**The first romcom in a new series by USA Today-bestselling author Angela Casella**
The best revenge is falling for his brother.
Sophie
My dream of opening a crafting business for kids has slid into a dead-end job at a brewery, but I fool myself into thinking everything's going well, because I'm engaged to a gorgeous, ambitious catch of a man who's crazy about me. Or so I think...
We accidentally swap phones, and I realize he's been cheating on me with three other women, none of whom know about each other.
I break up with him, but I'm devastated...until I befriend the other women he wronged. I want revenge for all of us, and I find the perfect opportunity to get back at the jerk when he confronts me at the brewery where I work.
He and his brother, Rob, hate each other, and Rob's playing a set at the bar.
One stolen kiss later, I have a fake boyfriend who's just as invested in getting back at my ex as I am.
Rob
Sophie's pollyanna personality has always driven me crazy. Sometimes there's no silver lining, just an empty pouch someone's already pickpocketed. But I'm seeing a whole new side of the woman my douchey brother convinced to wear his ring.
This Sophie is opinionated, fierce, and eager to experience everything she's missed in life by being too agreeable. I'm all too willing to help.
My brother ruined my life. Seems only fair for me to steal his girl.
There are TWO different versions of this 1) A spicy open door version with some strong language and sex scenes 2) A closed door version with mild language and only kissing. Please choose the version that's best for you!

ARC READ: Best Served Cold by @angelacasellaauthor Publication Date: May 29, 2025
This was absolutely adorable and honestly funny! My favorite is when RomComs ACTUALLY have the Comedy part! I am a huge fan of revenge plots and kinda ‘taboo’ or at least, ‘we shouldn’t’ romances! (ARC reviews are hard because I don’t want to give anything away!!!!)
What a fun, laugh out loud rom-com with the sweetest revenge: falling for your ex-fiancé’s brother. After Sophie discovers her fiancé has been cheating on her, she finds herself befriending his brother, Rob. With the assistance of the other wronged girlfriends and the good-hearted meddling help of the community, they seek revenge on said mutual villain. During their escapades, Sophie and Rob decide to embrace their feelings as more than friends (that might or might not involve a box of rainbow covered prophylactics!). While their conversations and hijinks were hilarious, the relationship they developed was super sweet and real and stole the show. There are two versions, a closed and open door, I enjoyed the spice! 4.25 stars Thanks to the author and Hambright PR for the eARC.
First let me say I love that there is a spicy and a non-spicy version. I also LOVED the dedication at the beginning.
This book in my opinion really plays into fate and everything happens for a reason. Dottie one of the side characters is literally the best character ever! She was hilarious and spiritual. She definitely gave some push into making Sophie and Rob get together. Sophie really goes through a rough patch when she finds out her fiancé is a cheater. I’m glad she got her HEA in the end.
I read the spicy version and holy cow was it hot! I’m interested to see what the other version is like. But I definitely enjoy this book. The author is amazing at making you fall in love with her characters.
I had a blast reading "Best Served Cold" by Angela R. Casella. I loved the growing relationship between Rob and Sophie, the two main characters! It feels like Casella really took her time to get her readers invested in their relationship! I also love how she develops the friendship between Sophie and the other women who were wronged by her ex-boyfriend, Jonah. Their dynamic is full of heart and humor, and I loved the message of solidarity and togetherness that springs forth out of a bad situation. I ADORED Dottie, who doesn't love a sassy lil' ol' lady character!? Casella does a spectacular job of making readers absolutely HAAAAAAAATE Jonah... man, what a jerk!! This book made me laugh and swoon, and I also loved the spice! It balances the character development, the wanting, the heat, the heart, the bar vibe/beer and mixed drinks, and the humor very well. My one complaint is that it maybe could have been a little bit shorter because it drags here and there. Still, I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
Thank you to Angea R. Casella and Hambright for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.
Thank you, Angela Casella and Hambright PR, for this ARC of 𝘉𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘥!
Review:
I thought this was going to be a great book about revenge after cheating, but it was that and so much more.
This was fun and funny, and it was fast-paced. There was always something happening, and I couldn't put it down.
Sophie and Rob's story is wonderfully sweet. Sophie and her "found family" with the other women in this book is amazing.
Also, everyone needs someone like Dottie in their lives. She was so fun and wise!
This was a great read with an enjoyable plot. I highly recommend it!!

Note from the author:
"Note: There are TWO different versions of this romcom: 1) A spicy open door version with some strong language and sex scenes 2) A closed door version with mild language and only kissing. Please choose the version that's best for you!"
Think John Tucker Must Die but make it adult. I was honestly eating this book up.
Between the humor, the craziness of it all, Dottie, and the found family aspect - this was a good time. The vibes were all there and I just had fun reading this.
Plot was great, all the storylines for each character were entertaining and I really loved rooting for Rob and Sophie. I absolutely LOVED this being an ex's brother kind of romance. Because 1. it's petty AF but 2. Jonah was the actual worst and deserved it.
Rob and Sophie are two people who've put so much pressure on themselves - pressure to be better people and make amends for their actions when they were younger. But what they don't realize is that they are perfect the way they are and definitely perfect for each other. I loved that they were both quirky in their own ways but they compliment each other so well. I loved their chemistry, I loved their banter, and I loved their more intimate moments.
I loved how Rob tried so hard to help Sophie see how amazing she is. He truly fell for this girl and he was so deserving of finding happiness for himself. He saw a good thing and grabbed onto it. No matter what could get in his way.
The whole rainbow condom thing was brilliant. And if you're confused by that...guess you'll just have to read this to find out 😉
I loved the newly found girl group that forms. All have been wronged by Jonah - all taking this crappy situation and making beautiful friendships out of it. I just love how supportive of each other they are.
Dottie and her shenanigans were such a sweet added bonus to this story. She's a bit crazy but...you can't help but love her. I just love how blunt and honest she is. Especially towards her feelings about Rob and Sophie together. Her newly found friendship with Rob was also so damn cute. I loved their interactions.
I wish we got to see Jonah really get his in the end, I feel like a few things were missing, and the end was a little rushed BUT honestly, I don't care if there were flaws in this or not. I was having a fun time with this and I'm honestly really excited for the next one. I love the setup we get for Travis and Hannah!
If you want a hot musician who falls for his brother's ex with humor and an adorable old lady next door with crystals and reads tea leaves (AND with the option of a spicy version or sweet version of this book) then you've come to the right place!
Thank you so much to Hambright PR and Angela Casella for the e-arc copy!
I always appreciate this author’s writing, but this series’ start is simply too good to resist. Sophie is an endearing and lovable character. I effortlessly turned the pages, losing track of time as I read, as usual with this author’s work. It focuses on found family, female empowerment, and friendships; most importantly, being true to yourself. This was fun, sweet, and steamy. Although, there is a “Sweet” option, for those who don’t want to sizzling parts… but the sizzle between Rob and Sophie is done so well, I recommend the spicy version! :)
Unfortunately for Sophie, her fiancée is not the man she thinks he is, and her life gets upended when she learns of the depths of his lying. While I expected a simple revenge story, this book offered so much more than that. Otis and Dottie are fantastic in their support, and I think everyone needs a Dottie in their life!! Rob and his relationship with Jonah and his father was compelling and heartbreaking, and I was thrilled with the resolution for all involved.
I encourage you to fall in love with this author right here, and once done with Sophie and Rob’s story, (and waiting for the next in the series) return to her catalog of unforgettable works, and find new couples to embrace. Totally worth your time, IMO.
Fortunate to receive an ARC (thank you), I happily leave my review.
This is my first time reading a book by Angela R. Casella and I loved how the story opened with the phone switch and all the banter through texting that was happening with the dramatic start. Very fun with lots of great laughs. Even through all the deceit and hurtful drama that Jonah brings to the plot, the women sticking together was nice to see. Fun twist that isn't always the norm in real life.
Love a good crossover trope of brother's ex fiancée to add a bit to the plot. I read the steamy version and there is also a closed door one too depending on your cup of tea. What a nice way to provide a storyline that can be for everyone depending on your preference.
Although this was a cute and fun rom-com with a lot happening, it fell flat for me in many ways. I thought with all the layers it was a little chaotic with characters like Dottie who maybe caused more problems than I would typically love in this genre.
Even with that said, I love Sophie and Rob's journey and has one of my favorite 90s rom-com vibes with John Tucker Must Die Elements. So if you loved that movie like me, you should check it out!
Thank you to Hambright PR and Angela for my advanced copy!
I chose the sweet romcom version of this book and it was cute!! This one caught my attention right away especially with Sophie's roommate. OMG, some of those scenes were hilarious!! I immediately disliked Johah and his mom. That boy needs a rude awakening, and I just loved the payback in this one! Rob is adorable and I just loved how he adored Sophie. It was also nice to see Dottie. She's hilarious and she has a way of knowing things.
A very special thanks to Hambright PR for the gifted ALC.
I chose to read the #spicy version of this book (yes you can chose an open or closed door version- how freaking cool is that my friends) && it was the perfect blend of sweet, swoony, hilariously funny, endearing and just an overall captivating read!
There were some crazy / chaotic situations that would cause most people to lose their 💩 but this story was written to bring forth positives when life throws curveballs at you… which made it so much more enjoyable and lovely! The friendships that were created = chef’s kiss!!! 💋
I fell in love with the MC’s (not the jerkish brother) from the very beginning and couldn’t get enough. They were perfectly crafted with Angela’s wordsmith 📚.
There were little 🥚 eggs thrown in that were fun to find and also some characters from the previous series had cameos too- which I also really LOVED!
I feel like while reading I was continually highlighting snippets from Every Single Page (soooo honestly it was over 1/2 the book, don’t judge me🤭) because there were so many parts I wanted to remember and share when the release date is closer 💖!
This was overall a 6/5 star and I think might just might be my absolute FAV by Angela Casella so far!!! - but you can never go wrong with any of her romcom books!
I have been reading and enjoying a couple of Angela Casella's books this year, but this one solidified Angela as an auto buy author for me.
I've yet to be disappointed and Best Served Cold is no different. The character building, our main and side characters, the foreshadowing....it's all great! I was entertained from start to finish and I so SO enjoyed Sophie and Rob.
The backgrounds of each of our characters played so much a part on who we met on these pages, and it felt so special.
I would easily read this again!
overall: highly recommend. spice: you get to choose! but I read open door.
the writing in this one is vivid and descriptive and the concept honestly sounded like such a fun Hallmark movie style rom com which I love
the premise of the story is about a woman who discovers her fiance has been cheating on her with not just one woman but MULTIPLE women... and she befriends them and they all team up for some satisfying revenge. the Plot twist? His brother joins the chaos!!!
I was totally on board with the idea... but the execution just didn’t click for me. Early on, there’s a scene where the main character throws a wedding to marry herself after finding out about the cheating and while I know some will find that empowering or hilarious... for me? it just gave me a lot of cringe...
Throughout the first half I found myself feeling more cringey than connected, and I realized I wasn’t enjoying the ride the way I hoped so I decided to set it down
That said, I can absolutely see this working for readers who love bold over the top humor, chaotic revenge plots, and a little brotherly twist thrown in. It just sadly wasn’t the right fit for me personally
Sophie has been trying for years to get over her bad luck and cling to what is good in her life - that being her amazing fiancé Jonah. Sure, he may be finicky, and judgmental, and not take her opinions into consideration, but at least she's found someone to finally love her. Until they mistakenly switch phones for the day and she finds out he has multiple girlfriends on the go. Lost and angry, she gets support from the one person she'd never expect - the brother he always hated.
*****
This was such a great read. I am obsessed with how Rob uplifts and supports Sophie as she learns to love herself. He'd initially judged her as endlessly positive to the point of being naive, and a peace-keeper at her own detriment. Right up until the day she broke and let a bit of her past self slip through. Seeing him slowly pull that out of her, refuse to let her apologize for existing, and embrace all of her weird and quirky ways was so beautiful.
Sophie connecting with the women Jonah had used and manipulated to form a bond with them was unexpected and such a genuine way to approach the cheating trope. I also absolutely loved the weird, meddling Dottie and her group of elderly wise women. Sure it added unexpected mysticism, what felt like magic-realism adjacent tropes, and a lot of ridiculous antics, but it fit in perfectly with the overall vibe. The entire book was light-hearted while also addressing two leads who had never gotten the appropriate amount of love and care from those who raised them. Seeing how that affected them, and yet still still could learn to love slow, deeply, and unconditionally was everything.
I adored Rob and Sophie, and can't wait to read more from the author.

Thank you to The Author Agency for the digital ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book was so cute! I absolutely loved it. I think this was my first time reading a story where she dates her ex's brother and I ate it up.
I really loved the chemistry between Rob and Sophie. They were so cute together and both well-developed characters. Also, Rob in general!!! Ugh, I love him.
I also really loved that she found best friends through this difficult situation. I love Briar and Hannah so much. They really are great to Sophie.
I'm so excited for the next book in the series! Thank you to Hambright PR and Angela Casella for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
It was so fun! The perfect romcom—it gave major John Tucker Must Die meets The Other Woman movies vibes, which I absolutely adored!✨🩷
Sophie thought her life was on track—until she accidentally swapped phones with her fiancé and discovered he was cheating on her with three other women. Heartbroken but determined, she teams up with the other women to get revenge. Her ex’s brother Rob, a musician and sworn enemy, is the perfect partner in crime—and maybe more. One fake relationship, a few stolen kisses, and a whole lot of drama later, Sophie starts to realize the best revenge might just be falling for the wrong brother... or the right one.
This is an absolutely perfect light palate cleanser—nothing bad, nothing groundbreaking, but completely enjoyable with a touch of deeper meaning.

Do you believe in luck? Do you have a rabbit foot? A four leaf clover? A lucky penny?
Well, Sophie believes that she has the worst luck in Asheville! She just found out that her fiancée, Jonah, has been cheating on her with 3 other women by a text messages. They are all babes in the brewing industry! Rob doesn’t believe in luck but he was pulled into this drama by Jonah, his half brother. Let’s just say that Rob helps Sophie turn her luck around because dating the ex’s older brother is the best luck & revenge.
Angela does it again! I love the characters, the friendships that are forged in disaster & the Wise Women Group with their sage advice! This book has something for everyone! If you have never read an Angela Casella book, this is the one to try! 💜💜💜
This is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t trust ARC reviews (and I say this as an ARC reviewer). This was not great. At all. Lots of cringe. Subpar writing. Overuse of the word “Pollyanna”. I struggled so hard to finish it, legit kept dozing off. I should have DNF’d 🤪 just read the synopsis, know it’s a HEA and you’re good to go.
Sophie's life takes a hilarious and heartbreaking turn when a phone mix-up reveals her fiancé, Jonah, is cheating on her. Devastated but not defeated, Sophie finds an unexpected alliance with Rob, her ex's half-brother, and two of the other wronged women, turning shared misery into a powerful bond.
Rob, who has always seen Sophie as a “pollyanna", quickly discovers a fierce, opinionated side to her that he finds undeniably attractive. Their fake relationship is ripe for sparks, witty banter, and a delightful slow burn as real feelings begin to develop amidst their antics.
Angela Casella truly shines in her character development, giving both Sophie and Rob remarkable depth. Sophie's journey from heartbroken fiancée to a woman embracing her fierce independence is compelling and inspiring. Rob, on the other hand, is the kind of hero you'll swoon for right along with Sophie – complex, charming, and with a mischievous side that perfectly complements Sophie's newfound spunk.
Beyond the magnetic main couple, the secondary characters are all fantastic, adding layers of humor and heart to the story. Fans of Casella's previous works will be thrilled to see the return of the wonderfully eccentric Dottie, whose presence adds an extra sprinkle of joy to the narrative.
"Best Served Cold" promises a heartwarming tale of finding your voice, building unexpected friendships, and discovering true love in the most unlikely of places. If you love a good fake-dating trope, a heroine who rises from the ashes, and the sweet satisfaction of revenge, this rom-com is sure to hit all the right notes.

“A piece of kindness at the right time, in the right place, can change a life.”
Thanks to Hambright PR for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This is a revenge romance, and let me tell you that it was so fun. Sophie finds out her fiancé has been cheating on her with several women at breweries he distributes for. She’s of course devastated, but I really loved the trajectory this story took. In a twist she becomes friends with two of the other women and they become this great unit. In the midst of this, Sophie gets to know her estranged fiancé’s half-brother Rob.
I loved the relationship that develops between Sophie and Rob. Their chemistry is nearly immediate, but they start to fake date as revenge and to help Rob with his application to be a foster parent. Not only is the romance great, the supporting characters add so much to overall story. I loved meddling Dottie and Sophie’s cousin Otis who comes into his own in the background. Everything sets up this real community and the next books.
Sophie and Rob have open, vulnerable conversations with each other and it’s clear that they both needed someone to be comfortable with. She’s also reminded that she deserves to be happy and the journey unfolds in such a great way. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I mean, fake dating your cheating ex-fiancé’s brother? Pretty solid revenge move, especially when he turns out to be hotter and a genuinely great guy. This was such a fun read! I also love that Angela wrote two versions of the story, one spicy and one sweet, so there’s something for everyone. I went with the spicy version (because that's my preference), and I had a great time with it.
Finding out her fiancé was cheating, not just with one woman but three, actually ends up being the best thing that could have happened to Sophie. Not only does she avoid marrying a cheater, but she also realizes how much of herself she’s been holding back. She builds real friendships with the other women he wronged, and starts reconnecting with who she really is.
I especially loved watching her relationship with Rob develop. They both had the wrong idea about each other at first, but it was so satisfying to see them grow closer and bring out the best in one another. They just worked, and I was fully rooting for them by the end.

ONE SENTENCE SUMMARY After discovering her fiancé’s betrayal, Sophie teams up with his estranged brother Rob in a fake relationship turned delicious revenge plot, only to find herself falling for the one man she was never supposed to trust.
Thank you so much Angela Casella and Hambright PR I absolutely enjoyed this romcom . First time reading this author and cannot wait to read more . Sophie thought she was happy and engaged . One day when leaving the house , she took the wrong phone and ended up reading a text from another woman claiming to be gf and what her wonderful fiancé was hiding from her . I loved the whole revenge plot and how it was her ex boyfriend’s brother who helped her with the revenge . There were moments I laughed out loud . Such a fun read !
If you love these tropes , please give this book a go . 🍻 Ex's brother 💙 He falls first 🎻 Fake dating 👠 Dislike to love 🍻 Found family 💙 Revenge 🎻 Romcom
What do you do when you find out your fiancé has been cheating on you? Easy. You team up with the other girls to try to take him down. You know what? Why don't you try fake dating his brother? It's not like you'll really fall for him, right?
Of course, Angela Casella leads us through some hilariously ridiculous moments when these women team up. And of course, its a romance so there's a little bit of fire in there! I can't wait to see what's next for this series! I can't believe she's able to do so many spin-offs, but I hope she never stops.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a fun read about jilted lovers getting revenge on cheating partners. What better way to get revenge on a cheating fiancé than to start dating his brother?
Sophie finds out her fiancé is cheating on her right before their wedding, and while it hurts it’s a blessing in disguise. He’s not the one for her and she had to make herself small to be with him thinking that’s what was needed.
I was sold from the description, and I’m so glad I took the chance. This book seems to be the start of a spin off series where the girls who were involved with this cheating scum of a man end up getting their own HEAs. I think this was a good book to set the stage of things, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next books. I loved the found family dynamics in this book, and the overwhelming support from the secondary cast of characters. They make me want to live in a small town where everyone is involved.
When your fiancé accidentally leaves his phone at home and some messages come through that you aren’t supposed to see really set the tone. But not just from ONE other woman no. THREE!! Sophie and her cousin Otis are chillin in the kitchen when she receives these messages but what she doesn’t know is that her fiancé (well now ex) sent his brother to retrieve the phone and do his dirty work.
Ohhh but things go completely sideways when Rob does show up and learns the truth. Sophie goes to confront some of the girls and they end up becoming really good friends. Rob and Sophie hit it off and she learns that he is trying to become a foster parent so she helps him by being his fake girlfriend but that soon turns real. And well the rest is history!
This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was cool there were two versions of this book. A spicy and clean version! I thought that was an excellent touch! I can't wait for the next book!
