OMG that was one of the best books I've read in the last couple of months. What is done in the dark always comes to light poor Mimi I could not be in her shoes, and that man well so called man of hers was doing way too much. How can you say you love someone but in 2.5 seconds you humping on the next chick. He deserves everything there is too come and Tyreek poor guy. Can't wait to start reading part 2 this was an great read story flowed no mistakes. I would recommend this book
Secrets Lead To Drama, Drama and More Drama! This review is from: SECRETS OF A KEPT BITCH (Kindle Edition) Amazing read from newcomer Ambria! Definitely worthy of 5 and more! Story was interesting and stayed on point! ALL characters were well developed which kept you entertained and on edge the entire story! I cheered at the ending because I know it made for a great sequel! Really anticipating her next read! Great job Hun!
This book was so good I couldn't put in down... I really hated Mimi's so called mother... How can a mother make kids suffer just bcuz the man left them.SMH. Kaylin was so selfish. Just like a man they can cheat but hate 2 b cheated on.N Stacy was a hater!! With friends like dat who needs ENEMIES..TROY was such a good friend... Get it Jay fight for your girl...U did a good job... PATIENTLY WAITING FOR PT2.. DON KEEP ME WAITING LONG..
Oooh whee Ambria Davis! I had to read this book twice because it was that good. If there is a sequel I'm going to read that book too. You are definitely talented and a blessed writer. Keep up the great work.
Mini has put up with a lot with Kay since she was younger. Why is it always a jealous friend. Kay is dumb there would be no way in hell would I trust Stacy around my kids. Troy is a true friend. Mini needs to make it for her kids & Jay sake
So, I had kind of given up on urban fiction. With the exception of a few authors I love that write this genre? Everything else is... Subpar. I pick this up from the library having finished the book I was reading heading into work. I needed a book to read on my commute home. I didn't expect much at all. Welp! Now I'm siting here anxiously awaiting the next in the series to be ready for pick up at the library. I need to see what happens next. Amina (Mimi) has been with Kaylin for years. She and her bestie Troy moved from Nola to Atlanta to escape rough starts in life. Kaylin followed. Now Mimi is successful (she has her Masters and owns several businesses). She also has three kids with Kaylin. Kaylin cannot stop cheating on her. No matter that he says he loves her, more and more other women keep popping up out of the woodwork. Sometimes pregnant. Mimi finally realizes that enough is enough. She has also met a guy that might be worth leaving Kaylin for... What happens as she tries to leave? The characters in the book are not all fleshed out. Neither are they all likable. You also have to suspend belief at one point. But the twists and turns make this a fast paced read. 3.5 stars
Eh. I was not a fan. I wanted to like this book but I just couldn't. Plot holes. Underdeveloped plots. Farfetched storylines. And Repetitive dialog killed it for me. The kicker was the narration. It sucked. I had to listen to the book on 1.7x speed just to bypass the unreasonably long pauses between passages. Even at that speed the pauses were out of control. No desire to read the next book to see how it all ends. No thanks.
While I enjoyed the book there were a few instances where the timeline wasn’t consistent or the timing of the events seemed off to me. That threw me off quite a bit.
Read it. Mimi, Troy, Kaylen, Mark, Stacy, etc. it’s so many ppl I. This book that intertwine together you need Ancestry.com to do a family tree. This was another juicy drama filled book.
decent read for the price I hope this want be drawn out like all the other hood novellas and part two should defiantly bring it home. I don't think the plot is strong enough for more than a sequel and the ending was not all that thought out. seems a bit last minute. this book won't make a good trilogy but if she ends it well with part two she will set herself up for a nice following of fans with her future work. keep in my that she is a new author but she has mad potential to bring you something on the level of Shonda Cheeks, Terri Woods and similar authors. I rated it three stars because it started of decent and tried to go left at the end to introduce you to the sequel. where as it should have just been wrapped up there in book one. Authors don't understand that it's starting to become a detractors when it takes five books to tell one solid story that roughly 320 pages alone could have filled. But we live in a society where ratchet sells. lol
GHETTO Fabulous Hood Stars..that's what Urban fiction is made of.
I enjoyed the characters and story, and if I told about the mistake... I'd give away a pretty important part of the plot twist..but aside from the daughter being 8 yrs. old and the writer calling her 4 or 5 yrs.old. I mean everyone is entitled to a misprint...and all in all I understood any ways.Decent Urban Fiction title...NEXT!
Wth!!!!This book was so cray to me.I can't believe all the drama. The secrets and turns was crazy.I can't believe all the betrayal that went on.I hated Kaylin he was a sorry bastard.Shay was a slut.Troy was my girl. And Mimi I felt bad for and I'm glad she finally got some get back. That ending had my mouth wide the hell open I wasn't expecting that at all.I can't wait to read the second part
At first, I didn't like going back in time from the future. I don't understand how Mimi had twins and Kaylin didn't know. How did she have the girls and he didn't know that she was carrying twins. One stayed with Tyre and the other one went with her. That's the only thing that makes the story unbelievable. I will get book two.
I really enjoyed reading all the drama in this book. I would definitely recommend that you read it. If you read this book you're in for a wonderful treat. Great job Ambria. Now on to part 2.
There was so much drama in this one I dont know where to begin!!! This book started out by grabbing my attention and had me begging for more at tbe end!!! Ready for part 2
