4.25⭐️ OK, so I’m a sucker for a good mafia romance, but something about an Irish man hits different.
I loved the way this book started, like we took off sprinting🤣 Riley escapes the mafia life and reluctantly shows up to her sister’s wedding even though that sister is arranged to marry the man Riley’s had a thing for basically her whole life. And then? Surprise her sister runs off, so Riley’s forced to step in since they’re identical twins. This was such a fun setup for forced proximity and arranged marriage, but with a little taboo twist. We get those “we shouldn’t be doing this” moments because technically, Finn is supposed to be marrying her sister. But let’s be real these two had chemistry that could not be ignored. Even during the ceremony, that “you may kiss the bride” moment? Yeah, they both knew they were fucked right then and there.
There’s a ton of angst in this (which I LOVE).That delicious kind where you know they’re meant to be together, but they keep pushing it down because it feels wrong… until it very much doesn’t. These two fall fast and hard because of their shared history, and I liked how naturally they just fell into step with each other. They just made sense, even though they were fighting their feelings for pretty much the entire book for totally different reasons, it was kind of beautiful watching them give in to that, even if the circumstances were an absolute mess ( I mean hello he’s still engaged to her sister even though she’s MIA🤣😭)
This was action-packed, fast-paced, exciting and spicy as hell. Like, these two had a 24-hour fuckathon and it was one of the hottest things I’ve ever read. Finn’s dominant side had me weak in the knees. He was doing things a girl can only dream about. I now need to be flipped upside down and devoured, thanks. And when he started throwing around the words “my wife” I was a goner.
He’s grumpy and rough around the edges, but my God, he’s so soft for her. He’s severely overprotective and not in an annoying way. He respects her, wants her safe, but doesn’t try to control her and he’s got a little sass to him too, which I loved. The way he was flirting? GIDDY. And Riley was dishing it right back she really won me over. I loved her personality, her fire, and apparently she can shoot like a pro. Pop the fuck off, Queen
The storyline was solid too, two mafia families at each other’s throats, lots of tension, enough plot to keep things interesting beyond just the romance and just the right amount of “oh fuck” moments to keep you flipping pages. If you’re looking for a bingeable mafia romance with SPICE( I’m still fanning myself off) angst, and a good time, it’s this one right here.
