Jack and I borrowed this book from the library because he is currently obsessed with the Grumpy Monkey series. He thought it was hilarious how Jim and Warthog fought over the banana, and really loved the surprise ending with the worm. But I think his favorite part is how all the Grumpy Monkey board books have the emotions and Jim faces at the end. He loves making the silly face.

September 16, 2025I've been feeling very frustrated about the Grumpy Monkey series for a while. The first one was such a revelation, and every subsequent book has felt like a cash grab. This is the first book in a while that I felt was a worthy sequel - and my only "complaint" is the length (though that makes sense for a board book).
