This is third in a series and characters from the previous books are a strong presence. You don't have to read them in order as most of the action happens separate from those characters. But I recommend doing so anyway.
I had no idea how much I'd fall for Tyler coming from the previous book where he's kind of window dressing. His dilemma is engaging having worked for/with his best friend Isaac since they were sixteen, falling into the videographer role, having tons of experience but no actual training—and wondering what he wants his life to look like if he actually took an active stance instead of just following along with the opportunity that fell into his lap at such a young age. I loved this aspect of his character and the search for who he wants to be.
Liv was less engaging and I struggled to understand why. In a complete opposite from Tyler, she knows exactly what she wants and gained the business degree(s) to do it well; only to be thwarted in the final stretch by her father changing his mind. So she spends the entire story in an angsty fugue state holding herself in stasis trying to be some ideal based on assumption and supposition for why her father would change his mind.
And this is a fundamental structural error in the story and it influences everything I disliked about it. Liv supposedly has an outstanding relationship with her father. He has encouraged her all her life to step into his shoes one day. So him choosing her older brother to run things last minute is a betrayal she feels keenly. Only. Not so keenly that she can talk to him about it? He's not dead, just struggling with the aftereffects of a stroke. The entire story can only happen because she's pushing Tyler off while trying to be the good(boring)-girl she assumes he wants from her. But she never asks and it's fairly clear that more is going on there given a loving father who had been clearly delighted in the past for her to take his place one day.
The thing is, Tyler and Liv are so clearly right for each other, with scorching chemistry and an obviously deep connection. And this is only underscored as Tyler throws himself into the destination farm she loves and finds himself falling for the place as much as she has. They're clearly soul-mates is what I'm saying so having Liv choose this nonsensical path to solve her greatest dilemma is a burden the story can't sustain. I got impatient with her inability to confront her father by the first time it comes up and that only grows over time as we get zero movement on that front, forcing Sarah to be tease-girl giving in to their chemistry at times, but always reverting to shame and self-abnegation. Which is not a good look for anyone.
The eventual resolution was very touching and Proctor wrings some great emotional catharsis once the conversation is had. And the scenes immediately leading to that climax were even better with Tyler showing great insight and giving Liv the kind of support she desperately needed but without substituting his own strengths to override her needed growth. It was very touchingly done and further cemented how strong their eventual relationship will be. And ensconcing Tyler as one of my very favorite book boyfriends along the way.
It's really too bad that this structural defect (putting all the weight of their conflict on something that shouldn't have taken so long to resolve) lay at the heart of the story. I don't know what other conflict could have been given to make this the story Proctor wanted, but it definitely needed something. Liv in stasis for so long makes her weak and seeing that jerk Tyler around was painful. This only avoided a dnf (and nasty rant) by Tyler being outstanding and Proctor redeeming the angst with a layered climax that hit all the right notes. So this is a beleaguered three stars it only potentially deserves.
A note about Chaste: There is lots of kissing in this one. Neither character is geared towards one-night stands, though, and Liv spends the entire story turning herself into a pretzel trying to fit the good-girl ideal she has built up in her head as the solution to her family problems. So there's no sex and I consider this pretty chaste.

You.Need.This.Book!!
Yess, This is such a great read and a huge grin pulling book😁😁
I loved every bit of it!!
The characters, the depth, the farm, baby goats, country life, feeling lost, finding ourselves, family, farm, love, friends, steamy kisses...I enjoyed reading about everything.
It's so well written.
I never felt so Seen..how Olivia feels her own family is downsizing her(especially her Dad home she adores and loves the most) and feeling the need to prove and fight her light of enthusiasm as being labeled irresponsible/ typical!
::( I got her..her emotions felt so genuine maybe because I feel the same with my life a Lil bit !)

To be honest, I didn't know what I'll be seeing in this book and if would enjoy it all. I started it and couldn't stop reading
I was pulled into it and so invested.
I loved how they both felt seen and right with each other.
From the moment they met..they felt seen & understood by each other!
That's a point I liked...it was abt feelings, the presence of a person, and not just physical attraction.
Tyler's the book boyfriend you want to grab
I liked how he's honest and close to his sister.
I think of the courage Tyler portrayed..trying to find himself and being honest & open
The farm life was brought to life and it's so fun, blissful, and entertaining to read about..especially all the fun with baby goats, chicken coop, and Tyler 😁
I genuinely enjoyed myself while reading this book( this is what reminds me why books are so special. )
💚This is my first book reading from this series but it had little snippets of the Last 2 books characters which I'm now soo interested in.. I'll be binge-reading them both 😂
You'll not regret buying this..besides you don't want to miss baby goats and Hawthorne farm fun

Stonebrook Farm, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, was the most picturesque setting!
Olivia has her heart set on taking over the family farm, leaving zero room for distractions ... especially a distraction like Tyler Marino. After a recent whirlwind connection at a wedding, the two part ways only to have Tyler unexpectedly take a position as a farmhand. And cue the adorable baby goats!
Olivia had a strong commitment to her family and farm, making her extremely resistant to love. I desperately wanted to push her HARD in the direction of Tyler, but I really felt her agony of proving herself as a businesswoman to her father, who is recovering from a stroke. I'm thrilled her brothers are receiving a spin-off series. I loved this family!
Tyler was so supportive, always reminding Olivia of her passion and creativity. And I really admired him searching for his own happiness outside his already successful career. I'm a sucker for a small-town setting and this hit the spot perfectly!

This book sucked me in so hard with the meet-cute and instant attraction between Olivia and Tyler. I loved so much that they couldn't get enough of the other and the chemistry was so great.
And then the brakes were pumped hard. I generally like when there is a constant progression in the relationship in a romance. It can be slow, it can be fast, but I enjoy the overall build-up. I didn't see that here. It was mildly frustrating and Olivia's reasoning for her hot-and-cold attitude with Tyler didn't quite work for me.
What did work for me is Tyler. His character and ambition was something I could get behind. And Penelope? So cute.
The introduction to book four with Tyler's sister is one I'm looking forward to. I love a good enemies-to-lovers and her disdain is already making me smile.

Olivia and Tyler are both loveable, they don't drop what they love for another person but they find in the end a way to be together and follow their dreams.

There's just something about baby goats and farm romcoms that deliver on all the feels!

Okay, I read these books. I meet these characters and by the time I'm about half way through, I am invested. They are my friends and I want them to be happy. So when things go sideways, my heart hurts for my new favorite people. I know it's weird but I have a big heart. And I feel like you are my people and will understand.
This book. Friends. I adore it. It's my favorite read of the month. I've read some good ones but this one. All the good things. I got to see Isaac and Rosie and Dani and Alex again. There is a wedding right off the bat which are always fun. There's soap making which on the one hand, isn't that romantic but on the other, read this book (Also, read Shine and Shimmer by Shari Tapscott 😍)
I also love family books. Her brothers play a big role and his sister does as well. Her mom is so good. But really, as a mom, I love when parents matter in people's stories. I want to matter in my kids stories, ya know?
Also, is this book the start of the Stonebrook series? (As I'm typing this, I'm vaguely remembering an email asking for series names... is that this series??)
*Quick side note: If you know anything about Jenny's books, you know how important it is to her to include LGBTQ+ representation in her books. If that bothers you, this book isn't for you. There is a gay couple getting married in this book, they play an important role but you never see any romance or anything between them. They are great secondary characters. Just wanted to let you know. It obviously doesn't bother me because I love this book. That is all.

I guarantee if I told Jake I wanted a goat, he'd be confused and say, like to eat? 🤣) side note: I asked. He said but we just got rid of all our grass. What would it eat? Also, does the HOA allow goats? 🤣
- oh gosh. Pigs flying. So good.
- I'm so happy right now. It is such a beautiful happily ever after.
- there's an epilogue. I love those.

I read Jenny Proctor's "Love Off-Limits" on Wednesday, and it's been difficult to pick anything else up. I'm still a little book-hungover. It was such a SWEET, perfect, lovely rom-com filled with baby goats and men taking shirts off to keep said baby goats warm and dry!!!
This book was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. I laughed so much, and then I cried a few times. And because I know the author, I messaged her in the middle of it to both gush and rant. :-) Jenny Proctor is amazing, and she does such FUN things with her characters and storylines.
Olivia "Liv" is a total BOSS babe. And I love this about her (she's our heroine) because she OWNS that she's good at this. There's no apology, but also no arrogance. Women bosses sometimes get a bad rap in romcoms. NEVER in Jenny's books. Then there's Tyler - he's adorable, super manly, and super humble. I love him. I love how he takes a step back from the life he's always known and then rolls with the punches, even accepting a position waaaay lower on the ladder than he's used to having.
You just need this book in your life.
ONE small thing. Jenny has received some flack for having a wedding in this book that takes place between *le gasp* two men. I have no idea why. There's no agenda to this book. Her characters are all just people, living their lives, being amazing. These characters appear toward the end of the book. They are nothing but kind, good human beings. I found them absolutely realistic and perfectly lovely characters. So if you can't handle that in a book, maybe not for you. But...dude, you're missing out!

Olivia and Tyler meet when her former roommate marries his best friend, and they're paired up in the wedding party. They flirt at the wedding reception, then share an amazing night talking, star-gazing, and sharing breathtaking kisses before returning to their separate lives. That is, until Tyler quits his job at Random I and shows up at Olivia's family's business in North Carolina. He's hired as a summer ranch hand and because Olivia is trying to prove to her father and older brother that she's responsible enough to run the family's business Tyler is definitely off-limits!! “Tyler Marino was off-limits. He had to be. But I didn’t want him to be. And that had never been so clear.”
Wow, Olivia fights her attraction to Tyler with everything she's got. She's trying to prove to her family she should be running the family business, not her brother. I liked Olivia and was so happy when she called her brother out for being rude and condescending to her. I liked her heart-to-heart talk with her mom while making soap.
Tyler is a great character--he was willing to risk leaving a safe well-paying job to figure how what he really wanted to do. It was fun watching him take care of Penelope and learn how to do ranch chores. I liked that he was willing to give Olivia time to figure out what she wanted and how sweet was it for him to make that video for her. That was a super swoony moment for me.
I like that we get Olivia and Tyler's POV in the story. I can't wait to read the next book in this delightful series. There's mild language and a gay marriage takes place. Nothing major but it does play into Tyler's part of the story.

Wow, Olivia fights her attraction to Tyler with everything she's got. She's trying to prove to her family she should be running the family business, not her brother. I liked Olivia and was so happy when she called her brother out for being rude and condescending to her. I liked her heart-to-heart talk with her mom while making soap.

I was in the midst of trying to find a sweet romance to read in-between some fantasies and this one delivered!! Adored and read it in a day.
It was incredible that I found myself enjoying an insta-connection. That’s generally not my favorite trope, but the writing had me drawn in from the get-go. I really liked Tyler and Olivia. Fantastic chemistry and swoony kisses.
The setting was fun. I love a good farm background and this place sounded absolutely gorgeous. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the antics like chasing chickens and falling into manure. The comedic humor was on point and the ADORABLE GOAT? Oh my goodness, heart eyes.
I didn’t necessarily see this as a forbidden romance? It didn’t have the sense that they actually couldn’t be together. Besides that, no complaints. It was everything I was looking for and made me want to continue the series.

This book totally made up for the chemistry and sizzle that was missing in book 2 of the series. I'm not normally crazy about love at first sight/insta-love storylines, but Olivia and Tyler made it work. Their flirting in the first chapters was so cute, and their kisses were so steamy. Plus, the book did a nice job of slowing things down for a few chapters as they went back to their normal lives after the wedding and reminisced about the short time they spent together. Once Tyler got to Stonebrook, Olivia's family farm, we got some exceptionally swoony moments with him. I mean, a shirtless man holding a baby goat is definitely something I think anyone can get on board with 😉. The setting of Stonebrook was amazing, and I wish I could visit for real to see the mountain views, orchards, and the aforementioned baby goats. I did have a few moments where I wanted to grab Olivia and tell her to just stop overthinking her job situation and go all in with Tyler, but I also loved that her indecisive nature allowed us to see how patient and understanding Tyler was during moments that were really frustrating. I'm telling you, this man was top tier book boyfriend material! I still think books 1&4 of the series were my favorites, but this one is so close behind. I can't wait to see what's next from Jenny Proctor!

I love a good rom com! And Jenny Proctor writes some great ones. It was fun to see characters from her previous books. And the characters in this one were fantastic too. And the baby goats!!! This book made me smile so much.
Olivia is the main female lead. I loved the way that she and Tyler met at a wedding and just hit it off. But their lives were not going to align at that time. So after an amazing night they went their separate ways. Both thinking of the other. I loved how Tyler called her Liv, so that’s what I’ll call her. Liv lived on this amazing family farm. I want to go visit it now. For sure! She was a strong character and knew what she wanted. So it was hard for her when things weren’t working the way she wanted them to.

Having just read Love Unexpected, I expected a lot more of this book. The characters are boring. Especially Olivia. I don't understand most of her character arc, as her problems could've been solved a lot faster if she had just listened to everyones advice.
Also, her and Tyler don't show that much chemistry, we just have to believe they do. He has abs and likes baby goats, can work a camera, but except for the one! night they spent together what else is there? She doesn't even listen to his advice most of the time.
He runs after her to try and find himself but gets turned down. They almost get together later on and he gets turned down again. And then he comes to the ridiculous conclusion he is in love? Sorry not sorry, but nothing about this love story made sense to me.
It was hard for me to get through this book, especially compared to how much I enjoyed it's predecessor.

The third book in the Some Kind of Love Series is so cute!! Any book with “shirtless men and baby farm animals” would have to be! I loved the scene with Tyler and the chickens, too! I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll leave it at that. I have loved each book in this series, but Tyler and Olivia might be my favorite. It might be too close to call though. Sounds like it’s time to reread them so I can be sure! 😉

4.5 Stars: This book was everything that I love about romcoms! Jenny does such an amazing job developing characters with crackling chemistry that you root for from page one and her style of humor is so entertaining and has me smiling all the way through!

Lovely sweet heartfelt romance. Had some fun moments of comedy, some honest heartfelt reflections, and my favorite thing of all, two honest hearts finding each other!
Cute setting, and Olivia's efforts to run her family farm and event center and succeed, were so fun to read and watch as Tyler worked on the farm too. I love Tyler and Olivia and the whole Hawthorne bunch! The setting of Stonebrook farm is so picturesque and made for so many fun scenes. Give me all the baby goats being snuggled by handsome Tyler!
I just reread via audio and thought the narration was fantastic and loved experiencing it all over again. Especially now that I know the Hawthorne brothers even better from their own books.
I highly recommend this series!

Fun, cute, clean romance!! I love the humor and the banter back-and-forth between the main characters throughout the book. I loved the development of their relationship. I worried a little bit that it would be a bit superficial, but the characters both stood by what was important to them for their careers and their families while also finding a way to make their relationship work with those things. The goats were a fun addition to the story. I really enjoyed the farm setting, as well as the wedding where they met and then the Carolinas, where I've never been and now really need to go, if only to pretend I get to visit Stonebrook and see Penelope and buy Mrs. Hawthorne's citrus and pine goat milk soap and eat the farm-to-table food! This is the first book I've read in this series, and there were several references to characters from the previous two books, so it is probably best to read them in order, but I was lucky enough to score an ARC from the author, so I wasn't about to turn that down without reading the first two books! This book does stand alone well on its own, but it probably is nice for some of Tyler's background to have at least read Isaac's love story. I look forward to getting my hands on the previous books in this series and the (at least so far-planned) book that comes after this in the series. Again, a fun, clean, contemporary rom-com. I worried it might be too cheesy or predictable, but it wasn't at all! There is LBGTQ+ representation. I realize some people have had "issues" with the "clean" classification of this book for that reason, but I believe it represents society as it is today and adds to the story of how Tyler finds his new job. Again, cute goats, cute romance, excellent humor, overall a fun story!

What a delightful story! I feel like the books in this series just get better and better. This is book 3 in the series and so far it’s my absolute favorite.
Two words: Tyler. Marino. What a book boyfriend. I absolutely adored him. He was wonderful. He was absolutely perfect for Olivia. I loved how he truly saw her and he challenged her. He asked her tough questions that weren’t out of line, but caused her to truly confront some hard truths and evaluate her thoughts and actions and I think we all need someone in our lives who asks us the tough questions. I thought Tyler was phenomenal and I enjoyed getting to read his story. Reading the first two books I was so unsure of how he was going to end up on a farm, but I think his story is something a lot of people can relate to.
I really enjoyed Olivia’s character also. Olivia had so much on her plate. As the youngest of five kids and the only girl, she felt she had a lot to prove and I feel like that is so normal of younger siblings, especially girls. She had big dreams and huge passions and I loved how much she cared about her family farm and the potential she saw in it. I was also super proud of her for coming to her own realizations about her hopes and dreams. While it did take her a while to have some much needed conversations, I could totally see her reasons for reluctance. The fear of rejection, especially regarding something you are so passionate about, can lead all of us to avoidance. But I was glad she was brave and honest in the end.
This book also made me even more excited to start the How to Kiss a Hawthorne Brother series that follows Olivia’s four older brothers. Jenny Proctor is quickly becoming an auto buy author of mine and I can’t wait to dive into more of her backlist.

I continued directly into Love Off-Limit after Love Unexpected, because I enjoyed that book very much; and this book features a side character from that book. It turns out, I’m only half glad I did continue because that side character, Tyler, is adorable and regardless of everything else, I really wanted to see his story play out and for him to find love and happiness.
However, I’m half not glad because the female love interest, Olivia, does that annoying thing where she just needed to have a frakkin’ 15-minute conversation with someone, but keeps making excuses not to until the very end of the book.
You end up with the situation where you’re rooting for one character to find happiness, while rooting for the other character to just get over themselves so the “I love yous” can be declared and the HEA can begin. And Tyler is so awesome that like the reader, he knows Olivia just needs to have that 15-minute conversation with her dad and he gives her the time and space to do so, which makes the “almost too late” dénouement feel forced and contrived.
Probably the only saving grace is that the romance between Tyler and Liv is scorching wonderful, which made for a great love story wrap-up. It’s just the getting there that was a little too clanky to fully enjoy.

I've had this book on my TBR since I read the first of the Hawthorne brothers' series. It was so fun to get Olivia's story and see where Stonebrook Farm had been before her ideas turned it into what it was in the spin-off series.
This was cute! Tyler and Olivia hit it off immediately; I was so surprised when their first kiss happened not even 10% into the story! But then, life. It happens, as it so often does and our two main characters are separated. After a little while, they are in close proximity again but this time, Olivia's saying there can't be any relationship because they're both working at the farm.
I got a little frustrated with Olivia's continual procrastination of having a conversation with her dad. I've had this book on my TBR since I read the first of the Hawthorne brothers' series. It was so fun to get Olivia's story and see where Stonebrook Farm had been before her ideas turned it into what it was in the spin-off series.
This was cute! Tyler and Olivia hit it off immediately; I was so surprised when their first kiss happened not even 10% into the story! But then, life. It happens, as it so often does and our two main characters are separated. After a little while, they are in close proximity again but this time, Olivia's saying there can't be any relationship because they're both working at the farm.
I got a little frustrated with Olivia's continual procrastination of having a conversation with her dad. I enjoyed this rom com read! Love is at the bottom of Olivia's list. At the top? Proving herself to her family, hoping to be trusted and placed in charge at her family's farm. Tyler makes his living as a cameraman for a popular Youtube star, who is also his best friend. Lately, though, he is feeling restless, and like maybe there is something else out there for him, if he takes a risk and jumps. Tyler and Olivia don't count on meeting each other at a friends wedding, and having an instant connection. When they have to return to their lives, neither one knows the impact they will have on each other.
Tyler is a wonderful character. I loved seeing how loyal he is, how caring; and how he navigated difficulties with honesty and hard work. I also loved Olivia's relationship with her family, as difficult as it was at times. It felt authentic, and her wanting to care for her family, and do what was best for them, while also wanting to chase dreams she had for their family's farm was endearing. I also enjoyed the author's writing style. I laughed out loud a couple of times, and loved how the characters evolved. I received a review e-ARC of this book. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.

THIS ONE WAS ACTUALLY SO CUTE!!! I read all the Hawthorne Brothers books like two years ago, or something, and enjoyed them all—some more than others. By the time you get through four books that are basically following the exact same structure, it definitely gets a bit repetitive; which is why I’m so glad I didn’t read this one (which is about their sister and actually set before any of the brothers books) until so long after. It was adorable, funny, and just an overall great time~
My only ‘critiques’ with it, is that I feel like Olivia’s main character conflict could have been solved quicker, and dragging it out effected my overall opinion of her. I still think she’s a great FMC though. (spoiler!) Also, I think this author feels like every book needs a final chapter\epilogue where the characters are married with a kid on the way…and It just kind of feels very rushed and unnecessary TO ME! That’s just a personal preference though.

I read two of the Hawthorne-brother books before I read this one. I like them much better. At the same time, I appreciate knowing Olivia's story. I'm just glad I didn't read it first, or I wouldn't have read the others.
