Mountainmances #2

Taming the Wild Mountain Man

Rate this book
My name is Tenley Moore, and I'm a safe-aholic.

At thirty, I've never made a major decision without roping in my A-grade consulting team of chai tea, oatmeal raisin cookies, and an Excel spreadsheet.

So when I do something impulsive for the first time in my life––like quitting my job, moving halfway across the country to a small mountain town, and buying a house sight unseen––of course it's a disaster

But my biggest problem?

That'd be my new neighbor, Hume Rockwell, AKA the world's loudest and rudest mountain man, who needs to stop strutting around shirtless and learn some manners. At fifty-two, he really should know better.

But I won't get distracted by his chiselled torso or abs of steel that would make men half his age jealous. If my sexy neighbor wants a war, I'll give him one.

The last thing I expect is to fall for the guy who's twenty-two years older and the exact opposite of me––wild, carefree, and risk-taking. But since I've taken a chance in uprooting my life, should I go all in on love with the wild mountain man?

Taming the Wild Mountain Man is an enemies-to-lovers, age gap romance that leads to an epic neighborly prank war between Ms. Play-it-Safe and a former Navy SEAL and adrenaline-seeking Hollywood stuntman.

It's the second book in the Mountainmances series but can be read as a stand-alone.

It comes with Ash's PG-passion "All heart, no heat" guarantee!

This was cute- Ash does a great job of detail in her writing while keeping it PG. I love an age gap AND enemies to lovers while being the ‘girl next door’ I didn’t realize where this was set til LA was mentioned but that’s not super important. I guess I just think of more Colorado, Montana ,or Utah even? when we’re talking about a small mountain town. But the story is cute and fast paced which makes it a super short and fun little read.

Favorite Quote:
“And there it is. Record the date and time because I've done it. I've just made Tenley smile for the first time. It's a hard-won achievement, one I thought might never happen, but now that it has, I revel in my victory.”

What a short and fun read! Who doesn’t love a neighbor prank war? Especially one that involves a petting zoo at 6 in the morning! 😂

I think the only thing I didn’t super enjoy, is that fact that it’s a 22 year age gap. It seemed like a lot, but that’s just my preference.

Thank you to the author for the advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

A short, quick read that will have you escaping reality for a bit. Ash definitely delivers a great story in under 100 pages in this short novella.

The romance was believable and the story moved at a good pace for being short. Nothing felt forced, rushed, or unrealistic; which can happen in novellas. Ash has always been great at pulling her readers in and this book does just that.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

I don’t read a ton of age gap romance but this one sucked me in. I love the feud between Tenley and Hume. It isn’t mean but more childish and innocent in nature which makes it feel cute more so than aggressive. I think these two got off on the wrong foot more than they actually dislike one another.
This is a short, quick read but is a perfect neighbor romance. It is a dual pov, closed door romance.

Tenley is always planning everything. However, she leaves everything behind and buys a house without seeing it.
Hume makes beds at nighttime and makes a lot of noise. As he has always been alone, he doesn’t realize it.
There are a lot of misunderstandings that make the relationship between Tenley and Hume a bit difficult until everything is clear.
Short, sweet and funny.

A fun romcom with a few surprises along the way! It starts with an enemies to more trope and throws in an age gap trope to boot. I liked the characters and the story moves naturally. It’s closed door with a bit of spice and a great ending. Enjoyed this novella!

This was such a fun read but really short. This short little novella series is great. I just want more of these characters and their stories.

OKAY I LOVE THIS BOOK SERIES!!!!!!! Book one (Kissing the Wrong Mountain Man) was better than this one, but this book was still fun!

I loved the age gap trope (Tenley was so chill about it all! She wasn't whiny or weird, which I appreciate), how Hume called Tenley "sweetheart" all the time 🥹💕, and the overall vibes.

I was expecting this book to be a little better in terms of the romance, only because book one had ALL the feels, and this one felt super rushed and short. Again, I know this is a novella, but even book 1 (also a novella) didn't feel this rushed.

💕Cute book and I really wish the author had even more books in this series for me to binge. :)

The tension between Hume and Tenley was 🔥🔥. This enemies to lovers prank war age gap was hilarious. I was surprised with each new prank that was put in by these two. But after their truce is when things became so much better. After calling their truce and Hume started helping Tenley with the repairs on her house, she began to realize how much she was attracted to him, and him to her. The age gap was not a big deal for me. It was written very well.
