Hi! I'm Joanne, or at least professionally I am. In my day-to-day life, everyone calls me Jo, unless, of course, I am in trouble! I have loved to write for as long as I can remember and spent many hours as a child writing short stories and even songs.

I live in the south of England with my four cats and more books than I can possibly count. Aside from writing, I love to read, sing, dance and spend time with my loved ones, especially my eight nieces and nephews.

As I got older and life got in the way, writing was put on the back burner until I suffered some health issues and found myself looking for hobbies that didn't require too much physical activity, and that is when I rediscovered my love for the written word and telling stories.

Shortly before lockdown, I began to write my first 'real' book series with the hope to publish and so The Cull, Book one, was born. Books two and three, The Escape and The Assault are now available with book four coming soon!

Don't just no... I skimmed the last 15 chapters and was still disappointed with the end. I really wanted to like this book but the writing is long and repetitive. how many times do we need to know their rooms are empty with only a dirty mattress... AND the RTL have homemade incendiary devices and grenades so why why did they not set up something at the prison camp barracks!!!! And did the army who was housing them not have rocket launchers???
Too many holes in the plot, repetitive writing and self-centered characters.
I will not be reading any more in this series which is a shame as I liked the initial premise of the book series.

Steph is one of the most infuriating characters I’ve ever read. She drives me mad. There are times when I just want her to stfu and listen to what her friends are trying to tell her.

But I like it, normally you love the main characters in a book, but there’s a small part of me that wants her to get capture. Looking forward to book four.

2-3 stars. 🌟 love the idea and the action in the book. I am used to reading fast-paced page turners. I don’t really think this is ‘addictive’ in that kind of sense - it feels like watching a long series on tv. many grammatical errors on the kindle.

I love this series so much! Great continuation of an exciting story that makes me hold my breath time and time again.
I fell in love with Tom and Steph, they have grown so much over these 3 books.
Can't wait to find out how the story continues!
