About Me I believes the only thing sexier than a man in cowboy boots is two, or three men in cowboy boots. I also believes in love at first sight, soul mates, true love, and happy endings.
I live in the great Northwest region of the USA, with my gorgeous husband and soul mate, two boxer/collie puppies, one old biddy cats, and three fish. When I'm not being a mother to my six teenagers or cleaning up after my two 70 pound lap puppies, you can usually find me cuddled in bed with a book in my hand and a puppy in my lap. Or on my laptop, creating the next sexy man for one of my stories.

What do I do ? I'm a writer of erotic, paranormal, werewolf, futuristic, contemporary, gay, and Ménage a Trois romances. I'm currently published with Siren Publishing, Torquere Press, and Noble Ellora's Cave.
Stormy Glenn is one of those authors that is a guilty pleasure for me. When I am in the mood for something without a lot of angst or I just want to read a story that is quick and easy, I know Stormy will deliver what I’m looking for.
Sammy Dane is a loveable and total nerd. He is a successful gay-erotic romance writer who often gets so wrapped up in his writings that he forgets the little things in life like: pay the electric bill, lock the front door or eat. His brother is always trying to set sweet Sammy up, but it often ends up with disastrous results.
When Sammy’s brother convinces the reluctant Sammy to come over for a barbeque in a week, Sammy decides to go blow off some steam at a local bar. When he gets there he orders is special non-alcoholic drink and chants with the friendly bartender. He is surprised when a tall, muscular handsome man approaches him and starts to flirt with him. Soon he and “James” have a quick and sexy rapport and James has agreed to come to Sammy’s apartment for a little slap and tickle.
James Everson is a tough, dominating police officer who isn’t looking for Mr. Right, just Mr. Right Now. Bullied by his brother and his partner to come to a barbeque next week, that James knows is just another one of those horrible set ups, James decides to blow off some steam and check out a local bar to see if he can get any action for the night.
James is very particular about the men he dates. He likes them tall and muscular like himself, so when he sees a young man dressed primarily in the color Khaki, with glasses and unruly hair, he is shocked because of his immediate attraction to him. As he listens to the provocative conversation the man is having with the bartender, James decides to make his move and soon he finds himself in “Dane’s” apartment.
After a surprising night of intense sex, and “Dane” being very dominant in the bedroom, James is hooked and wants to see the young man again. Only to wake up and there is a short but sweet goodbye note on the door and to James disappointment it was obvious that Dane didn’t want to see him again.
After some reflection, James becomes determined to have Dane in his life. With some investigating he finds out some things about Sammy and decides to pursue him.
I really liked this book. It has Stormy’s classic “Fall in love at first sight” storyline and there are a lot of sex scenes in this story. I liked Sammy Dane. He was a refreshing character. He’s not a perfect looking hero, especially at first, and is sweetly flawed. I liked that James was totally captivated with Sammy and fought to have the sweet man in his life. I would have given up a sex scene or two to have more verbal interaction and their relationship develop a little more than it did. I would’ve liked to see the love develop between them, instead of it being an automatic thing.
This wasn’t enough for me not to enjoy the book, because I really did. Sammy and James were good together and I really enjoyed reading their story.
This seems just like a kinkier version of a Carol Lynne novel.
It was cute but both heroes seem to mistake lust for love early on. While I think the book takes them on enough of the journey to make it viable that they really love each other in the end, it was so rushed that I had a hard time buying into it.
There were a few other hard to believe moments in the book as well. Once they all add up it tips the scales unfavorably despite the pretty hot sex scenes.
This is the story of James and Sammy, the respective brothers of Troy and Nicky from the first book. They meet and hook up without knowing who the other is. All in all a fun, not to be taken seriously story!
As far as the condom issue is concerned, I wonder anyway whether adding them at all was part of a small rewrite for this edition. Since in the next sex scene they suddenly go bare.
Either way and disregarding all the above (and the predictable, ridiculously clichéd stalker side plot) I am enjoying this. Both protagonists are endearing as hell in the way they react to each other – and that’s usually my main concern. So yeah, silliness aside this is super sweet and amusing.
2010 Review:
This book was, on the whole, better than the first one. Still kinda silly and there were some things I found hard to believe. Like, really hard to believe.
On the other hand the twist in the sexual relationship was fresh and fun. So if this had ended after a little less than half, when , it’d have been a nice enough novella or short story. But of course it had to drag on with .
Cute and sexy story with nice secondary characters and a quick, little bit shallow story arc about a stalker. This stalker element is not annoying but not really adding some serious tension either. I was a bit confused that we got the HEA already around page 70 (of 134). Shortly after that the story became a bit silly imo, but it picked up most of its former pace soon enough. This was my first Stormy Glenn book and it was not bad at all, despite some unusual twists and turns and a overly plotted nature. The characters were very nice, perhaps a bit stereotypical (cop and geek who reverse roles in the bedroom), but it worked and made for some hot scenes. Towards the end the love scenes became a bit more vanilla though but were still sexy. All in all this was an enjoyable read that kept me entertained and had enough depth to make me believe the love between these two guys, which came a bit fast at first.
A little short for the length of stories I like to read but this one was pretty kewl. It's like a story within a story. Hard to explain, but you'd know if you read the book. This story brings hope that no matter your appearance whether homely, average or strange and no matter your demeanor or what some might call as simple strange that for everyone out there's there THE One for you. Truly gives love hope where hope can fail you.
The most original thing of this novel is to take the stereotype characters and turn them over for a bit.
Police Officer James Everson is a man-hater, always changing men like he changes his underwear, not thinking twice to them after the “use”. Nevertheless he has a vague idea of Mr. Right, the man who in the end will conquer his heart and he is open to meet him. After all he has the example of his little brother Nicky who is happily in love with Troy, another police officer. There is probably a nice story behind it, how Nicky and Troy met and fell in love, I have the strong impression that this story exist but I didn’t find any track of it in Stormy Glenn’s backlist… Anyway James is not against the idea to fall in love himself; he has a good example around so he is predisposed.
Troy’s brother, Sammy, on the other hand, hasn’t had nice experiences in the past, actually he had very few and all of them were bad. Sammy is a geeky guy, a bookworm, who prefers to loose himself in his books while letting the world flows outside his front door. He also has no idea how the world could be dangerous, he is quite with the head on the clouds, something that can create big trouble in his life.
Being James and Sammy both gays, obviously Nicky and Troy would like to match them together but before they can realize their plan, James and Sammy meet in a bar. James has just finished to mentally listing all the external signs that he doesn’t like in a man, when Sammy enters the bar and he has exactly all of them. But something in Sammy, who presents himself as Dane, the penname he uses to write gay erotic romance, attracts James, something that goes beyond the physical attraction. Physical attraction that doesn’t lack, au contraire, when Sammy Dane is alone with James in a bedroom, suddenly he behaves like a tiger, ordering James around, playing a bit the Dominant, arriving also to top James in bed, something James hasn’t yet allowed. I think Sammy Dane feels confident in the confines of a bedroom since he can play all the scenes he writes in his books. And then, Sammy Dane naked is very well endowed, something that he can’t “wear” outside.
This side of Sammy Dane makes him unforgettable to James, and also the fact that the morning after Sammy Dane brushes him off like a less important one night stand. This is the behaviour that usually James has with his lovers, not the way round. I think Sammy Dane shows his insecurity in that way, he feared James’ rejection, and so he went away before it. But to James’ eyes it’s like a challenge, like an invite to pursue him. Outside the bedroom James is the hunter, but inside the bedroom he is the prey.
This is a nice novel, not much complicated and even the “dangerous” sub-plot is not so dangerous to distract the readers from the love story. There are also some aspects that I didn’t understand so much, or maybe the authors decided not to develop them: for example, how likely is that two gay brothers meet two other gay brothers? If this was a fantasy tale, I would have taken it like a fact, but this is a contemporary romance, and there is also an hint to a possible prejudice issue, like when James is in the hospital and Sammy Dane wants to visit him. Probably the author decided not to linger on this side of the story, to weight more on the romance side; after all this is a love story not a social essay, and I don’t think the author meant to give out a message if not the strength of true love.
In the second book of the ‘Sammy and Friends’ series I was happy to see that the focus is on Sammy and his story. While he was around in book one, he really is the star of the show here. And, just like his brother Troy who finds the love of his life in volume one, in this second installment, Sammy gets his happy ever after. Not that he believes he will ever get one, nor is it an easy ride with all the self-imposed and external obstacles he and James have to overcome. But when two men are “destined to be together”, like they are in this series, there is nothing that will stand in the way of their dream.
Sammy is a typical nerd. He is an author and lives a withdrawn life, forgets to take care of himself to the point where he forgets to pay bills and his electricity is cut, and he sees himself as a total mouse. At one point he thinks: “Maybe writing erotic gay novels for a living wasn’t such a good idea. Maybe he should go back to writing mysteries or something safer, like serial killer biographies.” This quote from Sammy Dane summarizes the man’s life and his admittedly unique logic when looking at things. It may appear logical to him, and usually makes sense at the time, but anyone looking at it from the outside will need a few seconds (or longer) to adjust. Needless to say, he has a hard time accepting that anyone will want him as a partner, so when James appears in his life, Sammy is certain it’s only going to be a one-night stand.
James likes to play, is afraid of commitment, and has nothing but one-night stands. Until he runs into Sammy and he discovers nerdy bookworms may be sexy. One night together confirms James’s newest addiction: Sammy is it for him from now on. He moves heaven and earth to convince Sammy of that fact, but it isn’t easy. One thing is certain, and that is Sammy needs a keeper and James knows he is the man for the job. What develops between them is a lot more though, and quickly grows from some seriously hot encounters into a seriously committed relationship.
If you like stories about “absentminded professors” who are lost everywhere except in the bedroom, if you like reading about “destined” couples, and if you’re looking for a read that is super hot and has a few interesting twists, then you will probably like this novella.

James "Jamie" Everson never has a shortage of men at his disposal. However, after witnessing his brother, Nicky, find the love of his life and the stability that comes with a committed relationship, he longs for that same kind of companionship. Samuel "Sammy" Summers is a geeky romance author who often forgets to pay his bills, eat and take care of normal, every day presponsibilities. He also longs for a real relationship, but thinks no one would want to be with a mousy bookworm like him.
When James and Samuel (aka Dane) meet each other at a bar, they are instantly attracted to one another. They eventually fall into bed and James is thrilled by the dominant Dane, who makes him feel and do things he's never experienced before.
I enjoyed this sequel to Picture Me Perfect. The relationship between Jamie and Sammy Dane was sweet and I loved how they made each other feel. The subplot of Sammy's stalker was interesting and didn't seem forced or unrealistic. It was also wonderful to see Nicky and Troy once again. :) There is some very mild BDSM, but not enough to scare away those who are not in to that subject matter.
There were some issues with this book. Typos littered the pages and often entire words were omitted, making it hard to understand the text. I would have to go back and read sentences two or three times just to make sense of it all. Sammy's 'dirty talk' became repetitive and oftentimes corny, almost to the point where I rolled my eyes. Lastly, the overuse of the characters addressing each other by name got on my nerves. If two people are having a one-on-one conversation, is it necessary to end each sentence with 'Sammy Dane' or 'Jamie'. I felt like I was on the verge of screaming by the end of the book because this phenomenon seemed to get worse as the book progressed.
Sammy Dane by author Stormy Glenn is one of my all time favorite stories. I am so glad this book got a new publisher and words added to it. Sammy is a really interesting character. He is both shy and dominates at the same time. I always found those conflicting parts of his personality fascinating. He really surprises even himself in situations. James I just love him. He is used to being the one to rescue people after all this is his job. But with Sammy, he gets rescued in a good way. When Sammy needs James to be the one to rescue him James is more than ready. You meet some old friends in this book so it must be read in order. However both books in this series have heart and soul that only Stormy Glenn can bring to a book. I truly hope this series continues I would love to see more. The men Ms. Glenn creates have a vulnerability and strength that always make me want more. Five Shooting Stars
3 stars. It was an okay read. Wasn't much of a story or anything. I didn't even get the chemistry between the MC's. Some how I felt like there was a fast foward button that I didn't push, because things moved so fast that I had to back up and re-read some to figure out the what is what with the relationship.
Anywho, a decent read if you are looking for short fast fast lovin', and a so called obsessed stalker that you literally forget is or was suppose to be part of the story until its closer to the end.
Go for it. It's a pass the time kinda read especially if you need a pick me up after a hard day.
This was a hot book with some amazing characters. Sammy Dane was so funny how he could turn his insecurity off when he got into the bedroom. I also liked that James was willing to let Sammy take charge. It kinda added an element to the story that you wouldn’t have expected from a tough cop.
I know that I read the series out of order and didn’t think it would matter. It really doesn’t except in the fact that the first book is about Sammy’s brother meeting James’ brother. It would have been nice to read their story first, but it really didn’t effect this one. I am just happy to know that there are two other books to the series. I so have to read them.
Why? Why do I fall for the Stormy Glenn blurb? I have read only 2 books of hers I enjoy and the others I can't get past the sample most times I even attempt one. They keep coming up on my list! They have lots of good reviews! The blurbs sound worth it! I was sucked in again and gave this a chance and was a huge miss again. What I don't understand is as prolific a writer as this and the stories still are all out of sync and just contradict them self page after page. Doesn't she have an editor? Or proof reader? Or just someone that tell her the things just don't make sense? Anyway, never again and I mean it this time.
I wouldn't go so far as to say this was a bad novel, it just really wasn't my type of story. The characters were overly emotional [for guys], and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't imagine Sammy Dane as the dominant. The idea is interesting, but for what was portrayed it just didn't click with me. And the name James comes up with - Sammy Dane, a cross between his regular name Sammy and the writer Dane - sounds a bit ridiculous to me. -_-;;
Reviewed by Kerri: When reviewing a novel/novella, I try to look for things that I liked about the story... characters, the writing, anything.
The author does have skills when it comes to putting together a story, but I found the coincidence within these pages to be a bit over-the-top. I like a little meat to a story and it just wasn't there for me. I found myself skimming pages to get to the next good bit and that isn't a good thing.
typical stormy glenn romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical stormy glenn? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
laziness dictates i will use this as my template for all books by the following authors unless a book is remarkably good/bad : stormy glenn lynn hagen scarlet hyacinth joyee flynn carol lynne gabrielle evans
M/m romance about a writer and a cop who hook up at a bar and then it turns out that their brothers (who are a couple) were planning to hook them up. Toss in a stalker just to make things a bit more complicated. This actually had a lot of potential and some serious editing might’ve helped pull it together.
Rating: 2 stars I didn’t like this book. If I wasn’t reading it as part of a reading challenge, I would have DNF’d it about half way in. As it was, I skimmed all the sex scenes because they were just cringy. Then we had the Big Misunderstanding that was just stupid. Overall, the whole book was pretty bad.
I just loved this story it was too sweet and I loved Sammy and Jamie. Honestly I love Stormy Glenn's books so it's really hard for me to find something bad about them...Her books are always an autobuy for me...
As much as I liked the first book in the series (at least first 2/3 of it) I didn't like this one. For me it was like a long continuation of the last third of the first book that I didn't like, with additional hint of D/s thrown in, which I don't appreciate.
A fun series, and I recommend reading all 3 that are currently out (not sure if any more are planned either - this might be it). Interesting characters that are all intertwined so the 3 books really flow together.
A great 2nd story in the series - and I highly recommend reading the first one "Picture Me Perfect." This is probably my favorite one too. Such sexy MC's (it's even hotter when you don't expect it!).
