The Blackbriar Devil: A Monster Romance

Rate this book
Feye finds herself ensnared in a life of relentless misery. At twenty, her parents have cruelly condemned her to marriage with a man twice her age, and infinitely darker in his cruelty.

Feye breaks free from her husband's clutches, escaping into the Blackbriar Woods. As dawn breaks, the sounds of Charles's furious pursuit grow nearer, his rage palpable through the trees.

In her frantic flight, Feye encounters Nox—a towering woodland monster with haunting black eyes and gnarled horns. Despite her fear, Feye sees him as her only chance of survival.

Barriers between human and monster blur. They find solace in each other's arms, two lost souls entwined where boundaries cease to exist.

Taking into consideration it's the first book the author wrote I enjoyed the short story. It has a quick start and it doesn't make you wait long before the fmc and Mac meet. I wished he didn't say I love you before they were intimate, it felt very insta love and that was about 50% into the book. Definitely needed more relationship development before the l love you came out. A few things were repetitive but I would recommend for someone who is starting out with fantasy monster romance.

I read this as an e-arc. This is this author’s first book and overall for a debut book it was written well. Will be reading her next books as well!
