A succession of fights in a spoiler thing. It could be tiresome but: 1- the fights are always of an unthinkable power and ferocity that leave me breathless. Graphically it's a killer! 2- Riyo's past is revealed. She wasn't a hairdresser in her old life. 3- Rudo learns more about his gloves thanks to Zodyl. But this opens the door to another mystery 4- The revelation of the location of the fights is a good cliffhanger.
In short, the action doesn't seem to be moving forward much, but in the end it is. Progress is admittedly slow, but in my view this is more than made up for by the graphic universe developed.
Il primo incontro tra Enjin e Zanka rimane ancora oggi uno dei miei momenti preferiti della serie + Riyo in questo volume ha spaccato di brutto e l'ho semplicemente adorata.
I was not expecting the Riyo backstory in this volume 😨 Baby girl really said: I’m getting tired of this fight dragging on. Meet my lil friend ✨🔫
I’m truly left speechless. It reinforces my love of Riyo, tho. Enjin gave her a new purpose in life, and she’s mostly tried to live by the ideals and goals he’s set for her. But she really said, fine 🙄 I won’t kill these bastards because I promised Enjin, but he didn’t say anything about shooting people in general 🤷🏻♀️ Cause the way both Jabber and Noerde recibieron plomo 💀 Riyo slayed, I fear.
Anyway ✨
It was interesting to see how Zanka ended up with his staff and how he met Enjin 🤔 Enjin truly loves to find himself a kid down in the dumps (physically and metaphorically) and giving them some inspiration to try something else 😂 I love it honestly.
Lastly, I was not expecting Zodyl to have brought all of them inside a trash beast tho 💀 I understand his vision, and in a way can even respect it, but it’s absolutely deranged. I hate his insinuation, though, that there’s something wrong with my baby boy Rudo which is why he’s been able to tolerate using a vital instrument of the “watchman series.”
I'm kinda conflicted. The fights were cool...to an extent, I was hoping for some better wins this time around. To be honest, the Raiders and their boss Zodyl don't really seem all that bad? Like, not as villainous and evil as some other people we've seen (ahem, Amo's abuser and some Sphereites). Still, I'm so invested in the plot and I'm loving where the characters have found themselves (hehe, some of Enjin's expressions expressions had me cackling when he got told). Still, the next volume will hopefully begin to give the Cleaner's some benefits and answers, as well as bringing them all together again soon.
Ok, I'm going to review this volume since this is the latest to be published in English. I've spent the last two days reading it online because I was impatient. Now I'm caught up and impatiently waiting for next week's chapter (I'm suffering).
This is my favorite manga/anime out right now. The art style and magic system is super unique and imaginative. In my opinion, it balances humor with emotion nicely - one second I'm laughing out loud and the next I'm devastated over a character backstory or monologue. I like all the characters, even the antagonists and mysterious ones. There's still a lot of questions yet to be answered, but I'm excited for where it goes.
Riyo vs. Noerde is the best fight in the whole of Gachiakuta thus far! Riyo was already my favourite character and there’s a reveal about her in this Vol. that makes her even better.
The climax of Zanka’s backstory is very satisfying.
The back end of this volume has some major revelations for the plot going forward.
GLOCK??? RIYO WITH THE FUCKING GLOCK. no way. straight hands to no more fucking around ugh i LOVE HER and idk i guess lore with zodyl and the series and shit
some of the comedy in this series is top notch lmao. Just had me laughing out loud. the facial expressions, them all going 'what?! seeeeriously?!' hahaha. I saw this in the anime (finally caught up so im onto all new material yay) but the way the Urana draws his characters facial expressions kills me. his combat style is just so damn fluid and easy to follow, I love it. I stand by what I said over on twitter. I think this may be the most stylish animanga ive experienced to date, and will be one of the new big boys of the medium now that jjk/mha/demon slayer are done.
This series is an interesting one. It's not one of my favorites, but it's not bad. In this volume, the various battles have continued. In some, our Cleaners have come out on top. In others, not so much. We learned something interesting about Rudo's gloves. And we also got to learn more about Zodyl's motivation and plans. It looks like the next volume is on-order at my local library. I've put myself on the waitlist.
Part of this volume is that one old clip from Indiana Jones, I believe, where one dude whips out a sword or whip and flings it around a lot, but then Indy just pulls out a gun, shoots the guy and moves on. That said, Riyo is wild as a character, but I kind of expected it based on her inistence on being so happy all the time.
If I was ever going to give any volume a 5 star review it would always be Volume 8. Riyo's past is way darker than what I could've ever imagined, her fight against Noerde was epic. Riyo's become one of my favorite characters in this series, I love her beyond words, she's so cool and weird. Oh también nos cuentan sobre la serie vigilante y su importancia. Pd. Engine my beloved. LOLL
its just so peak... the costume designs are cool as fuck, the worldbuilding is AWESOME, the plot is impeccable, the characters are incredibly well rounded and realistic and hot (riyo has a gun and kills people I LOVE IT) its just too good i cant i love this so much
