M.P. McDonald makes a living from taking your breath away... then giving it back via a tube or two. She lives in a frozen land full of ice, snow, and abominable snowmen. On the days that she's not taking her car ice-skating, she sits huddled over a chilly computer, tapping out the story of a camera that can see the future. She hopes it can see summer approaching, too.
Excellent, excellent book. This is the first M.P. Mcdonald book I have read and I will certainly be reading more of her books. This book was very hard to put down, I read it in 2 sittings in under a day. I would've read it all in 1 sitting if it wasn't for the need for that pesky thing called sleep. It's a romantic suspense involving ATF agent Sam and paramedic, Molly. Molly is a single mom with a 6 year old daughter named Kelsie. We don't find out til later in the book the circumstances surrounding Molly becoming pregnant with Kelsie, or who Kelsie's dad is, but let me tell you this, it's a real doozy! Molly's little brother Johnny is mixed up with some bad biker dudes. Sam is shot during a drive by attempt on Johnny's life. Sam, who is currently on leave from the ATF following the deaths of his son Sean(who he had sole custody of) and his mother, refuses to go to a hospital as he's working a case off the books. So what does good 'ol Johnny do? He drags injured Sam to Molly's house in the middle of the night to patch Sam up and then leaves! Of course we all knows what happens then...Sam & Molly have a instant attraction unlike any either one of them has ever had for anyone else. There is suspense with the bad biker dudes after Johnny, who Johnny unwittingly exposes Molly and Kelsie to that danger. Sam then whisks them away to his hideaway cabin in the woods. Our heroine, Molly is a strong, sympathetic character that is very likeable. Sam, our hero, is a rogue ATF agent that is tortured by the deaths of his mother & son Sean and seeks vengeance from the man responsible for those deaths. He is a very likeable character despite it being plain from the very beginning of the book that he plans to kill(in a slow, painful way) the man responsible for giving the order that resulted in the deaths of his family. Witless Johnny is also very likeable, it is also easy to be angry at him for his selfishness & single mindedness, but trust me, Johnny does finally redeem himself. The sex factor of the book was good. It wasn't overly done, but wasn't exotic to the max either. It just went along well with the story. The mystery and suspense of the book was good, I had things figured out way before we got there, but enjoyed the ride regardless. The action and suspense was good but wasn't hanging on the edge of your seat kind of suspense. It just flowed well with the book. All in all I highly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. I can't think of any swear words used off the top of my head, but there may have been a few, but not enough to be memorable if that sort of thing bothers a reader. Again, I will be reading more of MP McDonald's books and look forward to it.
This was a fast paced, page turning suspense novel with a sweet romance. The story never lags and the characters were well developed with a believable creative plot. Well done!
Sam's an undercover ATF officer who lost his son and mother when a member of a MC club he was pretending to be a part of sent him a message. He's lived with the need for vengeance.
Sam ends up being shot and is taken by Johnny (the guy he saved) to his sister's house. Molly is in school to become a paramedic and helps him. While recovering Sam begins to develop feelings for Molly and her daughter. He misses his son and still mourns him terribly. Johnny brings trouble to Molly's and Sam is determined to protect them the way he didn't protect his son. Turns out its the same person Sam's after causing all the problems.
I liked Sam's character. I felt his loss and it broke my heart. I liked Molly well enough. I'm not a fan of dishonestly though. Overall book was good, no cliffhanger and happy ending.
Whew. Where to start. Fast paced. Intense. Emotional. Sweet. Gritty. Sam carries the ultimate grudge and he's out for blood. Meeting Molly and her daughter complicates things, but ultimately Sam is determined to seek justice for...what he's lost. Sam gets his moment and when he's standing there with a gun pressed against the temple of the man who took his most precious possession, I was thinking-do it, do it...but then, everything he'd found with Molly would be lost. I'm not going to spoil the end, but I wanted to cry, scream and smile all at the same time. Love and hate are both such powerful emotions. Ms. McDonald does a phenomenal job of helping us relate to both Sam and Molly, and the reasons made the choices they did. Definitely worth reading.
This book starts right off with action and no real confusion as to what’s happening like some other authors tend to do. I like the way McDonald writes. She incorporates just the right amount of action with romance to make this an outstanding story. I highly recommend this book for your reading pleasure. 5
Pretty good romantic suspense with a little more emphasis on the romantic than the suspense. I liked both of the main characters and I understood their motivations.
Of all of M.P McDonald's books, this is my least favorite. Oh don't get me wrong, it was a good read. I enjoyed it.....Seeking Vengeance is a love story. Quick. Fun read.
This is one of those books you start off not sure about but then the story pulls you in and keeps you in until the last page when your left with the feeling of wanting it to go on. This book has great characters all of which play their role perfectly. You have Sam, ATF agent who lost everything and wants revenge. The women he falls in love with Molly, and her daughter Kelsie, who is just a cutie. Then you have Johnny, you start off disliking him because he does some stupid things but he shows up and acts like a man when he needs to. All in All good book. full review here: http://allnightbooks.com/
I liked the premise - ATF agent seeking revenge for the death of his son at the hands of a motorcycle gang leader. I liked the beginning, it was full of action and the developing attraction between H/h was well done. In my opinion, the middle sagged as the H/h went into hiding at his cottage at the lake. No one discovered them, no more threats, and the story just lost it for me. The characters were well done, her young daughter was not annoying. I usually hate "cute" kids in a romance, but her daughter was age appropriate and not a pain in the neck. I wanted to like this book, but its appeal faded in the middle, and the end wasn't strong enough to pull me in again.
ATF agent who lost his world to the machinations of a ruthless MC. A single mom who is also a paramedic with tenuous connections and dark memories of the same MC. Fate steps in and brings these two wounded souls together. Action filled story with a touching romance and sweet little girl at the center of it all.
If you like a little danger with your romance, and a story of sweet redemption amid a steamy romance then this the story for you.
I very much enjoyed this book and the style of writing. Kept me interested all the way throughout the book. A little suspenseful with a lot of heartfelt sympathy for the main male character. I would definitely read more from this author and will look for more of her titles.
This book had a good hook and it mostly worked as a romantic-suspense novel. But I realized this afternoon that I'd stopped reading after breakfast at 97% right when our hero and heroine are proclaiming their undying love for one another. Definitely not a point in the book's favor that I didn't even realize I was dangling until I picked the book back up....
Good suspense. This is the first time I've read this author and discovered this was an enjoyable book. Filled with emotion from Sam and Molly, it was fast paced and pretty exciting. There were a few intense scenes and a couple of parts were pretty predictable but the author was able to keep me interested and wanting more. I hope there are subsequent books with Sam, Molly and little Kelsie.
Packed full of action and intrigue. The characters were all very likeable and acted appropriately. No OTT push and pull or catch and release. Both have a complicated past, but they don't let it ruin them. Definitely a must read.
I really enjoyed the story line and I loved the characters in the book. the writer was good. I hope to read more by this author. I recommend the book. nice love story.
