All Lock demands in return is three days of complete control over the Sunday School teacher. With a contract, because he's been burned before. One misstep could send the band—and his tenuous sobriety—up in flames.

Hailey and Lock push each other's limits... Against the penthouse window. Backstage. In the limo and on the elevator. But as the contract counts down, neither are ready for the party to end.

1 sad lonely star... :(

Should have been titled Three Nights of Unbelievable No-Plot or something. Despite the promising blurb, Three Nights with a Rock Star fell flat.

The heroine went from being a Sunday school teacher with almost no experience with sex to a groupie in a blink of an eye. Not only that she signed stupid contract with a stupid entitled rock star. And then they have sex, sex, sex, sex, and yup, you guessed it -- more sex.

Her reasons for doing it was just lame. Her sister's story was far more interesting. But other than that, this book was just boring.

Utterly indulgent smutty smut with a side of smut :)

This was a lot more erotica than I expected. Not sure exactly why I assumed it would be different. The level of erotic content was just more than I had prepared for. Menage and some mild BDSM themes took me by surprise. I'm okay with a menage scene before a couple is committed. This one sort of felt awkward, though, in that there were some blurry lines that I felt should have been clarified a bit. It was very sexy, that's for sure!! It was just the emotional side of it that was a bit lacking.

The BDSM...not so much pain/humiliation type. More slap and tickle stuff, but there was a part where he has her kneel while he feeds her that just seemed out of place. I think with regards to these two heavier erotic themes, a longer book would have been better. Because both the menage and the BDSM was left to the reader's imagination at the end of the book. And to me, if you're going to write a believable contemporary with either themes included, they need to be addressed and explained and heavily weaved into the story. Instead, they felt added here just for the titillation. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I'm just trying to include the point so that the expectation is there that both are somewhat glossed over.

Honestly, the sex was smoking hot. I didn't buy that this uber innocent preschool teacher could turn on a dime into this raging up-for-anything nympho within minutes, but hey...it's a fantasy.

One thing that bothered me was how much Christianity was included in the story, and how irreverent the plot and certain instances were. I did like how not all congregation members were shown to be bigoted hypocrites, though. I get tired of that theme. And not that any one sin is more sinful, but the biggest eyeroll moment for me was I really wish that whole scene was different.

If you're looking for a fun, short, ridonkulously sexy rock star erotica, this fits the bill. If you want realistic romance, you might want to suspend belief for a bit. Read it for the escape, read it for the sex and the naughty factor. Would I read the next one? Absolutely.

Three Nights with a Rock Star fell into the okay zone for me. Basically, the story line entails an overprotective big sis infiltrating America's biggest rock band, Half-Life, and trying to figure out which bozo knocked up her sister.

But, as luck would have it, she gets caught by the band's front man, Locke, and he gives her an ultimatum: three days of unlimited access to your body in exchange to go snooping around my band mates and play detective.

However...as luck would have it, everything isn't what it seems as you find out that Chloe, Hailey's preggo sister, is hiding something. What could it be?

Is the baby's father perhaps Locke? And with Locke and Hailey's feelings growing deeper, what could this mean for them?

Will Hailey get her sister's baby daddy to man up and take care of his child? And will three nights with Locke turn out to be more? Or end up in heartbreak?

My thoughts: So like I said in the beginning, this was an alright read. It was simple, light, and ultra sexy.

BUT...

I did not buy the romantic relationship of Hailey and Locke. While I did see one particular aspect of their lives that sparked some sort of camaraderie between them, I just could not see this three day period and turn of events leading to them to fall madly in love with each other. It just did not make sense for me.

There was no chemistry between them and all I really saw was lust and hot sex. Nothing else.

I don't know guys, a decent read but very unrealistic in my eyes. Sorry!

Caution my review may contain slight spoilers. (Given free copy by author for my honest opinion.)
This novel could have been so much more.It started off great, but the character development was minimal and scenes were not well done and choppy at best.
Hailey is this responsible, mother-like character who is on a mission to find out who her little sister got pregnant by.
Now I had some major issues with the story line. It sounds like Hailey didn't try hard enough to get the truth from her sister plus she went about it in all the wrong ways.
So she tries to find out who impregnated her sister by offering herself up as a call girl? You would think a girl who had to play mother all her life would have a bit more sense. How is this realistic? There is no internal struggle with herself as well on accepting the offer that Lock gives her, she basically just says "Where do I sign?"
Then we find out who the real father is within the first few chapters, which took away from the allure and mystery that could have been. This kind of fell in the "okay" nook. If approached better, it could have been awesome. This book is pure smut, with no real literary awesomeness that made me want to finish it such as a dull story line and flat characters. There has to be a balance between them both. If you are looking for a fun read, this book is for you. If you are looking
for something with a bit more sustenance, I would recommend skipping past it.

3 “Into the belly of the beast” kisses

I am a hard-core rock star lover. They really don't have to do much to make me weak in the knees and drooling…what can I say, I’m helpless to their powers. While Three Nights with a Rock Star really had me in a lot of ways there were just a few things that left me...wanting more.

Hailey Miller is the polar opposite to the world she immerses herself in. She’s a teacher at church and has the personality to match. I’m not saying she is naïve but the environment she is walking into isn’t exactly second nature to her…she’s just a good girl. She's had to give up a lot in her life...she had no choice when her mother abandoned her and Chloe, her sister, it was either step up and become an adult or lose the only other family member in her life. She has been Chloe's only constant and in her time of need, Hailey is there to do whatever she can to help. It's very admirable and brave...little does she know she is walking into the belly of the beast.

‘She’d never known a tongue piercing could be sexy. She wasn’t sure why it was sexy now either, except that it just hinted at so much…sensual knowledge. And she’d always had a yearning for knowledge.’

Keaton 'Lock' Shaw is...a reformed bad boy...but while he may have tamed his misbehaving ways, he still has an edge to him, he just doesn't involve drugs or alcohol. Which leaves him with one vice left - sex. Lock is...alpha and controlling and hot. I dug his persona, both on stage and off but I wish we could have gotten to know the real Lock better…I feel like I latched on to him better, but I didn’t get enough. One of the many POV’s we are in is his so we do get his thoughts, but I can’t help but feel he had more to offer. Lock is a complex guy and there seems to be endless potential with his character and we barely scratched the surface. That was one of the things I loved about him…his complexity, I was aching to get more into his head because from the bits that we get, he is just amazing.

‘So she wasn’t here to try and fuck him. Why did that make his dick hard?’

Okay, so clearly, three days is not exactly a huge time frame to be working with to develop a relationship, especially one that is based purely on sex. I am A-Okay with this as long as I feel it emotionally. I felt some things...I felt lust...their carnal passion...the sexual freedom they had with each other - I felt a whole lotta hotness. Unfortunately I did not feel that bond...there were a few brief movements where I got close but there just wasn't enough to base it on. And that really sucked for me because as a whole...I like Hailey a lot, reeeeally liked Lock, I was feeling their connection but...couldn't get that last emotional bit. If this was just based on their sexual connection, I felt that and then some…but I’m a romantic to my core and I wanna get those mushy feels! I loved them and while I know Hailey and Lock had that in them…I know part of the reason why I didn’t feel it like I wanted to.

‘He’d hurt her so good she’d give voice to that desire before he was through. She knew it. He knew it. The subtext breathed in the air around them, a living thing, that damned contract came to life. She wants this. She wants the lurid celeb fantasy. The shock, the pulse-pounding vibrancy that only exists on the edge of a bad decision.
He’d take her there.

There is also a lot going on...I'll say it again, we are in 4 POV's...Hailey, Lock, Chloe and Tim (I won't spoil who Tim is but he's pretty important) - I am fine with multiple POV’s but I am almost positive that that might have been why I wasn't getting the emotional connection. It’s not that it was confusing, cause it really wasn’t – it’s always very clear whose head we are in, but it was definitely distracting. This was really two stories in one – Hailey’s and Chloe's and to do them both justice, they really should have been separate. I think both of them could have been developed more, we could have gotten more of each characters back-story, it just would have made a huge huge difference IMO. Chloe's story is relatively minor, so I get it but I just feel the story was cheated because so many aspects were being covered. I felt pulled in so many different directions and I guess I was just spread too thin to be invested in what was going on with both couples.

‘She brushed her lips over his Adam’s apple. “How are you feeling?”
“Better now,” he rasped.
“I’ll be waiting right here, after the show. Ready for you. Wet for you.”
His breath caught, and she went to find it, licking along the seam of his lips, darting inside to meet his tongue. I want you, she said with her kiss. I believe in you. He responded with a groan of gratitude.’

I think the other thing I struggled a bit with was the writing. There were points when I loved it and it flowed well, it was funny as hell and sexy as fuck. Then there were points that were choppy and staccato and didn't gel with the rest of the book. I've read a few books by two authors and never really been able to tell the difference, their voices blended well, this was the first one where it felt like it was written by two people because things just didn’t mesh. I do have to bring it up again, this was an insanely hot book...I would say bordering on erotica...at least the sex was that level IMO. It was creative and sinful and I never got sick of it. Lock's alpha Dom thing completely did it for me and it's not BDSM or Dom/Sub kinda stuff, Hailey and Lock just have that kind of connection and it works. Really well.

‘Because she knew exactly hot it felt to want something you couldn’t have. There was no fair play for love, just for sex. And everyone might get a turn, but no one could keep Lock if he didn’t want to stay.’

I did love the ending...it was a great way to tie up both stories and I was really happy with the outcome...but I'm really excited about Krist's book...I sincerely hope there is more background and explanation behind his relationship with Lock because Krist does play a significant role in TNwaRS, I found myself as drawn to him as I was to Lock (for all sorts of different reasons too) and I have a lot of unanswered questions. I wish I had loved this more but it was still a sexy intriguing read.

Oh lads. Lads. LADS.

I'm trying to figure out how to write about how awful this book was without personally insulting the author(s). So I'll do a series of points and you can come to your own conclusion.

* Hailey and Chloe volunteer for their local Church. Hailey is a Sunday School teacher.
* Chloe spent a summer selling merchandise for a rock band, Half Life.
* Chloe is pregnant and will not tell Hailey who the father is.
* Hailey leaves her pregnant sister alone, dresses up as a rock chick and crashes a party she knows the band will be at.
* She meets lead singer Lock, who appears to be very horny and very angry for no reason, who says he will help her find the person who impregnated her sister if she signs a contract saying, basically, she's Lock's sex slave for the weekend.
* She signs the contract.
* There's a lot of sex and a lot of Lock wanting to "hurt" her or "punish" her etc. Someone he has just met.
* There's then a blow job that gets papped, a threesome with a bandmate that's just pure weird, and a lot of shiting on about spanking and ramming and grunting etc, etc.

I appreciate a bit of erotica as much as the next person, but only if it's done well. This wasn't. We're supposed to believe that this sweet, innocent, religious, virginal, softly spoken woman is going to ride this big, butch, macho, domineering, arrogant, angry man like a pony within minutes of meeting him? Stop. There was NO reason at all for the sex - I didn't even believe that Lock was attracted to Hailey, just that he had a hard penis and needed somewhere to put it. He had serious issues and there was no chemistry between them at all. Interestingly, there was chemistry between Lock and the other person in the three-way, but it didn't go anywhere.

I can't even blame anyone but myself - I read reviews of it before I read it, and my curiosity got the better of me. "Surely" I thought, "Surely it couldn't be that bad? But it was. It was that bad. I feel like I need to wash.

"Follow me, Hailey. Let me lead you down into the belly of the beast."

Long story short. Hailey is on a mission to find her sisters baby daddy and make him step up to the plate.

She has looked after Chloe her whole life after having deadbeat parents, and needs the dad to step in. Chloe won’t say who it is, but as she has just come home from a tour with Half Life (she sold merch) Hailey decides to start there.

What she meets however is Locke. The lead singer of Half Life.
Every changes with that one meeting. Insta lust.

Locke has had a shitty past and has been used by others and abused by himself, he has been sober for a year after the sex tape.
Because of that tape he now has his conquest sign a non disclosure statement.
He agrees that she can try to find out who the dad is by accessing the tour. If she agrees to sleep with him for 3 nights.

Of course she does and that’s where it all starts!

My thoughts

Hot cover!

I did like this book. I just didn’t love it.
The “chemistry” between Hailey and Locke wasn’t all that believable, I know insta-love is huge in the book world but I have read better chemistry for the HEA to happen.

But don’t let that change how you feel. The sex was HAWT! Locke is a bit of a dom and it shows.
There is also a threesome and some M/M action.

The hardest part of me to believe is that Hailey the Sunday school teacher was down for a threesome, and some of the other stuff.
I did however like that was written from more than the hero and heroines POV. We also got Chloe and Chloe’s baby daddy. It was like 2 stories one!
Too many questions were left unanswered though.
I’m hoping that they will pop up again in the next of the series.

Oh and another thing? I love that the band has there on website!
I’ll be reading the next for sure.

Three Nights with a Rock Star is another book penned by a writing duo, Amber Lin and Shari Slade. This is the first book I've read by either of them. What we have here is a highly erotic romance with a rock star and let me tell you this book amps up the steam factor. It's wickedly hot!

I did like the book, there were just some things that didn't mesh for me. It was a quick read, less than 200 pages, and that's what kind of bothered me. I think there were parts added that didn't need to be and other parts needed to be fleshed out a little more. I didn't have much of a connection to the H/h or to a few of the secondary characters. I just didn't believe them as a couple.

If I was rating this book on sex alone it would be 4 1/2 stars all day long. The characters just didn't do it for me. I'm definitely open to reading the next book though. Especially if it's as smoking hot as this one.

This book was always going to be go big or go home. I don't star reviews, but give THREE NIGHTS WITH A ROCK STAR a devil's horn while also waving a lighter. After reading...I'm still ready to rock with Half LIfe.

This book lived up to all my expectations. Slade & Lin together are the awesomesauce. Much of the book is steam-coming-out-your-ears hot, but then moments of aching emotion creep up and wallop you over the head. I don't want to give away any plot spoilers, so I'll just say the characterization was verra nicely done and the words are deliciously crafted.

Can't wait for Krist's story in book two.

Three Nights with a Rock Star is a total fucking mess of shame, nasty(ish) sex, and messed up relationships with no real purpose at all. I don't consider myself a prude, but some of what was described I found nauseating, laced as it was with the desire to control, to hurt and be hurt, use and be used, each burdened with shame. There was a strange mmf threesome scene in which it was made clear that the other man was unrequitedly in love with our so-called "hero" and seemed to crave being degraded by him. What was the point of this little anecdote? And Tim - ewww! In what world does him being a churchgoer excuse him having sex with a former pupil-of-sorts? What a little creep. And let's not even mention the buttoned-up preschool teacher turning into sex-crazed groupie in about half an hour.

3.5 STARS

This review contains a spoiler

I’m kind of torn on this book and whether I liked it or not. As I read, the story did keep my attention. It was interesting, sexy and I’m a total groupie for the rock star romances, especially when the rock star falls for a woman who is totally opposite of the typical fan. I pretty much finished it in one sitting, so score 1 for Three Nights With a Rock Star!
However, while I certainly was entertained, this band didn’t go platinum for me as I was distracted by a number of things.
First, I realize the whole purpose of reading is to slip into a fantasy world, but there has to be some element of believability. How was a prim Sunday school teacher binding herself to a stranger for sex without even really reading the terms of the contract going to help her find the man that got her sister pregnant? She has zero to go on, but talking to the band and the crew is going to help her find this mysterious man? And the fact that his identity is revealed so early on is a little bit anticlimactic. Throw in the incongruities of how these two women who live a meager existence have the money for random plane tickets and how Hailey just happens to stumble upon the band at a hotel with no security there to keep her away, simply because she had on fishnets and a short dress, and you have me scratching my head as to how this is all supposed to add up.
Second, the sex scenes were oddly written. There was some imagery that left me not truly understanding what was going on during these scenes, and I simply didn’t get how some of the actions linked in with the rest of story.
** SPOILER ALERT **
For example, when Hailey and Lock shared an elevator (and more) with Krist, who apparently has harbored feelings for Lock, who was video taping this? As an integral event in the story, this is never answered. And how did Krist’s feelings play into the story as a whole? Was there a point to bringing this in? Why did Krist need to know if Lock was in love with her before he staged a distraction to the video and exactly how was he able to manage that? ** END SPOILER**
I am a sucker for endings that tie everything up in a nice, pretty bow, and the epilogue of this story did just that. I like seeing how the characters are doing, long after the final page, and I appreciated being able to know how this couple was faring. It just didn’t answer any of the questions that I had all along. I will certainly be in the market to read Krist’s book when it is released next, because I did enjoy my time with the band. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that rough edges of the story are smoothed out and there is more continuity than existed in Lock’s story.

Three Nights with a Rock Star, Amber Lin and Shari Slade
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews

well – being an ex Sunday School teacher myself in my teens and like Chloe pregnant and unmarried, this book struck a chord with me. I’ve also a weakness for the Rock Star romance bit too so...
Big sister Hailey is determined to make whoever got her little sister pregnant take responsibility – she’s not after him to marry her, just do his part as a dad and be there for Chloe and the child..she’s not thought it through though, travelled on impulse and ends up totally out of her depth. She’s a quiet girl, looked after Chloe since she was 18, took a job with the church to support them both instead of doing college, and has gone out of her way to ensure the sisters aren’t tarred with the same brush as their mother, who everyone knew was a drunk who used men to pay for what she wanted. She feels like she’s been so serious all the while that fun has avoided her, so when Lock comes up with his three day control proposal she can’t resist the chance to let go. She hasn’t told Chloe what she’s doing though, and Chloe is holding another big secret that could have made a huge difference...
Hailey and Lock are scorching together, a new experience for her and Lock keeps telling himself its novelty he’s feeling, turning the good girl bad and nothing more. He’s kidding himself though and the heat between them gets hotter and hotter, especially when band member Krist joins them one night! Of course something that hot has to explode – and it does.
Well, this is a fun read, and very erotic and sensual. I enjoyed the real “touring” feel to the novel, having read some rock and film star ones recently where the characters lived the part in name only, and filming/touring wasn’t part of the action. I like to feel the whole life of the characters, to be there with them, to live the drama as they do and it worked well here.
Stars: Five, a great read.

This wasn't a bad book at all. I enjoyed the ride it took me on as I read. The issue? It is like all the rest. It could've been slightly different because of certain events, but I think those story lines got swallowed up by the sex.

The book was a typical boy meets girl, has no intention of falling for her, has amazing sex, gets to know girl, falls in love, and sweeps girl off her feet. The end. Throw in some BDSM and a girl who is a "church mouse" on the outside, but a freak on the inside and you have the jist of the story.
One thing I am so happy that was left out was the whole jealousy of the fans/groupies which seems to be a constant in rock star romances. I find that so annoying. But what was involved in this story was some interesting twists that involved a certain band mate, which could've (if expanded upon) made this so different from the rest and let it stand out amongst all the others.

Like I said, though, the sex seemed to swallow up any emotional moments or interesting circumstances that came up. Not that any of the sex scenes were bad, because they were hot, Hot, HOT! And Mr. Lock was one sexy as sin dom. Gotta love a man who can talk so dirty you need to fan yourself and take (in your mind, at least) a very cold shower. ;-)

As far as characters go, he was amazing. She, on the other hand, I couldn't quite get a handle on. She started out as one person then, Hailey, turned into a sexually curious woman ready to do anything. I couldn't quite fit rhe two into one person. It was like the girl from the beginning wasn't interesting enough so she was edited into a sex kitten only they forgot to change the beginning to fit that persona. It was confusing. I was hoping the good girl, church mouse would stick around throughout the book, showing that even though he wanted to corrupt her, she could still screw him and keep her original personality in place.

Lots and lots of erotic sex. Just didn’t work for me.

The sex was more mechanical than emotional. I prefer sex scenes where someone’s desire is part of the action, reaction, and words. Here the sex is mostly do this, do that, oh it worked. I was bored with the sex. I would have liked more emphasis on characters and the relationship. It’s hard to say why this didn’t work for me. I stopped reading at 76 pages and then jumped to the last 20 pages. It’s about 2/3 the length of a regular novel.

The back story:
Two unknown fathers. The mother dies or leaves. Hailey then raises her younger sister Chloe alone. Hailey works as a preschool teacher. Chloe travels with a rock band selling merchandise for them for a while. She returns home and tells Hailey she is pregnant. She won’t tell Hailey who the father is.

The current story:
Hailey goes to the rock band hoping to talk to people there to discover who the father is. One of the band members Lock is attracted to her and says she can stay with him if she has 3 days of lots of sex with him. But she must sign a confidentiality agreement. She does. Meanwhile Chloe’s story continues back home. The two stories go back and forth.

I received this book at the RT convention.

DATA:
Narrative mode: 3rd person. Story length: 201 pages. Swearing language: strong including religious swear words. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: lots. Setting: current day Chicago and Las Vegas. Copyright: 2014. Genre: erotic contemporary romance.

First let me say that based on the few reviews I read about this book, I was all set to be disappointed but boy was I wrong. I don't know what book these people read, but it's not what I read! LOL
This was really steamy and sexy read with well developed characters that you wouldn't think would fit, but Amber Lin made them fit! You have the lead singer of a rock group paired with a responsible 'do the right thing all the time' girl .... how could that possibly work? very carefully and very HOT HOT HOT , i tell ya!
SO, you know the basis of the story from the blurb so I won't waste your time, but what you don't know is how well it is written. This is a fun, fictional book full of not so every day things happening. But that's why we read fiction, right? To escape reality. Well, this book is one way of doing it and with so much steam, it will come out your eras ;) lol
HIGHLY recommend as a quick, fluffy read! loved it!

I'm spoiled

This was definitely a rockstar story. It was one we expect from the boys in the band...depravity, sense of entitlement, sex. Sex, sex, sex. Probably 75% of this story was sex. For me it was overdone especially after I've read so very many rockstar stories of an excellent caliber! It isn't bad but it isn't great and at times seemed rather forced. I like a story and it's characters to be developed. This did not do that.

Three Nights with a Rock Star is a SIZZLING read that tipped over my heat level meter. There were many passionate and oh so kinky moments that had me all flustered. The great story line kept me interested and the pages turning fast and furious.

The characters were also done well, my favorite being the heroine, Hailey. I loved how this prim and proper young woman was able, with the help of Lock, the hero, to bring out her secret desires of having down and dirty, hard to the core sex. I also loved how the story went into detail of what a rock star’s life entails, the concerts, the parties, the groupies; it was sex, drugs and rock – and – roll and I REALLY LOVED IT!

This book didn't turn out as good as I was hoping. I loved the concept of the story but was disappointed with what I actually got. I would have loved for there to have been more of a romance between Hailey and Loch, they fell in love in 3 day which way too quickly for my liking. The majority of this book is sex, very hot sex, but sex nonetheless- the story needed more substance. There was one part of the story which I thought was unnecessary- Loch and Krist(band mate) having some sort of 'feelings' for each other, it was pointless and added nothing to the overall story, plus it was only mentioned for a short period of time.

I expected something more. Trying to make sense of the story but I was immediately put off by the main character (Hailey) who agreed for her body to be used for three nights, by Lock, the leader of the band Half-Life. She let him used her just so she can roam around the groupie headquarters to find out who knocked off her sister. And take note, both sisters were working in a Sunday school group or something. (Oh, and the sex scenes were over the top, I wasn't really feeling it).

DNF! I stopped at 62%. The book just didnt work for me. It wasn't believable and I felt like it jumped around too much. The synopsis made no mention of the m/m situation and that is not my thing.

There was not much development of the characters which left me feeling confused at some points.

Although I haven't come across to many books about musicians, I'm pretty sure Three Nights with a Rock Star is slightly above the average—good but not great. Despite the almost non-existent and predictable plot (but what can you do in a few days' time frame of the story, right?), I really enjoyed reading about the beginning of relationship between Lock and Hailey.

"Follow me, Hailey. Let me lead you down into the belly of the beast."
I'm no God. A Demon. Maybe

What do people drink when they have no idea what they are doing?
Beer is for BBQ, Tequila is for bad decisions and Whiskey is for all-purpose adjustment.

I get full artistic license to your body for three days

Hailey is on the hunt to find her sister Chloe's baby daddy.. has no idea who it is and is guessing she got knocked up selling merch for the band Half-Life... or did she??!!

Chloe " She was a forbidden apple, and he'd already had his bite--but she was the one would fall from grace"
Lock's banter is HILARIOUS ( as you can tell I just keep posting his quotes.

I am totally on board with the insta love and truly if you think about it.. It wasn't entirely insta.. however it would have played really well as a ménage with the MM MMF vibe given.. also Chloe is a bore ugh

Full Review to come. Three Hot Pages

This book starts us out with Hailey Miller. She and her sister Chloe, raised fatherless, and a mother that has done nothing but trash their names and abandon them when Hailey was just eighteen years old.

Hailey stepped up and took the best care she could of her young sister and herself. Working hard to mend their names reputation in the community, happily taking the job the church gave her as the pre school teacher and giving the best of herself to her job and the church.

So when her nineteen year old baby sister comes home and announces she is pregnant after being on tour as a merchandise seller for the band called Half-Life, Hailey wants the father to step up.

Chloe won't tell her who he is.

So Hailey takes her sisters barely there clothes, packs a small bag, and drives her beat up car straight to Chicago to find him herself.

Twenty dollars for parking. torn fishnet hose, and a very nauseous offer for a "joyride" on the elevator makes her reluctant.

She was doing this for her sister. Her only family. She needed to do it, or everything she'd worked toward in taking care of Chloe, in building a better life for them, would be for nothing. She had to, or history would repeat itself.

So when the reflective doors open again, she stepped into the elevator. Stepped through the looking glass, where everything was upside-down and inside out, and so was she.

What she found was disaster.

With the plan to crash the bands after party posed as a groupie, she arrives at seven pm to a trashed lobby full of half naked, passed out, or puking, band members, roadies, and real groupies.

But she dose find one awake, upright and tall person!

LOCK HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING!!!!

Sober for 372 days and no plans to screw that up, he goes into the stench of the lobby to find his lucky pick and finds something better.

"You're not a redhead." She wasn't. She wasn't a groupie either. Groupies did not wear cardigans to hotel parties. Smoky shadow rimmed her eyes, but she still somehow looked like a Sunday school teacher sitting right in the middle of hell.

Lock is instantly fascinated by the little church mouse.

He wants her.

And he gets what he wants.

He has a drawer full of contracts just waiting to seal the deal.

Hailey needs to poke around and find her sisters "baby daddy", an all access pass for three days while the band is in Chicago to do so.

Lock gets an all access pass to her body, to use her as his personal toy.

Hailey takes the deal.....

What was wrong with her the she wanted to be free to enjoy sex, to really explore it, for the first time in her tame little life. Maybe because he would be the one using her, and he seemed like he would know just what to do with her.

And so it began....

Lock takes control right from the minute that contract was signed.

Hailey complies.

She fell, through the window and down the rabbit hole. Lost to darkness except for his arms around her, one on her waist and the other teasing the dregs of orgasm from her clit.

She shuddered in relief.

But Lock finds quiet little Hailey surprises him over and over.

This was not the plan.

He wasn't in control anymore.

Spinning on a razor edge of bliss, rocking his hips, he trailed his hand down the side of her face. Caressed her hollowed check with his thumb as she worked over him.

Lock has his way with Hailey for two days of wild, heated, limitless, sometimes crude and pure selfish sex . Boundaries don't exist and feelings start to creep in.

Hailey pokes around enough to find out that Chloe's babies father may have been back home all along.

Lock wants his last day they both feel the change that has happened.

"Stay." he murmured against her back.

The weight of his body. The beat of his heart against her back. Stay.

Her voice was muffled against the bed. "My sister, She needs me."

"I need you."

Her heart clinched, surprised that he'd admit it.

This book was good. The story line and plot were good.

It has some EXTREMELY HOT SEX in it.

My biggest let down was the charters. Mainly Hailey. It was just irritating for me that she so willingly signed that contract. She doesn't once hesitate to do anything Lock wants her to do. At times I was just sad to see her get so crudely used and not once did she protest at all!!

Weak all submissive characters are a peeve of mine.

She is suppose to be the one that "always had her shit together. who always did the right thing." So it was slightly off tome that she didn't banter some with Lock.

I get that she secretly wanted to be a "bad girl" a "nasty sex kitten" (wink wink) but her character had no spunk at all. She gave and gave even when she was living her secret dream.

Then I have Lock who is just an ass hole from the go. Rude, crude, selfish, self centered. At times I thought he maybe cared for Hailey a little, but then he made another asshole move and he is back on my shit list!! Don't get me wrong I love the alpha male but I need one that knows how to treat a lady at lease some of the time before the very end. So the HEA ending just made me roll my eyes a bit.

So both were way too far over the top on their personalities that it just took a bit of the excitement for the book away from me. It would have been nice to see a little resistance from Hailey and feeling from Lock ( I may not hate him so much!) haha.

This book was just okay for me. I liked it. I just feel it could have been better.

An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was received free via Netgalley for an honest review.

I've been glomming rock star romance (singers, musicians, blues (not rock), pretty much if it's music-related, I've been at least curious. So, when I saw this available on Netgalley and Amber Lin's name was attached to it, I thought: "Why not?". I've had the pleasure of reading some of Lin's other books and I enjoyed them.

There were some good parts in here, and some not so good parts. The premise was shaky to start with. Good girl tries to uncover sister's baby daddy in a bid to help and protect her sister. The plan is ludicrously naive but I can let it slide since Hailey is the sweet, good girl who would have no clue what she is doing. Her motivations, especially at first, are completely open. Then Lock happens.

Lock is the lead singer and guitarist. He's a recovering alcoholic. He's in trouble with the band's management. He's the son of famous musicians/singers. He's got a lot of issues, and that's putting it mildly. When Lock gets a hold of Hailey, she does a 180 and becomes, literally with the swipe of a pen, a sex kitten/siren/sexual submissive/exhibitionist/multiple partner. I'm afraid that sudden change just doesn't ring true, not when she's been so well characterized as pure and virginal before.

Even if that works, she seems to lose all sense of well, everything except Lock, including the search for the baby daddy for the most part. It's like some alien being takes over her mind and body. Maybe that's the point, but if it is, it just didn't come across as all that believable.

Major Spoilers Below:

In the end, this is a romance, and it works out for Hailey and Lock, but not without a whole lot of heartache and all the wrong publicity.

Aside from the spoiler and the suspension of disbelief, the major problem I had with this story was the head hopping. There were passages in the book where I had no idea whose head I was in and had to guess based on the thought processes. I enjoy multiple points of view, but they have to be more clear. I shouldn't need to guess who is thinking/speaking.

I'd rate this at a 2.5, but rounded up to 3 in this case because I'm curious as to how the next book in the series will turn out and because for all it's flaws, the raw emotion in the book still tugs at me. Characterization, for the most part, was well-done and I didn't feel like I didn't know them at the end.

Three Nights with a Rock Star is hot, sweet and nudges right up to the edge of believability. I mean, a Sunday school teacher and a rock star? Who f*ck within an hour of meeting? Yeah, I wasn't convinced when I picked it up. However, Shari Slade and Amber Lin totally deliver on all the promises made by the inherent sexiness of rock stars.

Lock is the celebrity front man for the biggest rock band in the country. He's a recovering alcoholic who uses rough sex with temporary strangers as a replacement for the highs he left behind when he quit drinking whiskey. Hailey is a preschool teacher by day, Sunday school teacher by night (you know what I mean--she's super innocent) who dresses in pastels and spends her time reading and taking care of her now grown-up younger sister after her mom skipped out on them. She's never allowed herself to cut loose and is only vaguely aware that she'd like to.

When her sister gets pregnant by a member of the band's entourage (or so Hailey thinks), Hailey high-tails it to Chicago to unearth the culprit. Instead, she tumbles into the clutches of bad boy Lock via the means of a contract that keeps her at his beck and sexual call for three days so she can have a chance to interrogate his crew on behalf of her sister.

Over the course of the book, Hailey's tight laces come undone and in a way, so do Lock's. Lock gives Hailey permission to indulge in some pretty wild desires. Hailey gives Lock permission to be vulnerable and still feel safe. It's kind of a bad boy made good story except you get the sense that this relationship is never going to be totally tame.

There is also a charming sub-plot where Hailey's sister Chloe and the real father of her child manage to navigate some pretty difficult waters, complicated by the fact that they both work for their church. The combination of sex and religion here adds a level of interest I didn't expect and felt real, right down to the chocolate trifle potluck dessert.

Not that the book was perfect. There are a few continuity and editing errors of the sort that drive me a up a wall. For example, about midway through the book, Lock is clad only in jeans, and then he has a t-shirt on and then a page later, he's bare-chested again. And the Washington Monument a) doesn't have steps (that's the Lincoln Memorial) and b) is policed by the National Park Service, not the Secret Service. This is minor and probably wouldn't even bother anyone else, but it's the kind of thing that grabs me by the hair and drags me out of the story. Plus, making out in the vestibule of Hailey's deserted church rubbed me the wrong way and the tension between Lock and another bandmate left me hanging in a way I thought should have been resolved better before I could allow him his HEA. That said, I think that bandmate is the star of the next book so hopefully there will be some more resolution there as the series progresses.

All in all, I'm delighted with my first book by either of these authors. It's gritty and yet tender all the way through. Oh, and need I say it? The sex is steaming hot. It showcases some subtle D/s without the burdens of the formality that seems to have become almost indispensable post 50 Shades. And yet I never once worried if Hailey was getting in over her head. Plus I read it all in one sitting so I can't deny that I found the entire thing gripping.

A great read that left me very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

I am still a bit unsure how I feel about THREE NIGHTS WITH A ROCK STAR. Yes, I did enjoy reading it, but I also had some trouble to connect with the characters, and sometimes struggled with the many perspectives given in this book. This altogether made it a bit hard to follow the storyline which results in me needing additional time for reading and finishing it.

So this is the first book in a series about the rock band Half-Life and centers around Lock, front man of the band, and Hailey, whose sister was helping out at their merchandise shop a while ago. When Hailey finds out her baby sister Chloe is pregnant, with very likely someone of the band crew being the father, she decides to move heaven and earth to find out who he is and to coax him into taking responsibility for it. For Hailey, all innocent Sunday school teacher, that means to put up a mask and go into the lion’s den that is the rock star world. Soon she meets the lion himself: Front singer Lock, who is giving her backstage access to ask her questions… as long as he can do as he pleases with her body – for the following three nights…

Innocent girl meets bad-ass rock star! Gotta love that! It promises a lot of steamy scenes – and, oh, Lock surely knows how to burn the sheets – or to heat the elevator, for that matter!
But a good story should not revolve around bed actions only. I couldn’t feel a real connection between Lock and Hailey… Hailey had a much stronger one with her sister Chloe and so does Lock with Krist, another band member.

As for Hailey, she was willing to sacrifice it all for her little sister. Losing their parents at a very young age made Hailey grow up very early, to be there for her sister, always being the responsible one. With Lock she wants to experience her wilder side – and therefore she soon loses sight of the reason why she came to the band in the first place but instead obeys every of Lock’s commands instantly – even if that includes a little M/M/F action. …which brings me to the next issue: Krist. I didn’t feel like his and Lock’s problems have been solved. What is their background story? Do they just go on now as if nothing ever happened?
Oh, and what about that sex tape? Who let this video leak through?
These are some of the topics which really leave the reader hanging and remain completely unresolved.

Being told from four different perspectives was kind of refreshing, but it also led to some confusion about whose point of view it was when. I think Chloe’s and Tim’s story could have been easily transformed into its own novella, for those two to get the attention they deserve.

As a conclusion THREE NIGHTS WITH A ROCK STAR is a hot and steamy read packed with a lot of action which could have had a bit more background story, but definitely is enjoyable nonetheless!

3.5 Rock Stars!

Hailey has had to grow up quick. Being left to raise her self and her sister, she has always taken the responsible path and tried to keep her life simple, organized and as easy as it can be. When her sister comes home from running off to sell merc at a rock tour, she's pregnant. After the initial shock Hailey accepts this and realizes she is going to have one more person depending on her. Deciding that the father shouldn't get away free and clear she makes the most outrageous decision she has ever made. She's going to the rock show and finding and confronting the father, hopefully he will take the responsibility that is his.
Lock has lived his life in privilege, fast and hard! With rock royalty as his parents this is the world he has grown up knowing. After nearly destroying his band with his wild ways he has been forced to reform if he has any hope of keeping the band on good terms with record companies and publicists. Sober and responsible, Lock thinks things are the simplest he has ever known until a hot little things seeks him out with hell of a favor to ask. She wants access to his band and hang around's to discover who got her sister pregnant! Fine, but he will have something in return. All Lock wants is complete control over her body for three days and when he isn't using her she can investigate all she wants.
Hailey throws everything out the window and agrees. I mean why not? He's hot and she has always lived her life in a bubble. Three days to get the babies father to accept his responsibility and she gets to bed a hot man and live out her fantasies without anyone finding out. Perfect! Accept she didn't count on falling for him or having a picture of her on her knees in an elevator splashed all over the news. If they found out her name she would lose everything. Her job, her church, the community and her self respect. Maybe though the connection between them is enough to make things alright and when she runs, Lock chases her down to deliver the biggest ultimatum of her life. Leave everything to be with him or struggle to keep her together on her own?

I did enjoy this book but it's not one I would read again. It was a very quick and easy read that focuses on four leads. You have Hailey and Lock then her sister and the father of her baby. It's well written and the steamy scenes are exactly that! Lock is very alpha but I just couldn't connect with him and Hailey did seem like the biggest walk over. I just didn't like the characters much, sorry!! The story between Hailey's sister and the father was ok but again nothing very gripping. Enjoyed but didn't leave a lasting impression.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

3 to 3.5 stars!

What do you get with a church girl and a rock star????

What you get is a church girl gone naughty and playboy getting tamed.

Hailey goes to find the band Half -Life after her sister comes home pregnant. All Hailey and her sister have are each other and she wants to make sure that her sister Chloe is taken care of. So, jumps out of her boring cardigans and jumps into her sister's fishnets and tries to blend in to find the baby father.

She quickly realizes she may be out of her element but she meets one of the entourage who comes to her aid but with a price. Locke the front man of the band sees this fish out of water and is instantly intrigued so he agrees to help her find out the information she seeks if only she will give him three nights of whatever and whenever he pleases.

She may be a church girl on the outside but is a naughty girl in the inside so she jumps at this offer to free her inner self. As Locke and Hailey get down and dirty they both learn elements about themselves.

As Locke battles his personal demons he challenges himself and Hailey especially with a threesome with his bandmate/best friend Krist. But after that, it brought up more personal demons and emotions as that moment was broadcasted to the public causing all kinds of turmoil for the band, Hailey and them as a couple.
