Sleeping with my boss is not only forbidden- it’s reckless. But hockey’s grumpy single dad has me breaking all my rules- and his.
When I walked into Parker Townsend’s pristine world, I knew I didn’t belong. Yet he’s desperate for a nanny and I’m desperate for a job.
I’m the girl with the broken heel and the juice-stained blouse. He’s the NHL star who color codes his sock drawer.
He hands me a binder of carefully outlined rules. I can’t help but break them, one by one.
I’m almost fired, but his daughter’s thriving. And now Parker is looking at me…differently.
One kiss was a momentary slip-up. One night of passion was unstoppable.Until I cause a PR frenzy that turns his world upside down, and Parker turns colder than the ice on the rink.
Now I’m wondering if I’m just the chaos he regrets… or the woman he’s willing to fight for.
Okay Grace annoyed me throughout the majority of this book. I understand that Parker didn’t react the best to the picture getting posted, but girl he didn’t cheat on you or have a baby with someone else or lie to you! He and Bessie were alone for a long time before Grace and I don’t think she thought about the consequences before she sent her brother the picture. I did like Parker’s character, but Grace really ruined the book for me.

I really like the first third of this book, but as the story progressed and I'm using that term very loosely, the characters kept having the same inter monologues the same conversations over and over and over again. It was getting old. But then the author decided that it was a good idea for the third act break up, a non-issue if ever there was ever a non issue exploded the relationship. It is the dumbest thing I think I have ever read. Something simple is blown so completely out of proportion it is stupid. It's so dumb. Things that should be in the book for the plot or not or just completely skipped over in our summarized in a teeny tiny little blurb, and things that shouldn't be like this relationship bomb is. It's maddening. I can honestly say this book has irritated me so much to the point that I had to put it down for a few days cuz I was so pissed off at it.
I honestly do not know if I will continue with the series after this book. Which bums me out because I'm a Michigander my hockey team is Detroit Red Wings, and I was excited to have finally found a hockey series that centered around Detroit.
Whether or not I continue with the series is going to completely depend on how this book is wrapped up and how the second one fairs. If book two is more of the same rehashing of conversations then I will probably just drop the series.
Also what the hell professional hockey player plans to have his wedding smack ass dead center during the middle of the playoffs??? Not after the season and before playoffs or after, but literally between series 1 and 2?
This is my first book by Lily Doral and it definitely won’t be the last. I love, love, loved this book. I’m not normally a single dad/hockey player and nanny type of reader but this book just sucked me in and I couldn’t get enough of it.
I loved how the book starts out with Parker being all about the rules. He made a large binder, colour coded, tabbed, and it included excel sheets coordinating everything (yes contingency plans are important). But I loved even more how Grace came in like a wrecking ball and shook every up! Bessie (Parker’s daughter) is incredibly adorable and her type of chaos once released from all those rules matches perfectly with Grace, plus they both live unicorns, which you can’t go wrong with.
I absolutely loved this book and I hope you do too.
Parker is a Hockey player in a Detroit Acers ,NHL's most eligible bachelors and a single dad. His parents take care of his daughter while his in games. His grandmother fell and needed a surgery and his parents has to go to Florida. He has to find a nanny in a week time . Grace was a museum curator she in need of work her mother found a nanny position for her, when she started the week to prove herself she made a mess in the kitchen,he was going to fire her because he is strict and needs everything shiny. But his daughter is another thing, she loved her the moment she saw her.
This is a lovely book to read, Who loves sports romance this is the book😉.
Parker is a single dad and needs a nanny when his parents had to leave town. Grace worked in a museum but lost her job due to cuts and she applies to be a nanny. Parker wasn't sure about hiring Grace but took a chance. Seeing how his daughter is with her draws his attention to Parker. Its not long before things heat up between them. Will this be something more for them?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

I enjoyed my pucked up single dad which was Parker and Grace’s story. When she walked into Parker Townsend’s pristine world, she knew she didn’t belong. But they’re both desperate. Him for a nanny and her for a job. It was an intriguing and very entertaining read. I received a copy of the book and voluntarily leaving my review.
Parker is a hockey player with a little girl Bessie. He needs a nanny and Grace applies for the job, she is so not what Parker wanted but she is what both Bessie and him needed.
Parker has spread sheets with rules and time lines, Grace looks at them and puts them aside. She brings love and laughter and some chaos to them all.
This book was sweet, war and heart-breaking. I loved the interaction with the characters and the overall fun with the little girl. This was a great book to curl up on the couch with. I honestly read this book in one day. Highly recommend!
She was 8 yrs old but acted 5 .. and portrayed as 5. That's a long time to hold on to her hurt feelings. Keeping her out of the light and media.. I'm pretty sure her signs and such doesn't keep her out Sweet romance
Good romance story. Loved the characters and their connection. Parker and Grace were perfect for each other. Loved his daughter and the way she loved grace. A good happy romance.
Very sweet, light-hearted story. Will definitely hit you in the feels at times. Story has some sweetness, a little bit of spice, and some feel-good humor.
This was super cute and boy was Bessie full of light and wonder only a child can bring. Cute nanny and single dad romance with minimal heat and lots of laughs.
