The Queen of His Heart: A Second Chance Romance

Rate this book
Pregnant to my first boyfriend is not how I thought I’d end my final year of high school, yet here I am. A year later, with a baby, stuck in this small town living with a man I’m starting to think I barely know.
Turns out teenage pregnancy isn’t even the hardest part. Everybody has their deep, dark secrets. I’m getting good at hiding mine. Or at least I was, until I was thrown back into the path of him.

Bryson Decker.

He’s the guy I always wanted but could never have. Right when I want to be invisible the most, there he is, seeing what nobody else can.

He thinks I’m a victim who needs to be saved. He might be right.
I think he’s got no idea what it will take to be my white knight. Maybe I’ll find out.

Trauma. Loyalty. Danger. All Bryson wants is to be in mine and my daughter’s lives. But before he can save me, I need to save myself first.

The Ace of Westlake High is a new adult, second chance romance with mature situations and content. It is book 3 in the Royals of Westlake series.

Sweet HEA for Sophia and Bryson! My heart hurt for what they had to endure, but glad they got their happy ending.

My biggest issue was only that some chapters started with dialogue and either the other person’s name wasn’t brought up until later or not at all, so I was a bit confused on who the MC’s were talking to, and, as an author myself, I feel like I pick up on more common errors and noticed a few 😆

Author Nicole Goodin has sensitively it superbly portrayed a controlled coercive relationship with a heavy sprinkling of Karma and lashings of love and HEA.

Bryson is one of the main characters along with Sophia and her little one Aria. He comes across as protective, respectful and is certainly able to handle himself.

Unfortunately whilst in school Bryson and Sophia obviously had eyes for each other but never acted upon their feelings and then Sophia became pregnant with the prize pr!ck Josh. A dude who just didn’t get the memo on the prize that he had won with Sophia and his little girl and decided to throw it down the pan.

A dude I just couldn’t wait for his downfall and comeuppance and boy Karma came a knocking.

Truly enjoyed this book. Like the others in the series exceptionally written with characters from the previous books being included.

Nice one Nicole Goodin - absolute class act !!

Yeah and WOW!! We finally get Bryson’s story in this young adult romance. I enjoyed every bit of this "Royals of Westlake" story. The characters are strong and the plot intriguing and interesting. There might be possible triggers in this one. The story is about Bryson and Sophia. They went to high school together and shared a kiss; one neither forgot. She ends up pregnant by her boyfriend in her final year. Bryson kicks himself for not acting on his feelings. Sophia has little Aria as her worlds turns upside down. Bryson is there to offer a helping hand and bides his time. I love this story and could not put it down. What both characters went through was tragic but led them to each other. Little Aria, of course, still not on hearts in this story. The story is emotional and heartwarming with drama, trauma, teen pregnancy, drug abuse, domestic abuse, love, healing, passion, support, family, peace and so much more! Loved the story and the characters!

Too much violence against women in this read.

Poor choices and even with a retribution arc against the villain just did not care for this read. A KU option, at least.

Great romantic story

I just fell in love with Bryson from the start. I love that even though he endured so much his child like unconditional love is there.
