I really appreciated that throughout this book, Kara reiterated the idea that perfect is the enemy of good!! It doesn’t have to be perfect, you don’t have to be the pErFeCt investor or recycler or community-builder, so just get over yourself and do somethinggggg, basically. And man, the section on walkable college campuses and community etc., I miss college all the time for that alone!

Love Kara and all her personal finance and community building work. The book is like a long conversation with her and obviously, she can go into a lot more detail with things in a long-form format. Her approach to personal finance is very timely and not necessarily based on the nuts and bolts but looking at your money in the big picture, how you can use your dollars to support not just the life you want, but also support your community and use money to enact your values.

This book is fantastic! It has often seemed like an either-or choice when it comes to being an environmentalist and also building wealth. I love Kara's words and the way she discusses these topics in a cohesive way. This is the finance book I have been waiting for!

Very 101 in what it's recommending/covering, but a solid guide to living your values through what you consume. I liked the blend of the warm and (naturally) humorous tone from the author and solid financial education/advice.
