I thought this was an okay book, but I feel like there's a line where stalking and possessiveness become hard to read about, and this crossed that line. I was really irritated that even though Adrian was trying to get Sophia, he was still messing around with Mara, even at the end it was implied. This book just wasn't for me. Maybe someone else might enjoy this book more, but I found it really frustrating

Adrian has been watching Sophia for a couple of years and has finally decided to make a move on her. She is a struggling artist, and he uses that as leverage to make her dependent on him. He's a billionaire, so he's able to help her advance in her career. She thinks this is her big break and doesn't realize he's been stalking her.

Sophia can't resist Adrian's charm and feels pulled towards him, which leads to some spicy scenes.

The story was interesting; it held my attention, and I was curious to know where things were going, especially when Sophia started to wonder more about Adrian.

Adrian was very obsessed and possessive of Sophia, but it felt more in a controlling sort of way than romantic. He wouldn't let anyone near her and would unalive anyone who did (even though she wasn't aware), but he also slept with his secretary (throughout the book and even at the end, and Sophia wasn't aware of this either). Thinking of it as a psychological thriller and not as much of a romance, I really enjoyed the book!

Book 2 of this series was great (I'm going to read book 1 next), and I'm excited for the next one!

From the very first page of His Dark Desires by Serena Lust, I was completely hooked—and I didn’t even realize how deep I was falling until I was right there with Sophia, caught in Adrian Vale’s dangerous, magnetic orbit.

As someone who lives for dark, morally gray romances with characters who challenge your sense of right and wrong, this book checked every box. I felt Sophia’s hunger for something more—her loneliness, her artistic soul aching for purpose—and when Adrian offered her that “big break,” I could feel the pull just as much as she did.

Adrian isn’t just your average brooding billionaire. He’s a tech god—commanding a literal empire built on AI—but it’s his emotional complexity that really got under my skin. He’s cold, calculated, obsessively in control… but then those cracks appear. Moments of vulnerability. Pain buried so deep it made me ache. And that’s when I stopped trying to keep my heart out of it.

There’s a raw intensity between Sophia and Adrian that’s impossible to ignore. Every stolen glance, every heated touch, every twisted mind game had me holding my breath. It’s dark and it’s delicious—but it’s also surprisingly emotional. The questions Sophia asks—Can I fix him? Should I?—echoed in my own mind as I turned each page, helpless to stop.

OMG 😱 when I was reading this story I was excited another great forbidden love moment. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense and insane of course. I was on the verge of my seat as I couldn’t even imagine of put it down. It was addicted and captivating. I was hooked . Adrian has been looking at Sophia for a couple of years and he has finally made a decided to make a move on her right now . She was a struggling artist, and he uses that as leverage to make her dependent on him. He's a billionaire who had a lot of time on his hands. He was intrigued by her beauty and passions of art. This love romance was forbidden due to her lifestyle. Will he be able to help her out with her career and emotional wellbeing of development. Could this be true affection or even love with a mixture spicy chemistry and sexual desire as the physical relationship between them is as strong and the tension was on code red. One night with him will change her life forever.

Adrian has the world literally at his fingertips. The AI program he created can do anything, find and see everything with only a few words. His sights became set on Sophia and she became unknowingly caught in his web. Sophia’s life was manipulated strategically to insert her into his life and control all situations. This is a man you do not want to cross. He does show her how his obsession comes with dark and dirty benefits though. Adrian has a corrupted moral compass and Sophia is more ethics-based. These two do not see eye to eye, but the conflict only heats things between them more and more. I was cool with the ending except for his inability to be faithful, but a person can’t truly change their stripes sometimes….

Make no mistake, this book is dark and trigger heavy.
Heed the TWs.

Another expertly written book with a narcissistic MMC and a FMC that falls in his trap. The extremes he will go to to get her in his grasp and keep her there is unbelievable and truly Obsessive and Possessive to the core.
It is all about control, and he has to have it no matter what. The MMC is unredeemable and the FMC is trapped in Stockholm Syndrome.
The depth of the characters are great and even the side characters have an abusive dynamic.
This is narcissistic abuse through and through, giving a very realistic image of how reality gets distorted and those involve being sucked into a web they can not escape.
Read with caustion.

Uncertainty

This story was overall intriguing in its concept, and the stalking aspect was dark and, at times, bordered too far on crossing the line. However, the dynamic between Adrian and Sophia tampered it down just a little, which was a nice touch. I did not like that Adrian's decision about some people did not change. The end was more of a question of is there more to their story or not, which i would have liked to have an epilogue instead.

Dark and obsessive

The 3rd in the Dark series, though I haven't read the previous two.
Adrian is an IT mogul running the city through his systems. He's been betrayed before by someone he thought of as his brother and when Sophia catches his attention as a new artist, he follows her for two years before making his move to help her. But she doesn't want to compromise when it comes to her art, and Adrian isn't just protective, he's obsessively possessive, how will she feel when she find out?

This story takes you into the world of Adrian Vale a tech mogul who is a cross between obsessive and possessive when it comes to Sophia. He finally he has her in his grasp their journey begins. When it is all said and done will Sophie truly be Adrians. It is an intriguing story that had me guessing through it to see how it all ends.

Ummm. If you don’t like the MCs being with other people this isn’t the book for you.
Very fast paced.

Not sure how I feel about Mara and was confused by his “punishment” statement in the end…👀 I don’t like to think that’s still going on but he’s also a really bad guy soooooo
