It was a good manhwa, although it had such a big slow burn. It was worth it in the end, but it could’ve easily been reduced to an easier reading experience. Loved it, and the art was so surreal.
Volume Two of Serena marks the beginning of Serena's true character growth. Traumatized by the loss of her parents and brother, Harpers, she has become anxious, sensitive, and unable to remember that her husband, Eiser, was once her first love. Despite her distrust, Eiser quietly protects her, defending her dignity whenever others underestimate her and gradually involving her in Serenity's affairs. Beneath his cold and intimidating exterior, he recognises Serena's potential long before she does.
As Serena takes on more responsibility at the hotel, she slowly regains her confidence and purpose. From handling public crises to negotiating business deals, she proves herself capable, compassionate, and surprisingly strategic. Through these experiences, she learns that business is not only about profit, but also about trust, relationships, and understanding people. Watching her reclaim Serenity's authority becomes one of the most satisfying parts of the volume.
At the same time, Eiser's own growth becomes evident. He shifts from being a distant husband to someone who respects Serena's voice, mentors her patiently, and supports her independence. Although both of them continue to hide their feelings behind towering pride, their slow-burn romance becomes increasingly irresistible. More than a love story, Volume Two is about healing, partnership, and two wounded people learning to trust each other enough to stand side by side.
