Crossed by Blood #3

Of Nectar and Steel

"If I lived a hundred million lives, it wouldn’t be enough."

Her presence commanded me instantly.

Her scent ravished my senses, altering my course. The flavors of her aura moistened my mouth; the most tempting nectar to ever cross my path. Like a man dying of thirst, I had to consume more and would do anything to get it.

I’d come across interesting souls before, but hers called to the deepest levels of my spirit. Desperate, I searched for the source amidst the crowds until I found a trail of sparkling bronze mist.

Finally, a woman’s slim form was weaving through the throngs of people, shivering along, and leaving a path of swirling snow and temptation in her wake.

Just as suddenly, she disappeared into the bustling crowd, but the metallic sparkle of her luscious aura left a distinct path for me to follow.

Like a man possessed, she'd never escape me once I'd claimed her as my own.
There was nowhere in the universe she could go I wouldn't find her.
She was the purest, most radiant stardust I’d ever seen and her fate had been determined the very moment she'd entered my awareness.

I would bring her to my home, tucked inside the void between realms where I could keep her safe. Mine.

Little did I know, my own ghosts were catching up and no amount of bloodshed would keep these demons at bay.

The monsters demanded to be fed and to keep her safe, the only sacrifice I could offer was myself.

This is a dark vampire fantasy romance with a happily ever after. If a reader is new to dark romance, the main male character may come across as morally gray/black.
Four standalone books are planned for this series, each one following a different couple. Of Nectar and Steel is Jude and Karissa's story. No particular reading order is necessary.

Karissa felt him haunting her at first: a strange stir of wind, a phantom touch to her hair, a presence she could feel in the shadows. When a strange man rescues her from a bank robbery, she wakes in a beautiful mansion and she just knows it's him. And he's taken her to an unknown place with two moons...a place she can't escape.
Jude has always been alone, found wandering the desert as a child and enslaved for the magic in his blood. He's the most powerful sorceror, but even he can't find a way to free himself. Even though he knows he can't protect her from the Collective that enslaved him, his love for Karissa could be his downfall, or his freedom. The key is to make the angel love a monster.
After reading about Josiah and Micha, Jude's story felt a bit disconnected. The first half of the book, I could feel how much he was trying for her despite his instincts and mistrust of everyone. But after the drama with Karissa's parents, the love and intimacy felt forced. I just couldn't really connect with these two characters. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I'm hoping for better in the last book. Elijah and his abilities and troubled character should make for a fascinating read.

This book was a roller coaster I did not want to end! The story kept me on my toes the whole time and I was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events. Of Nectar and Steel had everything you want as a dark romance/fantasy reader. Morally grey, dark and suspenseful, forbidden love and morbid romance. The trigger warning pages at the beginning of the book were accurate so please pay attention to these as they are present within the story.

Obsession and burn the world down for her vibes had me staying up way too late to finish chapter after chapter. Larissa really made me feel connected to the mfc which really made the story come to life.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend for anyone that needs a little darkness with their romance.

This is the first book of Larissa’s that I have read and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I enjoyed her book. She left me wanting to know more about the characters! I did not realize this was book 3, until I was finished. This is fantastic! Jude and Karissa’s relationship is intriguing. My favorite part is a quote from Jude “Humans merely assumed they went to heaven or Hell or just faded into nothing. Other creatures such as I knew the truth about nothingness. You merely became a part of everything else around you. The wind through the trees, a droplet of rain. Stardust. Most importantly you were free”. I hadn’t really thought about what happens after but this certainly makes me think! I can’t wait to read more of Larissa’s books!

Another brilliant read......

I'm so invested in this series, I can't wait to find out what happens next, I'm devouring the pages but wish I could slow down lol I don't want them to end!!
This book is about Jude and Klarissa, he's a powerful half sorcerer half vampire, klarissa is just the sweetest and I don't know how she coped with Jude's darkness and violence but she just accepts it for what it is.
This is such a good book and I urge to read this series , i guarantee you won't be disappointed!!

This is the third book in the Crossed by Blood series. I did not know that going in, but it didn’t really make a difference. It was an enjoyable dark, suspenseful romance. It will keep you on the edge of your seat The chemistry between the MCs was dynamite and explosive! The character development was nice. The relationship between the two was well created and not rushed. The plot drew you in and kept you on the edge of your seat. A great read.

This is an ok series but maybe it is the writing style that I find lacking. How he came to be an orphan never explained who was the man who raised Jude and what happened to him. Nope nothing. Each ending is not really an ending in any of the books. Della and Josiah were in this but they don't explain Josiahs reaction to Jude or a follow up other than Della and Ashley did not answer phone call.

Of Nector and steel book what can I say other than the two main characters Jude and Karissa are meant to be together body and soul. Start to finish what an amazing intriguing ride. WOW 💕💕💕

loved this continuation

The ending! Talk about a cliffhanger! I love the relationship between Jude and Karissa. So many bad things happened to her, I’m glad it ended with a happy ending for her!
