Until I Get You

Murder brought them together; death can't keep them apart.

Penelope is mine.
I put a bullet in the woman who sold her like a piece of meat.
Saved her.
Freed her.
But freedom doesn’t mean safe.
She doesn’t know I’m still watching.
Following.
Keeping her untouched, untainted.
I should walk away, let her live the life she should have.
But I won’t.
Because she belongs to me.
She just doesn’t know it yet. I’ve been patient. Waiting for the right moment to take what’s mine.
But time’s running out.
Because death is coming for me. And if I can’t have her... no one will.

I reluctantly overlook some misspellings and misplaced or misused words in self-published novels. After all, this person is willing to put their writing out there; something which I would never attempt. But I do draw the line at blatant plot mistakes:

Hunter, chapter 2 - (speaking of Noah) He’s only twenty-three and has so much more to live for than I do.
The very next page - ...the fourteen year old I rescued years ago, not the twenty-nine-year old man he is today.

Aging six years in the blink of an eye? I don’t think so.

Will Hunter’s brother have nothing to do with him because Hunter was masquerading as Jamie when he killed people while rescuing Penelope? I assume this would be a black mark on Jamie’s record.

Penelope was 17 when rescued. Now she’s 22 and has been given a new identity (Hazel) I can’t tell if she was relocated or not but wonder that Hunter and Noah seem to be situated where she is. Earlier it was stated that they move around a lot so how does Hunter justify staying there, although it seems that Noah is well aware of Hunter’s obsession with Penelope. Also, are they rogue vigilantes or do they work for someone? (Jamie’s observation is that Hunter most likely considers himself FBI, CIA and the military all rolled into one)

I still don’t know why Hunter (first name Ruslan) is so fixated on Penelope but that will hopefully become clear eventually.

Totally unexpected development!

The editing and errors are getting worse as this book progresses, so much so that I’m giving up. The plot is still fairly interesting but so disjointed that it’s more irritating than compelling. I may come back to this some day but today is not the day.

I didn’t finish this book. I thought it would have been better than what it was. There are way too many gaps and so many typos it’s hard to follow and figure out what’s supposed to be said. Half of the chapters are in bold.

Props to the author for writing something but maybe don’t quit your day job cause this was just awful
