Jennifer's battle with extreme PMS takes an unexpected turn when her well-meaning scientist husband, Henry, concocts a medication to cure her mood swings. However, the remedy backfires spectacularly, transforming Jennifer into a voracious, acidic gelatinous blob! As she rampages through the countryside, devouring everything in her path, Henry is busy at work, securing global distribution rights to his breakthrough medicine, unaware of the terror he has created. Will he find a solution before it’s too late, or will Jennifer's hunger consume them all?
Severe trigger warnings for lovers of animals, small children, Santa Claus and baby Jesus.
I am so glad I was able to snag an ARC of this book! It was so fun to read, the entire thing gave off this great B movie vibe… I loved how at one point it went from children in a ball pit to an entire church congregation! Excellent storytelling and relatable characters, I look forward to seeing what she does next! 🫀🫀🫀🫀
This was a lot of fun. An addictive, unputdownable gooey gorefest!
We've all had the munchies when it's that time of the month, right ladies? Hungry and horny, in equal, heightened measures? Well, this portrays that particular trait 'extremely' well!
When feeding delivers the ultimate pleasure, the act itself causes you to start devouring everything in its path with a terrifying passion and determination.
No human or animal is safe from Aunt Flo, especially the fresher ones. Devouring everything in its path, literally, until it gets a taste for new delicacies.
Jennifer's journey was intriguing and horrific, watching her learn about herself and her new found feminine wiles and the way she/it became more intelligent was scary genius.
Renn has a real way with words, her narrative smooth, allowing the depravity within to flow freely and abundantly and the grossness to intensify throughout!
Having been given the chance to read this early, I literally just devoured (rather fitting for this story) this book in a few hours.
Aunt Flo is a vile little story that legit had me gagging most of the way through. Renn has the ability to write some of the most messed up scenes, then move on to the next before you have had a chance to swallow the rising bile. Aunt Flo has left me with a vile taste in my mouth and some mental scarring. Check it out!
Henry isn't exactly a failed scientist; more one who hasn't yet made the breakthrough that will put him on the map. Until now. His latest invention is one that will cure PMS. No more mood swings, no more discomfort. If only he could find someone to test it on. His wife, Jennifer, loves her husband she just doesn't know how to show it and spends most of her time belittling him. She feels some guilt toward how she treats him, but not enough for her to change her ways. So, what better person to use as a guinea pig for the new drug? Aunt Flo takes the crude term of 'on the blob' and runs with it as Jennifer becomes a blob-like monstrosity seeking to devour everything she can. The carnage and fun come thick and fast in this quick-paced and entertaining story as Blob-Jennifer goes on a rampage that sees all manner of folks being melted and absorbed. If you're looking for a creature feature with plenty of liquified remains, then Aunt Flo is a must.
A great creature feature story, think the blob but much more nasty, Harry a scientist develops a new drug which he decides to test on his wife without her knowledge with devastating consequences as she turns into a killer blob! With lots of gory scenes.
One of the most disgusting, horrible things I’ve ever read , I loved it from start to finish , Henry is a scientist who thinks he’s onto something big and to be fair he is , just not in the way he’s thinking , constantly harangued by his harridan of a wife and living in the shadow of his father in law and fellow scientist, Henry rushes the trials of his new drug and it backfires in a spectacular way , this book is so good it gets an easy 5 stars from me , it’s sick , twisted and utterly gross in all the right ways l would highly recommend this book to anyone that likes feeling grossed out or that matter anyone who really likes a really good twisted tale .
This might be one of the most disgusting but great books I've read. If you truly looking for a book where you can get disgusted, you need to read this one. It's the classic story of a well-intentioned medical breakthrough gone wrong.
Just when you've read one disgusting scene of the pink slime eating everyone, it only gets better. It has a classic B-Movie feel to it. It reads like a crazy 1980s horror movie that I probably would enjoy.
I only have one piece of advice before reading. Make sure you have a light lunch or better yet make sure your stomach is empty before reading!
I could not tell you how immersed I was in this story. Having lived a life of horrors pertaining to my reproductive health, this was a little light reading. We follow Henry's journey to find a cure for his wife, Jennifer. To help her cope with the time of the month essentially, to combat the monster that raises its ugly head known as PMS. I mean, the marriage isn't great anyway. As Jennifer belittled and tore down Henry through the years. The fact the guy stuck around out of loyalty and misplaced love, really made me feel sorry for him. Especially as he tries everything to make a scientific breakthrough only to be reminded by Jennifer. That he will never compare to her highly acclaimed father, who was a success in the academic field. Honestly, I had some sympathy for Jennifer being pulled into an arranged marriage or losing her trust fund way of living. But honestly a part of me had some deep satisfaction when Henry made her his first test subject for the ‘medicine.’ Then we watch as things seem to get a little better between them, before her side effects get horribly worse. Then it's like a homage to the blob with a mix of John Carpenter's The Thing. Fueled by hunger and the need to feel the unsettling sense of pleasure from devouring. The reader follows the carnage and wonders how Henry intends to undo the mess. One thing is for sure though, no one is safe! Kids, animals, even baby Jesus. The story has some dark humour that is hard not to appreciate, the part with the two guys debating the origin of the creature had me in stitches. Renn did such an incredible job with the story and I loved every second of it.
Extreme gore: Check High body count: Check Gross out scenes: Check Reading experience salt and peppered with utterances of JFC and WTF: Check
This story was short and very unsweet. There was an epic amount of death, violence, and gore packed in these pages. PMS can be Hell on everyone within the radius of the afflicted, but it can't hold a candle to the PMB (pre menstrual blob). Aunt Flo reads like the most insane film that could come out of Troma Entertainment, and Lloyd Kaufman is sitting somewhere jealous he didn't come up with the story. If you love ridiculous horror situations filled with gore and insanity, this is the rare occasion when you want a visit from Aunt Flo.
Aunt Flo is an extremely entertaining and wild ride all the way through, with triggers galore.
Henry is a scientist who hasn’t found success in his endeavours. Until now. His wife, Jennifer, is a harridan of a woman who becomes even worse when Aunt Flo visits. Henry has found a cure for her extreme PMS and skips animal trials, instead testing it on his wife, whom he loves despite her constant belligerence towards him.
The cure has unfortunate side effects, turning Jennifer into a ravenous blob that wreaks havoc upon the countryside.
Reminiscent of The Blob, Renn spins a fun and entertaining read that also manages to be terrifically gross and nasty.
I was lucky enough to be able to read an early copy of this novel, although lucky might be a subjective term as I spent most of my time reading it trying not to vomit. The story is amazing, a throwback to the B-movies I loved so much as a kid with my father, and the plot is exceptional. The violence comes at a rate of almost every page from the start of the second quarter but the plot never stops for one second. It is my second read by the author, and I cannot rate it highly enough. This book is savage as f*** Highly recommended.
Henry is working on something to help women with their periods. But it doesn't go as planned. When Jennifer turns into an acidic blob, carnage awaits her at every corner.
Christ. This took a lot of thought into this monstrosity 😂 this is super trigger heavy! The creativity that went into this amazes me. I do love Renns style of writing and how she has no limits to her filth. The ending was a big woah for me. Super unexpected and had me staring at the page for a bit 😂 We need more from this author 😍
WARNING!!!!! Triggers galore, but........ Good Grief, absolutely hooked from start.... to finish, I was given this to read , I am so privileged. I gagged, laughed, had to give myself a few minutes about 3 times 🤢 but that's the genre, an absolute gem of a read . Loved the characters, us women have all felt the anger, stress, emotions, pain etc when "Aunt Flo" comes to visit. All there is to say is...."Old McDonald had a farm, ee ii ee ii OHHHHH MY GOD "😱😱😱😱
I went into this one blind, only knowing the (obvious) subject. Well I wasn't expecting that! A jam packed short read, with a very high body count and not all of them human! Creature feature isn't my favourite subgenre but I absolutely devoured this in one sitting (pun intended hahaha). The fact the creature was still sentient but totally driven by a desperate need gave the story an extra depth. An excellent read with a great twist to the ending and definite 'The Blob' vibes throughout.
I was one of the lucky few to receive an advance copy of this and I'm so glad I did. I loved this novel gore gore and more gore. I loved the whole B-movie vibes from it and the descriptions of what the creature did was stomach turning in the best way. Wish I could give a higher score ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Henry has spotted a gap in the pharmaceuticals market. All he needs is a human trial. Even if he doesn’t hang around to find out the side effects.
Jennifer is hungry. ‘It’ is even hungrier! A variety of local delicacies await. I was already gagging at the fur balls, but that turned out to be one of the tamest feasts!
This is a fun and gross out read. And that ending makes me very excited !!!
Having read and enjoyed Vagina Squids from Mars late last year co-wrote by the same author, I was looking forward to this when I received an arc, and thankfully I wasn’t disappointed. Henry is a scientist who, so far in his career, has consistently failed to make any kind of scientific impact - much to his wife, Jennifer’s derision. But after coming up with something he thinks will make women’s periods a lot less horrible, Henry decides he needs to conduct a human trial before taking his discovery to his employers, and so slips some of his new medicine into his wife’s drink…with less than favourable results. To reveal what happens next would spoil all the fun, but needless to say if you like the kind of b-movie schlock horror movies that were all the rage in the late seventies, eighties, and early nineties then you’re simply going to love this. It’s deliciously violent, delightfully depraved, and a real throwback to the old creature features and body horror movies that you just don’t see in abundance any more, and that ending…well, wow! What can I say except this is right up there with one of my favourite reads so far this year, and I look forward to checking out more of her work!
