This book is not united by topic, but by genre. The subjects are scattershot—birth control, postmoderism, Federal Vision, natural law . . . you name it—but each is distilled into a concise list (7 theses on this, 21 principles for that) or pithy summary (affirmations and denials or Q’s and A’s on a theme).
The selections fall under five theology, personal ethics, culture and politics, collaborative work (consensus documents drafted by the author and released as statements by groups or institutions), and catechisms. Readers may want to peruse the whole book or cherry-pick issues of interest or just have this book on your shelf as a reference.
Sometimes I forget to review books I edited when they finally get published a while later. So here’s a retroactive review from December. Very listy. So not much in the way of plot and character development. Unless, perhaps, it developed my character a bit by way of trial: I'd edited it while I was out of town in October, and then lost the entire book...the entire fat book...because of the evil way it synced when I was back in WiFiland. It was not a happy time. So I reread and reedited the whole thing (for free, because charging twice for my own stupidity would have been no bueno). I will, however, be happy to accept any and all expressions of pity as compensation for my loss.
