Rosewood Beach #3

A Place for Daydreams

Rate this book
An uplifting family saga about siblings, laughter, love, and new beginnings.

Dean Owens has always been the steady, hardworking type, building a life on his own terms in the small town of Rosewood Beach. But after learning that he has arthritis, everything he’s taken for granted—his job at the garage, his independence, even his confidence—feels like it’s slipping away.

At his family’s urging, he reluctantly agrees to start physical therapy, expecting nothing more than a routine list of exercises. Instead, he meets Noelle Calhoun, a sweet and encouraging therapist who recently moved to town to be closer to her grandparents.

At first, Dean struggles to accept that he might need to slow down, but Noelle’s gentle humor and genuine care spark something in him that he can’t ignore. When she admits that she hasn’t had a chance to explore Rosewood Beach yet, he finds himself eager to show her the best of his hometown. Late-summer walks near the shore and visits to local shops soon grow into a connection he’s never felt before—one that both thrills and terrifies him.

Meanwhile, Julia and Cooper edge closer to a fully shared life, although Julia worries that she’ll always be an outsider in parenting Macey. Alexis and Grayson settle into their new home, giving a fresh start to the marriage they nearly lost. And Hazel, determined to find her footing after heartbreak, devotes her time to self-care and her teenage daughter as she steers clear of romance… for now.

Take a trip to Rosewood Beach, where the water is warm, the sand is soft, and the Owens family is waiting to welcome you into their lives! This sweet and uplifting women’s fiction series is the perfect bookish escape.

A Place for Daydreams
Rosewood Beach 3
By Fiona Baker
Narrated by Amy McFadden

So this is my first adventure in Rosewood Beach, and I am hooked! What a great small town! This story features Dean, the town mechanic who has begun to slow down due to early osteoarthritis. With some encouragement, he begins physical therapy with no expectation that it will help. He finds out it helps in more ways that one! Noelle is the physical therapist and it's her cheery encouragement and consistent help has wormed her way into his heart. But does she feel the same? Each scene is more romantic than the rest as these two find their way to their happiness. But it's not just them! There are characters from the previous books, and though I didn't listen to those yet, I didn't feel left out which shows what a fantastic writer Fiona Baker is. This is a fun, easy listen.

Amy McFadden brings it all to life as she visits Rosewood Beach. Each voice, easy to distinguish, each emotion, easy to feel, she finds the essence of the scene and makes me able to see it in my head. I love her, and this performance is exactly why.

A Place for Daydreams is book three in the Rosewood Beach series, and follows Dean and his love interest, Noelle. We learned in the previous books that Dean is grappling with a tough medical diagnosis, and what that means for his life moving forward. When that diagnosis lands him in physical therapy, he meets Noelle and is quickly drawn to her. Dean and Noelle's story is sweet. They meet at a particularly low point in his life, and she is able to give him the confidence that he needs to pursue a romantic relationship despite his present difficulties.

As with the first two books, it is nice to follow the same cast of characters and get to experience how they all grow in their relationships over time. I appreciate that about Fiona's writing - she doesn't rush the romance plots and allows the couples to have a more naturally-paced HEA. Getting the POV of several of the Owens siblings in each book allows a glimpse at everyone's lives in the current timeline.

Amy McFadden's narrating style is growing on me as I listen to each subsequent book. She does a great job of managing a large cast of characters and managing to give each of them a unique voice.

A Place for Daydreams by Fiona Baker is a warm, comforting listen that wraps you in small-town charm and heartfelt moments. This story is all about second chances, family connections, and finding the courage to dream again, even when life hasn’t gone to plan.

The audiobook narration by Amy McFadden is soothing and engaging, perfectly matching the gentle pace of the story and making it easy to sink into the world of Rosewood Beach.

It’s sweet, comforting, and full of hope, the perfect audiobook when you want something light, charming, and easy to fall into.

The third book in the Rosewood Beach series centers on Dean and his efforts to improve his osteoarthritis. Starting physical therapy, he's charmed by Noelle, his lovely physiotherapist. Their journey from friends to a couple is very sweet. Naturally, we also look at Dean's three sisters and their attempts to find a rewarding life with or without a partner. I love these small-town romances and Fiona Baker has another successful book. I'm already looking forward to the next story.

This is the third installment in the Rosewood Beach series, and it’s another lovely addition to a series I truly enjoy. Dean and Noelle’s journey is emotional, romantic, and heartwarming. The characters are well developed and engaging, and it was a pleasure to reconnect with familiar faces from the earlier books. Amy McFadden did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I thoroughly enjoyed this listen. #BlueNoseAudio

So wholesome and sweet! Although the book was short, I loved that the romance between Dean and Noelle wasn’t rushed, and it actually flowed smoothly throughout.

Noelle is definitely a warm hug that Dean needed after all he’s been through (and will continue to go through).

Thank you to Blue Nose Audio for an ALC of this title. All opinions are my own.

Thank you, Blue Nose Audio, for the opportunity to receive an ALC of A Place for Daydreams!

I loved getting more 'listening time' of Dean! I've been waiting for more of Dean. Again, Fiona Baker does a great job in continuing the story of the Owens' family. I love seeing the different experiences that each sibling faces and how they all work together to face it!

Amy McFadden, again, does a stellar job with this narration. I will never tire of listening to her!

The writing is very simplistic and formulaic. I felt like I was reading something written by a beginning writer. I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, but this one was a let down.

This was another cozy read about the Owen’s family. Dean’s emotions were so heartfelt and his struggles real. Noelle is a great addition to Rosewood Beach. Love the characters and their dynamics together. I can’t say this enough. Just love this town and the relationships. Just a sweet read. The Owens family are extremely likable and genuine. Just a great listen. The narrator was very good and I enjoyed this read. Can’t wait to read more.

Thank you Fiona Baker and Blue Nose Audio for the opportunity to listen to this ALC for my honest review.

A place For Daydreams

Great story. As a person living in with the same disease I know my limitations and am always pushing them. But now at the age of 84 I don’t wan to push myself any more. No thanks.
