Hue Legacy #1

Windstorms Rage

Rate this book
My life has never been my own. From the moment I drew my first breath, I belonged to someone else. I have resented it and myself for as long as I can remember. That is until I met Creek. I would burn the world if it meant I could belong to him.

Everything that I have ever cared about has been ripped from my fingers. Will the universe give me a break? Will it let me have Creek or will he hurt me too?

Windstorms Rage is book one of the Hue Legacy Series and must be read in order. High angsty and trauma content, trigger warnings recommend and can be found at the beginning of the book. MM Romance, dual POV, hurt/comfort, found family, HEA.

Harlyn is 5 years old when it all starts. His mother is abusive and makes him⁰ steal for them whenever he can.
But as he gets older his mother has a little girl named Cami and Harlyn feels that he must take care of her and that he does.

As he gets older his mother's abuse gets worse and Harlyn is subjected to that every day.
He comes home one day and finds his sister and mother crying which is something she never does and that is when he notices the men in the room.

His mother however doesn't make it and that is when everything changes for Harlyn and his sister.

He leaves one Hell and ends up in another.

When he finally can leave that's when he meets Creek.
Harlyn gets a job at their family bar.
This is where the real story begins

This story was so well put together.
It has tragedy, hurt/comfort, bullying, betrayal, and so much more. This is my first read from this author and S. Salinas delivers.
Please make sure you read ALL the trigger warnings ⚠️. Because this book is loaded with them.

Can't wait to see what she has in store next..

I'm gonna figure out how to make you love my monster anyways.”

1st person POV Dual
Spice 3.5/5
Plot 5/5

This is a debut book?!! Freaking home run! so good! I was glued to this book, I cried, I laughed, I couldn't put it down! I cannot wait for the next book in the series, it will be an auto buy for me!

This book had so much depth to it! Harlyn is beyond messed up, horrible sh*t happens to his man that has turned him into just a cold blooded killer, yet he has this innocent side to him that makes you wanna wrap him in a blanket and hold him!

Creek has no idea how to handle Harlyn and does it all wrong!

I also was engrossed in the side story that was woven in this book, of Blithe and Ressyn, the beginning of their story has broken my heart and I can't wait for their book! I have to know how it ends!

so dark and full of triggers!

This was a dark, hard to at some points book. If you like dark and full of triggers and violence this is it!

Interested to read more about these brothers!

Hoo Boy!! Where do I begin with this one?

It's quite dark so be warned...there is graphic violence but no sexual abuse (thankfully).
Poor Harlyn is born into a life of misery; his only salvation is his sister.
He is forged into a monster but his heart remains pure.

Creek on the other hand pissed me off on so many occasions...I wanted to slap him.
He pushes Harlyn away so many times and is a real jerk about it. His devotion to his family clouds his judgement and he reacts without thinking. This almost leads him to ruin.

Their chemistry, however, is undeniable and scorching hot.

There were quite a few spelling mistakes, especially the possessive "s" rarely had apostrophes.
The names of the Hue family are quite unusual (some more than others) like: Jennix, Shaide, Ressyn and Beige.

I still have so many questions and I'm totally hooked on this series.

An unforgettable start to the Hue Legacy series!

Windstorms Rage completely blew me away from the first chapter. The world-building is rich and creative, the characters are complex and real, and the emotional moments hit hard. I loved how S. Salinas balanced action with heart — there’s so much depth behind every scene, and the pacing keeps you turning pages nonstop.

The main character’s journey feels both raw and empowering, and the mix of fantasy, emotion, and suspense makes this story stand out. It’s rare to find a book that keeps you thinking about it even after you’ve finished, but this one absolutely does.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the Hue Legacy series — this was a 10/10 read and a fantastic debut!

“His body molds to mine like clay. Like it’s been waiting to collide with mine his whole life and it lights me on fire.”

I was really looking forward to reading this book and let me tell you it did not disappoint!
It was dark, mafia vibes and MM - basically all my favorites 😉

Harlyn is this beautiful but tortured soul, he becomes obsessed with creek so fast which made some very unhinged, spicy and funny situations 👌🏻👌🏻
Their journey is full of growth and learning - its absolutely beautiful.

The book is very well written and well structured. The plot is great!! Got me hooked from page one!!

I absolutely recommend you read this book but also check the TW‼️

2,5 stars. This just wasn’t good. While the story captivated me in the beginning (and I somehow want to read the second book), the writing was just not good.
It was like something off of AO3. There were -a lot- of spelling errors and weird grammatical mistakes. And the storytelling was lacking.

The first half of the book was definitely better than the second half. Second half felt rushed. The main story lacked focus and depth and the spice took up too much space.

Wow!!! Once I started, I could not put it down.
LOTS of "stuff" happens (as i saw some put it) there's no other way to phrase it without spoilers, and i hate spoilers. But that said if you have triggers please read the warnings carefully before proceding.
It was so deliciously dark and twisted that I'm in love and disappointed I can't just start the next one.

Whoo. This book pulls you in and doesn't let you go at all. Creek and Harlyn are so good together. Harlyn broke my little black heart over and over and over again. He deserves the world. I wanted to wrap him in bubble wrap so no one could hurt him anymore. Even Creek himself. I wasn't sure how they were going to overcome the ending but so glad they did. Amazing story and I can't wait for what comes next!!
