This was a great book! It was one of my favorite works of fiction i've read in a while! It was fascinating plot and a great FMC. I love how she handles and everything and how she thinks. The characters are fun and each have a unique backstory. Also just a quick mention, the cover is gorgeous! Love it! Though it did have me fooled for a second that it was fantasy. I am so honored to have ARC read this book!
“"Hey... can I ask a favor of you?" "It depends," she said with a sassy tonality. "If it is getting up and making you a sandwich, the answer is no, Mister. He laughed and———playfully. "No, it isn't. Go and make me a sandwich. What is wrong with you?"
Kelly Keefe’s forthcoming novel She is a moving, soulfully rendered exploration of heartbreak, courage, and the transformative power of surrender. At once deeply personal and universally resonant, She invites readers to walk alongside its protagonist through a journey that begins in devastation and evolves into self-discovery, spiritual awakening, and unexpected love.
The story opens with a painful turning point: the protagonist, reeling from the abrupt end of a long-term relationship, finds herself at a crossroads. With nothing left tying her to her current life in Denver, she makes a bold, unorthodox decision—letting fate guide her next move through the toss of a dart. That spontaneous act lands her in New York City, a place that feels like the exact opposite of everything she knows. Still, she follows the call of the unknown, propelled by a quiet, growing belief that change—though terrifying—might be the key to healing. What unfolds from there is not just a relocation, but a profound transformation. Navigating the strangeness and beauty of her new city, she finds herself immersed in a world of art, relationships, and self-reflection. Amid the noise and motion of New York, she is drawn toward yoga as a grounding force. This practice becomes a spiritual anchor, slowly revealing new ways of experiencing life, healing old wounds, and reconnecting with her inner truth.
Keefe masterfully blends emotional depth with poetic clarity. Her prose is both lyrical and grounded, capturing the internal chaos of heartbreak and the delicate unfolding of self-awareness. As the protagonist begins to shed layers of old identity, readers witness the birth of a more empowered, awakened version of herself—one that emerges not in spite of pain, but through it. What makes She stand out is its balance of vulnerability and strength. Keefe doesn’t offer a perfect heroine or a predictable plot. Instead, she presents a woman willing to risk everything for the chance at something more authentic and aligned. The narrative is richly layered with themes of trust, resilience, spiritual connection, and the profound beauty of beginning again.
She is not just a story about moving to a new city—it’s about moving toward your true self. With elements of romance, adventure, and mysticism, the book appeals to readers who are navigating transitions of their own or seeking inspiration to embrace the unknown. She is an essential read for anyone drawn to stories of personal growth, soulful exploration, and the magic that unfolds when we choose to live from the heart. Kelly Keefe has written a powerful ode to transformation that lingers long after the final page.
👉Some books don’t just tell a story—they guide you through one. She by Kelly Keefe is one such novel. This isn’t just a tale of heartbreak and healing; it’s a soul-deep journey of surrender, transformation, and finding one’s true self through the chaos of change.
👉The story begins with devastation. The unnamed protagonist—referred to simply as She—has just been abandoned by her long-term boyfriend Mike. The life she thought she was building collapses in a single, heartbreaking moment. But instead of staying stuck in that pain, she does something radically brave: she throws a dart at a map and decides to follow wherever it lands.
👉That dart points her to New York City—a far cry from the comfort and quiet of her life in Denver. The city is overwhelming, unpredictable, and loud. But it is also alive with possibility. What begins as an impulsive escape becomes the start of a spiritual awakening.
👉As She navigates her new life, she’s drawn to art, new people, and eventually, to yoga. This isn’t just a side note in the story—it becomes her sanctuary. Through yoga, she begins to reconnect with her body, her breath, and ultimately, her spirit. It's a practice that grounds her and helps her find clarity amidst the city’s chaos and her own emotional unraveling.
👉What’s beautiful about Keefe’s storytelling is how real and unfiltered it feels. This isn’t a perfectly packaged story with a fairy-tale ending. It’s raw. Honest. Full of emotional ups and downs, fear, and hesitation. But it’s also radiant with self-discovery, resilience, and hope.
👉The prose is gentle yet powerful, spiritual yet grounded. Keefe invites us to walk beside the protagonist—not just to witness her transformation but to reflect on our own. Through She, we’re reminded of the beauty in starting over, the power in trusting the unknown, and the healing that comes when we release control and follow our hearts.
👉She is a love letter to the soul. It’s a story for anyone who’s ever felt broken, lost, or unsure of what comes next. It encourages us to believe that sometimes, our most painful endings lead us to our most authentic beginnings.
“She" is a beautifully written story with vivid, heartfelt storytelling… from the very first pages you really feel like you’re stepping right into the main character’s world!! her emotions, her choices, her adventures!
Kelly has such a gift for description… the scenes just come alive, and you quickly fall in love with the characters like they’re people you’ve known all along. Something that felt extra special for me was how she described some places I’ve personally been to in New York City… it was so spot on, and I found myself going down memory lane, especially with the Jivamukti yoga center.
This book honestly feels like just the beginning of something bigger!! like a launching pad for what’s to come. As I kept turning the pages I had this anticipation of what would unfold next… and the “to be continued” ending really left me excited to see where the journey leads.
For anyone who enjoys stories of self-discovery, connection, and new beginnings… this is such a beautiful read. I honestly can’t wait to see what Kelly creates in the next book!!

This authenticity of the journey of the protagonist was the most remarkable thing about "She". Her personality became believable and motivating as she experienced a spectrum of emotions, including heartbreak to find herself again in yoga and new experiences.
The balance was provided by the humor that was infused in her inner conversations. I liked that courage is highlighted and that it is time to begin afresh, even when you are frightened. The emotional sincerity held my attention, since the pacing slowed in places, but in general, the pacing was excellent. An emotionally empowering tale.
She is a heart wrenching, healing, and reinventing journey of Kelly Keefe. The fact that the main character decided to leave Denver and to New York was daring and revitalizing. I loved how it was set in balance with humor, romance and her development as a spiritual person through yoga. Certain transitions might have been more natural, though it is, on the whole, an emotional, identifiable story of how to seek strength and clarity in the face of a collapsed life. A very important lesson that new starts tend to begin in anarchy.
She is a wonderful and inspiring depiction of how awful heartbreak can be and how strong it takes to begin anew.
I liked how the protagonist took the leap of faith by relocating to New York without being told where to go by no more than a dart throw. Her yoga and self-discovery was genuine and inspirational. Her inner monologues, particularly regarding food preferences made her relatable.
There is a little slowing of the pace, but the emotional sincerity of the story is evident. An inspiring and very emotional book on inner strength and development.
This book contains the crude feelings of loss and beauty of change. Once Mike has gone, the vulnerability of the main character becomes tangible, but her daring action to move to New York preconditions self development. I appreciated the way yoga levelled her in the fray of disorder and romance made it three dimensional.
The style of writing is conversational and so interesting. The story inspired me, although some of its parts were stretched out. It is an emotionally inspiring story of fresh starts.
It is a refreshing reading at the beginning anew after a heartbreak. The choice of letting fate choose her future was bold and symbolic on the part of the protagonist. New York was the ideal place where she could develop, emotionally, and spiritually. The yoga aspect was a beautiful fibre, which anchored her messiness. Particularly, certain parts were dragging just a bit, yet the humor and the warmth made me entertained.
An easy to relate, emotionally charged story that is encouraging and empowering in the wake of loss.
She by Kelly Keefe is in a way relatable with its combination of heartbreak, humor and hope. Her break up with Mike was touching with its rawness and her jumping to New York was a sign of bravery. I liked the minor, unusual details such as her indecision over eating, and it is what made her real.
The theme of yoga brought a richness to the story, as it emphasized self discovery. Although the rhythm was not always consistent, the story had a core and an emotional charge that made it go. An inspiring, engaging read.
She is heartfelt and relatable as Kelly Keefe writes. The suffering of the protagonist following her separation was also crude, but the fact that she made a decision to take New York was empowering.
I also enjoyed the way yoga was her anchor in the storm of the world, and the romance was not too thickly accepted, but gave a twist to the self discovery theme. Certain parts went slower than others, except that the humor and good nature compensated.
The main point is that it is a well considered inspirational tale of the power of endurance and a new life.
She by Kelly Keefe hit me right in the feels. That whole dart-throwing life decision had me going. The way yoga wove into her chaos was spot-on—super grounding, without being preachy. Her worrying over food? Weirdly relatable. Sure, it lagged here and there, but the realness of her emotions kinda carried the whole vibe. By the end, I actually felt like I could ditch everything and start fresh too. Wild.
Okay, The author totally gets how much starting over just straight-up sucks, but also how it secretly rules. The main character’s spiral into New York chaos felt raw, but not drama queen levels. Yoga as a metaphor for sorting your own mess and loved that twist. It dragged in a couple spots, like yeah, I get it, life’s slow sometimes, but the emotions? 100% on point.
If you’ve ever wanted to press “reset,” give this a shot.
What really got me about She is just how freaking real it all felt. The character's breakup with Mike wasn’t some overblown TV-movie mess, it actually had weight. The jump to NYC gave the story some serious energy. Kelly Keefe brought city chaos, but also these deep, introspective moments. Tempo dropped a bit here and there but, hey, so does life. Left me kinda fired up to shake things up, honestly. Give it a read fs.
So, Kelly Keefe’s She basically throws you into that mess of heartbreak, but balances it out with little flashes of hope and some unexpected laughs. The New York phase? That's my fav. Her personal growth outshines the romance bit a nice change, honestly and yoga sneaks up as her solid ground. Her rambling, relatable inner-monologues kept me invested. A few chapters dragged their feet, not gonna lie, but the feels made it worth sticking around. Pick this up if you like rooting for an underdog.
Honestly, reading She was like third wheeling on your BFF’s breakup recovery roadtrip. The main character’s ups and downs had me rooting for her, yelling at her decisions, and grinning at her tiny wins. New York’s wildness, her cringe worthy food indecision, that yoga sessions it all felt weirdly personal. Some chapters loitered a bit too long, but whatever, I still loved hanging out for the journey.
Good for anyone whose life plan just exploded and needs some inspiration.
Relatable main character alert! Her tough call to leave Denver for NYC felt big and scary, but the way the author wrote it, it’s like you’re right there, biting your nails. I liked how the story found meaning in the tiny stuff, like what she eats or her yoga sessions. Romance was cool, but her solid glow up was better.
There’s this sneaky humor sneaking around every heavy scene, which keeps things from getting too mopey. If you’re into resilient heroes, you’ll vibe with this book hard.
Author Kelly Keefe creates a personal story of how to say goodbye and live in the unknown. The scene of the breakup was emotional and dramatic and it preconditioned the jump of the protagonist into New York.
I liked the humor of her inner conversations, as she was relatable. The yoga was spiritual in nature, and it added depth to the story. The emotional core is great, even though the rhythm is a bit unsteady.
An insightful, inspirational book on heroism and change.
It is an emotional story about what it takes to begin again following a tragedy. Her sincerity of her suffering touched me and her choice of taking on the challenge of New York inspired me. Yoga turned out to be a good grounding to her journey, as a representation of inner calm. The jokes between the bits of her food made me laugh. Parts may have been tighter but the story in general is heartfelt, inspiring and very relatable.
She is a touching, heart felt tale of love and renewal. I could also relate to the protagonist in his choice to begin afresh in New York- it is daring and at the same time exposed. I was a big fan of the balance of regular humor, romance, and spiritual deeper consideration provided by yoga. Although some of these passages might have been shortened, the emotional procession kept me entertained.
Kelly Keefe presents a very human and motivating story of the beauty of taking a leap of faith.
She is an inspirational tale of heart ache and rejuvenation. I liked how the main character is as bold as to abandon Denver and move to New York against her own expectations. The yoga aspect was also included, and it represented her quest for balance.
There was a little bit of pacing, but on the whole, it is an emotional, inspiring read on valuing courage and self discovery and making the best out of life and its unexpected twists and turns.
Kelly Keefe portrays the vulnerability of being heartbroken and the power of beginning again. The action of the main character throwing the dart to New York seemed significant and bold. And the yoga theme in particular, I liked, it provided her with a footing in the whirlwind. The laughs scattered throughout caused her to be relatable. The book is not flawless in all aspects, but it is a very positive and sincere that new starts can be made in the most unanticipated locations.
I could relate to the quality of honesty and bravery in heartbreak and courage, as presented in her work. The decision of the main character to jump to New York was a bold and captivating one as driven by destiny and i loved this part. Yoga turned out to be a beautiful metaphor in her inner balance, romance was introduced by warmth.
It is an inspiring, heartfelt, story of growing up, perseverance and stepping into the unknown, though there were parts that dragged.
It is a captivating and touching tale of beginning again after being broken by love. Her helplessness and boldness were embodied by the fact that the main character ran away to New York.
I liked that yoga became her source when she was unsure. The comic elements, and in particular, her food indecision, lightened up the story. Certain scenes were dragged a bit, yet on the whole, it is an uplifting, sincere story of development and new lives.
This book totally nails what it’s like to hit rock bottom and actually get back up again. The protagonist goes from sobbing over Mike to just straight-up sending herself to New York. The yoga and spiritual stuff didn’t feel tacked on, it just blended right in with her new life. The author's writing is super conversational, like someone chatting in a coffee shop. A really good one!
This book "She" is basically the ultimate breakup bounce back story. Her starting over in NYC adventures were like watching someone’s Instagram highlight reel. I cracked up at her dinner debates—can relate, TBH. The yoga sprinkled in there made her whole vibe balance out, romance and all. You want some hope with your heartbreak? This one’s your jam.
This book just flat out owns the whole “new life after heartbreak” theme. Didn’t sugarcoat anything one minute she’s down bad, the next she’s finding herself, and I ate it up.
Yoga comes in like a superpower midway through, too. The author Keefe writes like this book "she’s" your bestie, just talking you through it all.
She by Kelly Keefe brings all the raw breakup feels—like, ouch. It’s not all rainbows plenty of stumbling, but that’s what made her journey awesome. The yoga sessions were good as it actually helped her get it together.
Totally smiled at her food dilemmas too. A bit slow in parts, but the read is worth it. For anyone needing a fresh start or just a pep talk, dive in.
Humor, heartache and hope go hand in hand in this book. The choice to go to New York after her break up was daring and invigorating the protagonist. Her weird food arguments appealed to me it humanized her.
I was inspired by the story, although the pacing would sometimes have been better. An intelligent, touching novel of maturity and rebirth.
