I write on trains, planes, lying on the beach and have even given up watching TV soaps to concentrate on the creation of my own worlds. Writing is like an addiction to a drug that I can’t resist. Yes, my name is Lesley James and I’m a writerholic.
I first had the Blueprint idea in 2012 while on holiday and watching all the women lying round the pool reading a certain bestselling erotic novel and thinking to myself that it was a shame that their partners were missing out on it. Since then I have concentrated on the research and creation of these twin novels.
When not writing, I draw, bake chocolate cake and act as an unpaid chauffeur, chef and party planner to a teenager.

I cannot review these books separately because I read them both. What I will try to do is review them as if they were one book.
This author has created something quite unique. Her books can be read separately, by couples or by the same person. If read by a couple I believe they will allow both parties to read the same story, but from the perspectives they can relate to better. If read by an individual they will give different perspectives of the same story, giving a better understanding of the situations they don’t know about from reading the first book.
Lizzy is a strong character, a businesswoman with a very successful, profitable company. She is known for the good work she does. That good work brings her to the attention of Edward.
Edward is a strong character also, a businessman with an equally successful company. He is known for being opinionated, but fair with it. His extremely direct approach immediately rubs Lizzy up the wrong way.
I loved how straight talking Edward is in these books. He knows what he wants and he goes for it, regardless of who he rubs up the wrong way in the process. He has a strange way of doing things at times, and can appear to be two different people in the same body almost.
Lizzy has a past to deal with which is difficult as she keeps getting reminders of it. Can she leave that past behind and be what Edward wants her to be?
It is difficult to say too much about these stories without giving too much away. What I will say is that the storylines are hot, there is a good story throughout, and the ending! Well I honestly didn’t see the ending coming. It made me want to totally reread the story again to see exactly what I had missed! Be warned, you will be desperate to know more!
I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next.

BLUEPRINT LIZZY …. BLUEPRINT EDWARD
Lesley James! You have created something very unique. You’ve created a groundbreaking way to tell a well-crafted story from two perspectives in two books. These books were originally created for couples to read together, but anyone one can read both books. And that idea alone got me hooked. I knew before reading these awesome books that I could not review them individually. Both stories are very insightful you got to understand each character struggle different. I just wish I had started from Edwards’s point of view.
“…men think, and women feel”
Who are they?
Elizabeth “Lizzy” George
- is a strong woman businesswoman with a very successful company “EG Associate”. She’s very loyal to those she loves. She’s passionate about art. But just like most women she has dealt with lost and heartbreaks one too many.
Edward “Wanker” FitzWilliam
- is a strong character , might come across as egotistical (a cocky little thing), all alpha male, gorgeous (and he knows it), control freak (but which alpha male isn’t), ex-military, OOH! Did I mention very, very successful! He’s also a very shrewd businessman that speaks what comes to his mind (and he has no filter). But he also had he share of heartbreaks and users. His extremely direct approach immediately rubs Lizzy up the wrong way.
At the beginning each book Edward comes across as arrogant (I mean he feels like he’s entitle to it) but he is more than all of that. When more is revealed about him, you realize he really misunderstood. He’s the type of person that will have you laughing, crying, and wanting to smack him right after. He makes no apologies for how he is and his arrogance/confidence come across as devastatingly sexy. His character seemed superficial at first but then has a rather complexity that adds to his story. It is difficult to say too much about these stories without giving too much away. Lizzy on the other hand just basically don’t want to be where she was two years ago.
This story has a lot going on but nevertheless you can always keep on up with what’s going on. A lot of drama, action, hot lusty steamy sex. And I mean a lot of it. A lot of twist and turns. The more you read the more you are like OMG!!! It will leave you wanting more, always! I think I’ve given away too much to the story line but what can I say... these are really, really awesome books.
Lesley James has really out done herself with her debuts. Flawless writing and brilliant dialogue between characters. Even though both stories are somewhat similar it feels like you are reading a brand new book rather than a re-telling of this one. Total five stars from me.

Lesley James's debut books are magnificent. She has constructed and crafted a really innovative way to tell the same story but from two different perspectives and in two different books Blueprint Lizzy and Blueprint Edward. Ingenious if you ask me. So many books nowadays are releasing the male's P.O.V months after the original book because so many readers have requested it. In the Blueprints Lesley has given us instant gratification with both sides released simultaneously.
I decided to start Edward's tale first as in his book we delve into the murky inner-working's and often inappropriate thoughts and musings of the male psyche...
At the beginning of his book Edward comes across as egotistical and a bit of a chauvinistic man-whore. He's former military turned business man, sexy-as-sin, super-successful and very wealthy so why shouldn't he be all of that and more. The thing is his character is more than all of that. When we dig beneath the surface to how he thinks and why I started to understand him more. I wanted to understand him even more. He certainly had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion as the man clearly has no mind to mouth filter that lands him in some trouble. He makes no apologies for how he is and his arrogance/confidence come across as devastatingly sexy. His character seemed superficial and one dimensional at the beginning but as I read on Edward has a rather complex and multi-layered personality which certainly adds to the story and you comprehend just why Lizzy fell for him. His character transforms before your eyes, growing and learning how to handle these 'feelings' he has for our heroine and how to navigate through these new emotions he finds himself experiencing but never having a label for what they actually are.
The story itself has a lot going on, not in a too much I can't keep-up kinda way more like oh my gawd what's going to happen next kinda way. There's drama galore, angst aplenty and lots of hot hot sex just how I like my N.A's. I can't really discuss too much of the storyline without disclosing spoilers and trust me you want to read these books spoiler free! And watch out for the ending...Amazing!
Lesley James is really very good at what she does. She uses her words as exceptional tools to make you feel, she keeps the momentum going and the super hot sexy scenes in good supply so you're never left lacking in the entertainment department. The writing is flawless and moves at a good pace with some brilliant dialogue between character's.
I'm now going off to read it all from Lizzy's P.O.V and I have a feeling it will be like reading a brand new book rather than a re-telling of this one. Total five stars from me.

This book was almost entirely a repeat of Blueprint Lizzy. Very tiresome and boring to read the same dialog and scenes. This should have been 1 dual POV book. There were A LOT of typos which I find makes it hard to read a book. I understand that the author is British but Edward is supposed to be American. He speaks like he is British and that really irritated me. Also, there is a big cliffhanger at the end. I wish authors would be up front about there being another book coming. It won't stop me from purchasing and reading their book but I will usually wait until I can read them all together to get the full story.

I just finished reading Blueprint Edward and I love it. I smiled, cried and some parts touched me personally: you know when something similar happened to you that happens in a book!
I really enjoy reading the male POV and having a strong male AND female character. Thank you Lesley James.
Not going to give any spoilers except that you should check it out.

I really liked the story, but I will say Edward reads like he is a Brit. That's fine with me but it might bother other people because he's supposed to have grown up in the USA. I think he should just be full-on born and raised British.

So sexy and amazing! I read this one as a follow-up to Blueprint Lizzy. It was amazing to see this same story from Edward's perspective. I can't wait to see more from this incredible author!

I thoroughly enjoyed the book! It was interesting to see the story play out from Edward's point of view. I'm anxious to see if he and Lizzy will have more stories for us.
