In the rugged shadows of Pine Haven’s mountains, something far deadlier than memories is going up in flames.
There's a serial arsonist on the loose, and when one of the historic lodges in Pine Haven burns to the ground, a gruesome discovery is found in the ashes. A discovery that will scorch away secrets held for generations.
Jessie, Alex, and Blizzard are joined by Korr Green, an enigmatic smoke jumper with secrets of his own, as they hunt someone that revels in doing the unthinkable.
As they dig deeper dig deeper into the mind of a madman, each new clue reveals a tangle of secrets linking century-old photographs, long-buried family feuds, and whispered conspiracies that have shaped Pine Haven’s history.
But as more fires burn, more layers of the truth are stripped away.
What they uncover threatens to ignite a generations-spanning conspiracy that could consume everyone involved. Now Jessie, Alex, and one of Pine Haven’s most decorated heroes must race to unravel a deadly plot—before it’s written in blood and seared into the town’s legacy forever.
Some family legacies are written in blood. Others are erased by fire.
I'm so hooked on this series, like ALL of it. The characters, the geographic location, the town, the whole darn series is so good. In seriously so excited for book 7!! I wonder if there's a way to get a copy early?! I'm so looking forward to more of Embers writing and how detailed she is with Pine Haven, it's people, it's inner workings and the TEA is spilling and it's Spicy! I really am a Pine Haven fan.
I read all six in a row! Wish the seventh was coming out soon.
I have totally enjoyed this series. There are no slow spots or poor editing. They are everything good books should be. Each book tackles a new situation with the two main characters remaining consistent. I highly recommend this author and this series. I read day and night and finished all six in order. I just wish there were more.
Love this series. The stories hold your interest. I do recommend reading this series in order only because it shows how the relationship between Jessie Night and the Detective is growing. I wish Ember Scott could roll out the next book faster, I find myself wanting to start the next book as soon as I finish one.
An enjoyable read, at times the series can be a little predictable but still a good read. I read all types of books so I find when I’ve been in the horror genre to long this is a good break.
The challenges that living in the mountains make for a interesting story. This one with the history of the people who made themselves rich taking from people who they threatened to get their land.
As always I enjoyed this book immensely.. The whole series is hard to put down. Love the characters. I’m thinking Jesse is going to have a little romance sometime soon
I love this series! It never gets old and Jessie, Blizzard and Alex are tough as nails. There’s always a mystery to solve and a criminal to catch, truly kept me on the edge of my seat! Definitely recommend this 7 book series
loved this one - ton of characters again but they all connected and interweaved w each other in such an interesting way. too much happened but I didn’t mind, it made for a great story that I read most of the second half of the story in one sitting.
