A beauty marked for death. An alien shifter determined to protect her.
Tessa pours her heart into her family’s bakery, despite the constant demands from her cruel stepmother, Lenora. But when Lenora’s jealousy turns deadly, Tessa finds herself at the mercy of Korrin, a terrifyingly attractive Vultor bounty hunter.
Korrin neither likes nor trusts humans, but even he has his limits. Hired to make a beautiful, curvy woman disappear, he chooses to protect her instead, hiding her in the wilds of Cresca. But Tessa’s unexpected kindness and her determination to care for seven orphaned Adyani pups begin to thaw his icy heart.
A poisoned betrayal from someone Tessa once trusted forces Korrin to confront his deepest fears—and his growing feelings for the passionate woman who’s turned his world upside down.
Can a woman with a tender heart and an alien hunter with a guarded soul find their happily ever after?
Each book in the Alien Wolf Tales series may be read as a standalone romance. These sweet and steamy tales are intended for mature readers.
Me lo he pasado bien.
Loving this series and book 2 The Alien Huntsman is fabulous!🌟💖🔥

This is another fun fairy-tale retelling with a sci-fi twist in the Alien Wolf Tales series. It's a spin-off of Phillips' How the Aliens Were Won series, set on the same planet. However, each book stands alone and can be read out of order without spoilers.
As the title suggests, this one is a reimagining of Snow White and the Huntsman. The human baker FMC plays the ingénue, while the alien shifter MMC is hired by the evil stepmother to make her disappear.
The story is surprisingly sweet—especially considering it starts with a kidnapping. The FMC and MMC share an insta-love/lust connection, bonding as they care for seven alien wolf pups.
It's a fun and spicy sci-fi twist on the classic fairy tale, set against an intriguing colonization science fiction backdrop. I'm looking forward to more from the series. Book 3, Alien Charming, is scheduled to release in mid-April 2025.
Spice: 4/5 Plot: 4/5 Writing: 4.5/5 My Enjoyment: 4.5/5
The couple are nicely matched, but the puppies steal the story. The fairy tale theme is well-written with a believable HEA. I'm looking forward to Seren's story.
'Time seemed to stretch between them. His hands remained on her shoulders, huge and warm and surprisingly gentle for their size. Something stirred in her chest— a strange flutter of recognition even though she knew she’d never seen him before... She stood frozen, her heart racing for reasons she couldn’t name as she watched him go. The encounter had lasted mere seconds, but she felt oddly unmoored, as if something fundamental had shifted inside her.'
I loved this book! A wonderful retelling of Snow White. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Tessa and Korrin. She was kind and sweet, caring and understanding. A sharp contrast to her stepmother Lenora's cruelty. Korrin is honorable and capable (I LOVE an honorable male lead). He has every reason to dislike and distrust humans. Even so, Tessa affected him- not just her beauty, but her kindness. She was innocent and he refused to kill her. Lenora wanted her gone, dead or not, and I like that he rationalized that wherever he brought her to would be better than to leave her at the vicious woman's mercy.
I liked the parallels in that both Tessa and Korrin lost their fathers, and both their lives suffered for it after their deaths- for Tessa from her cruel stepmother who worked her like a servant, and for Korrin from the cruel people who begrudged his Vultor heritage even though he was just a child at the time.
I loved Tessa's caring for the seven orphaned adyani pups after she found them and their dead mother. I liked that they would grow to be predators, yet she cared for them without hesitation. Loved that Korrin didn't leave them behind when he took her away.
“You’re not monsters,” she told them, watching as they finished their meal and began to play, tumbling over each other in mock battles. “You’re just trying to survive, like the rest of us.” 'In taking care of the pups, she’d found something she’d been missing since her father died— a sense of being needed, of having something to love.'
I loved the way their relationship built, how she continued to surprise him and win her heart over. I think it was very telling that even when she thought he was going to kill her, she wanted to know what would happen to the orphaned pups. A beautiful romance. Can't wait for the next! 5 stars.
🖤 “Before I found you, I was lost in darkness. You brought light where there was none.” ~~~ Tessa is amazing! She’s caring, compassionate, understanding and kind, even to those who don’t deserve it. Even more, I loved her quiet strength and resilience. And she has such a sweet, patient and sunshiny personality. Tessa is a wonderful woman and I loved her so, so much!
Korrin is a Vultor bounty hunter and one very intense male. He’s growly, dangerous and lethal. But there’s more to him than meets the eye. Because underneath Korrin’s grumpy and stoic facade, is a male who’s lost so much, a male who’s considerate, caring, honorable and fiercely protective. Korrin is an incredible male and I adored everything about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Tessa and Korrin! After losing her father, Tessa continues to work in her family’s bakery under the demanding and always criticizing eye of her cruel stepmother, Lenora. That’s until Lenora contracts Korrin to get rid of her. And the fearsome Vultor bounty hunter finds himself with more than he bargained for. I absolutely adored Tessa and Korrin together! I loved their chemistry and the tension between them. Even more, I loved that Tessa constantly surprised him with her understanding and acceptance. Korrin truly did his best to deny and fight his feelings for the lovely human woman, but what’s meant to be is meant to be. And when they finally gave into the undeniable attraction, the passionate moments they shared were so hot and I couldn’t get enough of all the naughty and knotty delight. Tessa and Korrin were absolutely perfect for each other and, after everything both went through, they more than deserved to find happiness, healing and love together!
Overall, Alien Huntsman is a fun, sweet, spicy and emotional story and another wonderful addition to the series! Oh… and, I almost forgot, there are seven adorable alien puppies, too!
I love these twists in fairytales !!! Fun, easy read !!!!
What a delightful story !!! Once again we are transported to a little village on Cresca. where the Baker gets her story . Tessa is the Baker of breads and pastries, and Scarlett's friend from the previous book . She misses her friend, but is so happy for her. Tesssa' s father taught her everything she knows , and the bakery always reminds her of him and happier times. He remarried , and Tessa thought she would be getting a mother figure . What she got was a wicked step mother. After her fathers death , no amount of anything she dud could please her step mother . Lenora demanded more , and more until Tessa was worked to the bone. Tessa had no prospects in town , so she was kind of stuck where she was. Unless you counted Edgar, the wealthiest man in town. The way he looked at Tessa made her very uncomfortable. Very.
Korrin is a Vultor, a wolf - type of species on Cresca, that most people avoided. Korrin is a sort of bounty hunter for hire. He is very good at finding people who don't want to be found. On this particular day , he is in town for a job. When he realizes that Lenora, Tessa's step mother , wants her gone, he is not happy. When he realizes that Tessa is his target , he feels some kind of way . So when opportunity presents itself, he makes his move. He is woefully unprepared for what he finds !!! As Tessa , and Korrin find themselves stuck together , true love has a way of working its magic . Until things go wrong !!! This book was a lovely , easy read , and I always enjoy a foray to this place!!! We see some people from previous books , and get introduced to some new people !! All around, A great story !! 😃😃
The next Vultor male is up and Korrin's surprisingly soft-hearted when it comes to the most recent job he's agreed to take. To be fair, he only took the job because he knew Tessa's stepmother would just contract with someone else if he didn't. And he REALLY didn't like the idea of Tessa being disappeared by anyone. Himself included.
So he whisked her off to a hidden cabin. As I mentioned, though, the big guy is pretty soft-hearted and he also took the Adyani pups she was caring for when he took her. Since, you know, they wouldn't survive without her. So now he has a sweet human and a small pack of pups to care for. Not that he's caring for them. He's just socking them away in his cabin for safekeeping.
There is absolutely no caring involved. Probably.
On Tessa's end, she's a little leery of her current situation, but she doesn't exactly feel unsafe with Korrin. Sure, it might not be the future she saw for herself, but she's happy for the first time in a long time. It isn't long until Korrin's gruff kindness has her looking at him in a romantic light. Sure, they have more than a few speedbumps along the way, but things work out. Eventually.
A little betrayal, a handful of mischievous pups, a cabin in the woods, a steamy kiss or two, a Vultor who has to learn how to share space, and a lady who chooses to grab her happiness with both hands when the opportunity presents itself. GOOD TIMES!
I'm so addicted to these heartwarming , romantic "fairy tales". As in the previous story about Scarlett and Finnar (Big Bad Alien) it shadows a fairy tale. This one snow white and the seven dwarfs. Only she has seven adyani puppies. I loved Tessa. She brought her sunshine wherever she went , was compassionate and caring. Of course her stepmother didn't like the competition for the richest man , Edgar. Even though Tessa tried to avoid him. I loved Korrin's part in all of this . He is the hunter. Not liking "humans" and their greed . I loved how he slowly realizes Tessa isn't like other humans. The first couple of chapters gives you clarity of who everyone really is. I loved the worldbuilding. I could picture the little cabin in the woods. The puppies and their unconditional love and protectiveness towards Tessa. Of how Tessa slowly won over Korrin. Her patience to his true acceptance of her love for him was fun to read. Edgar (the richest man in town) played his part well. He always gets what he wants. Not in the case of Tessa though. He learned the hard way what happens when you take Korrins sunshine away. Action and mystery throughout. Steam to the eventual romance. And of course the perfect fairytale HEA for them.

Alien Huntsman is the second book in the Alien Wolf Tales series, and brings together in another passionate pairing, sweet and innocent Tessa and Vultor bounty hunter Korrin. Tessa has become the undeserved target of her evil stepmother Lenora’s jealousy, and to which the cold hearted woman has sought out and hired Korrin to make her disappear, one way or another. What Lenora doesn’t know is that Korrin has already met Tessa after they accidentally bumped into each other in the human market. Their interaction may have been brief but for Korrin the inner and outer beauty of Tessa lights a small spark within him that all to soon will become the brightest of flames. As we are immersed again in the world of Cresca in a story that draws its inspiration from a fairytale, the reader will be treated to a narrative that is wonderfully written, entertaining, spicy, romantic, and charged with emotion and personal vulnerabilities. Such a journey will the reader be taken on with a baker and her bounty hunter that is set within another of the author’s highly enchanting reads. HEA.

4 stars for vibes, but there were a lot of annoying holes in this one. The fact that they didn’t bring up Scarlett, Finnar, or the enclave at alllllll is quite literally *unbelievable*. He assumed she had no idea about the Vultor and she didn’t feel the need to bring up the fact that her best friend *just* bonded with Finnar?? She had been up to the enclave to visit multiple times if I’m remembering correctly from the last book. Annoying lack of communication that would never happen in real life. They didn’t learn annnnything about each other during their week in the cabin. Like they hardly spoke. It was kind of painful. I don’t think they had like any chemistry at all. Only loved each other because they both had been treated so badly they clung to the first person to treat them decently. Also the whole thing with Edgar concocting the plan to poison the honey and then grape her?? Makes zero sense. Why would he do that? There’s nothing for him to gain and he’s like an old guy. Idk it seemed super weird to me. Aaaaaaanyways it was still fun. I should prob drop it to 3 stars but here we are.

Vultor bounty hunter meets his match with the human baker!!
“She belonged here. The realization hit him with unexpected force. Not just in his cabin, but in his life.”
As always, when I’m starting a new Honey Phillips book I am smiling inside because I know I will get main characters that move me and a story that resonates even when finished. This story is so beautifully written. Tessa and Korrin have both been molded by loss of their parents. Tessa, a human, has been little more than a servant to her stepmother for years after the death of her father. When her stepmother feels a rich suitor is more interested in Tessa, she “hires” Korrin, a Vultor bounty hunter to “ get rid” of her. Tessa is a wonderful character - full of kindness and love for everyone, especially for the orphaned adyani pups she has been secretly raising. Korrin is entranced and takes her away to safety. But be aware that danger lurks. Can’t wait for Seren’s story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this story.
This is the ultimate grumpy/sunshine fairytale! Korrin is so delightfully grumpy. Tessa is such sweet sunshine. Her beauty is soul deep. Even though her home life isn't happy she still has joy and gentleness to share freely, whether it's to a little boy or a litter of adyani pups. Tessa's stepmom hires Korrin to make Tessa disappear...which is the beginning of his downfall and I loved it! I really enjoyed his growth and, I guess you would have to call it healing. Korrin is really one of my favorite characters that Honey has written. And so is Tessa. She deserves her HEA! It has plenty of action, drama, giggles and of course romance! I love this Alien Wolf Tales series. It has become one of my favorite fairytale series. I think I would love to live on Cresca with all of the wonderful aliens and their precious mates. The stories leave me feeling warm and cuddled...and in the times we're living it that is no small thing. The characters who people the world have become wonderful friends I can visit again and again. And Honey's writing is magical. Enjoy! I did
Tessa's father had died and left her with her evil stepmother. Tessa tried to be a good daughter to her, but when the richest man in the city wanted her instead of her, Tessa had to go. Korrin is a Vultor bounty hunter that evil stepmother hired to get rid of Tessa. Kerrin does have standards and will not kill innocents. Stepmother says you don't have to kill her, just take her far, far away. Korrin decides to take her away to keep her from the evil stepmother and when he goes to capture her he finds out she is carring for seven Adyani pups. Those dogs are enemies of both humans and Vultor so he is surprised at her caring for them. When he takes her, he takes the pups, too. He takes her to his cabin planning to make sure it is stocked up for the winter and then leave her, but he can't. It is in the cabin that he begins to fall in love with her and she with him. The story gets more exciting from there; the bad guys are taken care of, the evil stepmother gets what she deserves and there is a hint of who's in the next book. This is an enjoyable series.
Korrin is a gentle but powerful male. He has a scared past that has shaped him into the male he is. A bounty hunter. Tracker and finder. But now he is asked to take care of a women’s stepdaughter. This stepdaughter is someone he wouldn’t think twice about but for some reason this human is getting under his skin. Tessa is miserable living and working for her stepmother. She has never liked her stepdaughter and since her father died that has been terrible. She loves baking but having to do it under her stepmothers instructions and constant stress has turned it into a task she doesn’t love as much. One night while out taking care of the adyani pups she gets a chance at a new life. It starts out with a taking but ends with the best thing of her life happening. She gets to meet and learn Korrin on a personal level in an intimate setting. In the middle of the woods in a one room small cabin with pups as chaperones things happen.
Tessa loves keeping her father’s legacy alive with baking in their small town. Unfortunately her step mother has always been jealous of her. She despises her and sets her up to be taken away. Korrin is an Vultor, he is also a bounty hunter and is pulled to Tessa in a way that he fights with all his being. She cares for pups that other humans would have killed instantly. Kidnapping her in the middle of the night and taking the pups with them changes everything. There is a push and pull between Tessa and Korrin, he has been alone too long yet he fights the comfort being in her presence brings him. Their relationship is built slowly and over time. The passion between them is explosive and emotional. After being taken by Edgar a wealthy cruel man from her village Korrin must go everything to get her back.

Fairy tale retellings are often unnecessary, at best, and lazy, at worst, but Honey Phillips’ Alien Wolf Tales series hits that sweet spot of honoring the beloved stories with a unique twist. The settings—cozy mountain cabins and a charming village—evoke the nostalgic comfort of classic fairy tales without being irritatingly twee. The combination of plucky, self-actualized heroines and possessive, secret-cinnamon-roll alien shifters will be familiar to fans of alien and shifter romance. And the books are cleanly written, without the typos and grammatical errors so frequently found in independently published books. The only thing holding me back from a 5-star rating is that both of the first two books in this series contain jarringly grim references to rape and subsequent/simultaneous murder that jerk you right out of the otherwise cozy tone of these books. A content warning at the beginning wouldn’t go amiss…
This is Tessa and Korrin's story of heartache, danger, gentleness, strength and love. The plot twists kept me guessing. The growing connection of our couple kept me reading into the night. The sadness and joy filled me. And I had to keep reading and wishing there was more. Honey knows how to tweak all of our emotions, wringing us out and putting us back together. I did not feel like throwing my reader but I sure hugged it a lot. So many great side characters especially the adyani pups. I'd love to read more of their adventures and how they navigate the Vultor and Human worlds. And Honey gives us a sneak peak of our next main characters.
Boring. So predictable. You can do a retelling and have it be fun and fresh, but this felt rehashed and dull. Very wattpad style writing. Also. It was so fucking repetitive. 60% could have been cut out without losing anything. Truly. I struggled to finish it.
Wolf man alien (MMC). Snow White retelling. Virgin FMC. Knotting. Scenting. Saved from other man. Attempted rape (not fromMMC). Consent. Mating. Mating bite/mark. Poisoning. No OWD. Slight OMD (gross rich old man wants her then tries to rape/kill her). No pregnancy. No cheating. No breakup. Epilogue 2 weeks later with a public wedding and a look ahead into the next book which seems to be Cinderella.

2.5 rounded up to 3. While this was cute and an easy read there were a few too many similarities to the first installment and that made it less enjoyable. There was a kidnapping, a reluctant male lead who hates humans and a main character gets poisoned; just to highlight a few. There was a LOT of repetition especially in the first 50%. I liked the ending for Edgar not so much the ending for Lenora. The confrontation in the bakery just felt like wish fulfillment even in a fantasy book.
All in all I am not sorry I read this and I will read the next book when it comes out but I think the first book in the series will probably remain my favorite.

It is a beautiful story of healing, redemption, hope & love. I loved Tessa & Korrin from the first glimpses of them in the first book in the Alien Wolf Tales series. I loved truly getting to know them as individuals & as a couple. Tessa is beautiful inside & out with such a loving & giving heart. Her love & care of the adyani pups were such a sweet & wonderful addition. Korrin never stood a chance with a woman like Tessa. She broke down his walls with her kindness, patience & love for life, the pups & him.
This is a great story. I'm ready for the next one 🩵🩵🩵.
This was a solid read. I liked the fairytale retelling, the found family element, the cozy atmosphere, and the romance. I finished it last month so I don't have a lot of fresh thoughts, but I had a good time reading this one. I liked it more than the first book, and I thought the care-taking and playful scenes with the pups were cute. I also enjoyed the ending ceremony scene. It felt like it wrapped up well while setting up the next one. I would say if you enjoy Honey Phillips writing, then you should give this one a try. It's not my favorite from her, but it's still pretty good and worth a try.
Tessa is well liked in her human community on Cresca while her cruel stepmother is not. When that stepmother hires a bounty hunter to get rid of Tessa, that bounty hunter, named Korrin, decides to protect her instead. Korrin realizes how kind hearted Tessa is when he takes her to his cabin for protection and Tessa insists on taking the Adyani puppies with them. Korrin fights his attraction to Tessa but he loses that fight. When she is poisoned and almost dies, Korrin takes care of the man who poisoned her. Once the danger for Tessa is gone, she realizes her love for Korrin and her community can coexist. This is a sweet romance with a happy ending!
From the wonderful imagination of Honey Phillips, Alien Huntsman is a very clever take on Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, if there were seven feral pups instead of dwarves, and her huntsman captor was Snow’s shapeshifting fated mate who’d sacrifice anything to keep her safe.
There’s peril, passion, and did I mention pups? It’s a delightful ride and I recommend it highly.
I was very generously provided an advance reader copy from the author and booksprout, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.
A fine tale of love! Sometimes love finds you in the most unusual ways. I adore Tessa! She has the most delightful personality, even though she’s living in difficult circumstances. I think Korrin is great! Even though he’s not a fan of the usual human temperament that he observes, he recognizes Tessa’s innate goodness. That changes her fate forever. The story is richly populated with interesting characters. I’d love to learn more about some of them! Dig in, enjoy these fascinating folks, see what makes them happy. I love this book!
