Faith filled romantic suspense at its best! Axel Reinhardt is dealing with demons from his overseas assignments with the SEAL team. He and his team are working with Knight Tactical now and the boss insists he sees a therapist for his PTSD. Dr. Olivia Kane has become a well known therapist for veterans in honor of her late brother. When Axel arrives for his appointment, he never expected he would be helping her instead of her helping him. He has vowed to keep her safe while discovering who has brought danger to her doorstep. Will he be able to keep his vow?
Another great book in the Hope Landing: New Recruits series by Edie James. Love the way that the author takes the premise of a character dealing with a past trauma and weaves such a compelling story around it. The action and suspense grabs you from the beginning and holds you until the end. The growing attraction between the main characters just makes them more relatable. The interplay between the team members reflects the dynamics of a real family. This is another great story by Edie James that I highly recommend.
Awesome read. The book had a great plot that kept me guessing, and great characters. The suspense was non stop, and I couldn't put the book down.
I was disappointed that the author tossed in one use of "bastard" and a few uses of damn. One reason - among others - that I read Christian fiction is to avoid language like that. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise.
When most of the plot and action revolves around computer hacking and hands off interactions between the good guys and the bad guys my interest flags. A lot of the dialogue just tried too hard, too. The opening scene was exciting but I don't think I ever understood why it happened. First book was good and I'll try the next one.
This is a very entertaining book full of suspense and wonderful characters along with some bad guys. There is depth to the characters and all the things they are going through. There are a few sad things. Hope and faith are woven nicely into the story. I really enjoyed this book.
I enjoyed the book but I have to admit that it was dangerously close to not being Christian with all of the profanity. It will make me cautious of reading her other books!
axle has agreed to get help for his ptsd, but when he gets to her office she is attacked and he goes in to his protective mode. the more the group looks into what is going on the more complicated it becomes. if you like suspense you will want to read the story. the author is very good
They have totally opposite personalities but the click so well but she wouldn’t admit she had a “thing” for Axel. She was determined that was not going to happen. Axel wanted to get closer to Olivia but she shut him down time after time after time. Enjoy.
I enjoyed Deadly Hope as it involves Axel, who has PTSD, helping Olivia, a therapist, from danger instead of her helping him on their first encounter. This story has danger and suspense and a good plot line. Axel and his teammates have a great dynamic among themselves.
Well written suspense and characters. I wish the story had a little more lead in, as the book went from 0-60, which was fine for the suspense but with the romance it felt a little far fetched to develop so quickly. But still a really entertaining read.
I have read and enjoyed many of the author’s books. This one was harder for me to get into. More than that, I am truly disappointed in the language that has grown with each book lately. This one has had the most of all and some of the words surprised me. Really sad that it was deemed necessary as her books are good without it.
