"... Because I might be willing to let this entire world go to hell, but I won't let you burn with it."
This was decent. I absolutely loved the first half, but the second half is where I started to have problems with it. It was dragging and felt like it kept going on in circles. It got to a point that when something major happened, it no longer felt impactful. I wanted things to be sped up and get to the point. It wasn't boring but the slow pacing and repetitive nature of the second half did put me off. I enjoyed it yes but it could've been 150-200 pages less in my opinion.

Ryan and Maddie are such a good couple. I liked Maddie made him grovel and boy did he 😌🥵 The spice was pretty good (3.5/5 🌶️). I liked the dynamics of the side characters, they brought life to the book; found family trope is strong in this one. Characters like Gray and Adam made me puke.
Some of the things felt similar to Hunting Adeline, not that am complaining. The cliffhanger had my jaw on the floor, did not see that coming. Can't wait to get started with the final book in the series, really hope it's much better than this.

“My dear, sharks don’t need them.” He grinned at me, and I couldn’t help smiling back.
Have you ever postponed writing a review only to come back somewhat blank? Yeah. I probably shouldn’t have done that.
Anyways, this book is a WILD ride riddled with twists and turns!! I mostly enjoyed it and was anxious to finish to get to the next book in the series.
Thank you to my beautiful angel Cara for reading this with me!! I had the best time and after that ending — I can’t wait to see how this plays out. We need answers ASAP!

To say I have had a tumultuous relationship with this book is putting it mildly. We started off in good place, then there was some serious disagreements, we broke up, decided to give another try and then ultimately, we are still working on things but are now in a better place.
The first 60 percent of this book was a real test of my patience, it was so repetitive and slow, I was basically ghosting my kindle to avoid reading. Thankfully things picked up after that, and I will admit that I really enjoyed the last half. There were some really great heartwarming moments and the characters in these books are so loveable and well written. Ryan and Maddie are a great couple and I love them together and as individuals. The found family aspect of the book is my probably my favorite thing.
The main issue I had with this book was the content management. Look, I know it's a dark romance, that not an issue for me but I felt that a lot of heavier things were more gratuitous and used for shock value instead of pushing the plot forward. If something has already been well established to the reader, emphatically at that, there is no need to continue to repeat that same content. It doesn't serve the plot bc it's already been established, we get it! This is just my opinion and of course it's subjective especially as it pertains to these types of stories and how we all process them.
The ending was a hell of a cliffhanger, and I probably will finish the series after I take a break. 💙

I had to claw my way through this book for real.
Anyone ever watch a soap opera, then stop watching it but then when you turn it on literally 10 years later and it’s as if you didn’t miss a thing because the progression of the storyline moves so slow?
This book series is exactly that lol and just like a soap opera it’s addictive and you want to know what happens. But there’s no end in sight with the over the top storylines, situations and circumstances.
I skipped so many chapters just to get the the end, I was at 68% and skipped to the last few chapters putting me at 96% and I don’t feel like I missed anything other than the reason the author made these books so damn long and drawn out?
I don’t think I can do book 3, at least not until there’s an audible as it’s putting me in such a bad mood struggling to get anywhere satisfying in these books.

W porównaniu z pierwszym tomem to ten był okropny.
Wtf? Dlaczego to było aż tak odklejone, żenujące i niesmaczne? A do tego jakieś za długie.
Jedyne co było w miarę ciekawe to zakończenie.
Sorry ale te spicy sceny? Nic mnie tak nie skręca, w ogóle oni nie potrafili przeprowadzić chociaż jednej rozmowy bez 10 aluzji do seksu…
Nie no pierwszy tom był wciągający i w pewnych momentach nawet zaskakujący, a to?

The Orden of Phoenix: Scooby Doo version 😂👌
What a ride! WHAT. A. RIDE!!! The angst...🤯🤯 The drama😈 The twists and turns. It was Santa Barbara on crack (in a good way?)🔥🔥🔥
This book was highly entertaining and exciting to read, plus memorable AF. I enjoyed it immensely, but I have to say...some of the magic from book 1 is lost 😅😥 Mostly due to the shift of the main plot in this book/
🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩SPOILERS AHEAD 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
The premise of the first book was genially simple: one rich twin, one poor twin, separated at birth and switching places. Throw in the fact that one of them is "evil" and the other "good", you have a classical plot on your hands, full of possibilities. There's potential for comedic relief and dramatic revelations; love and hate; family secrets; eternal moral debate of rich vs. poor or "can money really buy happiness?" Book 1 was the perfect concoction of all of these topics, wrapped in a delicious bow of written word.
Now, book 2 on the other hand...shifts its focus almost completely from the twin angle and onto the a bit unbelievable, a pinch unrealistic, a smidgen OTT crusade of kids against their scum of the Earth rich parents. 🤔🙃 Had it been a private matter, lets say, both fathers of H an h were bad guys only after money, and the kids tried to destroy them with the help of their friend group, it would be believable. Cheesy, cliched but still believable. But the author had to throw HUMAN TRAFFICKING into the mix👀👀 I swear to God, every third book about richie-rich people include human trafficking plot nowadays, and oftentimes it's the children (schoolkids or college kids), who take down international multibillion crime rings. Sure they do *insert sarcasm here*
That said, there were still a lot of things I enjoyed:
- the friend group/ found family scenes 🥰🥰
- the romantic relationship between Ryan and Maddie 💕👑
- the crumps we got about Laynie's shenanigans 😈😈🔥
For book 3 I wish to have more of a balance between heavy angsty stuff and lighthearted fun. Plus more info on Madeline, her motivations, what she tried to do with those encrypted videos, photos and diary, that simply HAS TO BE FOUND! And let the main couple be happy already🙌

HOLY CLIFFHANGER. ONCE AGAIN, BOW DOWN TO HANNAH MCBRIDE FOR THIS SERIES.
I fell in love with Mad World last October when it was released, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Mad World left us on one hell of a cliffhanger and Mad As Hell jumped right into it and started immediately where Mad World left off.
From the cliffhanger in Mad World, we know that Maddie is going to be MAD and we hope that Ryan is going to come to his senses early on to be more of an ally than an enemy to her. We leave Maddie in one hell of a state. She is beaten down and bruised and the only way from here is up.
“Ryan Cain better stay out of my way, or I’ll take him down, too.”
Maddie is completely heartbroken from what happened at the engagement party. Will she be able to forgive Ryan, or will he be another person in her warpath?
Aside from Ryan, she has so many more problems. First, there is her sperm donor – Gary. He is the actual worst person I have ever read in a book. Seriously. Along with Ryan’s father Beckett. All the two of them care about is money; they literally don’t about anyone or anything and won’t let anyone stop them from their greed.
This book was filled with so many secrets, lies, and deceptions. We get an in depth look at more than just Ryan and Maddie’s stories – we get to hear more about the past and present of the rest of the crew (Bex, Linc, Court, and Ash) and I am here for it. Honestly, I am hoping that we get to see a spin off book of some or all of these side characters because their stories and situations are so interesting (especially whatever is going on with Bex, Linc, and Court).
There is so much more that I want to say, but I really don’t want to spoil anything. This book is just an amazing as Mad World, if not more. It is filled with so much angst and it will warm your heart up just to rip it apart again.
The ending is once again leaves you on an INSANE cliffhanger (UGH – I CAN’T WAIT ANOTHER SEVEN MONTHS FOR THE NEXT BOOK. I AM NOT PATIENT ENOUGH FOR THIS). The last few chapters are absolutely heartbreaking and I just can’t wait to see what happens next.

Początek bardzo mi się podobał. wciągnęłam ok. 200 stron jak narkoman, wiecie co xD ale potem zaczęło się spicy… I było tego ZA DUŻO i to o wiele. Zaczęło mi się dłużyć, nudzić, entuzjazm opadł i oczywiście ocena poleciała. No ten tom jest za długi i te sceny zbliżeń serio naciągają te fabułę. Aczkolwiek końcówka sprytna i czekam na trzeci tom 👀👀

Umm, it was good, I guess? It started off really strong, but lost me somewhere in the middle.
Things I loved:
✔️ Ryan & Maddie—their love is EVERYTHING🤞🏼
✔️ The Crew—I adore Linc, Ash, Court and all of Court’s brothers, especially Royal (bc I love a good alphahole ❤️🔥)
✔️ Grampa Harris
✔️ Cutie Cori
Things I didn’t love: everything else??
Outside of the relationships between the characters and Maddie working to forgive Ryan, I didn’t really care for this book. It was just too theatrical for my taste, and the “villains” were just a little too evil for me to believe.
I found myself rolling my eyes repeatedly—between the kidnappings and secret plots and rich men being absolutely nauseating—it just turned me off.
And the cliffhanger didn’t even shock me. Cause, duh? I was extremely annoyed that they thought they could take down Gary without any consequences. It was naïveté in epic proportions. Like, who did they think they were dealing with?
ANYWHO, I definitely plan to read the next book—here’s hoping it less dramatic.

Book two picks up where book one ends. The first part of book two is excellent, but then suffers from “book two filler” syndrome, which is a bummer, because book one was so good. The story took a backseat and really focuses on the smut, which can make a story drag. I still plan to read book 3 and I’m hopeful the series will pick up.

I dont think I've ever read a book where I felt SICK the whole time. And I mean that in the best way.
The action and drama were so well paced, so thought out. The delivery was perfect. I have no complaints.
The characters are so dimensional, the friendships are fleshed out. More secrets are revealed and the plot thickens, my friends.
I was on the edge of my proverbial seat the whole time during this book and it had the *perfect* drift of conflict and resolution while still remaining interesting and heart-wrenching.

I don’t even know what to say on how this book ended. I know I have to start the last and final book, but wow! I really need to take a breather. This whole series has had my emotions all over the place. 🫣😡😳😩

The reason I’m giving this a 4⭐️ is because this book has 600 HUNDRED PAGES?? like really we didn’t need all that, half of the book was more on spice and don’t get me wrong I do love a good book with spicy 🌶️ scenes but after a while I was just kind of over it. It became repetitive and I just wanted answers on the other stuff happing around rather than the sex. Let’s hope this last book gets better. 😩🤷🏼♀️
I don’t even know what to say on how this book ended. I know I have to start the last and final book, but wow! I really need to take a breather. This whole series has had my emotions all over the place. 🫣😡😳😩

615 pages of a college romance and these students don’t go to class once! No homework, no teachers, so very odd. I had trouble with the wordiness of book one but was enjoying all the interactions between the characters so it still worked for me. The beginning of this one wasn’t so bad but by 50% it just became so repetitive and redundant. Nothing is happening. Its just filler and not even good filler. It’s just the same conversations happening over and over. I liked the side characters in book one but here they just add to the story going in circles. It’s really choppy too. One chapter she’s freaking out and then the next she’s totally fine. The entire book is telling verses showing so it just took the emotion out of everything. There’s some good stuff here but the execution has really let this book down. There are things happening that would have really interesting to read about, like how they’re going about taking down their dads and this organization. I wanted to see these scenes of them not only planning but of them executing their plans as well. I honestly didn’t know if I was even going to finish and I feel like I went into a battle and lost the war after finishing. The author needs new editors stat!!

I got about halfway through and I’m bored from the crap that keeps happening and the way Ryan treats Maddie like she’s his property. He should be the one treating her like she’s a human being instead of ordering her around and shutting her down when she has an opinion. Bleh.
Yeah, I’m glad he had to work to get her trust back. But how he treated others was a bit much. Like it was over the top and illogical.
I don’t think I can finish this book and I don’t think I will pick up book three.

Beaten and betrayed, Maddie just wants to survive her new life long enough to escape her father and get the hell out of dodge. But let's be honest. We all know that's not what happens.
Turn up the angst, pining, and groveling.
If there's one thing I enjoy, it's some good groveling.
“I messed up, and I’ll own that. I’ll put in the time to make it up to you, but it changes nothing between us. You’re mine.”

Ryan does certainly put in the time and effort. He spends a good third of the book trying to win back Maddie's trust. And we do see how genuinely sorry he is and how much he loves her.
Romance aside, the stakes are definitely raised in this book. I read this immediately after finishing Book 1. Got to about 30% only to realize it was 4:30 am and the birds were starting to chirp, so I went to bed and then finished this once I got back up. I was that invested.
The pieces start falling into place and we learn there was definitely more Madeline than we thought we knew.
I continued to love every single member of our core group and wish them all only the best things. Bex especially is such a ride-or-die best friend, and I am glad Maddie has her outside of Ryan and the guys.
More people need to read this series and fangirl with me.

Four stars for the imagination and the wild ride. It definitely keeps the suspense front and center with wickedness that never stops. And the sex is X-rated with way too much detail. I have skimmed through a bunch of it to save my eyesight!
I can't believe I'm sticking with this YA mindboggler! It's way out of my usual parameters. But I'm in too deep to turn back now. I absolutely must know what happens to Ryan and Maddie and if Phoenix will rise from the ashes. So I travel forward to Book #3 -- the final installment.
A whole lotta cray-cray going on and a cliffhanger that sends you into the fiery pits of hell.

Mad As Hell is the second book in the (Mad World) series By Hannah Mcbride. Let me just tell you, I could not wait for this second book. So when I got the Arc for Mad As Hell, and yes I started it straight away, because that astounding cliff- hanger of Mad world that Hannah left us on was jaw-dropping. Of course Hannah did not disappoint us with this heart-stopping read, literally words fail me on how utterly amazing Hannah is as a writer.

Wow Madison girl, I seriously had so many moments in this book, where I wanted to climb in this book and give Madison a hug. We thought Madison's life turned to hell in book one, but good lord does she go through it in this book. It made me so frustrated and annoyed with what was happening. There were certain people I saw red when reading their names, so much hate I have for them. Now Ryan in this had a lot to make up for, and yes he was so in the wrong with Madison as she was nothing like her twin, but in some ways I felt bad for him too. Like he used to go out with Madelaine and she was a liar and she went behind everyone's back. I loved that Madison made Ryan make up for what he did. I loved how we got to know more on Ryans and Madison's friends Bex, Court, Linc, and Ash. Big secrets are dropped you think it can't get any madder, but OMG!!!!!!!!!!! It can, and so much worse.

So much seriously happens in this book, each and every chapter was so addictive. You just wanted to keep reading it. Hannah wrote this to perfection, the twists and turns that keep you glued to the story was exceptional. I had to stop multiple times, just sitting there like no freaking way you can't be serious. Absolutely phenomenal contemporary. It has sizzling and hot romance, and utterly tear-jerking scenes. This has everything to get you by the heart-strings and screaming at the book the next moment. But to warn you yes of course Hannah leaves us on a hair raising cliff hanger, and god even more worse than Mad World. I read this a few weeks ago and I can't stop thinking about it. I need book 3 bad lol. OMGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! Hannah you have ruined me, trust me people get ready for this insanity!I highly recommend this series because wow what a whirlwind of a read, your mind will be mind-blown.

Öncelikle, tatmin olduğumu söylemek istiyorum. Rayn birinci kitabın sonunda düşmanına inanarak Maddieyi gerçekten terk etmişti ve ben onun uzun süre sürünmesini tüm kalbimle okumak istiyordum. 🫡 Yazar ilk defa GERÇEK anlamda bana bunu veren biri oldu. Yani yalandan nazlar, ağlamalar zırlamalar olmadan… Rayn resmen affedilmek için yalvardı ama Madison tam 200 sayfa dayandı. Adam gidip düşmanını hapse attırdı, Maddie aynen şu “Ne yani seni başarın için alkışlayayım mı? Zaten çoktan yapman gerekeni yaptın.”😂Rayn tabi şok 💅💅 O kadar zevkliydi ki ne yapacağını şaşırması hiç sıkılmadan okudum. Bu gerçekten çok büyük bir başarıydı çünkü her defasında adama tüm bunların onun suçu olduğunu, dövülmesinin ve hapsedilmesinin onun yaptığı seçim yüzünden olduğunu yüzüne vurdu. Hani adam sadece onu kaybetmenin acısını çekmedi aynı zamanda sevdiği kadının başına gelenler için kendini suçladı. Ki gerçekten onun SUÇUYDU!
Neyse… Barışmalarını sağlayan olay da çok hoşuma gitti açıkçası çünkü gerçekten gerekli bir konuda artık Rayn dur diyince Maddie sonunda ona yeniden güvendi. Bu noktadan sonra kitap açılmaya başladı.
Çocukların aslında ne planladığını, babalarının ne kadar pislik olduğunu öğrendik. Onları durdurmak için ne kadar çok plan yaptıklarını, bu yüzden uzun zamandır sustuklarını okuyunca biraz sempatim arttı. Çünkü ne olursa olsun o nişanda kızı hepsi terk etti ve ben bunun öfkesini çok fazla hissettim. (Ash hariç)

Yyyyyy, tej serii dobrze by zrobiło, gdyby pozostała jednotomówką. Zmęczyłam, ale za wszelką cenę chciałam dobrnąć do końca, żeby dowiedzieć się, co jeszcze absurdalnego spotka bohaterów.
Ryan zachowuje się jak sterta mięśni, która potrafi mówić tylko "mooooja". Strasznie zazdrosna toksyna. Poboczni bohaterowie mają więcej charakteru i cech.
Yyyyyy, tej serii dobrze by zrobiło, gdyby pozostała jednotomówką. Zmęczyłam, ale za wszelką cenę chciałam dobrnąć do końca, żeby dowiedzieć się, co jeszcze absurdalnego spotka bohaterów.
Ryan zachowuje się jak sterta mięśni, która potrafi mówić tylko "mooooja". Strasznie zazdrosna toksyna. Poboczni bohaterowie mają więcej charakteru i cech.
