Welcome to Hell, Little Witch

The Witch
The Order has found me, despite my best efforts. Regret gnaws at my insides as I suffer my father’s presence once more. I either destroy everything I touch, or people end up dead…sometimes both.
The irony? My key to escaping lies in embracing the powers of my coven, the same magic they want to use to destroy Lorcan.

If I’m going to get out of this, I have to trust him, so why does the thought feel as though I’ve swallowed razor blades? My feelings for him swirl inside my mind—my heart and my brain constantly battling for dominance.

But I need him, crave him even, and I’m mad at him for it. He was always the mirror reflecting the worst parts back to me through rose-tinted glass. Separately, we are monsters, but together, we are so much more than that.

The Demon
Demons cannot love, and vulnerability is not a word I entertain, but being around my little witch evokes something dark inside of me, a feeling that no matter what I do, I cannot squash. She’s everything I’ve wanted, and I cannot get her out of my mind.

Another century in the Shadow Realm without Evie is not a reality I will entertain. Except, when I see her again, she’s different, broken, and more dangerous than ever.

When an old adversary resurfaces, I’m faced with an impossible choice—go to Hell to keep her safe knowing I can’t leave after or stay with Evie, knowing my feelings could mean her downfall.

As the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished.

Broken Shadows is the last book in the Corrupt Shadows Duet and explores dark topics that some many find triggering.

Once again, infinite stars to Gomez, the most important character in this series who has never done anything wrong ever.

Lorcan gets honorable mention for learning how to communicate his feelings like an adult despite being a man.

I ATE this up. The spice was spicing, the rage was raging, and the vibes were vibing. I could read books about Lorcan and Evie forever.

I’ve been looking forward to this release for ages, but it was awfully disappointing.

Broken Shadows read like a sloppy first draft, hastily finished and rushed straight to print without passing through the hands of an editor.

there were so many typos, repeated sentences and paragraphs, numerous narrative inconsistencies, major pacing issues, irritating dialogue, and the weirdest way of spelling out sex grunts I’ve ever read.

they teed up a few spinoffs in the last few pages of this book. if those come to be, I hope they are written more thoughtfully than this was.

I devoured this book, my love for Lorcan and Evie has just grown. Ezra has been added to my list of fav characters as well. The story was interesting and i loved the turns this book had taken. It felt like a great ending for these characters, especially for Evie.

I wish we had spent more time exploring hell and Lucifers palace as well as more interactions with Lucifer. I hope there is more books set in this world for Lorcan's brothers, Im so curious about Eva and Ezra's relationship and where they end up in the future. I highly recomend reading this book as it continues to suck you in just like the first book.

If you like very sexually explicit stories with demons, witches, trials of Hell, banter and kinky fuckery - look no further!

Broken Shadows picks up where Corrupt Shadows left. Situation is not looking good for our characters, but they eventually manage to maneuver dangerous path that awaits them. I enjoyed reunions and interactions between brothers, as well as bond between girls and main couple - Evie and Lorcan. Gomez was back! And some of Aidenism's made situations humorous. Even though it was too cheesy for me. Sorry.

I would say this tilts more towards erotica genre, not just dark romance/romance aspect. Plot is still there, but story is heavy on spice and chemistry between characters. That's not bad ofc, because some readers prefer this way rather than nice balance between plot and romance. From previous works I know that authors can definitely write some crazy spice scenes that are delicious, long and detailed (honestly, slay! tingles! gasps!), but I wish that the world-building would get the same treatment. But maybe it's because it's duology? Something about the writing confused me. I don't know how to explain.. Even though I understand that there needs to be certain situations that the characters needs to face, some of them here, imo, could have been taken out. Either the situation was just thrown at us a filler, or it was not necessary at all. Also, I predicted the ending way early, so it felt somehow unsatisfactory for me. And too quick. It did conclude on a happy note, so there's that :)

TW/CW list as long as shopping list, so please check it out!! I mean, if you read first book you should know what to expect.

Spice: 5
Story: 3
Characters: 3,75
Plot: 3

Mucha tensión. Acción. Tortura. Sangre. Magia oscura. Personajes nuevos top. Risas con algunos. Giro dramático de los acontecimientos. Mucho🌶️. Sufrimiento. Viejabrujaasquerosa. Final redondo.

Bilogía dark-gótica con demonio-bruja muy chula.
He dicho ya mucho 🌶️?

⚠️ojito los TW. Aunque es consentido todo jueguito, es muy crudo y puede no gustar a según quién.

I pushed through the first book, barely. Hoping that the second book would have better writing and less plot holes. I was wrong again. DNF’d it halfway through. The first part of the book was better, I felt like I knew what was actually happening…. And then they “went to hell” and I’m back to being confused again. I don’t even know what the plot is at this point. Not going to try to pick this one back up like I did with the first book.

I have been patiently waiting for this story ever since I had the pleasure of reading Corrupt Shadows. The book hangover I was left to endure after finishing the first book in this duet will stay with me for a very.long.time. When I got word that this story was finally here, I could not contain my excitment. To be blessed again to read for Rebecca, I knew I was in for a ride. First off, I know many reviews mention our fuzzy friend Gomez. Mine is going to be no different in that matter. Gomez really was a star of the show.

Now, on to what really matters. With this book, Evie and Lorcan’s story essentially comes to an end. It was definitely worth the wait in my opinion. Broken Shadows opened with all the emotions Corrupt Shadows left us with. Evie finally gives into her dark magic and it magical indeed. Watching Evie get her revenge was truly heartwarming all around. Watching Lorcan’s growth in acknowledging his emotions and learning to communicate really did something to my feelings. Something about a big masculine man showing some vulnerability wormed its way deep into my psyche. It was quite refreshing. Maybe that speaks to my reality, but hey. I really enjoyed meeting Lorcans brothers and seeing the connections they have to the deadly sins. Ezra and Gideon turning out to be a couple of good guys and seeing the budding relations with Rosa and Aiden was quite enjoyable. I loved what was done with Lucifer. It was a different take from the biblical story most people have learned at some point. Two words…….Cinnamon Rolls. LOL

I was content on how this story ended, it left me feeling satisfied without any hangover questions. The story line while complete, I feel is left with enough openness for some interconnected stand alones with some of the other characters. *wink wink*

Lastly, the spice. Because we all know thats what we’re really looking for. LOL The spice is hella nice, leaving you needing a cold shower after some scenes. I would say the scene at about 29%, Primal and Somno scenes were most memorable and notable. We get to experience Lorcan in his full transition and I must say…….Good Lordt. I forget how much I love me a solid Shadow Daddy. This story did not disappoint.

I would like to note that there were some areas of the book that had extra words that were not needed and one point I had to reread because it seemed to jump a little. Over all it did not really affect the review of the book, but enough to make note.

“𝓨𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓪𝓵 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓽 𝓽𝓪𝓾𝓷𝓽𝓼 𝓶𝓮 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂 𝓫𝓮𝓪𝓽.”

This is a dark, paranormal romance. The content, both on and off page, will NOT be suitable for everyone. It covers heavy topics that may be triggering to some. You MUST proceed with caution; your mental health matters.

Well… hello again Daddy Lorcan 🤤

I was desperate to get my hands on this after finishing book 1 and the cliffhanger it left me dangling from. When it landed, I was beyond excited to dive back into the shadows alongside Lorcan and Evie!

This picks up right where we left off in Corrupt Shadows and weaves a tale bursting to the brim of deception, playful shadows, age old revenge and the fluffiest floof of a familiar we absolutely adore. This book also brings found family vibes which I was totally digging during the course of the read! Let’s not forget the spicy spice that left me sweating in places I shouldn’t be! A particular scene had me physically drooling 🤤 😮‍💨

It was amazing to be back in the fold with my favourite morally grey characters but to also meet others more intimately that we didn’t fully understand, or get to see in book 1. This is where the found family vibes came in and I absolutely loved it. I was fully there for these budding relationships and it warmed my dark soul. This book was more about character growth for me and I adored it.

This read had characters I loved, I’m talking about you Gomez 😍, the storyline was thrilling, obvs the spice was 100% spicing and the twists kept me hanging off the edge of my seat! The sexual tension between the characters was palpable and I was living for it.

I particularly enjoyed how Evie fully embraced her bada$$ self and become the ultimate shadow mummy. Her growth and acceptance were heartwarming. It also levelled up her relationship with Lorcan and made him realise a couple of home truths which I think he needed.

The concept of the story itself was amazing, but for me personally, I felt it didn’t follow the same path as book 1. It was a bit jumpy at certain points and too fast paced. I questioned whether I’d missed something a few times and had to back track. That being said, it was a great read overall and I enjoyed it.

This is book two of the Corrupt Shadows duet and believe me when I say book one ended in a brutal cliffhanger! I've been waiting on that cliff for a long time, but it was definitely worth the wait!

It picks up right where book one left off so you're immediately back in the middle of the action.

I can't say too much without giving spoilers but let's just say reunions happen and that causes a lot of funny banter and adorable bonding!

The found family aspect was also funny and very adorable and I'm happy we got way more Gomey aka Gomez aka Night Puppy aka Fluffy Fucker as Lorcan so endearingly calls him. Eventhough our shadow daddy doesn't want to admit it, he definitely cares for him and they have a beautiful brenemie relationship as Ezra nicely puts it and I'm totally here for it! 😂

After certain reunions our shadow mommy and daddy go to hell to speak to Lorcan's father, Lucifer, who has been isolated from his sons by Evie's great aunt Evangeline. Hell wouldn't be hell if it weren’t creepy with hardships and trials.

I love trials and these had me on the edge of my seat. It brought out a softer side of Lorcan but also his darkest demon side. The spice was delicious and was blazing during the trial of desire! I'm just gonna say demon spice and tail play 👀.

I also loved the unique take on Lucifer and how he is with his sons! And that ending was just perfect!

This is a great continuation of the story of Evie and Lorcan. It picks up immediately where the cliffhanger ended from book 1. I enjoyed the direction of the plot and it was fun visiting Hell and experiencing some of the punishments or "trials" souls go through in hell. It's a faster pace than the first book I felt like, and it didn't linger in any one spot too long. Because the plot moved quickly, it felt a little jumpy in spots, like how did we end up here suddenly? Or the time jumps without readily stated time jumps took place. Little things that threw me off some, but not enough to detract from my enjoyment of the story overall.

Gomez was the sweetest. Lorcan learned how to use his words. Evie got her revenge. We gained found family vibes with Ezra and Lorcan making amends, along with adding Rosa, Gideon, and Aiden to the mix. The chemistry is off the charts between Evie and Lorcan and I love that they match each other's freak energy. The scene where Evie leaves her "mark" on Lorcan? 🤌🤌🤌😈🥵 so good.

This is a satisfying ending to the duet.

Is it too soon to beg for a book of Aiden and Gideon and as well as one for Ezra and Rosa and one for Lucifer?

Also did we ever learn Lorcan’s true name and I missed it? Unless it was Lust and I didn’t miss it?

I forgot to add Ezra was easily my fav in this story and the only reason why I gave this 4 stars is because I felt the first book was better. But I still enjoyed this ALOT

Thank you for the arc ❤️❤️

This duet was something else, I'd never really read anything dark until I read Corrupt Shadows and I was iffy on that one but I still wanted to know how it would all play out.

It played out nicely because I enjoyed this one! Evie and Lorcan were clearly meant for one another, I love the way he was with her in this one. Obviously Gomez is my favorite though and will always be number 1!

Also, spice is always a good bonus. 😉
This duet deserves the reads.

I’m very stuck between 2.5 and 3 stars because I absolutely loved the first book but this one was rushed, following the story was difficult (maybe my fault for not rereading the first book) and the book is in dire need of an editor.

I do love the characters a lot and I’m probably going to give it another chance in the future!

And please give Ezra and Rosa their own book 👀👀

First of all I’ve been for this book for almost 18 months! Since the day I finished book 1, had I known I’d have to wait so long and that book 1 of ended in such a cliffhanger, would I have read it? Yes, yes I probably would have!
The nice thing was even though there was such a huge time gap I had no problem picking up where I had left off. There is enough back story to bring back book 1 to the forefront.
If you like demons, witches, magic, love and smut you’ll like book 1 & book 2.
Lor is a son of Lucifer and his brothers lock him away in another realm for centuries. In book 1 you get to know him a little, he’s definitely the grumpy to his witch’s sunshine.
I don’t want to give anything away but I would definitely recommend reading both books in order.

Taking place right where the first entry concluded, this book wastes no time putting you on a wild ride of emotions. I thoroughly enjoyed their adventures, but the ensemble of the “Heathen Misfits” had me in stitches; each character is wonderfully crafted, thoughtfully designed, and has their own impact on the world. All the meaningful connections that were formed amongst the main cast really sold the camaraderie, and throughout the whole book my appreciation for the character development (especially with Lorcan) compounded. They all felt as if their entire lives had been moulding them for these moments.

This is easily one of my favourite duets; the blending of witches and demons, the hellish atmospheres, contrasted by their delightful banter. I just couldn’t get enough. Dark spicy fantasy with humour, yes please!

The spice in this dark fantasy is undeniably flavourful.. Please check the TWs.

The ending was beautiful and *spoiler*

AND FINALLY IT'S HERE (ik it's been here for a month) AND I FINALLY READ IT!!!

I was waiting for the second book for soo long and I can't believe I finally read it.
The authors delivered what we wanted, the spice, the plot, the character development, introducing characters.
the character development of Lor was well written, him going from brooding and wanting to kill Evie to loving her and not letting her grow and trying to communicate how he feels showed how far he has come.
And my poor Evie the shit she goes through at the beginning of the second book AGH, I was really on the edge of my seat saying "LIKE WHERE TF ARE U LOR" but Evie got it. However, still, what Edward (the sperm donor that's what I prefer calling cuz he ain't a father) did he deserve what was coming to him, the only thing I wish I wanted was for him to suffer more like pure torture he deserved real agony and days of torture. Still, I get that time was not on their side
and how can I forget Gomez, I just luv him the way he protects Evie and doesn't want to let her go shows how strong their bond is.
Now coming to Ezra and Rosa, dayum their chemistry was too potent, and the way he protected her towards her brother AGHHH and went on rampage, i was like alr plus the way he calls her "sugar" UFFF. Ezra was really one of my favorite characters in this book, he really brought the charm, flirty and humor to it, literally had me giggling when he speaks or his interaction witH Rosa.
Everyone needs a Rosa in their life the way she truly shines and is there for Evie and the way she is protective towards the people she love really showed what type of person she is.
Now coming to Aiden and Gideon, I did not see that coming. I really thought Aiden would switch sides but I am glad he didn't. Plus the way Gideon growls and gets pissed when Lor scares or taunts or degrades him, I was like "Oh okay", I am rooting for them, they give me "sunshine x broody" vibes where Gideon is only soft for Aiden.

plus the interaction between lucifer and Evie was soo adorable and heart warming, what Evie's aunt did deserved far worse than what she got and her partner in crime (don't want to spoil the name) got what he deserved as for what they did to Lor.

Now the reason why I give 4/5 instead of 5/5 was due to some reason, I am not gonna say it was due to too many spicy scenes because the plot made up for it instead I would say the spicy scenes especially the Lor going full beast mode, iykyk made up for it.
There were some grammatical errors not too many but they were.
I would love more if they showed Gideon making a direct move on Aiden because we know he feels attraction towards him and vice versa plus I need to know Gideon's thoughts on it too.
Now I do want more of Ezra and Rosa, so a book abt them will be interesting, and a book on Gideon and Ezra too, because why not.
I want to see what happens after the epilogue because we didn't get much.

💜First I want to thank Rebecca Garcia and C.M Hutton for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book.💜

I was so excited to finally dive back into this world-especially after the cliff hanger they decided to torture us with lol I don’t want to say too much and give anything away but what a perfect ending to this duet with Lorcan and Evie getting their happy ending. When we met Ezra at the end of book 1 he doesn’t seem like he’d be a favorite but omg he’s so snarky and funny. I hope sometime down the line we get a book about him and Rosa. The banter in this book is so good. I also love a good found family trope and while this one seems like an unconventional bunch, it definitely works lol Never thought I’d want a pet bat but if it was Gomey I wouldn’t think twice 🦇Fluffy F*cker always and forever 😅 And of course the spice was spicing and did not disappoint 🥵

Okay so Broken Shadows was DEFINITELY more fun than book one. Like, stuff actually happened this time. There was more action, more jokes, and the plot didn’t move at a glacial pace for once.

First of all, Lorcan.
WHY is this man still the male lead?? He’s so painfully cringe. One second he’s like Oh wow the bat is so cute and literally BFFs with him, then the next he’s having an emotional breakdown because Eva is paying more attention to said bat. “He watched her gaze linger on the bat longer than it did on him.” SIR. Get a grip. You're jealous of a literal bat. Grow up.

Also, the man cannot decide if he wants to kiss Eva or write her a sad poem. The angst is so heavy it gave me secondhand embarrassment. Every time he and Eva talked, I wanted to hand them both a therapist and leave the room. They are cute at the same time though. “I could sense it too.
Sense what, exactly? He asks.
That what we had was something epic.”

EVA!? STILL SUCH A DIVA!! She’s dramatic, powerful, and definitely carrying this series on her sparkly shoulders. Like she walks into every scene like “You will listen to me because I’m right.”…and somehow she actually is. Her sass and power moves were top-tier. No notes for her. She’s the main character and knows it. The way she clowned Lorcan half the time? I lived.

She is so powerful and strong though, I admire her resilience so much. “Just because he’s dead, doesn’t mean the deep wounds he left behind are. You can’t kill a memory, but you can heal your reaction to it, with time.”

“Tears line my lashes as the word father echoes along my brainwaves. Rosa never understood why I continue to call Edward that, but only a parent can inflict the brand of pain that burrows deep in my bones.”

Aiden and Lorcan’s friendship was actually adorable tho.
“For once, Aiden is right,” I acknowledge.
Aiden’s jaw drops open comically and his eyes bulge. “I…I…wha?” he stammers.
Ezra twists toward me, then raises his tattooed hand in front of his mouth and speaks at regular volume. “Utoh, I think you broke him.”
My eyes narrow on Aiden, then every single muscle in my body tightens rapidly as he tips forward and traps me in a bear hug. “I knew you liked me,” he cries in my ear.
I release a dark growl. “Aiden. Get. Off. Me.”
“Oh, shit. Sorry. Like, for real dude,”

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT EZRA AND ROSA??
My actual favorite part. Their chemistry? CHEF’S KISS. The way Ezra kept being all smooth and sarcastic and Rosa was like I hate you but with heart eyes?? I shipped it harder than the main couple.

Gideon was actually so cute though?? Like the wayI hated him, but he was so respectful to Rosa. “I may be your captive, Wrath, but I won't stand by and allow you to continually pester the woman. She obviously abhors your attentions.” ANDD. Is it just me or did I sense something between him and Aiden!? I ship it.

The worldbuilding still felt a little like someone dumped fantasy buzzwords into a cauldron and hoped for the best, but at least there were more fight scenes to distract from it. And the humor was genuinely better this time—some lines actually made me laugh instead of cringe.

The way I have been chomping at the bit to get back to Lorcan and Evie, I was so excited to read the conclusion to their story!

In Broken Shadows, we pick right back up at the ending of Corrupt Shadows with Evie having been found and much to her dismay she must trust Lorcan to help her, Gomez, Rosa and Aiden. She is so torn on her feelings towards Lorcan, he lied and manipulated her but his darkness calls to hers.

Lorcan will do whatever he must to get Evie back in his arms even if it means working with his annoying brother Ezra who caused the problem in the first place. He might have started his obsession with his Little Witch out of needing to use her to free him but Evie quickly grew under his skin and he can’t imagine not being near her.

Evie is put through the wringer at the beginning of this book and endures so much while she is captured. (Please read the CWs/TWs before reading) But she is also so fierce even when doubt and fear of loneliness creep in and Lorcan is there with her every step of the way.

The way that Lorcan cares for Evie in this book will have you swooning while he still has his rough edges, he had turned into a bit of a burnt cinnamon roll for her. He even cares for her familiar Gomez, even though he will never admit it 🤭 But he will not let Evie face her demons alone, he wants to be the only Demon she fears.

The playful banter is fantastic between Evie, Lorcan, Rosa, Aiden and Ezra. The way that Ezra tries to sweet talk Rosa and Aiden who Lorcan just loves to torment for his pleasure.

They all must work together to stop Evangeline and that includes journeying to Hell while facing trials and facing their fears. But don’t worry we still get the spicy spice we loved from Corrupt Shadows 😏

here we go....book 2

altho I am in love with the entire concept nd this second installment held my attention better, I felt like a teacher grading a highschool english paper during the whole thing. F btw, if you wanted to know the final grade.

I read a lot of indie authors which usually comes with independent "editors" that do a mostly ok job editing the books, so I usually just disregard errors but this one?! My god. There were so many grammatical/spelling errors that I was questioning my eyeballs at one point. Just being slapped in the face willy nilly with the same sentence twice in a row, repeated words nd phrases within sentences, a multitude of spelling errors. *face palm* I hope to God the authors didn't pay these editors cause they need their money back asap.

that aside, I thoroughly enjoyed this second part. we're outta the shadow realm nd have enlisted a buncha misfits to journey to hell to confront Lucifer himself. Lorry's brothers are adorably lovable with great banter nd brotherly love nd Aiden is everyone's favourite dumb dumb. I loved it enuf that, despite it's atrocious editing, I wanted to stay emerged in this world a little longer. worth the read all around.

While I enjoyed book 1 this book was riddled with problems. First, there was many spelling, punctuation and continuity errors.
At one point a butt plug was removed twice whilst only being put in once.
I can look over small errors but this book is full of them. It’s like they didn’t have anyone edit or proofread this book at all.
Second, the plot… where’d it go?? Evie kills her father but then what that’s the end of The Order? They are never to be heard from again. The group goes to Hell to confront Eva and they have to go through these trials, which could have been more interesting if it felt like more thought went into them. Lorcan the King of Demons is afraid of snakes? Come one. And of course there’s ones about uncontrollable lust. I love me a good sex scene but by half way through the book I was skimming over them because there wasn’t enough plot to get me to care about the sex.
I waited so long for this sequel to come out and was SO disappointed. The authors have set up for spin offs but I doubt I’ll even read them.
