Love In A Hopeless Place
Life has been everything but easy for Amaria Waters. When one down spiraling event after another leads to a betrayal she never saw coming, she is left out in this cold world which is no place for a little girl. Good story overall, but the wording became repetitive. I could go a long time without seeing “blew a raspberry,” “trekking,” or “guffawing” again.

THAT WAS A LOT
I LOVE BREA, BECAUSE IT USUALLY INTRODUCES ME TO AUTHORS I’VE EVER HEARD OF. THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE BOOKS AND ALTHOUGH IT NEEDED TO BE TWEAKED BY ANOTHER EDITOR (HENCE THE 4 ⭐️ RATING) IT WAS STILL A GOOD READ.
ALTHOUGH FROM HER LIL SLICK SHADY COMMENTS WHEN KINDA HAD AN IDEA ABOUT HOW CARMEN TRULY FELT ABOUT MARI. I WAS THANKFUL THE AUTHOR LET HER SPEAK AND BOY DID SHE. THE HATRED SHE HELD IN HER HEART FOR A WOMAN WHO WENT OUT OF HER WAY TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE GOOD, SPOKE LIFE INTO HER, LOVED HER, ETC😔🤬🤬🤬. I HAD NO REMORSE FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO HER CAUSE SHE WAS A CANCER

MUNNI & MARI❤️🔥! THESE TWO HAD SIMILAR CHILDHOODS ONE JUST SUFFERED MORE THAN THE OTHER. HE LEGIT SAVED HER LIFE THAT NIGHT AND SHE NEVER FORGOT HIM. THAT POOL PARTY BROUGHT THEM BACK IN EACH OTHERS ORBIT. MUNNI WAS SO INTENTIONAL IN HIS PURSUIT OF HER EVEN WHEN SHE WAS BEING CHILDISH ASF AND BOY WAS SHE CHILDISH 🙄. SHE HONESTLY IRKED MY NERVES WITH HER CHILDISH AZZ🙄. SHE GAVE MUNNI HELL BUT I LOVED HOW HE LOVED HER AND DIDN’T ALLOW HER CHILDISH WAYS TO PUSH HIM AWAY. I LOVED ME SOME MUNNI AND HIS GROWTH 🥰. Action,spice and all the things!
I stumbled upon this book during BRAE and I’m so happy I did. I’m a cover girlie, so that is what initially caught my eye. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. Finished in about 6 hours. This book has a lot of deep issues that may be a lot for some. It made for a great story though. I loved Mari and the life she had made for herself, though she made me so mad with her stubbornness at times. The characters had so much depth and layers to them in my opinion. I BOL everytime Munni, was crashing out about Mari. The fact that he was more than just a street dude was nice to see as well. The breaking down of ones personal walls, seeing a relationship based off genuine intentions, and showing partners listen and learn their counterpart was very refreshing. I can’t wait to read more of her catalog as this is one of my faves from this year. GO READ IT!!

This book starts off intense! There’s a lot to absorb, but TaJ masterfully lays the groundwork, building rich, compelling characters that pull you in. As the story unfolds, you’re immersed in their ongoing emotional battles, where trust is fragile and feelings run deep. The tension feels real, the connections feel earned, and by the end you’re fully invested. An overall powerful and rewarding read.

Mari has a bad life growing up but at the end it turns around for the better. This is one of the BEST BOOKS I’ve read this year!!! Y’all go read this book‼️

I love me some Marlon! Mari ass didn’t listen and got kidnapped because she’s hardheaded. Carmen didn’t deserve any loyalty and deserved to die so why you mad especially after you found the truth in her room

This was a well written story. I love how everything happened and I felt every emotion. I love their love story, the betrayal because of course it's something un avoidable.

tragedy to triumph

Blew a raspberry😐
This story was enjoyable overall. I appreciated how confidently Amaria and Marlon pursued what they wanted; their determination added strength to the story. The ending felt rushed, to me however, I found myself distracted by the repeated use of adults blowing raspberries. It appeared so frequently that it pulled me out of the story, and I’m not sure it created the effect the author intended.
