? I felt that.
And Colton?? Literal green flag walking. I thought he’d be just another smooth-talking dude, but nope — he’s sweet, respectful, gentle, and just… so good. He listens to Clara, signs with her, gives her space, brings her boba. I melted, honestly.
Their relationship doesn’t explode out of nowhere — it grows slowly, through awkward glances, quiet moments, soft conversations… and that’s what made it hit even harder. It felt real. It felt right.
It had me smiling so much, laughing at the little things, and just feeling really warm inside by the end. If you love a romance that’s equal parts swoony and soft — this one’s going to win you over.
“Clichés & Curses” by Deindra Isaac took me right back to my Wattpad days in the best way possible.
Clara Healy doesn’t just believe in curses, she’s convinced they’ve haunted her family for generations. Every love story she’s witnessed ends in heartbreak, so she’s sworn off falling for anyone who fits the typical romance mold. No bad boys, no rivals, and especially no jocks.
But fate clearly has a sense of humour. On the first day of college, Clara walks into her ASL class late and lands the one empty seat next to Colton Reed, the school’s golden boy and star baseball player. Worse? They’re paired for an assignment that will have them seeing each other every Wednesday.
What starts as awkward study sessions slowly turns into inside jokes, spontaneous hangouts, and moments that chip away at Clara’s walls. But falling for someone like Colton would mean giving the curse a chance to strike again.
This book was such a soft, heart-hug kind of read. It reminded me of the stories I used to binge between lectures, the ones that made me believe in meet-cutes and soft boys with secret depth. Colton is 100 percent golden retriever energy, and while Clara’s obsession with the curse tested my patience a little, her journey made sense by the end.
Huge congrats to @inabookdaze for this charming debut. And thank you @penguinbookssea @bookstore.baby and @chai_n_books for sending me this lovely review copy ✨ #clichesandcurses
